RV082: Reliability issues

Hello!
We're using the RV082 Router and having speed & reliability issues:
Facts:
Firmware Version: 2.0.0.19-tm
DHCP
No VPN tunnels
The RV082 is connected to a Catalyst Router (managed through our internet provider) and has a static ip
Issues:
Google Maps: Certain squares don't appear. The browser indicates loading, but they don't appear
Google Images: Same as above, half of the pictures don't appear.
Backpackit.com: Loads very slow
It must be the RV082, I tried to connect to an other router and these three issues didn't appear.
What can I do?
Thanks for helping.
Best,
Silvan

OK....
Since this router is a dual wan router....
Do you have 2 internet connections?  You only mentioned one before.  I want to make sure it's only one.
Any chance this router was configured at any point for a dual wan setup?
There might be a chance its trying to load balance to a non existent connection.  That would cause the partially loaded page.
Try setting the router to DMZ instead of Dual Wan from the setup page and see if that helps.

  • OS X 10.10.1 Apple Mail reliability issue with Virgin Mail Servers

Apple Mail(8.1) reliability issue with Virgin Mail Servers on my iMac and Laptop Pro with the new Yosemite update!  Spent 1.5hrs with the virgin team (thought we solved it by changing from Auto to one minute update) only to find on return I still have an issue with Mail!  On the iMac the account opens and I see all the mail arriving. When I switch over and the back, days of recent mail have disappeared?
If I search for one I saw, It is found?
On the Laptop Pro, its similar, but it also has a problem remembering the outgoing port no matter how often I save it keeps going back to port 143 and this makes the send fail each time?
Will I have to move to another mail client or is their a fix coming?

The last version of Mail for Tiger is v2.1.3 & there won't be any updates/upgrades.
You might try the freeware mail app Thunderbird. http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ It's newer than Mail for Tiger.
How Thunderbird 3 works on Mac OS X: Better than Apple Mail?

  • IPhone's reliability issue

Today after receiving several calls around noon, the phone stopped ringing. The phone still receives calls, but it will not ring. I tried to turn the vibrator on and off, but no use. It just won't ring and no sound output from the speaker for any ipod music or movie. I had to power off and power on to get the speaker to work again. I missed one important call because of the muted speaker. If I hadn't check my phone, this muted speaker would have gone on all day and I would had missed more calls.
This is my first time encountering this problem and I am frustrated. This clearly points to a reliability problem. This phone was a replacement from several weeks ago due to my first iPhone had large dead pixels. So this one is practically a new phone. What good is a phone if it recieves call but won't ring??? If this happens again and I misses another important call, I am cancelling my service and returning my iPhone for a full refund. This reliability issue is totally unacceptable with a basic phone feature "ringing" not working properly. Does this happen to you?

Well I hate to be "that guy" but I've had my iPhone for over six months now and I've found it to be even more reliable than my old one-trick pony Nokia 3100 series "dumb" phone and I believe problems with iPhone are more of the exception than the rule.
I don't want to get too philosophical, but people tend to point the finger, like lets say Microsoft Windows, and say "that's an bad, unstable operating system" when in actuality, if you install Windows on some standard hardware and don't install anything else, it will hum along playing Solitaire & Pinball practically forever. 3rd party apps & drivers, and faulty hardware can cause Windows to crash and Windows gets blamed.
I think iPhone might be kind of like that. Maybe local towers are sending funky signals or something requiring the phone to be reset (and I admittedly don't know much about cell technology). I don't know, all I know is in over six months I haven't had any kind of reliability problem with the iPhone or the iPhone software platform.

  • Verdict on Retina reliability/ issues?

I've spent hours searching on this but am still confused on the general opinion on the matter. I'm looking to get a refurb or used Retina for part of my editing suite. Would like to get it over the non-retina for a number of reason, but I'm concerned about the reliability issues like the screen (burn-in, flicker), fans over-running, GPU issues, etc. I'd definitely get the extended AppleCare, but am wondering if the unit is fit for prime time even with it.
So, does anyone have any thoughts on the overall reliability/ advisability of a retina as an everyday editing computer? Are the early 2013 models more reliable than the 2012's? Also, will Apple take care of you and eventually give you a reliable rMBP if you go to them with AppleCare?
    Thanks for any help!

You should inquire of the reseller, if you can return the unit and get another.
In the US, you have 14 days to return a computer, for refund or replacement.
Then, the issues are hopefully resolved under warranty.
Which model version identifier build/year configuration did you buy?
Usually the reseller or authorized Apple specialist with service would handle it.
Could be your sample may have issues they could help diagnose & resolve.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • RV082 Connectivity Issues

I have a RV082 router that is acting up. It intermittently prevents most clients from connecting to the internet and each other. I am unable to log into the web interface, but can ping it. Once I cycle the power on it, it will function for a short while and I am able to login to it. It is random which clients get dropped each time. A client might maintain internet access, but is unable to login to the router's web interface. It can be hours before it acts up, but won't last for 24 hours without needing to be reset.

    Hi Chris
I´m a little curious about your router firmware, ensure you are running the latest version, the latest release is the 4.2.1.02, and you could download it here
If you are running the latest and the problem persists, can you please reach out to our Small Business Support Center and open a Service Request to address this issue? One of our Engineers may be able to work with you and diagnose the root cause. You can find the appropriate contact information for SBSC in the below link.

  • RV082 Connection Issue

We have a RV082 that we have recently purchased to replace a Snap Gear SG582 . I have configured it to connect to both our 100Mbs Comcast (cable) connection with a static IP and our Dual T-1 with a static IP. Only the Cable connection is connected to the RV082 as that will be our main ISP and the T-1 will be a fail over. The RV082 cannot ping the gateway on the cable conection. I can confirm that the cable connection does work as I set a laptop to the same static IP as the RV082 and connected directly to the Cable Modem. I could not only ping but browse.

    Raheel,
Browse to System Management-> Dual-WAN. Select Load Balance and you will see the Protocol Binding at the bottom of the page. Select Service Management to create the service for the port range. Here are some example settings:
Service: cpanel (Custom service created by you for ports 2080-2090)
Source IP: 192.168.1.2 to 254 (Substitute your LAN IPs)
Destination IP: Use IP of cpanel server or all zeroes for any
Interface: Bind traffic to WAN 1 or WAN 2
    Enable: Select
When done, Add to list and Save Settings. This should force all traffic for ports 2080-2090 to use the selected WAN port. It is a good idea to do this for HTTPS as well since there are known issues.

  • Linksys e4200 connection reliability issues

Hello there. A few months ago, I bought a new Linksys E4200 and it had no issues, until now. Recently, the reliability of this thing has dipped. The connection would just stop working and I'd have to unplug the box and reboot it. Other times, the Cisco logo would start blinking and the connection would stop, then it'd fix itself. But today, both things kept happening over and over to the point where I had to switch to the Netgear router that Comcast provided me with (which is working perfectly). As a mine craft server runner, I rely on a constant, reliable connection. What should I do? The e4200 is still faster than the Netgear thing so I'd like to get it fixed.

  • RV082 - Having issues with VoIP phone

Our office uses and RV082 and recently installed an IPECS PBX system with VoIP support.  We have a one-to-one NAT set up to allow access from outside to the IPECS shelf that works fine.  When we hook an IP phone at a remote location the IPECS system sees the phone and assigns it an IP but the phone itself will not come up.  We tested the same phone against another office and different router and the phone came up fine, so it's not the phone.  We went as far as dropping the firewall to check against the settings but the phone still didn't come up.  The RV082 doesn't have any settings directly related to H323, so we're at a loss as what needs to be tweaked to get the phone up and working.  We've looked in forums but haven't found a solution.  Anyone run across/resolve this before?
    Thanks.

        Hi Ginabuonfiglioruth,
Let's get that screen up and running! I know that it can be frustrating if your screen doesn't give you the option to hang up. What LG device are you using? Sounds like it could be the screen timeout option. I would recommend going into your settings, then looking for screen.  I am sure you find the resolution here. Keep us posted.

  • Mail merge speed/reliability issues

As a company we regularly conduct mail merges for anywhere from 50 to 3000 data records within InDesign. We merge to a document with 3/4 layers and 3/4 linked images (but this isn't the cause of the speed issues as it is still slow when these are removed). However, the merge crashes InDesign when using text files of more than 500 data records. This means we have to do all large mail merges in batches of ~250 to maintain system performance. NB, we do use fairly high-spec machines - does anyone know if InDesign mail merges tend to require VERY high spec-machines?
If anyone has any suggestions for performing mail merges (from text files or MS Access) using InDesign I would greatly appreciate them? Any plug-ins specifically intended for mail merges or even better just some tips on machine spec and InDesign/data settings?
    Many thanks

    Some questions:
Which version of office were you using before? 2003?
Are the data files on a network, or on your local machine? If they are on a network, can you make a copy of one of them on your local machine and try again?
Can you open the files directly in Excel? What extension do they have (.xls, or something else?) I am wondering whether access to other file types has been left blocked on your machine but is allowed on your colleague's machine.
Are you just opening the mail merge main document and seeing this message? If so, do you see the same thing if you start with a new document and try to connect to one of these data sources?
Can you confirm that the message is about Access even though you are trying to connect to an Excel file?
(Also, office 2007 has some new stuff - that let's you specify that certain folders are "trusted" . I don't think that ever affected MailMerge but it may be as well to make sure that your documents and data sources are in trusted locations).
Also worth trying to start Word in "Safe mode" - see, e.g. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/work-with-office-safe-modes-HP010140792.aspx

  • RV082 Skype issue

    Hello,
I just want to know can we seperate skype traffic on cisco RV-082 router or fix to 1 WAN connection to balance load? Our 80% load on router is from Skype and due to dual WAN we are facing issues in Skype voice calls.

And http is just another protocol.  Put an entry in for each WAN to bind http requests to that WAN.  Whatever WAN Skype starts out on is where it will stay.
I've run across the same problems you've described with other things I run via http and https, like my server's control panel.  Once it detects another IP, it automatically kicks me off.  Once I bind the protocols to each WAN for my server, the session stays put once established.

  • SATA Reliability Issues?

My IBM Deskstar 75GXP 20gig drive seems to be starting to bite the dust... I read quite a while ago on tomshardware.com the excellent reviews on Western Digital's Raptor series of SATA drives.
So, a few hours ago, while trying to recover files from my seemingly soon-to-be-dead IBM drive, I purchased a WD360 Raptor drive for $109 shipped.
After the fact, I did some searching around the net and read this:
    http://www.ata-atapi.com/sata.htm
It raised my brow and I'm posting here to ask of any of you who are running a SATA bootable system, have youhad any issues or problems like those or beyond what the article exposes on ata-atapi.com?
I use my computer for general computer, online sales, web design, publication design... I need it to be as resliable as possible...
so, depending on what replies i get, i might wind up returning or selling off the WD360 and going with another EIDE drive....
    thanks,

No problems here.... Interesting article....but I cant beleive that SATA are slower...every thing I have tried with them has been faster...not just in tests....but in all the hands on things... I really noticed a change....not bending the cables to a sharp angle I have read....but whats up with the cable sheild thing....have to check that out.....but with a 5 Year warrenty...I aint worried....its just a song and a   to me....

  • Considering a 1TB TC for my business, but the reviews are horrible. Can anyone shed light on reliability issues?

Can anyone help me with the reliability of this product?

Several years ago there was a batch of Time Capsules that used a particular type of faulty component.  (This problem wasn't limited to Time Capsules, but affected other vendor's equipment as well.)  That is no longer a problem.  It's hard to extrapolate from a sample of two, but over time I've bought two Time Capsules, one three years ago and the other nearly two years ago, and they're both still working fine.

  • Using Airpot Express to bridge existing WiFi to Ethernet: reliability issue

Hi list. Having some problems with my network since adding an Airport Express to it. Hoping someone can help me out.
    My setup:
    WiFi router (a Thomson 585n 802.11n model)
    ...connects wirelessly to...
Airport Express (newest model, the .11n one)
    ...connects over Ethernet to...
    generic 10/100 switch
    ...connects over Ethernet to...
PS3, Xbox 360, DNS-323 NAS, and my TV
All four of the devices downstream of the switch experience intermittent difficulties connecting. They fail to get IPs, or they connect then drop the connection, or they simply fail to connect at all. This problem continues to exist on any given device if I eliminate the switch at connect directly to the Airport Express.
However, iTunes will happily stream music to the Airport Express without any problems I've seen. The LED on the front of the Express stays green. Pings from my Macbook to my Airport Express always work, even while the PS3 is failing to connect. So I think the wireless link is working fine. I conclude it's a problem within the Airport Express's bridging functionality.
Now, there isn't an awful lot I can change. The Express is set to "join wireless network" and "allow Ethernet clients". It's connection sharing is set to "Off (bridge mode)", which is right, I think (although that dialog is also ghosted and I'm not allowed to adjust it). That's the only setting I can do, actually -- "extend a wireless network" and "join a WDS network" both fail, probably because of my router.
Is there anything I can do to fix this or diagnose the problem further? I'm wondering if something is up with the MAC routing.

Anyone got a follow up on this?
I'm having a similar problem (although I can't get connected at all).
I'm trying to use ProxySTA on my Airport Express to bridge to an Xbox 360.
    Set up is as follows:
    - Livebox connected to broadband line
    - Airport Express connected wirelessly using WPA2 ('Join wireless network' with 'Allow Ethernet Clients' selected)
    - Xbox connected to Airport Express with Ethernet
Can't get it to connect. I'm pretty sure the LiveBox doesn't support WDS so ProxySTA is my only hope I think - as such, can someone please help us both on this thread? Thanks.

  • Reliability issues... no kidding.

I have been constantly trying to get my broadband connection up so I can configure my Cisco router and after 10 hours of trying to connect and speaking to the support desk nothing has come of it.
The service messages state as seen below that the service has an MSO at the exchange which is affecting all of the numbers below.  You would think that BT would have some sort of redundancy systems in place to stop such events happening.
Maybe they should look at more ways to keep a regular servie so that half of London does not suffer outages like this again.
Come on guys get your act together!
    Dialling codes affected:  0207, 0208 and 0203
    Estimated time to resolve: 2hrs
We know that some of our customers in the London area are having trouble getting online at the moment. Sorry about this. We're working to fix the problem as quickly as we can.

service outages happen with all services gas electricity tv services all have outages something the modern world has to put up with redundancy is built in but equipment can fail recent example happened in Scotland operating equipment failed and redundancy failed as well without warning

  • Unbelievably poor connection and reliability issue...

This has now been going on since October last year when BT started migrating accounts over from Yahoo.
First the E mail went wrong and is still VERY unreliable, I have three E mail accounts, A primary and two sub accounts. On an average day one will not be working it always says the PW is wrong ( it isnt) next day  another of the E mail accounts wont work instead.
Next connections, since October last year and getting much much worse lately my connections either WIFI or Cable  to the web via my home hub have been failing on average 20 to 30 times a day.
I reported it to BT and they told me I needed a new hub, I duly got a new hub from BT and it has no noticable imprvement. day in day out the connection keeps dropping or the web freezes or the web page I use times out or I get only a blank page.
I have to reset the hub multiple times daily.
Again this has gone on for MONTHS now.
NOW  ( Late August 2014) the web is griinding to a complete halt, I pay for unlimited and get NO CONNECTION AVAILABLE for half the day.
All the tests I do tell me that the problem is ISP / DNS related, and that is hen I can actually get through to BTs own help section because 99% of the time when I go to the BT homr page it does not connect ( Page unavailable) or it freezes, or more often the HELP PAGE simply does not load properly.
When I do eventually get through and do a service test it ALWAYS says there is no fault, regardless of if I use my own laptop, wifes notepad, sons gaming PC.
PLEASE NOTE it has taken me since 9.20 AM this morning to get this far on BTs help pages because it either does not load, does not connect, or only a half loaded page appears and it wont let me navigate without freezing. This is happening on MULTIPLE PCS wired and wireless connections
Its a BT hub 3   using both wireless and wired connections to modern PCs running Win 7 or 8.1

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
