RTSP support

Hi everyone,
i'm developing an application that plays and checks contents in mpg videos...
If i play a video from the filesystem it works fine, but if i play the same video from a streaming server (i'm using darwin 5.5.1) i get the following error :
bandwidth info: AS:50
bandwidth info: AS:41
bandwidth info: AS:8

Thanks

I am also trying to play videos from Darwin Streaming Server without success.
Did you get you program working?

  • Is there any plan to add RTSP  support in JavaFX?

    I really want use JavaFX in my new project, a web app in IP Camera.
    Current JavaFX  only support HTTP streaming, but the IP Camera is output RTSP stream.
    Is there any plan to add RTSP support?
    I think it is a very important function in surveillance application.
    Oracle should think about it!

    You can create a new feature request for RTSP support against javafx-jira.kenai.com
    RT-3458 camera support for JavaFX is (always) scheduled for the next JavaFX release.

  • RTSP support with WSA AsyncOS 7.7.0-753

    Hello,
         I am trying to access a video over the Internet through the WSA.  I setup a capture and can see the stream uses RTSP on TCP port 554.   Does WSA AsyncOS 7.7.0-753 support RTSP without tunneling RTSP in HTTP?  I need RTSP on TCP port 554 to work through the WSA or other options.  I have searched all the product support documentation and haven't found an answer.   The only answer I can find is in this document as a NOTE it says "RTSP is not supported by our appliance at the current time".

    No. The WSA doesn't support RTSP....

    Hey all,
    A recent upgrade of vlc broke the rtsp support. When I open an RTSP stream my command line shows warning like these:

  • JMF with streaming server like darwin

    Hi all
    I need to know are there any JMF plugin or API to communicate with darwing streaming server or any other RTSP support streaming server?
    I'm on project of video streaming over network
    I was able do the capturing of video using a web cam and streaming using RTP, since JMF support to server side RTP does not RTSP. So I want to know are there any java plugin for darwin streaming server which support RTSP?Thank You

    JMF supports RTSP out of the box.

  • Mapping Model in MPLS VPNs

    Hi:
    Based on paper titled "L3 MPLS VPN Enterprise Consumer Guide" page 52, figure 44. (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/netsol/ns465/networking_solutions_white_papers_list.html).
    1) The figure discards the "streaming video" and "bulk data" traffics within the mapping process. Why? What happens with these traffics? Both traffics are discarded or simply they need to be mapped to "Best Effort"? Please explain.
    2)In the same figure, "Interactive Video" is mapped to "Realtime" SP class with "Voice" traffic. Is this "Interactive Video" traffic always no TCP-based? If the opposite is true, why is it mixing TCP & UDP over the same "Realtime" class?

    Hi,
    That articles mentions that these protocols tend to use transport-layer protocols such as UDP and RTSP. That is true but there are a lot of different streaming protocols around and some of them do use TCP. In fact, even RTSP supports the use of TCP. And you can also stream via HTTP (Windows Media supports this, for example).
    So you see, there can be a mix of TCP and UDP traffic here.
    The other, more critical, reason for not mixing interactive-traffic with streaming (one-way) traffic is the drastically different jitter/latency requirements for the two. Streaming traffic will easily sustain latency in the order of seconds and jitter is not even a problem. Whereas interactive traffic will not. That is why you should not mix the two.
    Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

  • Streaming by stitching

    I've been working on streaming video to my phone by breaking up the video real small then using two players to swtich back and forth between background downloading and forground playing. I used to have thread issues but I have cleaned them up. Here is the weird issues I'm having right now.
    It seems to depend on what order I have my movie clips in as to whether or not they play all they way through. The things I'm thinking are as follows. If anybody else has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
    Mabey some of the videos are too big for the phone to load while it's already loading another movie. I have one movie that it always seems to get stuck on. It's about 100k.
    I make a call to System.gc() in the playerListener function when the player closes. Could that possible garbage collect something that I am using. An index value for a loop or something?
    The person that is giving me the video is using some script to chop up video in little increments. Could there be weirdness with the files. Weird / incomplete info from the script that breaks up the video.
    When something goes wrong, the downloading symbol just stops working. Any clues. Thanks in advance.

    hi shizny and all,
    it appears that the stitching method is the only way floating around to emulate streaming for non j2me rtsp supported handsets. so do you think that this is the same approach companies like MobiTV uses to stream TV programs to non-rtsp based handsets? Or there's another way to do it?
    thanks,

  • Does jmf2.1.1 really support rtsp?

    where can i find the related examples?

    Hi,
    Sun's posted the third beta of the Java Media Framework 2.1.1 on the Java Developer Connection (registration required). New features in beta 3 include:
    The JMF Customizer has been added to the JMF performance packs.
    The QuickTime file writer now creates streamable QuickTime files
    Support for UNC paths such as file://unixmachine/home/videouser/video.mov
    RTP Connector: a new interface that allows developers to connect JMF/RTP to their own and possibly proprietary transport services.
    RTSP Processor
    A new control that provides a handle on RTPManager objects to retrieve RTP statistics from the RTSP Player
    The RTSP Player can handle multiple audio and video streams

  • Does emulator of  wireless toolkit WTK2.5.1 support RTSP protocol

    Hi everybody,
    I am working on developing streaming player in J2ME. I want to use RTSP protocol in it but the emulator is
    displaying the following output for the supported protocols.
    OUTPUT:
    http
    file
    device
    capture
    when i am using the following code------->>>>>>.
    CODE:
    Display display;
    Form formProtocol;
    public void startApp()
    display=Display.getDisplay(this);
    display.setCurrent(formProtocol);
    String strProtocols[] =Manager.getSupportedProtocols(null);
    for(int i=0; i<strProtocols.length; i++)
    System.out.println(strProtocols);
    plz help me that {color:#ff0000}*whether emulator supports RTSP protocol or not If YES than how ?.*{color}
    OR {color:#ff0000}*Is there any other emulator that supports the RTSP protocol ?.*{color}

    that output does, in fact, mean rtsp is not a supported protocol in the WTK emulator. I don't know of any emulators that do support it, but enough phones support it. Shouldn't be too hard to try it out on device

  • Supported rtsp formet on mobiles

    I need to know the URL formats supported by media player in MMAPI (JSR-135).
    Using getSupportedContentType() method, I found that emulator does not support RTSP -- Only http links work on the emulator. The following link was tested successfully on the emulator with a player created using MMAPI (JSR-135) : http://localhost:8080/phantom.mpg
    On device, both rtsp and http links are supported. On the device, the player created using MMAPI (JSR 135) is able to play the following links:
    rtsp://123.123.123.123/public/metadata/pvmetadata.mp4
    http:// localhost:8080/phantom.mpg
    The following devices used for testing : Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson W910i.
    On the device, the player created using MMAPI (JSR 135) could not able to play the following link:
    rtsp://123.123.123.123/__MM__/dvs%3a1%3a102%7c123%7c150%7caudio%7cClientID%3d108%7c1%7c275%7c6335060020186878001%7c7%2f2%2f2008+12%3a56%3a41+PM%7c7610c6818031d4c4%7c
    The native player(player of Sony ericsson mobile "walkmen 3.0 edition") (which does not depend on JSR 135) on the device was able to play the following links.
    rtsp://123.123.123.123/__MM__/dvs%3a1%3a102%7c123%7c150%7caudio%7cClientID%3d108%7c1%7c275%7c6335060020186878001%7c7%2f2%2f2008+12%3a56%3a41+PM%7c7610c6818031d4c4%7c
    Based on the above information, Can you provide me the URL formats supported by JSR 135 ? Is there any restriction on the URL format, such as encoded format, plain format, etc. ? Is it possible to add streaming or media related parameters to the plain format that can be understood by the player ?

    ActiveX is NOT required on the WVC54GCA camera to view or manage...the only area that it is required is if you mess with the motion detection settings...thats it
    RTSP does not require anything special except that you open port 554 (or alternate port if you select to use RTSP on a different port) and your mobile provider and hardware (phone) must support it
    I have a verizon voyager that supports RTSP and verizon supports it too. Try playing videos at http://m.youtube.com - this uses RTSP and if this works, your phone can handle it. Enable it in your camera, open the ports and try the URL http://YourTZODomain.Linksys-Cam.com:554/xxxxx
    (where xxxxx is the access code you set in the camera mobile streaming area)
    Thanks RemoteAccess, that's great information but doesn't answer my initial question about HTTP vs. RTSP. (I have seen your posts before on how to configure RTSP and will test that when my cam arrives this afternoon).
    My question really was to judge whether (on my supposedly unsupported iPhone) if viewing the cam via the web was the same as RTSP (minus the controls).
    By the way... as a side note: I was able to view the videos at http://m.youtube.com on my iPhone. It brought up the main page within my browser and then when I selected a youtube video to watch, it launched the YouTube app on the iPhone and played. Hmm. I'll definitely have to test this further, but it looks promising.

  • Does jmf support rtsp protocol?

    i wanna know does jmf support rtsp protocol? now, i play an video(rtsp://localhost/test.avi) by JMStudio, but failed(Controller Error: Failed to realize).
    Anybody can give me some suggestion on how to solve this problem?
    I also know whether i can implement rtsp protocol by jmf? thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    From what I understand optomux is a standard that determines the syntax of the command sent. The commands are sent through serial or Ethernet. You can use LabVIEW (the VISA VIs) to communicate with a device using serial or Ethernet. However, there are no VIs that will build the optomux commands.
    I'm not familiar with them, but you can check out the optomux VIs included with the Fieldpoint explorer. That should give you an idea of how to use the VISA to implement optomux communication.

  • Any Emulator that supports RTP or RTSP protocol

    Hello Friends
    As far as i know sun wireless toolkit doesnt supports RTP or RTSP protocol
    does any body knows suitable emulators that support execution or code that contains RTP or RTSP protocol......
    or if there exists any patches via which sun wireless toolkit can support it

    Hi,
    First of all there is no api for RTP present. So what you can do is record the audio, then convert it to RTP format by adding all the headers and then transmit it, At the reciever you have to rearrange the incoming packets and then play iy back. This is just a procedure and i have no idea hoe effective it is. This is the procedure iam following as even iam building my own RTP stack, so if u have any ideas can share with me. Iam ready to share mine. For audio recording just use the code present at http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/techsupport/tipstrickscode/java/p_new_features_mobilemedia_api_jsr135.jsp
    works fine for stream, but not for file. Tried to debug but was not successful
    One more thing the JSR 135 says that we can play RTSP data just check the API for details. I have not used this format till now. So if you were successful in playing please share your code with me
    All the best

  • How does LinkSys WRT54G v7 support RTSP streaming service?

    Hello,
    I'm using LinkSys WRT54G v7 and I can see RTSP videos using VLC player from m.youtube.com. Strangely, I cannot play videos if other AP such as DLINK is used instead of LinkSys.
    I analyzed the packets and found out that RTSP server(youtube) sends RTP packets to client's ports which are acquired at RTSP SETUP procedures. Then the packets from server cannot reach the client because UDP hole is not punched at the AP.
    But, when I use LinkSys, the RTP packets can traverse the NAT.
    Here goes my question. Does LinkSys provide the NAT traversal of the RTSP streaming service? Then, why can't I find any feature list about this from the LinkSys product information? Any explanation about this?
    Thank you in advance for your help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. None of the NAT helpers in Linksys firmware are documented anywhere.
    2. Possibly, they have added a helper for RTP.
    3. It could also be that the VLC player forwards the port using UPnP.

  • Does JMF really support RTSP

    Hi,
    I am trying to stream QuickTime .mov file located on a Darwin streaming server to a client side player/applet. The files were created using the JMF and are encoded using the CINEPAK codec.
    No error is thrown and nothing appears. I have also tried using JMStudio to display the media file but again it just seems to hang.
    Any suggestions, ideas, solutions, similar experiences would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Shane

    We beat our heads against JMF/Darwin for a long time and never got it to work adequately. The only format we could reliably serve and display was H-263 which is completely inadequate for our purposes. If you find anything, let me know.
    Good luck.

  • Can not connect outside of Lan to with rtsp PVC2300

    I have the following cameras set up at my office
    1 - PVC2300
    2 - WVC54GC
    3 - AXIS 225FD
    I have a BEFSR81 Router
    I have a computer on Windows XP running the surv software to record.  Everything with that is good.
    I also have 2 desktops.
    I have been playing around with the rtsp feed with the pvc2300, but have run into a few problems.
    1(a).  I can not connect outside of the LAN with RTSP with either the VLC player or quicktime.  It connects and asks for a password and then just hangs.
    The PVC 2300 local address is 192.168.1.102 with ports 554, 5000-5010, and 6970-6999 forwarded on the router.  What am I missing?
    1(b) I can successfully connect with my blackberry bold, although when I try to change the default port (554) to something else (I would like to RTSP my the AXIS camera as well,  so I will need a different port) it connects on my bold, but then says server is unresponsive. What am I missing here?
    2.  The voice with the PVC 2300  using http outside of the LAN (internet) lags quite baddly and is choppy.  This happens without fail when I have all 4 cameras running, which I understand is upload bandwidth problem.  But it also happens when I connect to just the PVC2300.  I do have a connection to all 4 cameras inside the LAN to the XP running the surv software, but that is it. Is the my router acting buggy?  I have unplugged the router for 5 sec, and it fixed it for a while, but it always comes back.  I have donwloaded the latest firmware for the router and PVC 2300 and that didnt seem ot fix it either.  Suggestions?
    3.  This is more of a question.  I know the mobile streaming of the PVC 2300 does not include voice.  Is there an app or way that I can just get it to my Blackberry.  Even if I didnt get the video, voice is sometimes more important to me.
    I hope Ive been clear enough in my description, Im very self taught (google is amazing), but I am in no way a techy.
    Thank you in advace for your help.
    Colin

    Glad to hear you are successfully using the SWVMS16. That program is really cool and useful. I just cant tell you how that model of Linksys Router can work for you here (that is not a model we support on this community as its not small business)
    Regarding RTSP access, are you also including the mobile.sdp in the URL?
    RTSP:///mobile.sdp   I noticed in the camera GUI with the newer firmware, you can specify an access code under mobile settings after checking the enable mobile streaming box.  That word may be what you have to include, so check that too...
    Try this locally first and then remotely is the easiest way to see if you got it right, then it just becomes a routing or firewall issue to figure out.
    But your forwarded ports look right and should be opened.
    Under advanced settings, you can define an alternate HTTP, HTTPS or RTSP port
