Safari fixed with iTunes update?

Anybody notice the Safari problems improved or fixed with the recent iTunes 5.1 update? I have been surfing for an hour to sites that would cause a system freeze/crash. Since the iTunes update, Safari has not caused a freeze. Safari seems to load faster as well.

My point, JPolk, was that one should not assume anything when doing problem definition. The
similar issue
observation presumes that one is seeing the universe of Apple users on these forums - a fatally flawed conclusion. To extrapolate from posts here is roughly akin to going to a hospital and assuming everyone is sick in the world.
When and wherever a problem manifests itself is not an absolute pointer to a problem. It is most easy to 'blame' someone or something else, rather than tracking down what
b MAY
be a localized problem.

  • Fix for iTunes update 11.1.4 issues

When will there be a fix from Apple for the installing issues with iTunes update 11.1.4?

    Hello Weathertop44,
Did you remove iTunes and other Apple components in above given order if no then try doing that. After they are removed from your computer restart your computer once before reinstalling iTunes back on your computer. After you restart your computer locate the iTunes.exe setup file on your computer and right click the file using mouse right key and select the second option which says Run as Administrator (Windows Vista/7/8) or you will see just run as and once you select that you will see the account names and administrator written next to it (Windows xp) if you are already logged in with administrator account then select current account and click ok and start the iTunes installation and if you are not logged in as administrator then enter admin user name and password and click ok to start installation and let that complete. And still if you get an error then please do let us know what is the error code and what all step did you followed.
Note: If you are unable to remove Apple Mobile Device Support then you can skip that, if you see bonjour is in use by some other application then you can click on ignore and continue removing that and if you see that Apple Application Support is in use by Apple Mobile Device Support then choose the first option that you will get and click ok to remove Apple Application support.

Having trouble with itunes update.  Error with itunes64.msi. Windows 8.1 64 bit.  I tried uninstalling, but I am stuck now trying to reinstall.
It says itcan't find the itunes64.msi destination folder.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • TS3694 Mac unable to connect with ITunes Update Server - why?

Whenever I try to check for updates on iTunes on my Mac, I get this message: iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “ax.itunes.apple.com”.
Followed by this: The iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your Internet connection, or try again later.
There is no problem with the internet connection, and all other things seem to load properly.
It means I am unable to update my iphone either, and am stuck on IOS 4.3.1.
Any suggestions on how to solve this please?

    Hey hkw7,
Try out the following steps. Usually step 1 will resolve the issue:
Update iTunes to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. To configure your firewall, please refer to the "Blocked by firewall" section in this article.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Click here to find out how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you are receiving a specific error message you may want to see, the "Specific Conditions and Alert Messages" section in this article as needed.
If the issue still persists, contact your internet service provider and confirm that the ports and servers in this article are enabled over your network.

  • How do I fix an itunes update error

I keep getting an error message pop up during an itunes update, it is telling me that if the problem persists to download and install manually but I don't know how to do it. It has happened many times recently and I just don't know where to begin to fix it. Do I continue to try and ignore it hoping that itunes will somehow be fixed on the next update or can someone give me a step by step solution ?

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

  • Apps crashing, but fix with iTunes...

Okay, I am not sure what is going on, but here it is exactly...
I download an app through the Appstore on the iPhone itself... after loading and then installing, it shows up fine on the screen, so I launch the App, it shows the splash screen for a split second then goes back to the home screen.
Will do it for every app, but when I connect it to the computer. I open iTunes, hit Store-Deauthorize Computer, then I sync it, go back up to Store-Authorize Computer, then I sync again with iTunes, the apps show up(sometimes in iTunes, I sometimes I have "Transfer Purchases," then I go back to the phone, launch the apps that were crashing, and they work perfectly.
This isn't horrible, but it is when you download an app, and have to do this with iTunes every single time.
Anyone know what I can do?
I have tried resetting the settings in the Settings Menu on the iPhone, I have rebooted, resynced, everything. The apps from the App Store will only work upon deauthorizing and reauthorizing.
    Thanks!

Just check to see in iTunes, if when the phone is connected that in the applications menu , sync applications and sync all are selected. These can often reset themselves after an update and restore.

  • Problem with itunes update.  I am running OSX v 10.4.11 and can't get itunes to update.  I had itunes 9.1.1 and when I tried ask it to update it said there was no update. sent old itunes to trash and now apple site itunes download is not working.  help...

From Apple website when I go to itunes update to 10.3 I am not seeing the left column to download itunes 10.3.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I tried yesterday as well.  Today, I threw my itunes 9.1.1 in the trash and emptied it... and then rebooted.  What am I doing wrong?

What operating system are you running?  I doubt it's an iPhone OS on a Mac Mini, but if you meant to choose 10.4 then you're out of luck.  http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/  At the bottom of the left hand column on this page, you'll see it requires OS X 10.5 or higher.

  • New IPod Touch will not sync with Itunes-updated to iOS 7.1.1 for new IPod

Just purchased new IPod Touch (purchased 6-3-14 - had a Classic until it fried). After setting it up, I tried to sync to ITunes and it says it syncs but does nothing. No music transferred to IPod. I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 if that means anything. This is very frustrating as I am not a computer whiz and really want to use my IPod in my really long commutes to work. Thanks for any insight...

    Hi abbeyesque,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your iPod touch is recognized and syncing, but it isn't transferring the content that you expect to be transferred. Take a look at the article linked below, it will show you how to select the iPhone in iTunes and where the tabs are (second picture) that control what is synced to the iPod.
iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386
    Sync using USB
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, you may need to hide the sidebar. Choose View > Hide Sidebar.
Some tabs may not appear if you don't have the corresponding content in your library. For example, if you don't have any podcasts in your library, the Podcast tab won't appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.

  • HT1349 help with iTunes update

iTunes failing to install its latest update, because C++ runtime thing isn't working with it.  I can't get any help from Apple online - just getting a runaround.  Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?  I'm running Windows XP.

    Again.  Yes.
"Updating itunes should have no effect on your library."
"HOWEVER,  it has always been very basic to ALWAYS maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.  If you fail to do this, then you will very like lose some or all of your files/msuic/pics/docs/etc at some point."

  • Nano no longer works with iTunes, Updater

I got my nano, hooked it up, put music on it, everything worked fine. I was showing my wife how the photo bit worked and the screen went all black pixels and froze. I did a reset and now I am stuck with what I have on the thing. Windows sees the iPod, but neither iTunes or the updater can communicate with it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have tried on other computers as well, no luck. Come on man! Now I get to send it back and wait for another one, you would think for $250 these things would work a little better. Anybody else have this problem?

    Welcome to the forums!
Is there an Apple store near you? If so I would go there and meet with their Geniuses <sp>. They can help you sort it out. If they find that the iPod is truly broken they may just offer a replcement on the spot.
The only suggestion I can offer is to switch the hold switch off and on a few times and do the reset again. Sometimes that will work when just a simple reset will not. Reset is the menu and center button at the same time.
I know how it feels to be unlucky with a new gadget. Have to keep in mind that they have made millions of these and a few will have problems.

  • Error with itunes updating my ipod

Ok ive never had this issue before, but im trying to update my ipod and its gone horribly wrong.
The other day i charged my ipod on a friends computer and it synced up with it which was rather annoying. So ive tried to sync it back with mine and all was going well until it came up with the following error message.
'Attempting to copy to the disk 'xxx' failed. An unknown error occured (-69).'
Does that message bear any significance? What can i do to fix the problem?
    please help if you can!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Error Message with iTunes update

Since updating to the latest version of iTunes, I'm getting an error message that doesn't make sense.
    This is the message:
"Some of the iTunes Store files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because
the iPod may only contain content from five iTunes Store accounts."
    1. I don't sync any music, I put it on manually
    2. I only have 4 iTunes Store accounts, not 5.
    3. It only happens when syncing podcasts. But when I check all podcasts are synced properly.
    Has anyone else seen this?

It is also happening with newer content from the iTunes Store. Any thoughts out there?

  • Help with iTunes update and accidentally syncing phone to another iTunes account

I'm really hoping someone can help me.
Earlier tonight I updated iTunes on my laptop. I synced my phone and backed it up only to find an hour later when I was going through my messages that all of my contacts were gone. I read up online and apparently this was a common problem with the new update. I've tried the suggestion of going into settings>icloud and turning my contacts on but my numbers are still gone. When I plugged my phone into my computer again to restore the backup, It automatically started to sync again. I clicked cancel straight away but the previous backup changed from earlier on in the evening to the current time. So now I've no backup from earlier, Just from after I realised my contacts were gone.
I also noticed when I was clicking around that my partners email was signed into the itunes account, not my email. I signed him out and signed myself back in but nothing has returned.
Does anybody have a solution for this? I know I can't use a previous backup because it updated the backup to after I noticed the contacts were gone. I also tried restoring my computer to an earlier time from before I backed up iTunes but there's no recent backups of my computer. I also tried signing into iCloud but theres no contacts there either.
I have a feeling all of this was caused because my partners email was signed into iTunes when my phone backed up but I'm curious as to why it would just delete my contacts and nothing else?

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
