Run-time reading of roles from backend system

EP5 unification provided the ability of displaying an end-user's backend system roles in the iPanel. This did not require importing the backend role to EP5. This greatly reduces the maintenance of roles in EP (especially with BW!

Hi Daniel,
You have a possibility to upload the whole Role from R/3 to EP6 Portal. You do it the following way:
Create system in Portal for your R/3.
Navigation to System Administration->Transport->Role Upload. Select system that you wish to upload Role from, search for your role.
That's it!
All objects in uploaded role become iViews.

I dont feel you can do this. I have also tried what you tried and ended up with a failure.. So had to stick with vmware in one instance and for other instance hyper v...

Unable to read SEARCH response from backend server

Currently we have problem when searching huge amounts of users against new SunOne Directory Server v6.3
in production and acceptance.

We have changed the value of data-source-read-timeout in DPS from 20s to 30m.As per application test, the "time out" error has gone, but we get a new error as following.

Each time while application client (153.88.247.15) connecting DPS to read, they will exit with connection reset error.
Could you please kindly give us some suggestion if this error is realted to the DPS?

NW 7.3 and roles from backend instances

Hi
I'm trying to find out more information about roles from backend instances in NW 7.3. In particular how the roles are synchronised with changes that may occur to the roles in the backend (ie role changes or users allocated to the role).
I haven't been able to find this kind of details in SAP Help or SMP.

Hi,
I did face the same problem when i first configured AS JAVA system and really struggle and grease my elbow to get it working.
I would advise your to upgrade to latest SP level, SP03 and also the CIM and CR Content for SLD to eliminate all possible bugs.
However you can try as below:
1) go to SMSY -> search for the SID instance
2) Highlight the SID and click "Change"
3) Technical system editor will prompt out, and you'll see no Product Version and Product System assigned.
4) Next, navigate to software component and click on "Software Component Versions" and assigned the correct product instance by click the fitting SC proposal. SAVE and leave the page.
5) Now, go to SOLMAN TX: LVSM and webdynpro will display
6) Ensure the Landscape verification job is full sync and completed. Else, you can trigger using LVSM_LOAD.
7) Go to tab "Errors Warnings" and look for the SID, and you'll see that product instance SID is not assign to a product system.
8) on the same page, click "Add product system" and select the correct product and product version. For eg: Your product is Netweaver EHP2 you should first assign product as SAP Netweaver, and Version is EHP1.
9) Select the correct SID and correct Product Instance on the next screen, click Finish and SAVE once done. Remember, you can only select ONE PRODUCT INSTANCE HERE!!
10) Now, go back to Technical System Editor and change the entry for the particular SID.
11) Here, you can see the Product Versions and Product System is filled on the main object. Check all your entry and save is everything is correct.
12) Go back to SMSY, and you should able to see the SID is populated under the correct Product and Product Version.
13) Now in SMSY, you should able to change the data for Product System such as assign Installation no, read system number, sync with SAP and etc.

may help you to access the pictures without any db-access.

Yes, it's possible.
In our employee search model we've programmed a BAPI to return a picturelink to a picture of the employee as a simple text string. This is then mapped to an ordinary HTML view which only has one field: url.
In this case all the "hard" work has been done in the back end. I can't tell you exactly how the BAPI is programmed, but the pictures are administrated in transaction PREL and are stored in SAPs content server.

If you look at BAPI BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA (which we have based our new z-bapi on) you will see the docID field values returned from port ARCHIVELINK (field: ARC_DOC_ID).

Tell the client that, HRusers are not considered as R/3 users by SAP.
HRUSERS can only execute ESS related services and it is created using transaction HRUSER. ( Though HRUSER creates user in su01).
License for ess users and R/3 users are different and sold seperately by SAP.
If u have ESS user licence, u can create a user in R/3 and in EP. But this user in R/3 should have access to ESS / MSS services only.

BBP_GET_STATUS_2 and Clean_recrec_Up are background jobs to sync ecc and ebp.
BBPIV and MBGMCR are used to send goods receipt and invoice from srm to backend system
So we dont require any special idocs to send goods receipt and invoice from ecc to ebp.Are all handled by BBP_Get_status_2

Problem with uploading the role from backend R3 ECC 5.0 system

hi all gurus,
         i have created one role in the back end sustem and then assigned it to one user.
         Now i have created one system to connect that backend system and mapped one portal user to that backend system user then i tried fro uploading the role problem.
         Now after prosessing the role upload it will show the report with error for "PROCESSING ATTRIBUTES" as follow:

Triggering file sender process from backend system

Hi,
We have implemented a file transfer using SAP PI to move a file from one of our business partner's FTP server to our SAP ECC backend system.
The integration scenario is file sender (using the SFTP protocol) to proxy receiver with an asynchronous service interface.
The file contains payment information which we wish to pull into our SAP ECC system once daily.
The scenario is currently working using the Runtime Workbench Availability Time Planning option which is set to activate the file sender communication channel accordingly.
To aid testing and to permit adhoc processing of the interface (let's say if there are additional payment runs required after the scheduled run) we'd like to be able to trigger the interface at the user side from the SAP ECC system.
As they don't have access to SAP PI the most appropriate solution would seem to be an ABAP program in SAP ECC that calls an outbound proxy that could link to the file sender mentioned above.
What options are there for creating this integration - can we implement BPM or is there an alternative?
As I've no experience of this type of scenario any blogs or example configuration would be useful.

The users will need the two roles mentioned there. You can just create 2 links (one for start, one for stop) and add as favorites in the user's browser. Or if you have portal you could encapsulate this so the links are transparent to the user (also, the roles would be added just to the technical user, not the end user, and the user mapping would be handled in portal layer).

To avoid inconsistencies, all roles from which a role is derived are also downloaded. When you download composite roles, all the roles which they contain are also downloaded.
When you upload a role, all role data, including authorization data is uploaded from a file into the SAP system. The user assignments for the role and the generated profiles for the role are exceptions in this case. You must therefore regenerate the authorization profiles after the upload.

You will need to output the results of the system command to a file and then read contents of the file into your form. The HOST built-in has a limitation, however. The HOST built-in can only execute commands on the Application Server (AS), so hopefully, the "Solaris" system you mentioned is your AS. Once the HOST call completes and the output file is created, you can read the contents of the file using the TEXT_IO built-in.

Run time error while logging from a client

hi all,
My server is connected to 10 clients. out of that 2 clients are suddenly showing error while logging.
Microsoft visual studio C++(error window)
run tme error

error c:/program files/sap/sap business one/sapbusiness one.exe
This is the error window showing. I have uninstalled the client and again installed it but with no results. I found in the path mentioned above there should be the client run file "sap business one.exe", which is not present. I mean the .exe is missing. the file shows "sap business one" only.
whenever we install the client then i the folder
c:/program files/sap/sap business one
there is a .exe file. which is not being installed in this client machine. what is being installed is a
sap business one (not a .exe)
when the client icon in the desktop is made to run, the log in screen appears, the list of company and db appears. I have recently upgraded the server to PL 42. so when a company is selected for log in then the client upgrade message also appears. when "ok" is clickd the run time error appears.
where as all other clients are running well after the upgrade.
please help with a solution.

I have explored all the areas and I hope the problem is with the exe file only. Because I have tried an option. I copied the entire file SAP Business One (in the C:
Program Files\sap) from one client which is working to the client where the error was showing. Then the it started working properly.
But I donot think this will be a permanent solution. Because on reinstaling the client the SAPBusiness One.exe does not appear and to the best of my research i am quite sure that may be the problem.
Any idea from any one for a perfect reason.

Hi Aravind,
It could be due to overflow of your spool count.Try to check it first or if possible delete some old spool requests from the system by execution of standard report RSPO1041.
After that try to re run the same & take a sample printout to check again.
