RZ70 and SLDAPICUST

1.) Is it true that the tcode RZ70 tells a ABAP server which SLD to update?
2.) Is it true that the RFC connections SLDAPICUST and LCRSAPRFC tells a ABAP server which SLD to use?
3.) Is it true that in Visual Admin the service "SLD DATA SUPPLIER" the configuration of the HTTP SETTINGS tab tells the server which SLD to update AND which SLD to use?

Thank you. The reason I'm asking these questions is because I want my Solution Manager server to report to my XI server using RZ70, but I want the Solution Manager server to read the local SLD on the Solution Manager box.
1.) I set RZ70 on the Solution Manager box to point to my XI server.
2.) I created a bridge from the XI server to the Solution Manager box. This will keep the Solution Manager box up-to-date with changes in the SLD
3.) On the Solution Manager box ,the RFC connections LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI  point to the Solution Manager box. I'm assuming this will force the Solution Manager server to use the local SLD.
For the Java engine running on Solution Manager I used Visual admin to set the "HTTP Settings" option in SLD Data Supplier to point to the XI server.
Is there a setting in the Java that tells it which SLD to read?

  • ABAP System not available in SLD?

    Hello,
We're having a very strange problem with one of our systems in that it will not register in the SLD.  It is a BW 7.0 system and RZ70 and SLDAPICUST are both configured correctly and SLDCHECK shows that everything is working as expected.  Yet, when you log onto the SLD, the system simply is not there in the Technical ABAP Systems.  But, the Java side is working fine in that it does show up under Technical Java Systems.
Any ideas of what might be happening?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Just an update.  When I try to maually register the system in the SLD, I get an error at the end that says:  CIM_ERR_ALREADY_EXISTS...  It sounds like it is doing the self registration, but just isn't visible for some reason.
edit - well, it appears that the process of trying to manually register the system, eventhough it failed, tweaked something such that the system is self registering now and everything appears to be normal.  not sure what was going on, but things appear OK now.

  • Best Practise for multiple SLDs and CMS

    Hi Guys,
We are planning on our XI Landscape, can you guide me to best practices document or weblogs on where it answers my following points.
We are planning to have DEV - QA - PROD XI Boxes. We are planning to implement CMS. What is the optimal approach, pros and cons of each approach.
    1) Installing one central SLD which would be either on DEV or QA box. CMS also installed on the same box.
    2) Installing two SLDs
        i) one on Dev Box. CMS on Dev Box sharing SLD
ii) second SLD on QA box which is shared by PROD box which will be the SLD used for production.
<i><b>I would be happy to see responses with any existing landscapes which are being implemented by you guys in case of CMS also in picture.</b></i>
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Sujan

    Hi,
In my project we have maitained 2 SLD one for Production landscape and one for non-Production landscape. However the High Availability scenario is available in 7.1 but it is not there in release 7.0.
In case of release 7.0 you have to follow the following procedure to have the similar (HA) kind of scenario:
1). In case of ABAP and dual stack go to SLDAPICUST and maitain two entries for SLD with proper host name, port number and PIAAPLUSER detail.
    Make one entry as Primary.
Also if JAVA stack is also there then go to Admin tool and maintain the detail in "HTTP Setting" of the "SLD Data Service" with the data of the primary SLD just maintained above through SLDAPICUST.
2). In case of only JAVA stack maitain the detail in "HTTP Setting" of the "SLD Data Service" with the data of the primary SLD.
Note--Here there is no option to maintain two SLD server details.
3). Now Login to ABAP/+JAVA stack server at the SAP GUI level and check the connection by executing SLDCHECK command. If it works fine then do the following:
a). Now to make your two SLD in sync login to SLD with Admin user having write access to LCR (e.g. PISUPER, j2ee_admin in case of ABAP+JAVA or "administrator" user in case of JAVA stack) and go to Administration->Data Suppliers->Add SLD.
Here you have to add the other SLD detail in the form of "http://<servername>:<j2eeport>/, with SLDDSUSER ID detail. This will make both the SLD in sync to each other.
Note--Make sure that the password for all the user mentioned above is same in both the SLD otherwise it would cause an error.
b). Also take the full export of your primary SLD by going through "Administartion->Export" and Import it in your secondary SLD. This will make both the SLD in sync with each other initialy and you won't get any error when both SLD tried to sync automaticaly.
4). In the case when one SLD is down then make the other SLD primary through the transaction "SLDAPICUST", RZ70 and by logging through Admin tool. Check your setting through the transaction SLDCHECK.
Note--In RZ70 you have only one option and you can maitain only one SLD detail at a time. So whenever there is a problem in one SLD make sure that you have make the changes in RZ70 as well with the new detail of the SLD.
    Best regards,
    sheo

  • Discovery of SAP Systems and Applications

I want to discover all the SAP systems present in my organization (System Landscape). Also, I want to get the information about the applications installed in them, for instance CRM, SRM etc. I believe I can use CCMS to do this which has this information in it's central repository but then all the remote repositories have to register themselves initially. What if one or more of them have not registered?? I somehow want to get the fool-proof information regarding all the systems whether they are registered or not. Any ideas or suggestions regarding this please??? Thanks in advance!!

first you need to activate and start you sld to do this select any of your system login to sld http://host name:50xx00/sld where xx is your instance number
from the abap side you need to sldapicust and set the logon
credentials for you abap system to SLD and then got to RZ70 and execute it(this whill schedule a job in the BTC) after this got o sldcheck and see if this is working fine
form the java side logon to visual admin go to server then services select sld data supplier and enter the logon information in HTTP tab and select test/trigger buttton on the top
there are lot of tutorials in this website on how to configure SLD in this website
you will also get a step by step document on setting up SLD at http://host name:50xx0/sld/doc/sld.pdf

  • Solman_setup and central&local solution manager SLD

    Hello,
I'm configuring our solution mananger system with transaction solman_setup. The local SLD of the solution manager will also be the central SLD of all our systems. After finishg the basic configuration in solman_setup, and go to "managed system configuration", I  can only see the only solution manager system, as ABAP and as JAVA, but no more systems (right, as I haven't defined more systems).
I cannot create more ABAP  system with the link "maintain technical systems", the ABAP option when I select create isn't there.
If I create another type of system as a test, for example, third party, the transaction SMSY can see this new system, but the SLD in http://<my_solution_manager_system>:50000/sld doesn't show this new system at all.
Where must I create the systems? and how can I connect the SLD and the SMSY transaction? Should I "add SLD" at the Administration in http://<my_solution_manager_system>:50000/sld and put the suolution manager itsefl system?
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,
    Ana

    Hi,
To ensure a system is registering into the SLD and synchronising with SMSY, go to transaction RZ70 and define the Host and Service.
Also, set up a user for accessing the SLD in transaction SLDAPICUST. The user has to exist in the Java stack to log into the SLD.
Also ensure your RFCs are correctly set up for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI as per this link:
    https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-37953?treeid=DOC-7936
Then use transaction SLDCHECK to ensure your connection is working.
Finally enable SLD synchronisation into SMSY by transaction SMSY > Goto > Setup System Landscape Maintenance. Define the same host and port of your SLD and schedule the data transfer.
This should pick up the system once the landscape_fetch background job executes into SMSY.
You can use this approach for all your managed systems and is the most logical way to connect systems to the SLD.

    -Rohan

  • AS-ABAP (BI) system registration in SLD RZ70 Error

Hi guys, I'm following the SAP note 983156 - BI configuration w. Template Installer and I'm in the step in order to establish communication between my BW IDES and Portal.
""Checking the AS-ABAP (BI) system registration in SLD""
    the note says:
"When configuring the Webdynpro Jco destination connectivity the AS-ABAP (BI) system must be configured in the SLD."
    Procedure:
Logon to the SLD: http://<host>:<port>/sld. (Your configured SLD (central or local SLD))
Please check in Home -> Technical Systems -> select type ABAP. This
should have configuration of your ABAP (BI) system.
If it is missing, logon to your ABAP (BI) system -> goto transaction RZ70. Fill in the SLD bridge: gateway info -> Activate -> Start data collection."
Well, when I'm in SDL Home > Technical systems, I have nothing there, so I started to enable the SDL Bridge in RZ70 and after running it, it gives me the error:
0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Collection of SLD data finished
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Data collected successfully
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : RFC data prepared
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Used RFC destination: IBM_PORTAL_IAN
0: ibm_IAM_00                                : RFC call failed: JCO.Server could not find server function 'SET_SLD_DATA'

1: ibm_IAM_00                                : Event-controlled job already exists; scheduling not necessary
I looked through other posts, I eliminated SLD_NUC and SLD_UC from JAVA Visual Administrator, but still, the error persists.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Kuatroka,
In relation to the following error received: "JCO.Server could not find server function SET_SLD_DATA"
    1) RZ70 could not find gateway - check gateway defined in RZ70 is up and running in host and SLD home page ->Administration -> Data Supplier Bridge and SLD gateway host is reachable from ABAP system host.
    2) Be aware SLD/J2EE does not install a gateway as standard - you must either install a dedicated gateway instance using Presentation CD/DVD or you must use a local ABAP gateway (normally local ABAP stack if SLD runs on J2EE ADDIN) or ensure the definitions are correct for any other ABAP systems gateway you choose to use
    3) Check the definitions in SLD -> Administration ->Data Supplier Bridge match the definitions in RZ70 - try also FQDN. Ensure these are the same!
    4) If you are operating multiple SLD see SAP note 700127
    5) Ensure you have not manually created entries for SLD_UC and SLD_NUC in the JCO RFC provider of the visual administrator. The SLD has its own internal JCO provider so there should be no entries in that of the Engine.
I am not sure of your SP levels, but this may also apply: if you have a gateway service on the defined host, the definitions
match between RZ70 and SLD, the gateway is running then it could be a problem with RZ70 - implement notes 906454 and 926089 and 907729.
    I hope this information helps.
    All the best,
    Cristiano

  • System Landscape Directory, WHY and HOW

    Hello Forum,
I have few Doubts with reference to SLD.
    1. I am not sure why it is required.
    2. I have installed Netweaver Sneek Preview - JAVA version, I have R/3 4.6 system , and I have another Installation which has BW3.5, EP 6, J2EE . How configure SLD among these ????
I want to keep Netweaver Sneek Preview as the main server for SLD.
    Thanks

    Hello Gregor
I figured out little and got SLD working for 2 things. But 3rd one, I am getting RFC error as below , while configuring.
Before that I would like to give details about landscape.
    1. I have installed NetWeaver Sneak Preview - JAVA Version on Windows 2000. This I want to make as SLD Server.
I did data transfer using Visual Administration tool on this and Web AS Java, details available when I check the Technical System Browser for this.
I also established the bridge to R/3 4.6C by providing Hostname , sapgw00 - And this server details are also available in the SLD page under Web AS ABAP.
    2. I have R/3 4.6C installed on Unix box
On this , I went to RZ70 and configured, these details are available on SLD page under Web AS ABAP ( previous point)
    3. Now, I have 3rd system installed on UNIX box - details are NetWeaver ( BW 3.5 , J2EE , EP 6.0) . I am trying to do the same steps as done to R/3 4.6c in RZ70 but getting RFC Error as below.
    Collection of SLD data finished
    Data collected successfully
    RFC data prepared
    Used RFC destination: SLD_NUC
RFC call failed: Error opening an RFC connection.
Existing periodic jobs removed. Number: 1
    Program scheduled: 20050917 015300
Event-controlled job already exists; scheduling not necessary.
What need to be done ?????
    Thanks

  • XI 3.0 versus NWA (CEN system)

    Hi,
in our company, we have up to 30 productive systems. From Releases 46c to ERP 7.0 (BW, CRM ...)!
These SAP systems are all connected (agents) with CEN, the central monitoring system (NW04, double stack, SPS 16)!
All is fine and working well!
Now i have configure the NWA from CEN! In all guides, the authors write that all satellite abap systems have to connect to SLD with transaktion rz70 and on java side with the SLD Data Supplier in the local admin console!
    My questions is:
What should i do with XI 3.0 SR1! I want also bind the XI on NWA (SLD from CEN)!
All our XI systems (Dev, CONS, PROD) have an own SLD!
What can I do, to use both SLDs (CEN, lokal SLD)?
    sldapicust?
    rz70?
    SLD Data Supplier?
    manuell?
    Thanks!
    mfg,

    Hi,
Maybe you can use the Data Supplier Bridge of the local SLD's of your XI-systems, to forward the data to the SLD of you CEN...

  • Technical Systems Not Reflected in SLD

    Hi Experts,
    Good day.
We are configuring administrative SLD as part of NWA setup in Solman dual stack as per Monitoring Setup Guide Netweaver 7.0 SPS 16. We have a separate productive SLD in XI.
As per the document, we need to have the data from XI forwarded to our Solman system. We have completed required settings in SLDAPICUST, RFC connections, JCO RFC Provider and SLD Data Supplier, added new data supplier bridge in XI pointing to our Solman system and afterwards, triggered data transfer from XI through RZ70 and SLD Data Supplier which is successful.
However, only the ABAP and Java stack of our solman gets reflected in our administrative SLD.
Via transaction SLDCHECK from ABAP, we're getting the following error:
    Calling function EXCHANGE_PROFILE_GET_PARAMETER
Retrieving data from the XI Profile...
Function call returned exception code     3
Access to the XI Profile is currently disrupted.
From XI SLD logs, we have the  following error:

What is unknown Parameters and how to make them correct ?
What about RZ70 RFC Failure ?
    Give me some solutions..
    Regards,

-check your hosts and services files for ip and port definitions
    - use sldapicust tx-code for sld settings
    - use rz70 tx-code  for correcting host name and scheduling periodic jobs
    - go to visual administrator and check definitions for "sld data supplier"

  • R/3 to XI Config

    Hello Guru's,
I want to set the connection from R/3 to XI config. I have been reading that I need to set the roles right, I did the following.
    Transaction: SXMB_ADM
    XI (Integration Server)
Role of Business Sytem: Integration Server
    Corresponding Integ. Server: http://<server>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    SRM (Application System)
Role of Business Sytem: Application System
    Corresponding Integ. Server: http://<server>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
When I do a check for the SRM system I am getting an error saying:
No Access to system landscape at present.
    What can be wrong?
    Hope someone can help,
    Guido

    Hi Guido,
I was just reading some of the URL's pasted and am new to posting, but not new to XI.
my experience with XI and connection to R3 is 2 fold.
What version of R3 is it?
In my environment we had a 620 R3 and a 640 XI 3.0 system the SXMB_ADMIN (SXMB_ADM too) config for set to the http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry with a fully qualified domain.  if the connection didn't work it was because for some odd reason my (transaction) SLDAPICUST connection information userid was locked.
We just upgraded to ECC 6.0 (700) and that same entry in SXMB_ADMIN Config is dest://INTEGRATION_SERVER (the SM59 entry for HTTP connection to ABAP System).  My idoc communications were hosed up when we upgraded and found that to be the issue.
If you didn't do the PFCG mass generate roles (in XI) in the post install steps that could also be a problem (assuming this is a new/newer installation of XI) that would set up your roles to assign and generate the roles.  If it's a newer SLD connection and you have to regenerate (transaction PFCG->Utilities->Mass generation-> <Additional restriction> Role SAP_SLD* and select Generate automatically, also do SAP_XI*).
Make sure your entries are consistent in SLDAPICUST, SM59 (LCRSAPRFC and SLDAPICUST).  Another transaction to confirm is transaction RZ70.  That should round you out for the SLD connections in ECC.
These are the standard connections for a conection from R3 to XI based on my experience.

  • SLD fails to connect to Solution Manager

I am trying to populate SMSY with information from my SLD.  The SLD appears to be setup properly as I am able to view all of my systems directly within the SLD.  However, when I try to view the information in SMSY, The system cannot find anything.
I have configured RZ70, SMSY_SETUP, and SLDAPICUST and have performed numerous SLDCHECK's.  I found one error to be with the password in SLDAPICUST as has been mentioned in many threads, however, this only works temporarily.  I am still having to unlock user SLDAPIUSER randomly.  (It is random).  I have checked and reset all my passwords with no luck.
I have looked through all the Solution Manager and SLD manuals I could find and there seems to be very little information regarding the connection of the SLD to Solution Manager (Via SMSY).  Could someone please help me.  I have been struggling with this for a few weeks now and still nothing appears in SMSY.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    hi,
    problem still unsolved?
maybe any 6.40-systems in your landscape? in these ones you have to input in TAC SLDAPICUST the characters in your password uppercase - because of case-sensitivity...

How long will this job ""SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001"  will be running.

    Hi Gayathri,
Most of the errors you mentioned above are not relevant for this issue.
What is the CR content of your SLD? If the CR content is damaged then follow 1891566 - Repair of LMDB CR Content
otherwise you may go through 1555955 - SAP Solution Manager 7.1 - Performance Checks for LMDB to troubleshoot.
