Run JavaFX packaged app in trial mode?

Hi,
I have an app that I need to put additional permissions to using java fx native packing. that is,
The app should run for a specified trial period only.Say 30 days and license should be expired automatically.
Is it possible to do that in the build.xml file itself ??
Thanks

I do not believe that is in the realm of JavaFX or the build process, that's more in how you approach your licensing engine.
I tried TrueLicense, and thought is was excellent. It handles temporary and permanent license.
For reasons of my own, in the end however I ended up developing a simple license engine for myself. I have the program create a 30 day license when it installs, and each time the program starts (and a few other random spots) it checks to see if license is still valid. After 30 days it offers to let you install a new license, and if you close that window without installing, it shuts down the program.

  • Bought a package, still in Trial mode?

Bought a package for around £15. Had an email with my Order number and haven't had any emails since. Started with a trial version, but I now only have one day left of my trial - I tried to enter my number into the 'license software' code but I still haven't had any other emails. The money has already been taken out of my account when I received the order number.
How do I fix this problem?

Locally I have 32 bit windows and the server is 64 bit. When I try to change the provider locally to SQLNCLI11.1, the connection test succeeds but when I close the package and reopen it the provider is set to 10.1 again. Do I need to install a driver locally

  • Current CC subscription turns into trial mode every other month... How to fix this once and for all?

Current my current always promptly paid CC subscription regularly turns into Trial mode. This means I can use Apps in trial mode (how nice...), ask me to get a paid subscription, and at the same time happily charges my credit card. This happens every other months. Then I have to discuss this with their agents, which usually takes days to weeks, because they don't know what's going on. How on earth can this be fixed one and for all?!

  • CC subscription is current, but today all CC apps run only in TRIAL mode!?!

This morning I get into the office, on a heavy deadline, and I'm screwed.
My Creative Cloud membership is current, but suddenly, without any warning, ALL CC apps run only in TRIAL MODE.  Gee thanks, Adobe.
    What do I do now?
    Thanks for any help.

Same problem here--I was on deadline, lost access to all my Adobe CS6 applications. According to the Adobe support tech I spoke with, the licensing process is corrupted and they're working on a fix. From the looks of the complaints on this forum, they've been working on it for quite awhile.
Seems that IF your computer happens to be disconnected from the web when Adobe's cloudserver decides to send the "yup, he's paid up for this month" message, the system fails and your software shifts over to a 30-day trial. I was (seriously now) assured that all I had to do was make sure my computer was connected and ready for Adobe on my particular biiling cycle day (the 15th of the month) and then this would never happen.
To fix the issue, I should click the "licensing" button, provide my Adobe ID and password, and all would be well until the following month. That worked for InDesign, didn't work for Photoshop or Fireworks. Failing that, I should uninstall and reinstall and relicense everything...and all would be well until the following month.
I don't have time for these games; when I buy software I expect it to be available and I don't see why renting it should be any different. At the moment I'm out $30 worth of access.
Fortunately, I'd never uninstalled my old CS5.5 collection. I'm sending a note to Adobe telling them to cancel my cloud subscription, and going back to plain old licensed software. If I ever need to upgrade CS apps again, I'll do them as-needed and stay the heck away from the cloud. Cloud SaS would be nice, but Adobe needs to get it right before they sell it.

  • Running App-V 5.0 package in read-only mode.

    Hello.
I have sequenced Firefox with an older version of Java that is used to run a web application.
Is there a way to run the package in read-only/sandbox mode, or so that changes done during the session will be discarded as the package is closed?

    Hi,
not directly: App-V itself doesn't have a 'entirely ready-only' mode.
There is one setting in the Sequencer to enforce NTFS access permissions inside a package (so that user can/can't write to the virtual C:\Program files or alike). This setting has been intorduced with HF4 for App-V 5 SP2. Before that, the ACLs were enforced.
However this doesn't help to address your requirement.
What you could do it to remove user-made changes when the application closes. (so remove the reg values in HKCU, remove modified files in Appdata, Localappdata..), but this isn't easy to achive, as the App-V scripting interface does not allow to run post-shutdown
scripts inside the protected environment (so, you can't trigger anything that launches _after_ firefox ended but that still has access to the virtualized HKCU\Software\Mozilla|Firefox locations.
There are some workarounds, like to remove the resources from the _redirected_ location afterwards (HKCU/Software/AppV... somewhere, see http://www.virtualvibes.co.uk/where-the-app-v-client-puts-stuff/ for
the general locations) or you could use a 'wrapper' application that is running inside the virtual environment and, launches Firefox itself and cleans up stuff after FFox ended. Both are not really nice.
You could be able to redirect some settings to "non-appv'ed" locations outside of the virtual environment, but this basically is only usabel for files/folders (not reg values)
If you are using a User Profile Management solution, you should be able to tell that to either ignore certain applications or to explicitely clean up stuff. If the UPM solution supports App-V 5, it should be able to handle it.
Note that App-V does not allow the user to change _any_ 'programmatic' files inside the virtual environment (like .js); see http://blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2013/10/24/app-v-5-on-that-issue-with-firefox-where-you-cannot-save-preferences.aspx.

  • Photoshop says it's running in Trial mode.

    Hi there,
10 days ago I purchased the Lightroom+Photoshop package. I went on to install that on my Mac Pro but now everytime I open Photoshop it pops open the Adobe Application Manager who reminds my that there are X days remaining on my Photoshop trial. Lightroom works without problems.
I can click on either License this software or Contintue Trial. When I select license this software I get the message that login is required. It already knows my Adobe ID. When I click on the Sign In button it just goes to the next screen that asks for a serial number which I obviously don't have since it's a CC product and we don't get serial numbers.
The strange part is, I also installed it on my MacBook Pro and it works flawlessly there. It activates/registers without issues.
Yesterday I removed all the CC software with the provided Adobe CC removal tools. I also manually deleted every trace of Adobe files I could find on my system (application support files in both the Libraries, caches etc). I then went on to reinstall the software but the issue remains. Lightroom works, Photoshop keeps claiming it's running in trial mode.
I searched for a solution to this problem on the internet and these forums at first. There are a lot of people having this issue but no real solution is given (or no solution that actually works for me). It seems to be a somewhat common issue unfortunately.
One of the things I read is that it could be a language issue, when installing the software in a different language than your OS. My OS is in Dutch but I installed the software in English international (because I'm not used to a Dutch language photoshop, I get all lost if it's not in English ). But on the other hand, on my laptop the situation is exactly the same. Dutch OSX, English CC install. And yet that works perfectly.
Also my hosts file is clean, nothing is blocking communication to Adobe servers. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting my account from inside the Creative Cloud menu app's settings to no avail.
It frustrates me to no end that the almost exact same setup works on my laptop and not on my desktop machine. Especially because the Mac Pro is my work machine and I rarely, if ever, use Photoshop on my laptop.
I really don't want to wait and see what happens in 20 days when the trial runs out. I don't know what to do anymore after doing that clean install (unless I missed just that crucial file that causes the issue..). Maybe it's an issue on the CC authentication server's end. Maybe I tried reinstalling too many times and it now thinks I'm running it on more than 2 computers? But that seems unlikely.
I'm running OSX 10.9.2 on both machines.

  • Creative Cloud Apps Telling Me I am in Trial Mode. Help!

First time I have had an issue with my Creative Cloud subscription apps. My account is in good standing since May. On a Mac running 10.6.8
As of this morning, when I try opening any of my Creative Cloud apps, I receive a notification saying "Sign In Required" -- We will now register your trial to your Adobe ID.
I installed the most recent updates on Monday, Dec. 17. After installation, I had no problems opening the software.
This morning, I launched Adobe Photoshop CS6 (ver 13.1.0) with no problems. Then, when I went to launch Adobe Illustrator (ver 16.2.0) I received the dialog saying "Sign In Required" for all my apps.
When I click the "sign in" button, it opens the apps in "tryout mode". When I quit and reopen Photoshop, InDesign, Illlustrator there is a window asking me to either license the software, or continue the trial. When I click "License This Software," it tells me sign in is required so I hit "sign in." But this then prompts me for a "serial number" -- which Creative Cloud subscribers don't have. And now all of my software is doing this.
    Please...any help would be appreciated!!

Spoke with a very nice gentleman from Adobe Creative Cloud support.
He suggested, when you get to the "Sign In" page, to click "Not my Adobe ID" and it will take you to a page to sign in with your Adobe ID.
    This worked!
He said that the recent updates had caused a glitch that was a "known issue."
    Hope this helps someone else!

  • Can't run JavaFX app as a jar file from command line

I'm trying to build a JavaFX app from scratch (that is, by including the jar file from the JavaFX SDK rather than by using the special JavaFX project type from NetBeans). Unsatisfied link means that Java is trying to access a native library, but it cannot be found. As to why this error is being thrown, here is my guess:
If you open up one of the sample jars with a zip viewer, you will see that the Manifest file has the following entries:
    >
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    JavaFX-Version: 2.0
    implementation-vendor: Oracle
    implementation-title: BrickBreaker
    implementation-version: 1.0
    JavaFX-Application-Class: brickbreaker.Main
    Created-By: JavaFX Packager
    Main-Class: com/javafx/main/Main
    >
In other words, a JavaFX project works a bit differently than a normal Java project. com/javafx/main/Main is used as the Main class and your "Main" class is called later.
If you are trying to build this from a normal Java project, then com/javafx/main/Main will not be created and it will call your Main class right away. Thus, whatever setup is needed to run JavaFX will not occur.

  • Why is my paid Creative Cloud Membership running in Trial Mode?

I have applied suggestion found in Help and Forum. Nothing Works.
    Suggestion 1.
Unistall Adobe Creative Cloud reboot computer reinstall. Sign into Adobe with account. Done. Ground Hog Day. Same result. Trial Mode still
    Suggestion 2.
    Download and run Appliaction Manager.
Deactivate software. Not possiable. Option NOT - note again NOT available. So why does the Help Page suggest an option that does not exist.
I cannot believe how out of touch you guys are.

You are talking to other forum members, here, although Adobe may peek in from time to time.
Deactivating is a possibility with PS-CS6 and other non-Cloud products.  Without knowing what Help page you’re viewing it’s hard to judge how applicable it is.
Deactivating a Cloud-licensed app is as simple as signing out of the Create Cloud Desktop app.  Presumably you’ve done this multiple times.
If you haven’t yet, do a right-click Run as Administrator on the PS-CC shortcut to make sure it has complete access to update things.
Try a modified version of Suggestion 2, after uninstalling, run the CC Cleaner app, then sign out of the CC Desktop app, then reboot and sign into the CC Desktop app if necessary, then reinstall.
The CC Cleaner app is available, here:

Checked my Account details, there were some fields empty. Filled in the missing info.
All apps now could be downloaded from CC desktop.

I think I had done all your suggestions you have on your help pages.
