Deadline

Question

I add a exception to an automatic activity. Then the process is end. If the deadline equals to current time, a method in the automatic activity will set something to the instance variable.
But the BPM studio does now allow me to do that.
What I want to do is adding the following PBL code:
deadline = 'now'.addMinutes(i : 1)
I don't know where the above code snippet should be added
I also try to add supflow and process creation activities between the process exceptions and end activity. However, the BPM studio shows error:
The project publication has failed. Reason: Activity ('End') belongs to flow (Main flow) and has an incoming transiton from another flow type (exception handling flow) that comes from activity (Processcreation). This is probably occurring because: 1) You are adding a transition from an activity inside a split-join circuit to an activity outside of a split-join circuit or 2) You are connecting an exception or compensate flow to the main flow.
I have to add a new interactive activity without an outgoing transition. The exception activity is before this new activity. Now, all expired instance go to this activity.
I can grab the expired instance and abort them. However, I cannot send them to other role/activity after grab and before abort.
If it is shows exception (expired), after I click the interactive activity, the process instance goes to End. But this activity does not have an transition to End activity.
I add action = BACK, but it only works once.

Hi,
Import the sample exception project "ExceptionHandling.exp" in the <StudioInstallHomeDirectory>\samples\advanced directory.
Open the "1. Simple Exception Handler Example" process. This shows the technique I think you're looking for. The only difference is that the "Exception Catcher" activity is not handling the "InstanceExpiration" exception that you want.
The "action = BACK" logic is located in the Exception Catcher activity (along with ABORT and SKIP). Since you're catching an InstanceExpiration exception, you'd want to add your "deadline = 'now'.addHours(i : 1)" to this activity's logic.
