Running webdynpro applications in examples
Hi all,
i am a layman to webdynpro development.as i was trwying to develop some basic applications i came to know some examples are already there in sdn. i dowm loaded the applications (zip files) . i ant to know how to run the examples in nwds.
thanks
sharma
hi,
this is the link where you will find all the webdynpro projects.
However, they are in zip format. You have to first unzip them and store them in the folder of the same name as the zip folder.
Now open the NWDS. Now, Window>Open perspective>webdynpro.
then Window>open view>webdynpro Explorer.
Now move to File>Import>Existing project into Workspace-->browse.
Select the project you want to load.
Now right click on the Project folder. Select rebuild properties and then run the application.
However always the application amy not run. So you can go throught he associated tutorial. There detailed steps are given to create the WebDynpro projects.

Error while running Webdynpro Application
Hi,
I have configured the J2EE engine details correctly in my NWDS. Now i'm trying to run Webdynpro Applications. When I click on Run, it is asking SDM password.
I'm entering it. Then I'm getting an error like "Deployment Aborted".
The error details are
Deployment exception : Server <xxx> did not accept login request as admin on port 50118. Details: ERROR: Could not establish connection to server <xxx> at port 50118: <xxx>
Please suggest me what may be the error and how to resolve it...
Thanks in advance..
Regards,
NareshHi Naresh,
Either your admin password is expired or you have changed the administrator password.
Do the following Steps,
Use the Config Tool to change the entry in secure storage as follows:
1. Start the Config Tool.
(Execute <SAPj2eeEngine_install_dir> configtoolconfigtool.bat.)
2. Select the secure store node.
The configuration for the secure storage in the file system appears.
3. Select the admin/password/<SID> entry.
4. Enter the administrator user's new password in the "Value" field and choose "Add".
5. Choose "File" --> "Apply" to save the data.
Note: Contrary to the message that appears, you do not need to restart the server or cluster for this change to take effect.
6. Finally restart SDM server. Then deploy.

How can i run Webdynpro application
How can i run Webdynpro application without using Developer Studio? Where should i put a whole project and how shoud i start it.
Thanks!
MaciekHi Maciej
You wouldnt require a Developer Studio to run you
application. But you would require it to deploy (if are
using the JDI ,atleast to perform an Activation).
However you can launch the application once deployed
through the Web Dynpro Content Administrator
http://<servername>:50000/webdynpro/welcome/
The deployed applications are present on the
lefthandside. They can be expanded to drill down to the
Application and the press Run

Snehal R PatilHi,
You have not described your application scenario here.
Any way the problem at first glance seems to be at some element where you have applied GridLayout.
Have you enetered any unacceptable values for some of the properties , there?

SOAP error when running webdynpro application
Hi All,
I have developed a web dynrpo application using ABAP webdynpro in se80.
When I run the application, I am getting the following error
"The following error text was processed in the system WC3 : WebDynpro Exception: SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport : HTTP send returned with status code(100.101). ꯂ 8
The error occurred on the application server sys90_WC3_00 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE "
What would be the reason for throwing this error? In the SOAP runtime of SICF, I am not able to see any web dynpro application set up. How can i add web dynpro service in SOAP runtime? Or is there any other specific reasons too for this error.
Any help is really appreciated.
Thanks
RickyHI All,

I got this error for bw system.so previous person who handling the systems told me that BW will have integrated ADS?which would get installed as part of bw installation?im not sure abt it? however one of the user is getting the SOAP error.

For what it is worth to SDN, I started at the view and moved to the window and application. Check and re-activated as I went and the error went away.

The following error text was processed in the system PAD : Die URL enthält keine vollständige Domainangabe (tcspadev statt tcspadev.
can anyone plz suggest the solution.Hi Rohit,
Please goto transaction ST22 and check the source code extract.
This is commom error in Web dynpro ABAP but reason could vary. Check the source code and here you get the exact line where your error has occured. If its a system code then kindly check all you types and data declaration. There could be type mismatch. Paste the ST22 dump the source code extract so that I can help you.

DeBugginng The WebDynPro Application
Dear Gurus,
Im new to WebDynPro for Java , i want to know to debug the application , please any one of you can explain inn detail.
what is the difference NWDS and NWDI?
Thanks in advance,
PhaniHello Phani,
To be able to debug within a running Webdynpro application, you must activate debugging of the server processes of J2EE engine.
This will be done in J2EE engine View.
Follow:-
a) Window --> Show View --> Other and then select J2EE --> J2EE engine.
Choose ok to confirm your entries. The system displays a view containing status information about the running J2EE engine.
b) expand the tree display fully until you can see the actual server processes.
c) Right click the server node and then choose Enable Debugging of Processes from the context menu.
Now, Setting a Breakpoint:-
a) Choose the place where you want to set the breakpoint. Right click on the marker bar, frame next to the line of code to open the context menu and choose add breakpoint (highlighted blue dot will appear)
Hope this helps, with respect to debugging.
NWDS:- SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio is used as an integrated development environment (IDE) which incorporates NWDI. The SAP solution is designed so that the developer can perform almost all his tasks within the development environment. Access to separate interfaces and the relevant services is only required in exceptional cases such as when having to adhere to a role concept with a manager for transporting applications. SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio is based on the platform of the Eclipse open-source development project. Using its plug-in mechanism, it supports a variety of development tasks and perspectives of the individual development objects.
NWDS is just a development environment with all robust development tools.
It can run j2ee,j2se and sap applications also.
It is an interface to access NWDI services and applications
NWDI:- NWDI is Netweaver Development Infrastructure.
NWDI provides an infrastructure to develop Java applications on netweaver platform and is responsible for versioning, building and lifecycle management of these applications developed.
It has mainly three components :
DTR(Design time repository) : for versioning of any file altered.
CBS(Component build service) : for building application in central build environment.
CMS(change management service):to transport and setup logical landscape.

BT Mighty Mouse become skippy when MacPro running intensive applications
my BT Mighty Mouse become skippy when MacPro running intensive applications. Example, I was editing my photos with Aperture while I launch Visual Hub to convert a divx to Apple TV H.264, the mouse point become very skippy or sluggish. when Visual Hub complete the encoding the mouse is back to normal. is this an interfance or cause by running the CPU too hard?
I'm going through the same "issue" actually so I hope I can save you some time.
It's a grounding issue. You can experiment:
- Touch your Mac Pro system while you're moving the mouse, or;
- Touch your keyboard while moving the mouse
If the mouse calms down and doesn't try to escape , then you have the source of the problem.
I've read a lot of discussions on this, with people replacing their mice constantly, and even doing a full re-install. So if the above works, then your solution is in figuring out how to deal with the ground-ing problem.
What's more surprising is that Apple hasn't addressed this (it seems) for some time now. With all the gyrations customers go through, you'd think there would have been some type of solution (a recall perhaps?). -
Needs a background webdynpro application running at the server side
Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we need to have an application running all the time at the server side to capture the response coming from a web application. Based on the response that the application receives, it needs to update some backend R/3 tables.
We are thinking of a webdynpro java application.
Can anyone suggest what kind of application needs to be implemented here?
And what would be the steps required to run the application at the server side without calling the application.
Thanks & Regards,
AnuragHi Robin,
Thanks for the detailed explaination.
This may sound silly to you but I've another doubt which is as follows:
As you mentioned that the external web application will be sending requests to our Web service(in SOAP envelopes) and rest of the functionality can be achieved by our web service.
Actually, we are expecting only responses from the external web application. The thing is that we are sending the requests to the external web applications from our custom webdynpro application and in return the web application will be sending us 2 responses.
First response would be back to our WD java application URL(to the browser in which WD java app is running) which would get the response and display some message based on the response.
Second would be to this web service which you have just suggested. We are having two responses so that even if the browser in which the WD java application is running gets accidentally closed, the response from the external web application must get captured somewhere else and should not get lost in any case.
So, now since we are only expecting the response from the web application and we do not want any requests from the web application to our web service; how is this possible?
I am asking the above question because you have mentioned that the external web application has to request our Web service but we want is only this web service to capture the response coming from the Web application.
Or is it like the web application will send us the response string as request string to our Web Service and the web service will capture these response parameters as request parameters from the web application and do the further processing.
But in that case, we do not want any response to be sent by the Web Service to the external web application.
Please suggest if this is possible.
Once again, many thanks for the help so far.
Thanks & Regards,
Anurag -
Problem in Running a Webdynpro Application Which uses itext.jar
Hi,
I have created a Webdynpro DC which uses a DC called xxx_lib which contains the external JAR Files. (itext.jar etc)
This JAR file is in my library path as well.
I have added the lib_dc as used DC under the webdynpro DC.
The Compilation and build went fine without any error. But when in run the Application Under ---> Content Administration --> Webdynpro , I am getting the following Error.
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
<b>java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/lowagie/text/Element
Failed to create delegate .....
(Hint: Is the corresponding DC deployed correctly? Does the DC contain the component?)</b>
Please let me know if somebody knows the solution.
Thanks and Regards,
SekarHi Sekar,
Please look into the link below.

I have successfully built a test application in WebDynPro within the NWCE 7.1, but every time I try to deploy and run the application I get the following error:
No default system is configured in SAP System Registry [ERROR: Apr 24, 2008 10:32:51 AM /userOut/daView_category (eclipse.UserOutLocation) [Thread[Worker-19,5,main]] ]
It seems like a straightforward error, but when I go to the System Registry I cannot see how to set up a default system for the application. There is no "DefaultSystem" entry and so I am sure that I have to add one, but cannot find any documentation to help me do this.
Thanks.First, thanks for the fast responses.
I had gone to SAP AS JAVA preference before, but couldn't figure out how to get my system to show up in the dropdown box. When you put in the server name and the 0 instance, it then finds the system and all instances under the system. That was my missing link.
I can now deploy and run and move on to my next (inevitable) problem.
Thanks again.
