Run function on component load / focus

hi
I want to run a function every time a component is opened /
focused upon.
at the moment I am running the function with the
"creationComplete" property which works fine, although it only runs
when the component is first created, whereas I want to run the
function every time the component is opened and re-opened etc......
is there some sort of event call or something that can make
this possible.......
any suggestions?

Something like this might work.
Create the function you want to call:

On the component for which you want to run the function on
focus set the property focusIn like:
<mx:TextInput focusIn="doFocusStuff()" .../>

Run function in component from Main Application

Hello all.
I have my main.mxml application, that has a component inside of it. The component is called <ns1:record/> with an id of "rec".
This component has a function inside of it named doConnect(event:MouseEvent).
Now i want to be able to add an event listener to a button on the Main.mxml that will run a function inside the component when clicked.
I have managed to add an event listener to the Main.mxml that triggers a function held within the Main.mxml when a button clicked inside the component is clicked.
I did this by using this code.

No matter what i try thou i cant get this to work the other way around.
What i need help with is - clicking a button within the Main.mxml to run a function inside the component Record.

Kernel_task running above 500% CPU load on my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.9.4

I recently upgrade my Macbook Pro to OSX 9.0.4 and the system is running sluggishly slow, Activity Monitor showing kernel_task always running above 500% CPU load, system fan always running loud at startup but laptop is not overheating. Below is the EtreCheck report, hoping if anyone can help me fix this issue, much appreciate it. Btw, I have done the SMC reset, but nothing has helped.

The kernel is using excessive processor cycles. Below are some possible causes for the condition.
Throttling
When it gets high temperature readings from the hardware, or a low-voltage reading from the battery, the kernel may try to compensate by interrupting the processor(s) to slow them down and reduce power consumption. This condition can be due to:
☞ a buildup of dust on the logic board
☞ high ambient temperature
☞ a worn-out or faulty battery in a portable
☞ the malfunction of a cooling fan, a temperature sensor, a voltage sensor, or some other internal component
Note that if the problem is caused by a sensor, there may be no actual overheating or undervoltage.
If the computer is portable, test with and without the AC adapter connected. If kernel_task hogs the processor only on battery power, the fault is in the battery or the logic board. If it happens only on AC power, charging is causing the machine to heat up. That may be normal on some models. CPU usage should drop when charging is complete.
Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, though not very reliable, is sometimes able to detect a fault. For more thorough hardware testing, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
If nothing is wrong with the hardware, then whatever you can do to improve cooling may help.
Installed software
User-installed software that includes a device driver or other kernel code may thrash the kernel. That category includes virtualization software, such as Parallels and VMware, as well as most commercial "anti-virus" products. Some system-monitoring applications, such as "iStat," can also contribute to the problem. You can test for this possibility by completely disabling or removing the software according to the developer's instructions, or starting in safe mode. Note, however, that disabling a system modification without removing it or testing in safe mode may not be as easy as you think.
Corrupt NVRAM or SMC data
Sometimes the problem is cleared up by resetting the NVRAM or the SMC.
External display
Connecting an external LCD display to some MacBook Pro models while the lid is open may cause this issue. If applicable, test by closing the lid or disconnecting the display. You might get better results with a newer LED display.

RUN FUNCTION PANEL error

Hi, experts,
I'm trying to execute "RUN FUNCTION PANEL" on CVI. During constructing driver, I checked the function panel by this command, but it was failed with error message, Interactive Execution error - Unresolved symbol: _Math_Average.
I do the material in the basic CVI text, and it is very simple function. And additionally, it ran correctly when I completed the driver, then I believe that programming should be correct.
So I'm struggling with editing any settings, but I could not find the solution.
Does anybody have any solution or hint?

The most obvious solution for this problem would be to enable the Interactive Execution window environment options found in Options » Environment » Interactive Window. These options specify whether project files or loaded instrument drivers are used by the Interactive Execution window. Otherwise, if the corresponding option isn't enabled, the Interactive Execution window fails to link with the symbol from your instrument driver, and you get an unresolved symbol error.

Component Loader resizing external swfs

Hi. Fairly new to Flash. I'm putting together my first full
Flash site. The tutorial I'm following along with for some
assistance is written for Flash8, but I'm using CS3. To try to
minimize differences, I'm doing my files in Actionscript 2.
I've used an instance of the component Loader to load
external swfs (my pages) into the content portion of my main swf.
The problem I've run into is the loaded swfs are showing up at
different sizes. For ease of layout, the document sizes of the
external swfs are exactly the same as the mx.controls.Loader
instance on my main swf. But when they load, one is coming in
slightly larger than the original size, one nearly a quarter of the
size it should be. Everything else works.
In playing around to try to troubleshoot, I made one change
to my home swf (the external that loads immediately with a
Loader.contentPath command. This one had been loading slightly
enlarged), I changed a guide layer so it was a regular layer, no
longer a guide, then it loaded at the right size. When I changed
the layer back to a guide, it loaded somewhat enlarged again. I
tried turning off the guide layer on the other swf that was loading
small, it didn't help. I'm going nuts trying to figure it out.
I thought maybe it might have to do with the fact that some
elements start outside the document frame of the external swfs and
slide in, so I masked all layers to the size of the document. That
didn't help. Is there some scale setting for the Loader component
that I'm not aware of? That would cause the external swf to scale
up or down to fit the size of the Loader instance?

Thanks. I tried a few more searches in Flash's Help for
Loader scaling and resize and found the scaleContent property, was
just coming back here to say nevermind and saw your response.
Sometimes it takes writing out the problem to spark more
troubleshooting inspiration.
BTW, changing Loader.scaleContent to false did solve my
problem. :)

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Component loader & external swf : how send parameter ?

hello all,
I have a simple problem I have not been able to solve.
I use a compnent loader to load an external swf.
I need to pass a parameter to the swf to make it run
properly, which I named 'url_xml' and in which I provide the name
of an XML file.
the component loader is named 'diaporama'.
the following code works :
_root.diaporama.contentPath = "my_swfplayer.swf";
BUT I need to send a parameter, so I tried :
_root.diaporama.contentPath =
"my_swfplayer.swf?url_xml=filexml.xml";
It does not work. It tries to load a file named
my_swfplayer.swf?url_xml=filexml.xml
instead of loading my_swfplayer.swf with the param url_xml
whose value is filexml.xml.
Can somebody help ?

Run function and Scene issue

I am new to javafx and this is my first program in general in a couple years...now that the disclaimer is out of the way here goes:
I am calling my javafx program from a java client and I am having trouble with the javafx scene being displayed. I have the following code:

I have added some print outs in the past and it appears that the run function is called fine, but once I reach the code "design.setItems()" it does not appear to go any further. I have try and catch around everything for an exception, but I get nothing. I have the run function declared outside of my MediaPlayer class and I am trying to understand that whole concept of code outside of the class within the file.
some other things to note: I am making the javafx call on a new thread created in my java code. when I close my java window then the javafx code seems to proceed past "design.setItems()" and the scene displays and everything is fine thereafter...oh, except that I had to close my java program...weird.
I have tried putting the run function within the class, but the nothing seems to happen at all then.
Ideas? Question?

The javafx doesn't have main method as Java has.
So javafx has provided the function run() to execute the program. If you put the function run on your any class suppose 'A' then while calling the Class 'A' like : A{} in javafx then it would directly run your function run() and make the object too. But when you want only the object to be loaded then you would better not to include function run() on your class.
For variables,
the variable declared on function run is only accessible for function run . It's totally private to others.

After loading 8.0b Program won't load.XRE functions couldn't load.

After downloading 8.0b program wouldn't run.Said couldn't load XRE functions.

Tried the clean install to no avail. Also, disabled virtualization with negative results. Also tried to reinstall Version 3.6 with same negative results. Finally after uninstalling all and cleaning registry, was able to load version 5.0 and it works.

Running Function Module in Background with Update Task is not working

Hello Friends,
I have a "Z" Report Program where I am running this Report in Background using JOB_OPEN, JOB_SUBMIT, JOB_CLOSE. I am calling this in BADI.
In this Report I am calling another Function Module PRICES_POST which is a standard Function Module and in this FM there is another FM 'CKML_UPDATE_MATERIAL_PRICE IN UPDATE TASK'. Now when I am running the BADI these values are not being updated.
Friends I would like to know whether can we run Function Modules which are included with UPDATE TASK as Background Job program?
Kindly help me in providing your valuable suggestions in proceeding further.

What's the authorization to run function CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN

let's say, i wrote a report to change the structure of a BOM, using function CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN to open the bom, followed by function CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN and CSAP_MAT_BOM_CLOSE to change the bom and close the bom.
well, I could use this report while other could not.
When I used others sap account to run function CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN in SE37, I was warned I didn't have the authorization to run this function.
so i want to know the authorization to use this function.

Hi,
I think your event handler "StageChangez()" is called before your Panel title is set. Try first change title, then change currentState.
Oh yes my mistake, you are adding it when state changes. You can put your Panel's title change in StageChangez() and after that you can do some actions.

Error when running function

I'm using Oracle XE Beta 1.
I can create and deploy .NET stored procedures without any errors or warnings.
But when I run the function from ODT I get the following errors:
Run Function - [email protected]
ORA-20100: The parameter is incorrect.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CLR", line 143
ORA-06512: at "HR.ADD99", line 7
ORA-06512: at line 1
The code that I used for my stored procedure I borrowed from a webcast and it compiled and deployed just fine.

The return and parameter datatypes that I specified in the deployment wizard are both BINARY_INTEGER. So I don't see why I am getting this error.

There's a bug where if you have .NET 2.0 installed on the same machine as the database you will get this error. If that is the case, you'll need to uninstall .NET 2.0 on that machine until the next release of XE comes out.
(This will also affect Oracle Standard and Enterprise on windows)
