Salary Stament from ESS

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any possibility to change the size of the font of the statement, because when i print it from SAP GUI it prints with a smaller font and fits perfect in the page, but when it comes to the portal the font gets bigger and the lines wrap, any idea how to solve this problem?

Hi,
Have you created pe51 form in backend system. If yes.
Choose Personnel Management ->Employee Self-Service -> Service-Specific Settings ->Benefits and Payment -> Salary Statement->Form Using HR Forms Editor (PE51).
You make the necessary settings for the salary statement of a particular country in the Implementation Guide for the relevant country version.

          When i am trying to get the salary statement from R/3 to portal this error is getting displayed.
               Where as from the R/3 side we have a customaised HRFORM called ZOBT, it is generating report in R/3 where as it is not refelecting in PORTAL, its displaying error message as:

Go to the transaction : PC00_M40_CLSTR
here 40 stands for India. Assign the Molga number as per the country code of your payroll.
Check if the pay roll has been run till the current period or not.

How to exclude salary arrears from pension deduction?

I have setup a pension retro element and its calculating the retro amount correctly.
However, its using sum of salary arrears (say,arrears for the month of March and April) and adding that to May salary and deducting pension on the total sum.
(we do not want this, we want only May salary to be considered for pension retro element)
Does anyone know how to exclude salary arrears from pension deduction element? Is there any obvious step, which I am missing in while defining the element?

While doing retro for arrears, it will give at a time in one payroll only, no standard for installment payments.
2nd option:
Calculate the Total Arrears amount and divide it by four installments and through IT 0014 with New wage type and give for 4 months as start and end date.
* you have to create a new wage type which is taxable and assigned to IT 0014.
* add this new wt in Remuneration form in Earnings side.

Error while opening in-box from ESS

We have a user in SAP, and he has 1200 unread doc in his In-box. If this user tried to open his in-box from ESS, he will get an error

Error - While changing existing leave request from ESS

We are trying to use the standard leave request application in ESS/MSS. The basic required standard configurations are done. Since we wanted custom notifications, the related workflow is copied into custom workflow and we have included required custom notifications. The custom workflow is also configured properly.
Now, the standard functionalities like making leave request, triggering notifications, approving leave request and posting information into backend are working fine from the ESS/MSS.
When the employee tries to change the existing leave request (before approval) from ESS, at the 2nd step (Review and Send), it is displaying one error message General task: can be edited by all users. But, it still allows submitting the records.
Once it is submitted, the system throws one java error at the final step (after pressing SEND button) u2013 Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator. - java.lang.NullPointerException. The complete error information is provided in the attached word document. Even though, it throws error the submitted data is getting saved into the backend.
Please help to solve this issue.

What custom notifications you require in leave request? We have all available in standard using Rptarqemail
First of all, the WF task should be set as
General task: can be edited by all users, which you have done presumably under task classification
Now, for checking purposes, can you check with standard WF in table v_t554s_web for one absence only?
ie WS12300111.
Please test this and let us know if you have errors
Also please check your custom WF whether it is working correctly or not?

Our basis team just now implemented the track for ESS and MSS.So we need to sync all application from DTR.
We are facing problem with one Dc essOrg.I have created project essOrg from ESS track in inactive DC of development configuration.Build of DC is successful,where as in the Task tab its showing below error message:
" Tree TreeCont [dataSource]: Context element and property are not compatible Orgchart.wdview NWI_HR1_Dessorg~sap.com/src/packages/com/sap/xss/hr/org/chart "
I have done the follwing steps :
1.I have close the project.Then remove it from client.Then close the NWDs and reopen it.Still the same error we are getting after creatig project from the track.
2.Even we tried to repair the DC.Its asking for check out.Then after creating activity its showing an error pop up message "org.eclipse.jdt.core.JavaModelException: Classpath contains duplicate entry: D:Documents and settings/susmita.panigrahi/.dtc/2/DCs/sap.com/pcui_gp/xssfpm/_comp/gen/default/public/FloorplanManager/lib/java/sap.compcui_gpxssfpm~FloorplanManager.jar "
3.I have open the OrgChart view of VcOrgChart Component in NWDs.I have found that the data source property of Tree node is showing red cross mark with name OrgTab(name of context node).I have tried to select another node also other than the context node OrgTab , getting message "Select an attribute of Type"
Can any body tell me how to solve the error"Context element and property are not compatible " coming for DC ess~Org?

If you have created other projects and they are working fine? Standard application should work without any modifications, so you may like to revert all the changes(before they cause further problem).
Well you may like to clean up your directory , unless you have loads of application checked out.. Remove all applications from this particular Track, ensure that everytime you delete project from Studio , select to remove code from directory.
This is likely that you are working on applications from two tracks, where version of FPM component is not the same. I always prefer to work one at a time, and i remove other track if i am done with application(This is lame way of handling it, but i prefer this.. saves loads of time to clean/repair)
Also hope you are using compatible version of Studio.

Hi,
after creating the project, dont build it, close the project and close you NWDS then open the NWDS ,open the project and build, it will work ithink,
i faced the same problem, try this may be it weill work.
dont remove from client, only close the project.,

Can we open an external window From ESS DC?

Can we open an external window on the click of a button in an <b>ESS dc</b>?
I am trying to call another web dynpro application as an external window from ESS DC.
I am doing something like this in the action handler method:
IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager()
.createExternalWindow("http://hostname:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/FirstAction/TestApp?SAPtestId=2", "Test", false);
window.open();
It doesnt work. Am I doing something wrong?

How to allow half a day processing of leave request?
even if i enter 4 hours in the duration field
the system takes 8 hours
but when i do the same from PA30 it is ok.

Please check table V_T554S_WEB to make sure the absence type used from ESS is same as absence type you tested from PA30.

Hi,
Till EHP4 SAP has not provided the functionality but recently I learnt from one of the SAP instructor that bring W2 on ESS is on their road map. It could be out-of the box delivery very soon - may be in 2010 or 2011. These timelines are not gaurenteed, so if it is a priority then check one of the HR Expert or ASUG Conference materials. I believe one of the clients has implemented on their own.
Please search the SDN forum,I have responded to another fellow member on the same topic with few steps.
Let me know your feedback.

To import Process Integration from ESR to ID. Keep Integration Directory in Folder View or Configuration Scenario View, Just right click and you will be able to see the option New Integration Process by clicking on that the wizard to import integration process from ESR to ID will open.

You can change the activity reference period in the Plan Form - > Not In Program tab from annually to monthly. However, it will impact all the calcuations as it will use monthly values for everything. Please be careful of this. I would suggest testing this (along with posting back the increases to ensure they are annual amounts) before proceeding with this.

Editing room number from ESS application

Hi,
I have a need to allow user to change working room for himself from ESS interface.
like through personal data app, an user can edit his title, DOB etc but not sure about room number.
Can anybody confirm whether this is possible with standard ESS business package or not?

the mentioned table is the customizing table for the "Own Data"-Web application. If you enter the infotypes there, the Web-application will show those fields and the user can maintain the fields.
no need to develop or even modify sap standard...
