Safari 8 downloads a blank.html file issue

Hi all...
   I am new to web developing in jsp. I am facing a issue that safari 8 downloads automatically a blank.html file. while safari 7 does not has this isssue.
what may be the reason for this ?
should i configure safari settings or coding problem ?
What to do to fix this issue..
thanx in advance

While you can try switching Off  Safari - Preferences - Extensions; and clearing data for that sitein Safari - Preferences - Privacy... it's often a problem with the site coding or server, and can't be fixed at your end.
Of course, if this happens everywhere - still try without extensions, and also test in a new or Guest user account.

    How do I download and saves html files off my website to store and save using Dreamweaver CS3?
    I need to save all files from web and store onto a drive to reupload to a new domain name.  I use Dreamweaver CS3.

    First define your Local Site folder in Dreamweaver.  DW will use this folder to store your site files.
    Go to Manage Sites > New or Edit site.  See screenshots.
    Servers:  Enter your remote server's log-in details.  When complete, hit TEST to see if the connection is working.  If all is well, hit SAVE.
    From the Files Panel (F8), click on Remote Server to show the files that are currently there.  Click the green Down Arrow to GET files from remote server to your local site folder.

  • Safari can't open HTML files on a CD

    After months of work, I prepared a CD with many HTML files for
    disribution. Now I discover that SAFARI and FIREFOX cannot recognize or open the disk. Heartbroken - and broke.

    Hi Howard ...
    Insert the Cd an open it, drag the files to a NEW folder on your desktop.
    Now open the files by a simple double click ...

  • NetStorage downloads a redirect html file?

    This is weird.
    All of a sudden NetStorage on OES2 SP1 is not downloading any files properly.
    Every file you download results in a 156 kb file that's really an HTML file that says:
    <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Novell Proxy</TITLE></HEAD><BODY><b><p>HTTP request is being redirected to HTTPS.<p><A HREF="https://server.abc.com:443/oneNet/NetStorage/DriveL@DATA3/DIS/Novell%20Admin/Documentation/Cluster%20Services/NetWare%206%20Cluster%20Services%20install.doc">re direct</A> </b></BODY></HTML>
    WTH? I have no idea where this "Novell proxy" is coming from, as I'm hitting the server directly (no proxies in between).
    I've restarted tomcat, apache and novlxsrvd to no avail.

    On OES2 SP1, sorry. Anyway, on OES2 SP1, it always redirects you to HTTPS no matter what.
    HOwever, turns out the problem went away by removing the auth domain and re-adding it for some strange reason.
    What threw me off was the "Novell Proxy" line in the HTML file. I was like, we have no Novell Proxy.

  • Adding Java download header to html files.

    I have a small java script applet I am adding to my website. I don't know Javascript but know enough to add it to my .html document for my website. What I am looking for is what to add to my html file so that if someone opens it and does not have java installed it will prompt them to download and install it (So they can then run the script). Obviously it would need to handle any differences between operating systems and browsers.

There's JavaScript, which the browsers have built-in engines to deal with, and then there are Java Applets, which are a different thing and need the Java plugin (JRE) to be able to deal with the Java runtime. But the two are different things altogether.

  • Blank.template file issue

    Alright guys,
    I messed up!
    I was trying to get pages to permantly set the default language to Australian English, when I found that the pretty much the only way to do it is save a new blank template. (this is the normal blank template with the language set to Australian)
    I tried to take it a step further and update ( well replace) the original blank.template file in the package folder,
    And now i get error when opening old documents.
    I know i shouldnt have messed with the application package
    but If anyone here is kind enough to upload a copy of their original blank.template file
    i'd be ever so grateful
    That should fix it straight away
    P.S. yes, i've already slapped myself for replacing without backing up a copy
    <Edited by Host>

    To have Pages in Australian english you change it in the System preferences. Not fiddeling with the application at all. You can create a blank template and change all the styles to australian english and then save that template as a template and it will be located in My templates in the New tempalte chooser.
    To get an original blank template in the right location install Pages again.

  • KM, HTML file, Not rendering correctly

    Hi Everyone
    I have an html file that is stored in knowledge management.  The html file references few folders/images that are also stored in KM. When I create a KM Document iView, the HTML file shows; however, the various images/style sheet that is stored along with the html file KM do not appear.  Thus the html file is not rendering properly.
    With this being said, I can create an URL iview and everything works as it should (the html file appears correctly with the necessary images).  The problem is that I am developing a solution for an external and internal facing portal, thus the URL iView option is not going to work for me.  I need to have a way for this KM html iView to display properly...perhaps with the KM Document iView template.
    Has anyone encountered an issue such as this and can offer assistance.  Again, the KM Document iView template will work, if the html file it is calling in KM can correctly reference other folders in KM that contain various images/style sheets that are a part of the html file.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Scott

    Hi Scott.
    In order to solve your problem with relative links to image and css files inside KM I suggest two variants:
    1. Replace relative links as I mentioned in this message Re: JavaScript and CSS info in WPC.
    2.The second solution is:
    a. Create an blank html file inside KM folder where the base.html file is stored.
    b. Download the newly created file for local editing.
    c. Place an iframe that points to your base html file between <BODY></BODY> tags. Use a following code as an example:
    <iframe width="100%" height="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="base.html"></iframe>
    d. Upload this file back to KM.
    e. Point your KM Document  iView to the created html file.

  • Does Spotlight Search HTML Files?

    I have a folder full of HTML files I just imported to my MacBook about a week ago. They have been backed up by my Time Capsule. But when I search for keywords in the contents of them, they do not show up. The file names will show up, but none of the contents (which are mainly text). I have tried to force Spotlight to search only the folder that contains the files, but it does not seem to be searching the HTML files.
    Are HTML file contents excluded from Spotlight searches? I seem to have a number of webpages that come in Spotlight for keyword searches that appear to be the result of searching the file contents. So is there a trick to this? Is there some way I can force Spotlight to index this folder? Just not sure why it seems to search the contents of some HTML files and not others.

    Are HTML file contents excluded from Spotlight searches?
    No, HTML files are not excluded.
    Open System Preferences > Spotlight, under Search Results tab is Webpages checked?
    If yes, download a new html file and see if Spotlight finds it. If yes, then it could be a permissions issue with the files you imported. Do a Get Info and compare permissions between the new and old files.
    You can reset your permissions on all your files similar to Disk Utility using the Recovery Drive. See instructions here:
    Use OS X Recovery Disk Assistant to reset Your files and folder permissions

  • Blank PDF files

    Anyone know why Safari is saving blank PDF files? It used to work fine. I have OS 10.6.8

    Back up all data.
    Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
    From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
    If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Calling html file within web.show document as a report output

    /* this is blank html file included javascript for disabling mouse right click working fine*/
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('http://prod.artisticmilliners.com:8000/files/file.html','_blank');
    /* this is oracle report output within model frame working fine*/
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('javascript:void(window.open("'|| URL || '","","location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,status=no,"));self.close()','_self');
    I want to add show report output with right mouse click disable. Pleae guide how can i do it?

    Let me start by saying that disabling the right mouse will do nothing but frustrate users. It doesn't protect the page content from anything. There are various other ways to get the content from the page copied locally. And more importantly, this does not_ offer any kind of security.
    Ok, so you have decided to do it anyway ;)
    In order to make this happen, you would need to modify the report. I will assume that when you said "report" you meant Oracle Reports. Open the report file (.rdf) and edit the report's "Before Report Value".
    The default value is:
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type"  content="text/html; charset=&Encoding">
    </head>
    <body dir=&Direction bgcolor="#ffffff">Change it to this:
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type"  content="text/html; charset=&Encoding">
    </head>
    <script language="javascript">
    document.onmousedown=disableclick;
    status="Right Click Disabled";
    Function disableclick(e)
      if(event.button==2)
         alert(status);
         return false;
    </script>
    <body oncontextmenu="return false" dir=&Direction bgcolor="#ffffff">Save the changes and retest.

  • Why are mysterious dk.html files automatically downloading upon launch of newly updated Safari Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2)?

    Why are mysterious dk.html files automatically downloading upon launch of newly updated Safari Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2)?  I updated last night and ever since, these files download as soon as I launch Safari.

    I've gotten these from multiple web sites, including Drudge and National Journal.
    It is my opinion that this behavior is a side effect of the latest Java update. Until this latest update, Apple has maintained its own version of Java. The latest update is Oracle Java.
    Apple's note on the Java for Mac OS X 10.6 update 11 includes this:
    On systems that have not already installed Java for Mac OS X 10.6 update 9 or later, this update will configure web browsers to not automatically run Java applets. Java applets may be re-enabled by clicking the region labeled "Inactive plug-in" on a web page. If no applets have been run for an extended period of time, the Java web plug-in will deactivate.
    Looking at the innards of one file downloaded, it appears to be a JavaScript beacon from advertising.com for rubiconproject.com. These files are used to track web browsing activity. I suspect that this Java changed the way the beacon is served and Safari.

    Everytime I open Safari it downloads a series of blank.aspx files into my downloads folder. Anyone having the same problem?

    Has there been a fix for this yet?  I am downloading close to 150 blank aspx files every 15 minutes.  I have tried the fix from Carolyn Samit and the AdBlock seems to be working thus far, but when it is not working it launches Adobe Dreamweaver.  Which is going berzerker.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

  • .pdf and .doc Attachments are downloading as .html files

    Dear Forum,
    I have received both .doc and .pdf attachments in my email (charter.net).
    I click to download, the files then appear on the desktop as Safari files with a example.doc.html file name or example.pdf.html
    Of course neither Word or Acrobat Reader can open them without them appearing as scrolling incoherient text...
    Why does this happen? I assume the files should download as their true file type such as example.doc or example.pdf
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi WinchesterBunnyMama, what exactly is your problem. Is it this issue:
    Some users are finding that an update changed the description of "Adobe Acrobat Document" to "Firefox HTML Document". The installer was supposed to add Firefox as an ADDITIONAL viewer for PDFs, not as the DEFAULT viewer. Sorry if you were affected by this glitch and hopefully they will figure out why some systems get changed this way.
    You can try this fix suggested by a user in another thread:
    # Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat*
    # Edit->Preferences
    # In the Categories column click 'General'
    # Near the bottom of the page click the button marked 'Select Default PDF Handler'
    # In the dialog, select 'Adobe Reader XI' (or Adobe Acrobat, as the case may be) and click 'Apply'
    # A Windows Configuration screen will appear. Allow it to do its stuff (takes a few minutes), then restart your computer when prompted.
    Does that work for you?

  • Why does Dreamweaver upload a blank page when i "put" a .php or .html file that I just edited. It's

    Why does Dreamweaver upload a blank page when i "put" a .php or .html file that I just edited. It's like Dreamweaver isn't putting the complete file. So when i check my work (refresh the page), it is now blank. This happens about 50 percent of the time and can occur with any of the websites I maintain. (If I pull out my macbookpro, i can edit and upload the page, but the screen is smaller and i would rather be at my desktop). I am using CS5 on a MacPro, operating system 10.7.5.

    I've never heard of that type of error before. If it were happening to me, here are a few things I would do...
    Verify it's DW
         Download Filezilla (free and very nice in reality) and make sure it uploads correctly from there to rule out connection issues
    Rebuild Site Cache
         From the Files window of your site, click the menu and go to Site > Recreate Site Cache
    Delete DW File Cache
         If the above does nothing, I'd kill my DW Cache File: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
    Uninstall, clean, reinstall
         Uninstall the program, use the cleaner tool here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html to kill everything (Adobe leaves behind things that are picked up again in a normal uninstall/reinstall) then reinstall it.

  • PDF files downloading as html files

    I am trying to save pdf files from a database but firefox keeps on saving them as html files instead, even when saving it shows it saving as *.pdf. I have only just fixed the problem of not being able to open the pdf files and now using adobe reader add on but now can't save the files I have opened. I need to be able to access these documents when not online. Instead of studying for the last 3 hours I have been trying to solve issues since downloading the lastest version of firefox. This was never an issue with the older version.
