Running Sum on column total minus current month

Hi all,
Is it possible to get the running sum total value of all the months minus the current month value in the column function,as I need to display the same in the narrative view.
Like RSUM(YTD(M-1)Value)...
Presently this RSUM is not giving me the right value.
I can also do the total for all the months minus the current month value.Can it be done at the column funtion?
Regards
Ashish

Hi
Can you elaborate a little..Did you mean I need to create one variable in the repository?
YTD (M-1 Value) / (YTD Last Year M 0 Value)
where M0 is current month and M-1 is previous month and value is a measure.

Ashish

  • Running sum per column in pivot table

    Hello,
    I am facing a problem with a running sum in a pivot table. As you know, the running sum provided by OBIEE spans across rows and columns. My requirements force me to have a running sum per each column (I have four columns, one for each quarter of the year). My pivot is as follows:
    ------------------------------|| 1st Quarter / 2nd Quarter ...
    type of product / status || (Measure / Running Sum) / (Measure / Running Sum) ...
    I've tried using the evaluate function with a "sum over" but that doesn't seem to work either.
    Do you have any ideas that could be useful to solve this?
    Thank you in advance for your time,
    João Marques

    Do not use the "running measure" button in pivot table, but try this :
    edit the formula of your measure and type :
    RSUM(mesure by dimension)
    where dimension is the attribute dimension that you put on the ROWS of your pivot table
    Exemple : I've got the criteria REVENUE, YEAR, CUSTOMER TYPE
    I put the YEAR in the Columns of the pivot table
    I put the CUSTOMER TYPE on the rows of the pivot table
    I put the REVENUE in the measures of the pivot table
    Measure has the formula : RSUM("Facts Revenue".Revenue BY Customers."Customer Type")

  • Can I run ck40n two times in the current month??

    Hi,
    I execute ck40n for June month, but after finish there was an activity price should be change,
    so can i change and run ck40n again in the current month??

    Hi,
    Somehow, I agree with Ali.
    Though the system allows you to release more than once but it is not recommended as there will more one standard price available for the same material which may lead inappropriate variance calculation and other inconsistency may crop up. Further system will revaluate all the inventory value with the new price.
    You can also change the price manually through MR21 (this is not recommended but it is a work around).

  • Logical Columns - Running Sum & 3Month Rollover

    Hi All,
    Need to build a logical column.
    I have a column with number of units (count distinct) in RPD.
    I need to build a new logical column in the REPOSITORY , such that it has running sum values.... sothat when i pick this #units column and months column in the ANSWERS...I need to get roll over of all previous values for first month.
    Say Jan ---> XXXX units ( summation of all previous available units - few years)
    Feb----> YYYY units ( sum of till jan values & Feb units)
    Mar----> ZZZZ ...etc ( sum of till Feb values & Mar units) so on.
    Based on this newly built column I need to build another column of " 3 months roll over " column.
    Replies appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi user11939829m
    So help me understand your new measures a little better. For the sake of this post, let's say your data is like so
    Month Year -- Units
    Jan 2010 -- 1
    Feb 2010 -- 2
    Mar 2010 -- 3
    Apr 2010 -- 4
    May 2010 -- 5
    Jun 2010 -- 6Then let's say you have a report with the above columns and the new running sum columns.
    Month Year -- Units -- Running Sum Units
    Jan 2010 -- 1 -- 1
    Feb 2010 -- 2 -- 3
    Mar 2010 -- 3 -- 6
    Apr 2010 -- 4 -- 10
    May 2010 -- 5 -- 15
    Jun 2010 -- 6 -- 21Now what exactly would your three months rollover be? Would the 3 month rolling sum = running sum for current month + running sum for last month + running sum for last last month?
    i.e.
    Month Year -- Units -- Running Sum Units -- 3 Month Rolling Sum
    Jan 2010 -- 1 -- 1 -- 1
    Feb 2010 -- 2 -- 3 -- 4
    Mar 2010 -- 3 -- 6 -- 10
    Apr 2010 -- 4 -- 10 -- 19
    May 2010 -- 5 -- 15 -- 31
    Jun 2010 -- 6 -- 21 -- 46Not sure what value such a measure would add. Or do you mean 3 month rolling sum would be the running sum for just the last three months (like below)? This makes more sense but in your description, you indicated that you'd build the 3 month rolling sum off of the running sum which confused me a bit.
    Month Year -- Units -- Running Sum Units -- 3 Month Rolling Sum
    Jan 2010 -- 1 -- 1 -- 1
    Feb 2010 -- 2 -- 3 -- 3
    Mar 2010 -- 3 -- 6 -- 6
    Apr 2010 -- 4 -- 10 -- 9
    May 2010 -- 5 -- 15 -- 12
    Jun 2010 -- 6 -- 21 -- 15 Is that what you are going for? Please elaborate.
    Best regards,
    -Joe

  • Macro should only be executed for periods of current month

    Hello Experts,
    I am using fiscal year variant (FW) in which 4 periods exist for any month. Whenever I open the planning book, I will have to see only these 4 periods of the current month and Initial bucket.
    I have a macro, that should be executed for all these 4 periods of the current month at any time during the month.
    (aggregated sum of forecast of period 1 and 2 will be shown in bucket 2. aggregated sum of period 1,2 and 3 are shown in bucket 3, etc)
    So, I have designed the time bucket profile with past as 1 month of Fiscal year variant FW and future of 1 month of Fiscal year variant.
    My time bucket profile is 1 month - split into 4 periods of fiscal year FW.
    1) The macro runs fine if the current system date lies in the second period through fourth period. But during the beginning of the month, when it is in the first fiscal period of month, it displays past 4 periods as 4 periods of previous month and 4 future periods of current month. I just want to display all buckets or periods of current month only. How can I achieve this?
    2) So, during first week of the month, my macro runs only for past 4 periods and not for future 4 periods. But I want to run only from 1st period of current month till last period of current month. How to achieve this? Is there any macro function to overcome this? Or is there any standard configuration to avoid this problem?
    Thanks,
    Suresh

    Hi Marius,
    Thanks again. But, the macro code that I write, should be executed from the first period of current month to the last period of current month, even though, if the current system date is in the third period of the current month.
    Also the interactive planning grid should show all the periods of current month as visible, even though I'm not in the first period of current month.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Suresh

  • How to Suppress Report Total When Using Sum on Columns & Break Formatting

    I need to know how to NOT show the report total line when using the sum functionality with a break in a report.
    I am summing two columns, a debit amount and credit amount. I am breaking on the first column which is the level of a hierarchical query. I want to see something like this:
    Parent Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Parent Sum $$ $$
    Child Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Child Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Child Sum $$ $$
    However, when I run the report, I also get a report total line under the child sum which is really meaningless for this report.
    I have also tried creating this report as an interactive report. When applying the sum on the two columns, I do get the sum totals on the break only - no report total - however, it is reversing the order of the hierarchical query results putting the child records first and the parent records second.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi, and welcome!
    I don't think that there's an easy way to "switch off" the Total line on a report. The nearest I could suggest would be to either hide the entire row or colour the text so that it's the same as the background - either way, the total is calculated but the user won't see it.
    If you put something like the following into your report region's Region Footer:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var outertable = document.getElementById("#REGION_ID#");
    var innertable = outertable.getElementsByTagName("TABLE")[1];
    var rs = innertable.rows;
    var lastrow = rs[rs.length-1];
    if (lastrow.cells[0].innerHTML == '<b>TOTAL</b>')
    rs[rs.length - 1].style.display = "none";
    </script>Then, on your report's Report Attributes page, scroll down to the Break Formatting section and put TOTAL into the "Display this text when printing report sums" setting. Also, in the "Layout and Pagination" section, set "Enable Partial Page Refresh" to No.
    The above code is based on the report and region templates that I'm using here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:147] (Theme 18, "Report Region" region template and "Standard" report template). Your report may use different templates, so the first two lines on the code may have to change. #REGION_ID# would be replaced with the region's ID value (which would be "R" followed by a long number). As long as you can identify the HTML tag that uses this ID value, you can then get to the actual table that contains the data as it would be a TABLE within that tag - the [1] above is the second table within the region. In some instances, you may have to use "region_#REGION_ID#" as the starting point.

  • Time Dimension _ Report on Current month and previous year.TOTAL

    Hi,
    My Time dimension is as under .
    July2013, Aug2013 ,......Jan2014,,,. June2014  = 2014.TOTAL
    My requirement is to report based on context view along with previous period total (.TOTAL) values.
    For example :      If i am using CV as : 2013.JUL my report should show 2013.JUL & 2013.TOTAL
                                If i am using CV as : 2014.JUN my report should show 2014.JUN & 2013.TOTAL
    Can anyone provide some direction to build the above scenario
    Regards
    Krishna

    Hi,
    do you have the property YEAR in your time dimension filled out? If so, you could use EPMDIMENSIONOVERRIDE function together with an Excel cell.
    Let me build an example:
    Assuming your report has two columns, one for the current month and one for the total year. I would split this into two, one report per month, i.e. column. The first report will show the current period, the second the total. Somewhere in the header of your sheet use:
    EPMDimensionOverride("001";"TIME";EPMMemberProperty(;EPMContextMember(;"TIME");"YEAR")&".TOTAL")
    001 is the default ID of the second report.

  • Delete cost run & reset release for current month

    For our client we have created a new plant while testing this plant user created a material and they have done a cost run in ck11n  with costing varient zv01 but in they released the cost with costing varient ppc1 with this system got inconsistency and not not allowing to release cost for any other material in the current month if we try to mark it for next month it is working fine.
    we deleted the cost run through ck44 & ckr1 then also we are faceing the same problem. Kindly give me the solution how can i reset the release and later i want to run the ck11n & ck24 for material in the current month  to do  the production cycle.  please consider this is as a urgent.

    Hi
    Whether you should do MR21 or not ??
    a. If the cost estimate you reversed belongs to Last month and you are going to post the GR in last month then you should do MR21
    b. if the cost estimate you reversed belongs to may and GR will also be posted in May - No need for Mr21... Because, even though you release cost on say, may 2nd, the cost always gets released from the Start of the Month

  • How to find First Program run in the Current Month in Foreground?

    Dear Experts,
    My requirement is that i need to find the First Program run date in the Current Month in foreground. The user must be allowed to run the Report only once for a month and if the next time he runs in the same month, it should not allow him to do so.
    Is there any Function Modules available? How to achieve this?
    Regards,

    Hello Ramesh,
    May be you can try with this code:
    INITIALIZATION.
      DATA:
      v_date TYPE datum,
      wa_indx TYPE indx.
    * Import the date to INDX table
      IMPORT date = v_date
        FROM DATABASE indx(xy)
        TO   wa_indx
        CLIENT sy-mandt
        ID 'DATE'.
      IF v_date IS NOT INITIAL.
        IF v_date+0(6) = sy-datum+0(6). "Check YYYYMM is same
          "Give your error message & exit
        ELSE.
          v_date = sy-datum.
    *     Export the date to INDX table
          EXPORT date = v_date
            TO DATABASE indx(xy)
            FROM   wa_indx
            CLIENT sy-mandt
            ID 'DATE'.
        ENDIF.
      ELSE.
        v_date = sy-datum.
    *   Export the date to INDX table
        EXPORT date = v_date
          TO DATABASE indx(xy)
          FROM   wa_indx

      ENDIF.
    Hope this is of some help.

  • Return Current month Data:Help needed in modifying this code of a Procedure

    Hello Folks i have this scenario where i need to modify this code so that it has to return data from the Current month First Day to the previous Day if its a daily report and previous month data if its a monthly report.
    I have no clue how to modify this code below. Currently the code is returning data for Monthly reports for the previous month. Does anyone have any idea how to modify so that the code meets the requirements of both daily and monthly reprts.
    BEGIN
    if v_lowdate is null or v_highdate is null then
    select to_number(to_char(sysdate, 'DD')) into v_cur_day from dual;
    if v_cur_day < 25 then
    -- this is for the previous month run
    Select Add_Months(trunc(sysdate, 'MONTH'), -1)
    INTO V_LOWDATE
    FROM DUAL;
    SELECT Last_Day(ADD_Months(Sysdate, -1)) INTO V_Highdate From Dual;

    Select trunc(sysdate, 'MONTH') INTO V_LOWDATE FROM DUAL;
    SELECT Last_Day(Sysdate) INTO V_Highdate From Dual;

    end if;

  • Running Sum on Two Dimension object

    Dear All,
    I have below scenario:
    In Crosstab:
    Row: Region,State
    Column : Month
    Measure - Sales & Sales % (= Sales for State/Total Sales for that Region)
    Expected Output:
    Region - Month   ---   Jan Sales -Jan % -  Feb -   Feb % -   Mar - Mar %
    West - State -1  -- 10   -    66%(10/30) -   40 - 66% (40/60) -   50 - 50%(50/100)
    West  -State -2  --  20   -   34% (20/20) -   20 - 34% (20/60)  -  50- 50% (50/100)
    West Running Total   30 - 100%    -  60 -100% -  100 -100%
    East - State -1  -- 0   -    0%(0/0) -   60 - 100% (60/60) -   50 - 50%(50/100)
    East  -State -2  --  20   -  100% (20/20) -   0 - 0% (0/60)  -  50- 50% (50/100)
    West Running Total   20 - 100%    -  60 -100% -  100 -100%
    Actual Output:
    Month   ---   Jan Sales -Jan % -  Feb -   Feb % -   Mar - Mar %
    West - State -1   10   -    66%(10/30) -   40 - 57% (40/70) -   50 - 35%(50/140)
    West - State -2    20   -   34% (20/20) -   20 - 22% (20/90)  -  50- 26% (50/190)
    Running Total   30 - 100%    -  90 (304030)  -79% -  100 -61%
    East - State -1  -- 0   -    0%(0/0) -   60 - 75% (60/80) -   50 - 35%(50/140)
    East  -State -2  --  20   -  100% (20/20) -   0 - 0% (0/80)  -  50- 27% (50/180)
    West Running Total   20 - 100%    -  80 -75% -  180 -57%
    My Running Total Formula is : = Runningsum( Sales; (Region))
    Sales % =  Sales / Running Total Formula
    In short, I want to reset running total while my state and Month gets change. Here what's going on is while my state will get change, sum will reset and if I use Month in Running Sum formula I will get reverse effect in State.
    Can anyone have idea how to solve this issue ?
    Any answer would be appreciate.
    Regards,
    Rishit

    hi Rishit,
    You need not create any formulas to achieve the expected output.
    Create a cross tab with
    row -> region, state
    column -> month
    measure -> sales
    Apply a break on Region
    Now select sales column
    1) insert sum using Summary(Sigma) button.
    2) insert Percentage using Summary button
    3) Remove unrequired row i.e. horizontal rows for Percentage. But keep the Percentage Column
    4) Manually you can type 100% on right hand side of sum.

  • Reset running sum

    Hello,
    I need to calculate running sum for each row. I' ve created pivot table report where both dimensions are dates. When I use function RSUM, it sums all values from first record till current record (totals for all rows), but I need a running sum for each row.
    Is there any way to get running sum for specific group (dimension value change) record similar as it could be in Oracle SQL using OVER(PARTION BY) construct?
    For example, if there is a table with 3 rows and 2 columns:
    _*1*      *2*
    *1* 2 4
    *2* 1 3
    *3* 1 2
    Then corresponding table with running sums will be:
    _*1*      *2*
    *1* 2 6
    *2* 1 4
    *3* 1 3
    Thanks

    use the aggregate by statement:

  • SSRS Matrix report. Variance expression by Month. Need to compare month from prior year to current month of current year VS2010

    Please help.  I have a matrix report.  In the report I have row group  PO Type.  One the Column groups I have a parent group by Fiscal Year, and then a child group by Month.  When I run the report, I get two years of data back broken
    out by month.  Please see below.
    Now here is where I am getting stuck.  I need to take the variance between the current month of the current year, from the same month of the prior year.  So I need to show the difference between Oct , 2014 from Oct, 2013. November, 2014 from November
    2013... etc. etc.
    In the example below, how do I create a column or row showing the variance for Contracts for October 2014.  I need to take the contracts for October 2014 which is 3 and subtract that from October 2013 which is 8.  Any suggestions? How do I do that
    for each month?  Then I need to do it for the quarter... then the year?  But I'll be happy if I can just get the month working first.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    here is what my rdl file looks like.
    Here is what my report looks like when I render it.

    Hi Adrian_s2012,
    According to your description, you want to compare values for the month of current year with the month of prior year and get the variance. Right?
    In Reporting Services, we don't have any function to get this "Year to Year" Growth. In this scenario, if you data source is a cube, we suggest you use Analysis Services to achieve your requirement. If this data source is just from database, it will be hardly
    to calculate the variance because we need to compare the values within every two different column group and matrix generate adjacent columns one by one. Even we make it by using custom, every time executing the long code when generating result
    in a cell will reduce a lot of performance, we really don't suggest to do that in SSRS. Here is a thread with much easier requirement, please take a reference of that:
