Run & Debug project, build by Ant

Hello,
i'm using Ant to build my project in JDev. But when i try to run or debug my application, JAR libraries were not found - because they were only set in build.xml file.
Is it possible that JDeveloper would read libraries paths from Ant build file? Thank you.

Is it possible that JDeveloper would read libraries paths from Ant build file?
The library paths specified in an Ant build file are accessible only from the build.xml file. For a jdeveloper project specify the library jar files in the project properties.

  • Run - Debug project option is disabled to run the CVI RT application

    Hi,
    I am new to CVI Real time. I have taken the example code LoopTimingRT.prj and LoopTimingHost.prj from CVI samples directory. I am planning to run RT and host in the same desktop PC.  I have created two seperate workspaces for RT and Host with their respective projects.For RT, target is given as local desktop computer, target type selected as dll, in target settings, Run time support is mentioned as Real Time Only.
    In CVI Real Time Help and also in Getting Started with Labwindows/CVI Real Time pdf, it is mentioned like we have select Run -> Debug Project to run the RT application. When i am trying to do that, that option itself is disabled in RT workspace.
    Please can anyone help me.
    Thanks,
    Haari

    Hi,
    As suggested by Raman you can go ahead with same step.

  • Using Ant to run project build.xml file

    Hello,
    I am trying to understand an example Event processing and correlation project (ESPER) written in java. The example source code is provided as a zip file including a build.xml
    The readme says "Simply use the Ant <project>/build.xml to run the example - it should compile and run, print out the simulation"
    I use the netbeans IDE for development which ships with an ant installation. My question is do i need another ant installation to run the example? Ideally i would prefer to run the example in the IDE, any ideas how i can do that?
    your suggestions will be very much appreciated.
    Antana

    The readme says "Simply use the Ant <project>/build.xml to run the example - it should compile and run, print out the simulation"
    The <project>/build.xml is the ant script where you can customize many NetBeans operations, like project construction, javac configurations, etc. If you simply run this script, nothing happens, unless in this script there is some kind of customization, done by the example. I am assuming <project> is the directory of a NetBeans project.
    I use the netbeans IDE for development which ships with an ant installation. My question is do i need another ant installation to run the example? Ideally i would prefer to run the example in the IDE, any ideas how i can do that?
    You do not need another ant installation. The default installation of NetBeans comes with an ant. You can configure NetBeans to use your preferred ant, but you do not need that, because the default ant in NetBeans directory installation do most of things, if not everything, you need. NetBeans 5.5.1 come with Ant 1.7.0 by default, so if you choose you preferred ant, and this ant is also 1.7.0, then nothing different will happen.
    You can perfectly run the example in the NetBeans IDE. You can also debug the example. Maybe what you have to do is configure the NetBeans project, setting the class with the main() method?

  • Library Projects compiled using Flash Builder and ANT have different outputs

    Hi Guys.,
    I am really having hard time to get something work right with RSL projects in Flex 3.2 SDK. Here is my weird problem.
    I have a library projects which has the following settings in Flash Builder
    Link Type : External
    airglobal.swc
    framework.swc
    datavisualization.swc
    rpc.swc
    utilites.swc
    applicationupdater.swc
    applicationupdater_ui.swc
    Link Type: Merged into code
    airframework.swc
    servicemonitor.swc
    Compiler settings
    -directory=true -output=../../lib/core -debug=true -optimize=false -define+=CONFIG::bindingdebug,false -define+=CONFIG::frameworkdebug,false -define+=CONFIG::flexspy,true -define+=CONFIG::debug,true -define+=CONFIG::release,false -define+=CONFIG::logtoconsole,false -allow-source-path-overlap=true  -keep-as3-metadata+=Metadata,DefaultProperty,Required,Event,AssignableTo,Inject,InjectCon structor,Publish,Subscribe,PublishSubscribe,Factory,Init,Destroy,Observe,AsyncInit,Managed Events,MessageDispatcher,MessageHandler,MessageBinding,MessageInterceptor,MessageError,Com mand,CommandComplete,CommandResult,CommandError,CommandStatus,ResourceBinding,Selector,Tar get,Autoremove,Internal,ObjectDefinition,DynamicObject
    When I compile my library projects I get a MyLibraryproject.swc. The SWC has the following files in it
    mx/controls/HTML.png
    mx/core/Windows.png
    library.swf
    Note: airframework.swc and servicemonitor.swc has a many png files and properties files in it. But these properties and png files are not included when compiled in Flash builder.
    But when the same project is compiled using ANT compc task, i get all the png and properties files from airframework.swc and servicemonitor.swc files into my library project SWC file.

    #1, If it compiles then you have no issue. There's no reason at this point not to use 4.6. You should bundle a captive runtime to assure the users computer won't need to have AIR installed at all.
    #2, Papervision is old. Use the Stage3D and/or a wrapper framework. As far as the generic "If I download lots of data will it take the user more time to load it", well, of course. Just don't make the loading experience painful. Entertain them while they way or find ways of displaying data sooner than later. If it's desirable on the web has more to do with the context of the app and the device displaying it. In other words, a phone user would find it easy but obviously not a desktop user.
    #3, Definitely referring you to Google on that one.
    #4, Size always matters, it's common sense. The more you process the harder it is. While I haven't done AR I've used the Microsoft Kinect SDK and ANE and tracking was extremely fast but limited. From what I've seen and your basic built in location and direction hardware on any mobile device you shouldn't have much trouble. Depends on what you're doing.
    #5, This discussion would be way too large for a forum. You'd need to consult a firm experienced in AR development.
    #6, "Applications using the commercial license do not have to provide source code, but must pay a licensing fee. Contact ARToolworks at [email protected] for more information." They will base your price on your product, there is no single price.
    #7, The models could be huge and elaborate or tiny and simple which changes the answer. Consult the answer in #4. Ultimately most people are getting on fast networks with mobile and excessively fast on desktop/wifi. Size matters a lot less than 3 years ago.
    #8, Depends on what you're doing. You have to explain it.

  • Build/Run a PROJECT versus Build/Run An Application

    Hi. Please excuse if this question is explained in the help file.
    Why does one need to run an entire project, and in Java terms what does this mean? Why does it not suffice to have an application class (with a MAIN method of course) to build and run?
    For example, in a given project containing two FORMS, form1.java and formTemp.java, along with an application, myApplication.java that uses an instance of the form1 class only. The formTemp does NOT contain (nor meant to contain) compliable code. Even though myApplication.java is 100% ok, since formTemp contains junk the ide reports on errors within that file, complaining that the PROJECT cannot run. If I remove formTemp from the ide, all runs well.
    I am trying to understand the concept behind this, as far as how jDev wants us to view a project. What I thought was that a project is simply a collection of related classes, allowing me to have as many application classes (as well as others of course) I choose. If one is buggy, why does it affect the others?
    Thank you all.
    -Nat

    If you want to be able to do this, make sure that you don't compile before running/debbugging your application. To turn this setting off (which is on by default), go to the project properties, in the panel named 'Runner/Options', turn off the checkbox 'Make Project' and it should do what you want.
    Please note that you will have to build you project by hand (all the good pieces) before running if you want to take advantage of your latest changes. There is currently no way to Run/Debug a project with errors (some other IDEs allow this, we don't).

  • Project Builder Can it be run as an Exe file at any PC?

    Dear Sir,
    I am planning to make a Project based on my Forms(fmx) and Reports(Rep), database Schema, etc as a whole in a Project.
    Now the question is that Can this project be treated a an Exe file and can be Installed on any PC and shall it work without install Developer(Deployement version) and Personal Oracle(8 or higher)..?
    Please advise in me What options we have in Project building and what are not?
    I search lot through net but could not find Enough material.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Sayeed

    As for as I know, you cannot do the task with the project builder which you'r supposed to do. You cannot create exe file containing FMBs and repoets etc. with the Project Builder to run on another PC.
    The project builder is used to manage the modules FMBs, MMBs, Plls etc.

  • Flash Builder 4 - Run/Debug toolbar disabled

    Hello
    I have worked on my FLEX project for several weeks now. I have the need to have a Team Share now, as other developers will collaborate on this FLEX project.
    I setup SVN and was able to check in changes and verify the changes on the SVN server. That works well.
    I noticed now that I cannot run or debug the project at all. The run/debug toolbar buttons are disabled.
    When I view the Run/Debug settings under Project Properties, it is empty.
    What must I do to get my project back into debug, and the ability to even run it??? Help??

    You're in the SVN Repository Exploring perspective, which looks a lot like the normal Flash perspective, but it isn't quite the same.  Go to the Window menu and choose Perspective -> Flash.

  • Running a project by clicking a icon without running oracle form builder

    Hi,
    How can I Run a project by clicking a icon without running oracle form builder?????
    Regards
    Ashraf

    Hi!
    For forms 6i client/server just create a shortcut for your application like:
    %forms_home%\bin\ifrun60.exe your_formand set the working path to your forms folder.
    For web forms create a shortcut with the url to your server/pc like this:
    http://pcname:port/forms/frmservlet?config=your_configand create a config entry in your %forms_home%/forms/server/formsweb.cfg
    for setting the modulename (fmx) and the working path for your application.

  • Run Project Builds (compiles) instead of running

    For development of a standard Java application:
    A typical practice of mine is to edit some code, then build / compile it and then hit "run project". Most of the time this works as expected. But when I'm on some classes instead of running it just builds/compiles again. Why does this occur sometimes but not other times? It seems once a class is stuck it stays "stuck". If I switch my editor pane to a different class and run again it will work fine. (but switching the editor pane back to the stuck class again and run invokes build not run)
    I do have a default run target set. And I have "Attempt to run active file before default" also set (which is handy and a nice feature). Also on "Tool Settings" I do have before running "Make Project" set.
    This is with JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0.3984

    Yes the log window shows the results of the build / compiling.
    The classes are not runnable and are not intended to be runnable. My expectation is that when I invoke run project that if the active file can't be run (doesn't have a main class) then the project itself (the default run target) will execute. And 90% of the time this works.
    I'm just confused if I'm doing something wrong or if JDeveloper is just quirky.

  • Jar not running is sarge and apache-ant  shows error of package not found

    Hello,
    First of all I am not a java programmer. I work in C/C++/C#.
    Currently I am dealing a game written in java (1.5) using netbeans 5.5.0 under windows xp. My target is to compile in my development machine and run in the clients machine. everything works fine in windows xp. I open the netbeans ide, load the necessary class libraries, build the project and run it. it runs without any problem.
    The problem begins when I run the same project from linux (fedora). it doest not run. It shows some error.
    <error platform="fedora 7">

    But when I open this same project in netbeans and resolve the dependencies with class libraries it works ok after compiling.
    I can run it from console (java -jar ...)
    And again the same source tree shows the following error when I am in windows !!! (by java -jar ... command)

    then I tried using ant to compile.
    doing only `#ant compile` where build.xml resides does the compilation.
    after that I try to run it (by java -jar ...). again the above error shows up.
    What would I do?
    If I compile it with netbeans in machine A then it runs well in A but not in machine B.
    If I compile it with ANT in machine A then it doesn't run in A, no chance for machine B.

    used for execution of your tasks. These targets are usually executed
    before and after some main targets. They are:

    -post-init: called after initialization of project properties
    -pre-compile: called before javac compilation

    -pre-jar: called before JAR building
    -post-jar: called after JAR building
    -post-clean: called after cleaning build products
    (Targets beginning with '-' are not intended to be called on their own.)
    Example of inserting an obfuscator after compilation could look like this:
    <target name="-post-compile">
    <obfuscate>
    <fileset dir="${build.classes.dir}"/>
    </obfuscate>
    </target>
    For list of available properties check the imported
    nbproject/build-impl.xml file.
    Another way to customize the build is by overriding existing main targets.
    The targets of interest are:
    -init-macrodef-javac: defines macro for javac compilation
    -init-macrodef-junit: defines macro for junit execution
    -init-macrodef-debug: defines macro for class debugging
    -init-macrodef-java: defines macro for class execution
    -do-jar-with-manifest: JAR building (if you are using a manifest)
    -do-jar-without-manifest: JAR building (if you are not using a manifest)
    run: execution of project
    -javadoc-build: Javadoc generation
    test-report: JUnit report generation
    An example of overriding the target for project execution could look like this:
    <target name="run" depends="NetBeansApplication-impl.jar">
    <exec dir="bin" executable="launcher.exe">
    <arg file="${dist.jar}"/>
    </exec>
    </target>
    Notice that the overridden target depends on the jar target and not only on
    the compile target as the regular run target does. Again, for a list of available
    properties which you can use, check the target you are overriding in the
    nbproject/build-impl.xml file.
    -->
    <target name="-post-jar">
    <jar update="true" destfile="${dist.jar}">
    <zipfileset src="${libs.swing-layout.classpath}"/>
    <zipfileset src="${libs.addMoney.classpath}"/>
    <zipfileset src="${libs.NormalWindow.classpath}"/>
    </jar>

    Hello,
    I am trying to run my annotation processor using ant.
    I already built the processor, the javax.annotation.processor.Processor file is in the correct place with the correct content.
    The jar with the processor is in the classpath (i can see it in ant -v), but it does not process my classes. in fact, i get the warning:
    warning: Annotation processing without compilation requested but no processors were found.Do i have to specify -processor or -processorpath or can i just leave it to the default classpath scanning?When -processor is not given, a service loader is used to find the annotation processors (if any). In addition to the class files of the process, to allow your processor to be found as a service, make sure you've also provided the needed META-INF data in the jar file. The general service file format is described in
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/ServiceLoader.html
    That said, I'd recommend setting an explicit processor path separate from your general classpath.

  • Using the Netbeans GUI within a Project with existing Ant Script

    I cannot seem to figure out how to use the Netbeans GUI in my Project with existing Ant Script. Is this possible? I have no problem creating GUI interfaces in a java Application, but attempting to make a new JFrame Form gives the error: package org.jdesktop.layout does not exist, and I have not been able to find a way around this. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    OK, I think I am on the right track, but I don't understand why I am still getting this error:

  • Running debug on Device

    Flash Builder 4.5.1 Standard
    Windows 7 Ultimate & Home Premium
    Latest AIR 2.7.0.19530 on all devices
    Viewsonic GTablet, Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread
    Been developing an app for quite awhile and running the app on my tablet with no issues.  Then last week I updated AIR on on my devices (including the tablet) to the latest version.
    Now, when I select 'run on device' it compiles, installs the xxxxx-debug file on the tablet.  BUT as soon as it tries to run it I get an AIR error.  If I disconnect the USB and try to run the newly installed '-debug' file it errors out again and again.  BUT, if I reboot the tablet then all is fine in the world.  The debug file runs just fine.
    The only difference in my setup is the new AIR file cause the problems started right after I updated.
    I am open to any and all suggestions on what the heck to do about this.

    Updating the SDK fixed the problem, and introduced another....
    When I "run on device", the build & install process runs.  Flash Builder then pops up an alert telling me:
    The problem is I just updated AIR on the tablet (8/17/2011, 9am Central time) and the latest version available is 2.7.1.1961 (Amazon App Store - no Google Marketplace access with the tablet)...
    If I select "Yes", the program compiles, installs and runs correctly on the tablet.  If I select "No", then I get this error on the tablet:  "The application Adobe AIR (process com.adobe.air) has stopped unexpectedly.  Please try again." with a "Force Close" button as the only option.  Clicking the FC button brings the same error message up again.  After the second click on the FC button, the screen goes black.  I then can hit the Home button to get back to my main screen.
    Then, like I originally posted, if I try to run the "xxxx-debug" file I get the same error messages and force closures.  But, if I reboot the tablet and then run the "xxxxx-debug" file which was installed, it works just fine.  No errors, no force closures.  AND it still only has AIR V2.7.1.1961 installed on the tablet.
    IF - the lack of upgrade process is because of lack of access to the Google Marketplace, then where can I get the V2.7.1.40 version of the AIR.apk to install on my tablet?  Next - if this is the case with all tablets without marketplace access, how do I include that with my project?  Or do I have to since it works just fine with the 2.7.1.1961 version????????

    When I try and deploy the project it wont deploy.
    Any ideas on what i can do to fix it?
    Urgent help please as I have to hand in the project today!
    Thanks soo much in advance,
    Wesley

    Hello Wesley,
    you will need the jdbc driver for your database.
    You will find it on http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/3.1.html
    Download it and put it in your glassfish classpath, e. g. [glassfish-root]/domains/domain1/lib/ext and restart the server.

    I am trying to run a struts (v 1.2.9) based project in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0.The struts version in Jdeveloper is 1.1.
    when i am trying to run the index.jsp i get an error:
    org.xml.sax.SAXNotRecognizedException: http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/dynamic
    I think the XML parser version is a problem.Jdeveloper has OracleXMLParser v2 and i think the XML Parser apis used in building the project is different.I have placedcustiom xml parser apis and the xerces.jar in the jdevbin/jdev/lib folder and included these jar in the bootclasspath as follows:
    AddVMOption -Xbootclasspath/p:../lib/xml-apis.jar
    AddVMOption -Xbootclasspath/p:../lib/xerces-2.6.2.jar
    But even then the Exception persists.Is the syntax for Xbootclasspath wrong or i need to place these custom api's in some other location of jdev.
    I am not being able to figure out the XMl parser problem.
    Any help wud be great.
    Is it that i cant run the project in jdeveloper.Just to mention the application is deployed in OC4J on the server and runs fine..But its only that i kant run it locally through jdeveloper

    I am also facing the same issue on my laptop. I searched for forum but no luck.
    appreciate if anybody can throw some light on this.
