Rule-Based Forwarded Email

I am reviewing the contents of the Message Tracking logs from an Exchange 2010 server. How can I identify those emails that were forwarded using some form of rule-based forwarding? Does the exchange server record rule-based forwarded emails in the Message
Tracking logs?
I would normally perform a test to find the answer, unfortunately I do not have access to an Exchange 2010 server.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You didn't say you were running the Exchange server on a Domain Controller (not a configuration that's recommended). Since this is an Exchange forum I took what you said to mean that you had only an image of the Exchange server.
If you have the AD then you'll find the alternateRecipient property on the accounts that had it populated at the time your image was made, along with the transport rules (which would be easier to deal with using Powershell).

Can i set a outlook rule to forward specific emails to an hpe print email address ?

    CSI,
The spam filters on ePrint are pretty stringent.  Here is a list of things that will possibly cause ePrint jobs to be discarded as spam.
    1. Blank subject lines
    2. "FW:" or random characters and numbers in the subject line.
    3. Small graphics or URL links in the body.
    4. Photos that do not meet the 100 dpi resolution attached to the email.
    5. Auto-signatures in the body of the email.
You can try and set a rule to forward to ePrint, however it may not work.  Your biggest enemy will be the 2nd one on the list above.

  • Mail rule not forwarding attachments

Using Mail rules to forward email to another account, the attachments are not forwarded with the original email message.  With a manual forwarding action, the original message is forwarded with the attachments.  Thoughts?

I have the same problem in MacOS 10.7.5, and it is a heavy problem, cause in fact Apple prevents us from professional work.May be we should chenge to Microsoft Exchange. I didn't have this problem in former versions, the forwarding WITH attachements worked fine.
The solution with the redirecting is only a emergency workaround, because it doesn't permit a professional handling of messages.
This Bug is strange, because forwarding the same message manually (choosing "forward" from the menu), the problem doesn't exist!!!!
As an "Only Mac User" since 1988 I'm very disappointed about the fact, that Apple doesn't take serious the problems of their users caused by BUGS.

  • Mail Rule Applescript to Forward Email Attachments Only

    Hi Everyone,
I'm running 10.8.4 and Mail 6.5. Using Mail Rules, I'd like to forward emails containing attachments but not the message content (contained in the email to be forwarded). I am not an AppleScriptor but have tried to write code...with no luck. Does anyone know of such a script that can be activated using Mail Rules? Or propose a script I could use?

  • Can I forward emails from Mail to my work email when I'm there?

Is is possible to have incoming Mail messages forwarded to another email address when I am at work? It takes too long to log into the web and check my home email at work when I'm there. I have outlook at work and it's way better than Mail (IMO). Can this be done?

A rule is simply an automated action that occurs based on a set of conditions. The ability to make rules exists in just about all email applications including Outlook and Mail.
One of the things I like about Mail is that making rules is a lot easier than in Outlook. But, there's no way to make an email client forward email to specific location by just checking a box because application doesn't know which messages you want forwarded and to where to send it until you tell it.
Anyway, enough background....here's how to make a Rule in Mail:
-Open Mail and select Mail->Preferences from the menu bar.
-Click on the Rules tab and click the Add Rule button.
-Type a name for your rule, e.g. "Forward to Work"
-For conditions, select To and Contains from the drop-down menus, then type your home email address in the blank at the end.
-For actions, select Forward Message from the drop-down menu and type your work email address in the blank.
    -Click the OK button.
That's it. Now all messages to your home address will be forwarded to you work address.

  • User Mail filter refuse to forward emails

    Hi all,
I use the Messaging server with Calendar and SSO with AM. I have The Messaging server version:
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-4.03 (built Sep 22 2005)
    libimta.so 6.2-4.03 (built 04:37:42, Sep 22 2005)
All others type of filters I tested works, except when I create a rule to forward incoming email based on specific keywords (subject or sender doesn't matter).
I always get the email and another one with the subject: "Problem during delivery processing"
    and the body:
    Processing errors occurred during delivery:
    Recipient address: [email protected]
Reason: Error in sieve filter: Too many notifys specified
Delivery processing continued in spite of these errors.
The problem is I just put one email in the "forward email to:" field and the forward is not executed even if stating the delivery processing continued.
I don't see the forwarded email "stuck" in any queue. (imsimta qm)
I did the "imsimta test -rewrite -filter -debug [email protected]" but unfortunatly I can't make much of the listing of infos...
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hi Shane
    Hi Phil,
Are you saying that you created a new rule for a
different account on the same server and it now
    works, or a different server?
Sorry for the confusion: I create a filter rule to forward specific emails in users accounts (using the gui of uwc) and every time I do, it doesn't work. On all servers I installed soo far.
    I would be looking at:
    - software release differences (messaging server) if
the accounts are on different systems.
    - differences in the rules themselves (imsimta test
-rewrite -debug <address> will display towards the
end the rules as were retrieved from the directory
and the rules in the order which they are evaluated.
The second rule listing display is most useful)
Since you can retrieve the rule, you can see what
rule matched by doing the following:
imsimta test -exp -mm -block -input=test.filter
    -message=rfc822.msg
-> test.filter is the sieve filter rules for the
    user
-> rfc822.msg is an example email that isn't
matched. When I do that, everything is ok if the rule doesn't match, and when it matches, I have the same error message (previous post) that I have by email. Here's the whole thing:
    bash-3.00# ./imsimta test -exp -mm -block -input=phil.filter -message=mess.msg
    Expression: #RULE: $Name="for" $Order=1 $Type="DEFAULT_TYPE"
    Expression: Expression: require "notify";

    Expression: Expression: notify :method "email" :echo :options "[email protected]" "POSTMASTER-AUTO-FW:${1}" "This is an auto-forwarded message";
    Expression: Expression: stop;
    Expression: Expression: }
    Expression: Expression: #ENDFILTER

    Dump: "Subject" list " Comments" list , " Keywords" list , 5
    Dump: "POSTMASTER-AUTO-FW:*" list "postmaster-auto-fw:*" list ,
    Dump: ! 15 header:2000115;0 3 1 :matches 8 "Subject" list "

    Dump: 1 "[email protected]" 1 "POSTMASTER-AUTO-FW:${1}" 1
Dump: "This is an auto-forwarded message" ; "" stop
Evaluation error: Too many notifys specified
As you can see, there is just one specified notify and did use the gui of uwc.
It could be the problem is as simple as an earlier
rule is being matched and the forward rule doesn't
get hit.I tested on different users, even on a server with just one user and one rule.
Thanks for the help so far, and the infos on how to check filter rules ;)

  • Forward email to a specific address to an Exchange mailbox

I would like to know if it is possible to forward email to a specific address (for an Identity that doesn't exist) to a user's mailbox.
Example: when our employees are terminated we delete their active directory accounts and email mailbox.  I'd like to be able to still forward any email to their old email address to their supervisor.
Alternately I could set up the terminated employee as a mail contact: could I then set up the forwarding rule?

    Hi,
Agree with the above suggestions, we can use transport rule:

  • Configuring ISE to proxy Authentications based on email address

    Hi
I'm looking for a little help configuring ISE to proxy requests to external radius servers based on email address and password. I want to configure eduroam on our WLAN. Eduroam allows students connect to the WIFI of other Campuses using their local credentials
    Workflow:
    User associates to SSID (eduroamTest)
Prompted for username & password (802.1x)
User puts in username and password in the form [email protected] (UPN)
If the user is part of our local institution they are authenticated using our local radius server (ISE)
If the user is a  member of a partner institution the request is proxied to an external radius server (National Gateways).
The National Gateways  passes the request to the relevant institution based on the UPN (eg @ucd.ie will be passed to ucd radius servers)
The institution authenticates the user and passes the  request back to the National Gateways
The National Gateways passes this request back to our ISE server and the external user is authenticated
The user can browse the web
    What I have done:
Setup the National Gateways as external proxy servers
Created firewall rules to allow the traffic
Configured the proxy sequence with these servers
Created a policy to proxy requests to the proxy sequence
What I need to figure out:
How to get ISE to authenticate/proxy requests, for the SSID eduroamTest, based on UPN eg (if username = *@rcsi.ie then use local ISE otherwise use proxy service)
Any help with this configuration would be greatly appreciated as I am new to ISE.
If you need any more info please let know.
    Kind regards
    John

    Sounds like you did most of the work already. To get ISE to direct certain requests based on attributes in the request to another radius server, all you need to do, is create a new authentication rule, where you check for the following attributes ;
    radius/called-station-id contains "eduroam"
    and
    radius/username ends with "rcsi.ie"
Then you can select the radius server sequence you created instead of the normal "Allowed protocols" list.
If you want to be in control of the authorization, there is a flag you must set in the radius server sequence in ISE, this will let you control what rights the client is given locally, while still authenticating the user remotely.

  • Is it possible to use logic rules to manage email submission receipts?

Is it possible to use logic rules to manage email submission receipts?
I have one form and based on the user's selection I want to manage which email submission receipt gets sent to that specific user.
    Is this at all possible?
Please ask for clarification if I am not making sense.

It should be no problem since the Audio Kontrol 1 is Core Audio compatible. This has nothing to do with VST's.
In doubt contact Native Instruments support.

  • Server side rule - inline forwarding of a message

We have a solution that generates custom x-header on all emails (via an Outlook Add-in).  Using Outlook, User A creates a server-side rule which forwards messages onto User B.  User B receives a message without the custom
x-header.  My question is how can I retain the custom x-header, at the moment I cannot think of any way!
The server-side rule can use 'forward as attachment' which keeps the custom x-header in the attached message, but the 'inline forward' action (where the forward message is embedded into the body of the new message) doesn't.  Requirement is for both
    types of forwarding to function!
    Thanks
    A

Have you looked at using a Transport Rule instead ?, because Transport Rules allow you to process messages in the Transport Pipeline you should be able to copy the Forward recipient on the message and that will means they will get an exact copy of the
    message.
    Cheers

  • Rule based query

    Hi all,
please forward information about Rule Based Query, actually i am nott getting what is rule based query, please help me out....
    Thanks and Regards,
    Santosh

rule based optimizer is a older technique and cannot be used efficiently to optimize a query, now -a- days only cost based optimization would be effective and these are categories under which a query can be tuned. usually explain plan on a query would fetch you the rule or cost based information....Thank you

  • Active Synch on OS 2. Can't reply or forward emails.

OS 2 has been great.  My only issue is when using active synch with my corporate email account. All Gmail accounts work flawlessly. I can generate a new email using active synch but when I reply or forward the email errors out with no description. Has anyone experienced this and/or fixed this? I also have an android using active synch with the same account and all the features work from there which rules out my email server.

  • Forwarding email to an incremental distribution list

Is it possible to setup that "when an email arrives in a mailbox that it is forwarded to user1, then the next email that arrives is forwarded to user2, then the next email that arrives is forwarded to user3 and so until the list of users is complete
and forwarding starts again at user1'?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that Exchange has no built-in feature to achieve your requirement. What we can do is forwarding emails that arrive in user1's mailbox to some specific email addresses, the forwarding email addresses couldn't change automatically.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Forwarded email has no links available on iPhone.

I have set up a rule to forward a newsletter from my iMac to a gmail account that is set up on my iPhone 5.  The email gets forwarded but the links in the email are not active.  If I manually forward to the same email the links in it are active.
    What am I missing?

Success, of sorts.  What I've done that seems to work quite well is to change the rule from Forward the email to Redirect the email.  It appears to arrive as originally coded quite nicely.
    At least for my needs.
It does seem that Forward should also work.

  • Forwarded Email

An email was received while an auto forward rule was on.
The original email received to the forwarding email address has now been deleted and was sent to the original email in error.
If the original email was deleted before the person who receives the forwarded email opens it, will it also be deleted in the forwarded persons email account?

    Hi,
I would like to verify that if you set the auto-forward rule on Outlook at first.
I have a test in my environment, I use Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2010. If the message has finished forward process, the original recipient deletes the message in his/her Inbox, the message can't be deleted in the forwarded persons' Inbox.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.
