Run around with chat option

I wanted to add a second DVR to my system. I was told about quantum. It is cool, but I decided a second DVR made the most sense for what I needed even though it cost a little more. At first I was told the cost of the second DVR then once I told the rep I wanted one he said it is. It available and I had to upgrade to Quantum.
I asked him straight up if that was true, he said yes.. I wanted to talk to someone else was told to call 1-800 number. What a mess that is.
Today we went to the local verizon fios equipment place (thankfully one is close) and got the second DVR.
I need to complain about this but I can't find anywhere to do so. They would not listen to what I wanted, but kept pushing the new service. Does anyone have a direct number or an email address to discuss this with them?

  • Text is running together on some pages and not others. i've tried no squint and playing around with text options in tools. I can't strike a good balance.

    I can't seem to figure out how to have a full screen experience with larger text and everything is in proportion. Either the right end of lines are chopped off, or lines of text are running into each other and out of boundaries.

    == I installed FF earlier this evening. I've had FF before and my gripe was the inability to set a certain magnification. I found the no squint add on and it seems very good, but somewhere I'm getting stuck. I've been fiddling with no squint, font options in tools and size and resolution settings for my monitor.

    i'm also having major CPU problems w/ FF 29.0.1. when i restart the app it calms down again but after loading tabs it steadily climbs up to 100% after not too long. i have checked out the 2 CPU links/articles above and do all the basic troubleshooting and tips, but with all the FF tools & add-ons isn't there some sort of CPU monitor that has the ability to display which extensions/scripts are hogging the CPU? Activity Monitor on Mac just shows the total used by the app. it's impossible in my case to efficiently disable dozens of add-ons & scripts, restart, and test each one by one b/c it can take several hrs before the CPU starts to spike high again. i have no time for this.

    Since I can't email corportate and no one through the customer care phone or chat can help I am trying this. First I would like to start off by saying I love your services I truly do. Best internet service that’s a give in. I think the security can be improved a little but still great program and cable there is always something for us to watch. I wanted to let you know that I have gone through several attempts to have the issues fixed that I am writing you about today. I started my internet services with you guys back in June 2014. We switched from AT&T to Comcast Xfinity and loved that choice. Well in November I started a divorce so my kids and I moved to another home. When we did my first choice was Comcast. I immediately called to see what services I could get. I was offered a triple package for $109 a month for internet, home security, and cable. Ok my budget was about $130 a month. So I was informed that I could get HBO for a year as part of my package and my DVR would be free the first year. After that my services would go from $130 to about $165 and I could call then for another promotion. Ok sweet! Deal! I really on wanted internet and security but I was told cable wouldn't be much more. Well then came all the little extras in order to have cable I would have to have boxes in each room. Sure I could get a $1.99 box however why would I get that when I'm already paying for on demand that didn't make sense. Well in February my car died and I had to get a new car I which accrued nice monthly car payment now. So I called to see what I could do to lower my bill. The agent informed me that since my bill was past due she couldn't do anything however she would note my account and she offered me a credit for the HD TV services for $10 a month off my bill. That wasn't much so I had to figure out what I could do. I paid my bill and called the following week. The agent said sure no problem I can add that now for you. Well next bill never saw it. I called about, now we are in March I believe, and I was told sorry we can't offer that to you since it's not a promotion right now. I was like wait a minute that was offered to me last month and it's not on my bill shouldn't that be honored? Well she then offered me HBO free for six months instead. I was told that agent that it was supposed to already by on my account and it's not? So I said let me call back this week I need to review my bills. Well when I did they once again couldn't offer me that promotion since it no longer existed I was offered PPV and three months HBO. I was not happy. Why isn't an agent telling me that when I call back I could lose that offer? Instead they inform me that they will note the account. So I chatted with an agent one night and got smart. I took a picture of our conversation. After 45 minutes with one agent she said no problem I can give you that $10 credit for six months. Then another agent offered me HBO for a $1 for 2 years with a 2year agreement. I said ok perfect I need to have my security that long anyways. Well of course I got a bill with a charge of $9.99 for HBO. So once again I am calling Comcast back. They had me go through three departments before I got to the home department, I think that's what it's called. They said sorry we can't give that to you because that is usually an offer that is sent in the mail to certain customers with a code that allows you to get two premier channels a $1 each for 24 months. I said I’ll take that again. She said sorry I can't do that. So I informed her well this isn't right. I have my picture showing a Comcast agent offering me this and everything went through until our conversation froze. So at that point I’m very upset and sick of calling.  Well the mover’s edge program connected me in April 2015 saying they heard we were moving. I'm not sure how because I wasn't even approved for a house yet but it was true. I was in contact with Dontae (not sure how to spell his name but I have his number and email) and he said do not worry about a thing send me that pic and I will add the credit of $10 a month for you. Before speaking to him an agent finally gave me three months free for HBO until I solved this $1 issue. I was informed I had to go to the Comcast Center here in Merced however they are only open during the hours I work and closed on weekends which are my days off. So I haven’t been able to do that. So I moved got settled in. I was told by Comcast installers that we would have access charges for moving however Dante did tell me that when we moved any charges we accrue we can get credited back just contact him when I receive my first bill. I'm on my second bill and I’m sorry but I’m not paying this until my account it settled and put in the way it should be. I was told my average bill should be $130 a month anything above that I can't afford. I have a single income now two kids and a car payment plus moving added more rent because of personal issues. I wanted my $10 credit a month which finally did start. HBO for a $1 for 24 months and all moving charges reverse. I need to see if it's ok to set up a payment plan for balance once the credits are settled. I was hopeful that whatever the balance may be to start that on a 6 month payment plan on top of my monthly bill. Ideally I would like to just keep home security and internet. That I can afford. We went through AT&T since we had service with them they offered us a law enforcement discount, free boxes and HD for life while we had them and all channels except for HBO/Cinemax for $75 a month. I'm not trying to throw that in as anything bad but it was a great offer and I would like to tell people about my good experiences with Comcast not my bad ones. Plus I didn't get any new offers when I signed up for my new services. I understand that because I had internet already I wasn't new customer but come one now when someone upgrades that much there should be some incentive.  I have tried and tried to settle this before my services were disconnected. Collections called me the other day and I explained what was going on. She said yes contact corporate and I’ll make a note on your account. It's been nothing but ongoing issues and most of these I didn’t' even ask for I asked to help reduce my bill and these offers were offered to me and then boom nothing. It's really not a fair situation.  Please resolve this issue.

  • Verizon's Run Around With the "Activation Charge"

    So I called in about a million times since the build was completed for verizon fios.  I was told each week that I would be contacted when it was going to be available.  I received 0 calls for 2 months.
    Fast-forward 2 months later and I call in just to see if it was finally activated by the engineers (whatever that means).  Turns out, it became available.  Clue number 1 that verizons account note system is a complete failure.
    So i ordered the ultimate bundle with the fastest speed available under 100mbs, with every premium channel.  I didn’t order online because I was being charged a "pick your own area code" fee, which doesn't make any sense as I picked the only area code in my area. 
    So i am on the phone, speaking to the rep. He wasn’t pushing a sale since I already knew what i wanted, after all I am the one that called them.  I told him the issue showing up and he told me that i would not be charged that or ANY OTHER FEE because of the bundle that i selected.  Perfect, that is what i was expecting anyway since the accounts i helped my friends set up charged both activation and installation fees because they did not select the Ultimate TV package.
    So 2 days before install, i get the mock bill that shows not only the Activation fee, but also the pick your own area code.  I call in, tell them the mistake, and was told that the bill is an estimation and that they would not appear on the actual bill.
    Fast forward 1 month, i get the bill, and both of the charges are still there.  Talked to a rep no more than 5 minutes ago and was told that i was told that i would be charged these fees. 
    Now sure, the activation fee would make sense except that I was told it would be waived.  The pick your own area code makes 0 sense either.  The rep told me I had no notes on my account.  They claim they could do nothing about it, and obviously put me on hold for a good 20 minutes.  My phone was on charge and next to my laptop, speaker phone makes it very easy for me to do other things until someone responds.
    So, dealing with Verizon billing is always a headache.  Never trust a phone rep from this company.  I am going to reduce my internet speed next year to avoid any issues and make back every penny of the bogus activation and pick your own area fee that i am being charged.  I don't get why Verizon doesn't understand they stand to lose more money from me because of it.  I do not need 75mbs down, but i got it cause i wouldn't be charged the fee and I'd generally be happy with it.  Will anyone in my family notice when it jumps down to 50mbs?  Most certainly not, and I may just keep it there. 
    So even if the 50mbs costs only $10 less a month (I’m sure its somewhere between $15-25), I will save at least $120 in the course of a year.  Subtract that $75 in bogus fees, and Verizon stands to lose at least $45 from me. 
    If they were smart and waived the fee like they said, they would, essentially, be up $45.  Math tells you to do the smart thing, stick with your word, and waive what you told me you would waive.
    Yea yea, user forum bla bla.  I'm hoping someone from Verizon see's this and understands that customers know the value Verizon services have to them better than Verizon does.  One way or another, I am not going to pay something I was told I did not have to.  One method is going to take a phone call next year and Verizon will lose $45.  The other would have been taken care of with the phone call i made today if the company was smart enough to waive the fees.

  • Exercising/ Running Marathon with Ipod Classic

    Hi there and sorry in advance if this is a tired and already answered question. But I looked and could not find a similar topic.
    I run extensively 5 mile a day, even in winters. And workout extensively too, plyometrics, etc. And I am wanting to buy a new ipod. Music is my life and I have a very enormous collection of music.
    Here are the questions
    1) The max capacity available is with the ipod classic 120 GB. Which is an excellent choice for me. BUT is it a good choice for someone like me who is going to be running around with it and exposing it to jerks and bumps and a lot of movement during play?
    2) Is the ipod touch a better option (64GB) if I were to use it extensively while running, gyming etc? I understand that everyone will give the usual stuff about flash based memory Vs hard disc (in case of classic). But is that really the case or are there Ipod classic owners who subject it to a lot of abuse and have never reported problems?
    I only ask because the difference in terms of money for Ipod 120 GB classic Vs the new ipod touch 64 GB is quite a lot.
    Your help and direction to further articles/ research would really help me. I greatly appreciate you taking the time for reading this and choosing to answer.

    is the obvious answer, but I think that if you are going to be using it for this then the classic is too big a risk to take.
    From my experience, hard disks can sometimes take quite a bit of bashing about, but nothing like flash based memory does. It seems very hit and miss, some people manage to get away with it for quite a long time, but if you use a classic for this purpose then there is a big risk of it falling over after a very short amount of time.
    Basically, if you can take the financial risk of needing to replace it every six months then go for it if the extra capacity is important, but if a damaged ipod will result in no music at all for a while then it's got to be flash.

    It seems once we make a call to eachother, or chat with eachother at least once it works, but the first time after loading the client, this option doesnt present itself.

    Different users have different browsers with different jvms, and they sit behind different firewalls. To send messages from the server to an unsigned client applet you could use polling or piggybacking.

  • Very disappointed with Motorola Razr M AND VZW Run Around

    I got the Motorola Razr M last December.  I picked the Motorola M because it was a nice compact size without compromising screen size and Motorolas are very durable phone....or so I thought.  I have had nothing but problems with this model phone.  I am on my 6th replacement.   I have had software problems and hardware problems.  Two "certified" replacement phones have had hardware defects upon being sent out to me.  The rest have had numerous software problems.  Verizon has been good about sending out replacement phones since I was under my 1 year manufacturers warranty..until this week when I asked if i could get a different phone sent out since this models seems to have so many problems.  I got a major run around and no follow up by a "management supervisor" who told me she would work directly with me to resolve the situation...she even gave me her direct number but ended up not being her number when I tried to call back.  I am not pleased with the way VZW has decided to handle this as I have been a loyal customer for 11 years.  I do blame the reps...I know they are doing their jobs with the boundaries that are set for them.  I just want a phone to work for the remainder of my contract with VZW.  I even tried to contact Motorola and they said since I bought the phone through VZW I had to work with VZW for replacements.  SO VERY FRUSTRATING!

    You have actually helped me with a decision that has been driving me crazy for the past week.  I do not need nor do I want all or most of the above you mentioned.  Heck I hardly use half of that stuff on my home computer or I-pad.  I will definately stay with my basic phones that I can get calls, texts and take pictures.   Thanks again.

  • How to run applications with options in IDEs like Netbeans

    Hi, I'm new to the Netbeans IDE and I'm wondering how to run applications with options.
    Normally I'd enter the following in the command line:
    java -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=mykeystore -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword="..." TLSServer
    java  -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=mytruststore -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword="..." TLSClient localhostProblem is, I've no idea how to do the same thing in IDE's like Netbeans and I can't any settings to add options like "-Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=mykeystore" before running the application. Any help will be appreciated.

    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

    I'll assume that's a Mac-Intel machine, as I'm not familiar with macbooks or laptops in general.  Obviously, if it were a PPC you would not need Rosetta in the first place.
    Well, here's what I would do:
    I'd re-install CS4 in the hopes that will solve the problem;
    Second, I'd stop listening (and probably even speaking) to the misguided soul who recommended CleanmyMac to me;
    Third, delete all traces of CleanmyMac; and
    Fourth, I'd reinstall the OS and all applications on my machine.
    But that's just me.
