RSVP path message query

Hello All,
The below query is regarding the RSVP path messages that are sent from the head end towards the tail.
I have got below setup
R1(1/0) --------- (1/0) R3 (3/0)------------- (1/0) R2
The interface 1/0 on R3 has got a total rsvp reservable bandwidth of 100 Meg. While R1 and R2 interfaces have got the default value of 750 Meg ( all the interfaces are gig interfaces ).
All the tunnels are being setup by using the explicit path option.
The tunnel headend is configured at R2 and the tailend was R1. The first tunnel that was setup was of 50 Meg ( which got successfully setup as expected ).The second tunnel that i tried to setup was of 700 Meg from R2 towards R1. As expected the tunnel didnt establish because of the bottleneck at R3_1/0 ( this interface has only 50 Meg left ). But there was one thing that i noticed. R2 had still sent a Path message towards R3 with the destination ip of R1. THe moment R3 received this message, it rejected the path message with Admission control error ( as it couldnt support the requested bandwidth on 1/0 interface ) and sent Path error message back to R2. This is something that i was not expecting. I can see in the TED on R2 that R3 had already updated its G1/0 now has only 50Meg remaining. I thought that R2 ( headend ) should be referring to this first to see if the tunnel can be setup by staisfying all the constraints. Once it knows that the bandwidth is not available, it should not send any path messages.
Any idea if i missed out on anything?

How do I...Mimic Replacement Path with Query using Customer Variable Exits?

Hello SDN:
We are on BW 3.5 SP16.
We are currently using a replacement path Query(RP) with variables
to populate a variable in another Query(T).
The problem we are having is with performance.
The entry of variables in replacement path Query(RP) is optional (This is necessary there cannot be required values)
When results from Replacement Path Query are small performance is fine. (e.g. 10 seconds)
When results from Replacement path query are large performance suffers. (e.g. 1+ minutes)
Users are free to leave the replacement path variables empty resulting in a large set of data to be replaced. This is the worst performance case.
We would like to discover a way to conditionally execute the replacement path query. That is if users do not enter values for the replacement Query(RP) variables do not execute the replacement path query(RP).
Does anyone know if this is possible within reason and in customer exit space?
We have reviewed the situation from all angles and the requirement for the replacement path FUNCTIONALITY and the freedom for the user to leave variable values blank remains.
I've been searching and reading SDN and SAP notes for about a week and do not find threads which address this situation.
We are also exploring Customer variable exits to mimic replacement path functionality

Search results web part, path and query problem

Hi
I am updating a search web part and I want to show results from a specific site, I m using "path" to filter results, results are being returned correctly but now query I type in search is getting ignored. for example if I type "zxcvbn" I
still get all results from that specific site. If I remove "path" filter I see proper results.
Can I edit web part query to include "path" and "query" I type in search box?

Customization forms display message Query options

Is there any way to eliminate or change the message 'Query Options' in a report customization form?

Query Options will appear in customization form if you have any bind variable set in the component's design time.
If u dont want to have any query options,
you can suppress them by redesigning the component without any bind variables.

Various bugs – Library view issue / import and copy problem / unsupported paths message

In addition to the issues reported in a separate thread regarding importing video, there are several other bugs that are preventing me from progressing on a project and/or indicate instability in Edge Animate. These issues don’t occur on new projects (yet), but are present in my current composition.
I'm using the latest version of Edge Animate CC 2014 (2014.1.1) on a Windows 8 Pro (fully updated) system.
Issue 1 – Library View
For all the assets that have been imported, when I twirl down to view the thumbnail of each asset in the Library, nothing appears in the thumbnail area. In earlier iterations of this project, all the items appeared correctly, but now nothing is there for any of the assets. See sample below of what should appear (and what was there before), and what’s there now (nothing).
Issue 2 – Asset Import Problem
When I try to add an already imported image asset to the stage (or try to import a new image asset in the project), the item doesn’t appear properly – it just comes in as a dot with no height or width. See samples below of what the imported asset looks like on the stage and its size information.
Assets that were imported and placed before this bug occurred are still visible on the stage. But, if I copy one of these assets, the copy retains the size information, but does not appear at all. See sample.
Issue 3 – Unsupported Paths message
When I close the project, I get an unsupported paths message. See sample.
Despite this message, the assets appear in the project from within Edge and are present in the project if I open/preview the HTML file in my browser.
Since these three issues relate to project assets, perhaps they are related. I can provide a link to download this project if you like. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm glad you received the (large) project.
In the meantime, I installed Edge Animate on another system (OS - Windows 8.1). The Edge project exhibits the same problems on the other system.

ZAM collector failed to get WIF path message

This irritating message constantly appears in C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\Asset Management\bin\colw32.log on many PC's. On some PC's it appears every time the collector service tries to start but on some it only appears infrequently. I need to know how to troubleshoot this message as many of our workstations are not producing an inventory and it's down to this message.
I have done some tests today on several PC's all logged on as me. Some work, some don't, so it can't be anything to do with policies and rights to the registry. Using ZAM 7.5 IR16 with latest product updates.

Diag.Exe and DoRes.DLL already exist in the client directory. This has created and populated a file called CClientEvent20081201.log in the client logs directory. However it contains no useful information at all as to why this "Failed to get WIF path" message appears.
On the particular PC I am using here, there are 2 .WIF files dated 27th November in the InboxCC directory then nothing since so it did work until last week so why it has stopped working now I have no idea.

I had the same problem. It turns out the Windows firewall was blocking port 7461. Once port 7461 was opened everything started to work.

Here is an example:
Lets assume you have a characteristic( Say Project) with about 30 attributes. now your requirement is to display all 30 attributes and about 10 keyfigures and another characteristic and it's attributes...
If Project has about 25K projects in a Year,you will find its very difficult to diasply all the inofmation with one Query.(you may get disconnected from server after executing the query)..
So firstly,create a Query1 only with Project and keyfigures.
then create another Query2 only with Project and its attributes...here create a variable on Projeect with replacementpath and select the Query1.So you will have the Projects only from Query1.
Create Query3 with Project and other chars.create one more variable on Project with replacementpath select Query1 result. So this Query also gets Projects from Query1...
Now Query2 and Query3 get Projects from Query1 always...so you will have same Projects in your all 3 Queries..
Now crate a workbook and insert 3 Queries.make sure you insert Query1 lastly.Since last inserted query will be executed first...
You may use VBA or excel functionality if you want to see whole data in one sheet.

Return Status Message Query results in PowerShell

I'd like to know if there's a way to run a Status message query from PowerShell and have the results return as an array of objects. In other words, I'd like to be able to view the results from the Status Message Viewer in PowerShell so I can monitor
the deployment of a task sequence.
Is this at all possible? It's basically a WMI query so I should be able to do someting like this:

To get description info use the SMS_StatMsgWithInsStrings instead of SMS_StatusMessage:
$SiteCode = 'ABC'
$SiteServer = 'my-site-server'

You will need to parse out your desired properties. I am using InsString3 and 2. It's not perfect but it's at least more informative.

Error message: "Querying or saving changes to the database failed."

I can sense I'm becoming a regular on this particular forum - the problem of spending 8 hours a day trying to get this software working!
_*The problem*_
When i try and setup a new device, or modify an existing one, I get an error message when i get to the Transcode Settings page. The error message is "Querying or saving changes to the database failed." After this I get a blank screen and can no longer see my settings.
No amount of restarting has fixed this. And I cannot see a way to create a device through the client software and add transcode settings.

Ok - it seems then that this works absolutely fine as a work around. I can create a device and then assign the device to transcode settings through the client adminsitration panel (which is indeed what I meant).
So, there is a work around. Far less pressing now, but I would like to know why I'm getting the error message all the same - I'm now concerned about the integrity of the database...

Create a Formatted Seach with the following Query
SELECT T0.DocNum AS 'Document Number', T0.CreateDate AS 'Creation Date', T0.DueDate AS 'Due Date'
FROM [dbo].[OWOR] T0 WHERE DATEDIFF(Day,GetDate(),T0.DueDate) = 1
Then, Create an Alert from Adminis..> Alerts Management and Give a Name, Click Open Saved Query, Select the query you saved, Tick the Int. check box against the user who gets the Alert. Check Active. Select Frequency.

I have a Crystal report built on a BW query. The BW query contains a replacement path on a characteristic (as a control query). The control query has additional variables that the main query is not using. The crystal report is not recognizing any of the variables that the control query includes. How do I get the crystal report to recognize the control query variables?

The source is from an old Post [SAPUI5 - XMLModel] Xpath filter ? where the solution was to loop through the result.
Does SAPUI support X-Path like queries in the meantime?

I'm not sure about an xpath query (which was deprecated in JCR 2.0), but here's how you could use the JCR API to retrieve all of the versions from a path:
     * Returns all of the versions at the specified path as a List of Versions.

ABAP query issue when logoff error message query not created

I created a ABAP query using SQ01 . I saved it and i'm able to see the output . But , if i logoff from the system and relogin again to system and trying to execute the query , it is showing an error message
" The query has not been created " Please help me , is there any settings change or i have to do any thing else ?

CAN message query and CAN database creation

I have a device under test (DUT) that uses CAN and I'm trying to communicate with it using a USB-8473 and MAX. I have almost no information about the DUT's CAN interface spec. So far I've been only able to figure out the baud rate for the CAN channel, because I'm able to receive the one message it's outputting. I know there should be more messages that should be output from it - and here's my question: Is there a way to query the DUT to have it output all the messages in it's software?
I've read about using remote frames to prompt the DUT to send back a message. And that in order for a remote frame to work, you need to know the Arb. ID and data length of the message that is being called by the remote frame. However, from what I've read that is not a possiblity right now since the 8473 doesn't do remote frames and that I don't have a CAN database to work from either.
Other than getting the CAN interface spec on the DUT and sending a remote frame, is there any other way to somehow to get the the device to output messages that are currently not being sent?

Plus, when I looked more closely at the specs for the USB-847x series, it does state that it doesn't support remote frames.

So I would need to get a non-USB Can device from NI that supports the usage of remote frames.
Really, my main problem is that I don't have the necessary info on the DUT to be able to effectively work with it (which I know can't be solved on these forums). I was just wondering if remote frames are my only option to request data from it?

Replacement Path with Query

Dear Experts,
We are facing problem where we had a query in which we are having the characteristic External Notiifcation and created varaible for the same and this variable is getting replaced with Output of another query i,e the procesing type for this variable is Replacement path.
We had results for the query which we are using in the replacement path and also the same values exists in the cube on which we built the second query in whcih we are using the Replacement path.
when we execute the current query,query was not showing any output.Any suggestions would be of great help.
