Samsung Intensity 1 Stores Messages and Delivers Them to My Phone 10-60 Minutes Later? Help Please..

I'm Kassie. I live in the Durham, NC area and apparently I have good coverage and reception here. Though, in my home, I text people. I'm a 16 year old, so naturally texting is my life. We've been with Verizon ever since Alltel was bought out by them. Now, my phone has been pretty decent up until 2011. In March, it started doing what my title says. This past weekend, it completely stopped sending me messages, but I got that repaired. There was a problem in the system. Anyway, while that is fixed, I'm still getting delayed messages and I'm unsure why. An example is when I was texting someone I know. The text messages looks something like this:
" From: [Insert Friend's Name Here]
I Just Saw [Insert Person's Name]
Stored:
Sun Aug 28, 7:03
Received:
Sun Aug 28, 7:21 "
I bolded and italicized the problem at hand with the text messages. I'll receive them at a certain time, but they'll be stored and I can't access them, because my phone doesn't show that I have a text message. I've done *228 options 1 and 2, but it doesn't do much. I have realized that if I make a phone call, it will send the messages that have been stored to my phone, but that gets tedious after a while. In addition to that, I never know if I have a text, so I'm left to call my voicemail repeatedly and may or may not receive a stored text message.
I'm not entirely sure what the problem is at this point. Perhaps it's my home? This only seems to happen in my house, but it doesn't happen to anyone else's phones (my family and I have the same phone). However, they do not text as much as I do. Though, I've noticed that the reception signals on their phones are constantly 1 bar higher than mine more often than not. I'm just tired of this happening, because I thought when Verizon eradicated the problem with my texts not coming in at all, this issue would have been resolved, but as you can see, it hasn't.
Could someone please help me?
Thank you so much,
Kassie N.

You said you text a lot - if your inbox and sent message folder is FULL, it could also cause delays. Try deleting messages, then restart the phone. It should work until the folders are full; then delete and restart, or just delete your messages every day.
