Run the query with previous weeks date automatically

Hi Guyz,
I need to dynamically populate the previous weeks date value every week,
i.e Run the query every Monday automatically, with previous weeks date value .
Is there any SAP Exit which I can use ??

If you are thinking of re-running the previous week's queries automatically in the front-end, then U. Tummers is correct. You can create new columns alongside your existing query if you so wish and use your restrictions with an offset sepending on how far back you'd like to go.

SQL statement running balance query with previous balance taken into account

Hi Guys
I have a SQL statement which caclulates the running balance
for a list of transactions in a transactions table. This SQL
statement is as follows:
SELECT transID, debit, credit,
(SELECT SUM(debit-credit)
FROM transactions as D1
WHERE D1.transID <= D0.transID) AS balance
FROM transactions AS D0
The only problem I'm having is that I have to display
transactions between a particular date range. I have for eg.
transID, transDate, debit, credit fields in my db.
However the problem I'm having is that when the transaction
records are pulled out for the specified date range the balances
are only calculated for those records. I need someway of having a
balance b/f (brought forward) so that the selected records use that
as a 'starting' balance and then calculate the running balance as
normal.
Any easy solutions?

You'd need to determine the b/f then apply it against the
transaction records when they are pulled for a date range. So if
the date range is
Feb 1st, 2009 -> Feb 28th, 2009
You'd need to also get the previous balance in a separate
query, then use it to correctly display the running balance when
you output the date range.
I suppose a simpler way involving a little more DB work (and
possibly lots of coding) is to store the current balance as well
with each transaction; then when performing a date range you'd have
the balance as well and not have to calculate it on the fly.

No Data Shown because an error occurred while running the query

Discoverer 10gR2 using Plus on Firefox:
I have one workbook. The first sheet summarizes by Vendor. Parameters are Type, Category, Vendor (all optional) and mandatory date range.
The second sheet summarized by Vendor and Model. Parameters are Type, Category, Vendor, Model (all optional) and mandatory date range.
All parameters except the extra "Model" are shared between the sheets.
When I run the Vendor sheet, parameters pop up, I put in dates and leave the rest blank. Results display. Yeah!
When I then run the Model sheet, parameters pop up again (because it has one more parameter). Dates carry forward, leave the rest blank. I get the error No Data Shown because an error occurred while running the query. Refreshing does not help.
If I click back to the Vendor sheet, then come back to the Model sheet, no parameter screen and the query runs.
Booooo.
Have tried multiple DBs, multiple EULs, multiple underlying data sources, replacing the offending parameter with a whole new one, no difference.
Has any body run into this behavior? Is there an answer?

What about trying this. On the parameter definition, you have a section on the bottom left of the Parameters window, called "Do you want to allow different parameter values for each worksheet?". When you say in your posting that all but the Model parameter is shared, I assume you mean that you have set this section value to "Allow only one set of paratmeter values for all worksheets". Try setting this to "Allow different parameter values for each worksheet". See if that might make a difference for you. If that works, you may have to leave the option at this, as the lesser of your evils. From my limited experience, the "Allow only one set of parameter mvalues for all worksheets" is a bit flaky in how it works. So I pretty much have gone to always saying to allow different parameter values for each worksheet. Hope this helps a bit. If worse comes to worse, if you have not done so already, log a service request with support and see what they say. Good luck.

Try doing this way...
First Create a Sel Screen varient, 'ZTEST123' in this case
Report ZTEST.
parameters:
w_kunnr type kna1-kunnr,
w_flag type c no-display.
start-of-selection.
if w_flag eq ' '.
submit ZTEST USING SELECTION-SET 'ZTEST123' with w_flag eq 'X'.
endif.
end-of-selection.
write: w_kunnr.

Previous week Dates

Hi all
Please help in writing a query to get the previous week data.
If the input date is sysdate then it should return values for previous week Monday to Sunday.
Whatever the input it should get the value for previous week from Monday to Sunday.

IW is the formatter for the "Iso-Week"
ISO = international standard organization

Main thing is that it will always start with monday. The weeknumber might be different then for ww format. This doesn't matter in your case. But you migh want to do some experiments with to_char(sysdate,'IW'), to_char(sysdate,'WW').
Trunc(<datevale>,'IW') will cut the date back to the first day of this iso-week.
select to_char(sysdate-365,'IW') IW , to_char(sysdate-365,'WW') WW from dual;

See the Customer Exit Code, you need have only 0CALDAY incube you can get the data.
ZCDAY = Use input Variable on 0CALDAY
ZFDFW & ZLDFW are Customer Exit variables on 0CALDAY.
To Get the First day of First Week in given Date

Note: In this way you need to calcukate, here I'm dividing the month into weeks based on 7 days this is my company policy, so you need to check with your Functional team how they divides a week in a month.

Database Error while running the query.

Hi,
While running the query in webi rich client i am having a "database error IES 10901 and WIS 10901" , it is showing that the data source name not found and default driver is not specified.
I am trying to generate report from efashion universe which is in .unx format, same client version and universe is running fine on another machine (webi rich client).
PS: The above mentioned universe is running fine on my BI launch pad, the problem is with webi rich client only.

Which Database your are using .
As explained by Yuvraj You need to install driver for specific database .
Ask for client or (your Database ) driver from administrator .
After installation you can see your database Driver in following path
Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools\Data Sources (ODBC)
See in Drivers Tab .
If you are using oracle & client is install on your system then Check TNS Names File in NETWORK folder .

How to run the query in screen painter

Hope u have reached Screen painter interface,
1. Click 'Add Grid' from tool bar.
2. Go to 'Collections' tab in 'Properties' window.
3. Choose 'Data Tables' from the Drop down list.
4. Click 'New' found at the bottom of the Properties Window(same window)
5. U'll find the place to insert ur query.
6. U can rename the table name from 'DT_0'
7. Choose type as 'Query'
8. Clear content from box 'Query'
9. Enter ur query there. Dont forget to Click 'SET'
10. Go to Preview option from tool bar.
now ur query will be displayed as table format.
Note: First try with simple query b4 going for linking option.

InfoCube aggregates are <b>separate database tables</b>.
Aggregates are more summarized versions of the base InfoCube. There is an aggregate fact table, e.g. /BIC/E1##### ===> /BIC/E100027. If you don't automatically compress your aggregates, there would also be an F fact table /BIC/F100027,
There are aggregate dimension tables that are also created, e.g. /BIC/D1000271. If a dimension for the aggregate is the same as the base InfoCube, then there is no aggregate dimension table for that dimension and the queries will use that dimension table from the base cube.
As long as the agggregate is active, the BW automatically will use it instead of the base cube as long as the aggregate contains all the characteristics necessary to satisfy the query.
You can verify the aggregate's usage by looking at info in table RSDDSTAT - it will show the Aggregate number if used (will not show aggregate usage for queries on a MultiProvider if you are on a more recent Svc Pack).
You can also run the query thru RSRT, using the Exec & Debug option - check the "Display aggregate found" option and it will display what aggregate(s) it found and which one(s) it used.

DA0003: Exception CS, Unable to run the query execute

Hi all,
I try to use a stored procedure as data provider but i get this error
DA0003: Exception CS, Unable to run the query execute
I use BusObj Full Client 6.5 pointing to SQL2005.
I choose stored procedure as data providers of a new report, then choose the Oledb connection to the database in which the sproc is saved (this sproc executes some queries, all on the same db). Then I fill in the parameter of the sproc and when i click OK I get this error.
The sp works fine if executed from a query tool. Basically it queries BusObj Security Domain in order to get the documents a single user has linked (both enabled and disabled). It doesn't do nothing exceptionall except using some table variables... I tried also with this simple func:
CREATE FUNCTION [dbo].[Yesterday] (@date int)
RETURNS int AS BEGIN
   DECLARE @Yesterday int
   SET @yesterday = convert(varchar, DATEADD(dd, -1, convert(datetime, str(@date), 112) ), 112)
   RETURN(@Yesterday)
END;
But it returns the same error!
I tried changing middleware to the DB from oleDB to ODBC but in this case it doesn't prompt me for parameters and when i click execute it fails saying the sproc expects a parameter...
I have no idea of what the cause may be... Can anybody help please?

Could you please test the following solutions to resolve the issue.
Solution1:
Test the issue by inserting the following parameter in .SBO file.
<Parameter Name="Force SQLExecute">Always</Parameter> .
Solution2
Just put SET NOCOUNT OFF in the end of the stored procedure SQL.
If the above doesnu2019t works then please try the following solution.
Solution3
Make the new connection from the scratch using ODBC connection and test the issue.

Data Error in the Query/Report after selective data deletion for infocube

Hi Experts,
Please advise what i was missing and what went wrong...
I got a Query (Forecast) on a Multicube...which is based on 2 Infocubes with Aggregates...
As i identified some data discrepency..yesteraday i performed selective data deleation on one of the Infocube
and executed report yesteraday and the results in the query are correct...
When today i executed the same report i am getting different results..
When i compared the results of the report with that of data in cube they are not matching
The report is not displaying the data in cube..for some rows it is displaying the data in the cube but for some rows it is just displaying same as the above row
there is no data loaded into info cube after selective deleation
Do i need to perform request compression and fill the aggregated after selective deleation
Please advise what went wrong

No i haven't done anything on aggregates before or after selective delete
As there is not data load after the selective delete according to SAP Manual we don't need to perform any thing on aggregates...as selective data deletion on cube will delete data from aggregates as well

Yes quite possible provided your FI period is still open. Once you execute J1IIN and clicked the tab "Billing", you can see a field Posting Date where you maintain the billing document date itself if FI period is open.
But from excise point of view, this is wrong due to the fact that excise returns should be submitted on or before 3rd of every month in which case, the excise team would have submitted the returns for October.

I googled, but cannot find anything on the query with web service. I cannot find a "Named Criteria" in web service data control like normal data control. Hi Ravi,
The time a report runs is estimated based on the last time it was run. So you need to run the report once before you can see how long it will take. Also it depends on several factors... the database server could cache some queries so running it a second time immediately after the first time could be quicker. And there is the chance of changing filters to bring back different sets of data.
You could also schedule a report and then check the scheduled instance's status properties and view how long a report actually ran.
