Running vb code from a HTML link

Hi,
I'm using place holders to show and hide tables of text.
There are multiple tables on the page to show and hide (only 1 to
be visible at a time) I have got it all working fine using asp
buttons to run the vb script but I'd like to show and hide the
tables when clicking on a html text link rather then the asp
button. Can anyone help?
The vb script:
<SCRIPT language="vb" runat="server">
Sub Discounted(Sender As Object, E As EventArgs)
phdiscounted.visible = true
phVariable.visible = false
End Sub
Sub Variable(Sender As Object, E As EventArgs)
phdiscounted.visible = false
phVariable.visible = true
End Sub
</SCRIPT>

If your using buttons then you must be getting the form data
using
Request.Form("formname") right? If you want to use a link you
will need
to pass a variable in the url.
For instance:
<a href="yourpage.asp?show=area">Show</a>
Then on yourpage.asp use Request.QueryString("show") to get
your variable.

  • FlashVars from an html link?

    Is it it possible to receive FlashVars from an html link? How would that be done?
    Thanks a lot!!!

    KGLAD, wondering if you could help me again. I finally got this deep Linking to work but when I try to actually implement to site and test, I ran into 2 problems:
    1st problem is that I have a JavaScript alert in my index page where the actually .swf files is embedded, the alert was simply spitting back my variables, but when I try to remove it, the code stops working.
    2nd problem is the code does not work at all in Safari (on MAC) but does work in Firefox (on MAC)
    Any light you can shed here would help. Link is below...

  • Open a JspDynPage from a html link

    I would like to link a jps to the JspDynPage. I think that it would be able to do it through the "pcd". For example:
    - I have the SAP customer login screen (original) and i want to add a "link" (Forgotten PIN) to link with the JspDynPage (Java controller).
    Is it possible to do it? Does anyone know how? Do i go in right way?
    Thanks in advance.

    The code was lightsout.class, not #.class...
    I just want an HTML link to open a JAVA JFrame. Would a button work instead of an HTML link? Here's the beginning/initialization of my JFrame:
    public lightsout() {
              frame = new JFrame("LightsOut");
              frame.setSize(new Dimension(700, 700));
              frame.setTitle("Lights Out!");
              frame.setLocation(50, 50);
              frame.setResizable(false);
              japplet.setFocusable(false);
              frame.setAlwaysOnTop(true);
              Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
              int height = screenSize.height;
              int width = screenSize.width;
              frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
              frame.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              centerPanel = new JPanel(new GridLayout(5, 5));

  • Running Matlab code from java code

    Ok so I need to make a java gui interface to run Matlab code. After a lot of search I am aware of three approaches,the com.mathworks.jmi package, JNI and i/o streams. So as far as the first approach I cannot find that package nowhereto downlaod, so please if anyone knows where to find it, or why I cannot find it... As far as the second and third approach, I need this to run on both linux and windows so JNI is the only way. So first of all if someone has another approach to suggest, I would like to hear! So I have found code to do this but it is not working and the problem is that there is c code in all this, and my c knowledge is not good at all, so as you have probably understand this is more like a c problem than java, but I'm not completely sure. Anyway I'm posting all the code I use, then the commands I used to compile it and at last the problem.

    I need this to run on both linux and windows so JNI is the only wayHuh? Streams in general work on windows and linux. So maybe some more specific info
    about what you mean by "i/o streams."
    I am aware of three approachesA fourth approach is to write an application in C which communicates with Matlab directly
    and then uses some idiom such as sockets to allow communication to java. This would generally
    be the method that I would prefer over all others since it makes debugging and testing easier.
    undefined symbol: engOpenSomehow you are missing a library (nothing specific to to with JNI nor java) in you JNI code.
    Odd error since I would normally expect something else. Try using System.load/loadLibrary() in java to explicitly load the Matlab
    library (or libraries) before your JNI library. The load/LoadLibrary calls don't care if it is JNI or not.

  • Can you do Update Record from an HTML link?

    Can you implement the Update Record server behavior by
    clicking on an HTML link?
    As far as the documentation I've read indicates, the Update
    Record server behavior is only capable of updating a record when a
    Form is submitted.
    I would rather have the action of clicking on an HTML link
    update the record, rather than having a Submit button to update the
    record.
    Is this possible? How do I go about doing this?
    Is

    If you coded the HTML on the page to submit your variables,
    you should be
    able to pull them in to the update page, though you might
    have to manually
    edit some code.
    However, this also means you will always have a link present
    that bots will
    hit (and thus will update your database). Is this what you're
    looking for?
    It certainly doesn't sound like the best method.

  • How to automatically run javascript code from Captivate 3?

    Howdy everyone,
    My company uses a custom webpage to display the finished SWF files generated by Captivate 3.  This page has menu buttons on the side that link to other videos that are related to the video being watched.
    We want to add a little bit of spice to the menu, and highlight the next video in the series after the current SWF has finished playing.
    Now I know that Captivate 3 will launch a Javascript code when either a button is pushed, a text box is used, or a clickbox is activated, but we are looking for a way for Captivate 3 to launch a Javascript code apart from user input.  Any suggestions?

    Hi there
    One of the options you have available when Captivate finishes playing a movie is to Execute JavaScript. Perhaps use that?

    actually that is really helpful. My directories are most likely incorrect, but I'm coming to java from a c/c++ background and don't know how to make the directories correctly for the given package. I'll look that up and see what I get. In the meantime, if you or anyone else could follow up with a link or a quick explanation on packages and directories that'd be great too.

  • Cannot run the code from local machine - works after deployment!!!

    Hi,
    I am totally new to application server. My problem is that the application code after it is 'deployed' from JDeveloper to Oracle Application Server - it works fine. I can go to the web application from the url and do a 'Submit' of forms and it works fine. The problem comes when I try to connect to dev. environment from local machine and try to do a 'Submit' (done for debugging purposes), I get a 500 Internal Server Error. Is there a configuration file or property I file I have to change? I am clueless.
    Basically addRequest can be considered as the 'Submit'.

    Hi,
    Top further pinpoint the issue, I can make the SSRS report work with the stored procedure by running
    SP_recompile 'myStoredProcedure'
    So, SQL Server has somehow messed up the execution plan for the sproc. But to repeat, executing the Sproc in Management Studio works just fine, I just look the exact sproc and parameters with SQL Profiler when it is not working in SSRS report, then run that
    same sproc manually and it works.
    After extensive debugging, it seems to raise from one specific SELECT row:
    SELECT
    cte.TIMEYEAR + 1 AS TIMEYEAR,
    where cte.TIMEYEAR is varchar. After changing that to
    SELECT
    CAST(cte.TIMEYEAR + 1 AS VARCHAR) AS TIMEYEAR,
    it started to work.
    What will probably remain forever unclear is that WHY the original select always breaks every now and then, and always starts to work with a simple sp_recompile. I could reproduce the error easily by running
    exec sp_msforeachtable @command1="EXEC sp_recompile '?'";
    after which the sproc raised error: "Conversion failed when converting nvarchar value 'Q1/2000' to data type int".
    ..aaaand then just by running SP_recompile 'myStoredProcedure' it again started working fine. I could reproduce this break & fix pair coherently.
    Still it makes no sense from SSRS report perspective, when sproc was broken in Management Studio query, it was always broken from SSRS report end as well, but sometimes when sproc was working from SSMS, it wasn't working from SSRS.

  • Problem with running sample code from XML Schema Processor for Java

    Hi there,
    I downloaded the XML Schema Processor for Java and tried it out. Unfortunately, it failed at the first step. FYI, I included all xmlparserv2.jar and xmlschema.jar in my classpath.
    I compiled XSDSample.java with a warning: XSDSample.java uses a deprecated API. Recompile with "-deprecation" for details. There was no problem with compiling XSDSetSchema.java.
    When I tried to run report.xml by typing java XSDSample report.xml, I got Parsing report.xml

    I guess that report.xml from the sample is not valid.
    Could any one give me a hint? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can I link directly to a specific spry data choice from an html link

    http://www.nmprc.state.nm.us/als.htm
    my pages are set up around an xml source, but is there any
    way to link directly to one of the xml choices? Say "Forms and
    Apllications" so that I can set a helpful link on another html page
    and that choice will be open on page load.
    can you point me in the right direction If there are any
    samples of this?

    Check out these samples:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/data_region/DataWithURLParams.html
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/utils/URLUtilsSample.html
    These samples all happen on one page, but the links can be
    anywhere. It is mostly the matter of passing the URL param to the
    function correctly.
    Hope this helps.

  • PHP code disappearing from Muse html

    I'm having an odd error that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
    I am using Adobe Muse and a server side CMS called Pulsepro. To run the CMS modules all I have to do is paste an embed line like the following:
    <?php include("pulsepro/includes/gallery2.php"); ?>
    I am placing this php code in an HTML snippet in muse and then exporting and uploading to server. On the server I have an .htaccess file with the following lines of code to make sure that the browser can find the PHP:
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html .htm
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .html .htm
    When I go to my page, where the php should be is blank. Upon viewing source code it shows that the php include is completed deleted and just has a blank DIV. Now, the local file on my machine (the export from Muse) shows the correct php include line. Why is it that when the browser runs the code it removes the php code from the HTML file? If I put the same php line in a simple html file it runs fine.
    Help? I've never had this issue with anything other than Muse.
    Best,
    Oliver

    Browsers do not find or process PHP. PHP is found and processed by the server before it hits your browser.
    The reason why you may not see anything where you placed the PHP is that it is unable to locate "pulsepro/includes/gallery2.php" or that included PHP file is simply rendering nothing.
    What happens when you call "pulsepro/includes/gallery2.php" directly in your browser? Does it display anything?

  • Running Ant Tasks from my code

    Hi,
    I am writing a build tool to compile and build all our J2EE code. To do this i need to be able to run a number of any tasks from my code, does anyone know how to do this? I could create a .bat file and get mt program to execute it but i would rather find a way of doing this directly from my code.
    Thanks
