Running 2 DB servlets under apache!

When I install 1 DB servlet it works fine, but when I add a
second DB servlet in the same zone (or a different one) I'm only
able to start one of them, the first one which get's loaded run's
(so when I start servlet 1 first then it runs, but I'm unable to
run servlet 2 or (after restarting Apache) when I start servlet 2
first it runs but then I'm unable to run servlet 1 ...
The produced error is :
JBO-00200: A Generic exception occurred during loading
Customizations.
null
I did a truss -p and found out that an attempt is done to access
the XXXX.ser (where XXXX = the name of my XXXX.XML) file from the
other servlet! JDEV doesn't create a XXXX.ser file however ...
Any help to solve this problem would be again very much
appreciated.

Stefaan

  • Tomcat running under apache

    Hi All,
    I want to be able to run my tomcat3.3.1a under apache webserver, and i klnow i have to use mod_jk. The problem i am having is that my tomcat is not producing the mod_jk.conf_auto file.
    I have even added the apacheconfig directive to server.xml but the file is not being generated.
    Any ideas anyone on how i can get this file generated.
    Thanks in advance

  • How I can run servlets in Apache 1.3.2.7

    hi i am using JSP as Interface..and Servlets as controller...
    also Using Apache Httpd server,verion is 1.3.2.7
    plz tell me how i can use apache to run my servlets.
    Rahul.

    To run servlets in Apache you need the mod_jk module. But as the previous post, it is better to use Tomcat and putting both, Apache and Tomcat, working together. Tomcat will serve all the java related things, and the Apache, the html, php, etc.

  • How to run servlets under Tomcat 6 in java1.5

    hi all

    A 503 response says
    503 Service Unavailable
    The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a

    You apparently have the server mis-configured. Recheck the configuration (or reinstall Tomcat per its instructions.)

  • How to run JSP/Servlet applications on Apache?

    As we all know that tomcat is an JSP/Servlet engine. Apache is a web server not a JSP/Servlet enabled web server. Then in order to run JSP/Servlet applications on Apache web server on unix, what should I do?
    Thanks.
    James Liu

    Can you give me some detailed information about how to combine Apache and Tomcat? Note, the application is going to run on Sun Solaris Operating System.
    By the way, where do you put your final version of application? on windows or on Unix? on tomcat or on apache?
    I am building the application using tomcat on windows, but now I almost finished the application, so I decide to move it to Unix which uses apache as the web server. But I got problems, the Servlet engine (JServ) can not understand "RequestDispatcher" (an object used to redirect jsp pages).
    Help please.

  • Problem Running my servlet

    Hi,
    I use Tomcat 5.5.17 to run servlets. I can run the example servlets that come with Tomcat successfully. I have configured the java_home and class path variables. When I create a new servlet in the webapps/servlets-examples folder, I can run it.
    However, when I try creating a new folder under webapps (named trial) and when I try to run my servlet from there I get the 404 Servlet not found error.
    The steps I followed are:
    1.Created a new folder trial under C:\apache-tomcat 5.5.17\webapps
    2.Created the WEB_INF folder under trial and then the classes folder under it.
    3. Put my servlet HelloServlet.class under the classes folder.
    4.Put WEB.XML under the C:\apache-tomcat 5.5.17\webapps\trial\WEB_INF folder and made the following entry
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>HelloServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>HelloServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>HelloServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/HelloServlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    5. I tried to access my servlet using the following URL:
    http://localhost:8080/trial/HelloServlet
    and that gives the 404 error.
    Are there any additional steps when we are running a servlet a folder we create?
    I searched the internet and found something about setting the context path but I could not understand how to do it for Tomcat 5.5.17 as the documents I found on the net were for older versions.
    I would be grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks in advance!
    Aniticipating your help!
    Thanks and Regards,
    Asana

    Hi.. You can check your application context path through Tomcat Manager application.
    URL is :
    http://localhost:8080/manager/list
    or
    http://localhost:8080/manager/html/list

    root cause
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld (wrong name: hall/HelloWorld)Is your servlet contains first line as package hall;If it is there,remove it from the servlet code. And run your program.
    If you want to keep it, then make a folder named hall in classes folder and put your HelloWorld.class there. Also change <servlet-class> as
    <servlet>
        <servlet-name>HelloWorld</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>hall.HelloWorld</servlet-class>
      </servlet>

  • Re: execution problem with oracle jsp under apache

    i followed the instruction to install oracle jsp running on apache 1.3.9 and apacheJServ/1.1b3 under win nt 4.0 with sp5. i created a servlet zone to hold the jsp file but for some reason it will not look the the dir specified in the jserv.conf. it look at the dir under apache document root dir.. therefore, i created a dir under the apache root dir and then it was able to compile the hellouser.jsp correctly. when i run lotto.jsp, the image files would not display. why?

    Apache Servlet zones allow you separate servlet (sets) into distinct classloaders. The OJSP servlet needs to exist in a servlet zone. However the content the OJSP servlet operates on (the .jsp file) lives in the document root directory just like your other web content. OJSP does support a configuration/init parameter whereby you can explicitly specify a physical directory other than what is mapped via the Apache settings. Please consult the documentation if you want to do this.
    As for why the lottery images aren't being displayed, more information is needed. The generated page should create local references to the images files. Are the images in where they are expected to be? Can you be more explicit about the URI you send and the physical structure of the Lottery sample in the file system?

  • 404 Error on Servlet under HTTPS

    Hi,
    This is the first time that I've had to work with SSL. I have a servlet that worked fine under regular http. I had to implement SSL and run my site over https. I have been told that there is problem with my configuration of Tomcat. I have followed the documentation found at
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/ssl-howto.html
    and it doesn't work. I have been working on this for a week now and can't seem to get it to work. Can someone please take a look at it and tell me what I am doing wrong? THANKS!
    I get "HTTP 404 - File not Found" with the URL https://www.benefitserver.com/FDFServlet
    I get "Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request" with the URL https://www.benefitserver.com/servlet/FDFServlet
    I've looked at the log files for Apache and I don't see any errors listed. No errors logged in the Tomcat log file either.

  • 404 File not Found error trying servlet under https

    Hi,
    This is the first time that I've had to work with SSL. I have a servlet that worked fine under regular http. I had to implement SSL and run my site over https. When I try to access my servlet under HTTPS, I get the 404 File not found error. Is there something that I need to setup for servlets to run under SSL in apache or server.xml? or Do I need to modify my JSP and Servlet code?
    I call my servlet from my JSP on the action method of the form like such:
    * JSP call to servlet
    <form action="https://www.benefitserver.com:8081/FDFServlet" method="post">

  • Servlets and Apache 1.3.21 ???

    I'm really new to servlets and am having problems.
    Can I run servlets using Apache HTTP Server 1.3.21 ?
    I also have Tomcat 4.0 (on Windows 2000), but I don't know where to put my servlet class files so they can run?
    Please help!

    create a classes directory under tomcat home, and put your servlets classes.(ex:MyServlet.class)
    <tomcat home>/classes/MyServlet.class
    use http://host:port/servlet/myservlet

    Either shut it down or assign the current server another port.

  • Cannot run a servlet using Tomcat. Urgent

    I have a webapplication which uses some jsp's and servlets. The jsp pages work fine when I use
    http://hostname:8080/MyWebapp/Filename.jsp
    However, when I developed a java servlet and put the class file in WEB-INF/classes directory of my web application and tried to access it.
    I got a resource not found error.
    The strange thing is that when I put the file in the web-inf/classes folder of examples webapplication (which comes with Tomcat) I am able to run the servlet using
    http://hostname:8080/examples/servlet/Class file
    I am not sure what is wrong.
    Can someone help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Vamsi.

    It's predictable. The Servlet and JSP specifications mandate that you cannot directly access resources under WEB-INF directory. You have to set up servlet mapping configuration in your web.xml to specify how to access the resources, both Servlet and JSP, there.
    When you copied your files in a demo webapp of Tomcat, the web.xml of the demo app already set up the mapping like following for you. So you could use http://hostname:8080/examples/servlet/Class to visit the servlet.
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>invoker</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/servlet/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    The default setting since Tomcat 4.1 turned off servlet invoker in web.xml under conf directory. You can uncomment the above lines in this file to turn it on. Then you are able to visit your servlet without <servlet-mapping> configured using the following syntax,
    http://hostname:8080/<your_app_name>/servlet/<your_servlet_name>
