SAP Application Interface Framework

Hi,
In my project we are planning to use SAP Application Interface Framework  for implementing some interfaces. Can anyone give me idea about the installation requirements/installation guide for SAP Application Interface Framework addon in Netweaver ?
Thanks
Sathish

Hi Sathish,
I was looking for the same information last night, and found it here: http://help.sap.com/aif
You could also have a look at Note 1525412 or other notes in application area CA-GTF-AIF.
Good luck,
Sascha

    Hi all,
    I am working on SAP PI 7.3.1 SP09. Currently we have interfaces which uses 50200 port. I have created a http destination from nwa pointing to https://....url. So all of a sudden all the interfaces went to error state. After debugging i found that the port 50200 is replaced with 50201which is https port. After changing the port to initial value ie., 50200 all interfaces are working fine except the one which were pointing to https url and they are showing the following error description.

    HI,
    Thank you for your hint. Maybe I just forgot to mention one important fact. We have second SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 which is completely our system. The first one I mentioned in first message is the customer's one. The one we have extra is also connected to MAXIMO and GIS. Settings of this interface is completely same among one thing:
    Patch level of XIAF:
    1. customers SAP PI level is
    Adapter Common Library Version: 1.7.1007.20081105173106.0000, NW07_07_REL (2008-11-07T17:29:47+0000)
    Adapter Application Version: 1.7.1007.20081105173106.0000, NW07_07_REL (2008-11-07T17:30:00+0000)
    2. our SAP PI level is
    Adapter Common Library Version: 1.7.1008.20100215155230.0000, NW07_08_REL (2010-02-15T17:19:21+0000)
    Adapter Application Version: 1.7.1008.20100215155230.0000, NW07_08_REL (2010-02-15T17:19:31+0000)
    Both of them has Axis Version: Apache Axis version: 1.4 Built on Apr 22, 2006 (06:55:48 PDT)
    Also important to mention is fact that same problem happened in our SAP PI, but we implemented last patch of XIAF and it has suddenly started to work. I have suspicion it is somehow connected to this patch. Btw. this patch contains a lot of notes regarding  AXIS framework (i.e. 1435998, 1150375, 1048268), so obviously some bugs of the AXIS adapter has been resolved by this patch.
    What do you think ?
    Thanks

  • New version of sapyto - SAP Penetration Testing Framework

    Hello list,
    I'm glad to let you know that a new version of sapyto, the SAP Penetration Testing Framework, is available.
    You can download it by accessing the following link: http://www.cybsec.com/EN/research/sapyto.php
    News in this version:
    This version is mainly a complete re-design of sapyto's core and architecture to support future releases. Some of the new features now available are:
    . Target configuration is now based on "connectors", which represent different ways to communicate with SAP services and components. This makes the
    framework extensible to handle new types of connections to SAP platforms.
    . Plugins are now divided in three categories:
         . Discovery: Try to discover new targets from the configured/already-discovered ones.
         . Audit: Perform some kind of vulnerability check over configured targets.
         . Exploit: Are used as proofs of concept for discovered vulnerabilities.
    . Exploit plugins now generate shells and/or sapytoAgent objects.
    . New plugins!: User account bruteforcing, client enumeration, SAProuter assessment, and more...
    . Plugin-developer interface drastically simplified and improved.
    . New command switches to allow the configuration of targets/scripts/output independently.
    . Installation process and general documentation improved.
    . Many (many) bugs fixed. :P
    Enjoy!
    Cheers,
    Mariano

    Hi Mariano,
    Thanks for the update.
    We implemented secinfo restrictions 5 years ago, but used a rather complicated approach. We did some tests today (the "local" setting works okay so far) and will continue tomorrow.
    We now use the HOST and USER-HOST set to "local" and let the application security deal with who-can-do-what and this works quite well; though we have encountered some external 3rd party server programs in some cases. It seems to be popular amongst the business folks and some of the products use the gateway monitor to comunicate with the SAP system to find out when it has completed processing.
    I think this is a design error, but they of course think otherwise
    What was interesting to note, was that we locked ourselves out of an unprotected system. We changed the gw/monitor from 2 to 1 in a test. This worked. But then the gwmon cannot be used to change it back to 2! To we tried RZ11, and experienced the same. So we changed it to 0 in a test, and then 1 was blocked as well. This appears to be implemented in the kernel, as even hobbling the application coding does not help. The parameter is only dynamic when decreasing the value and increasing the security.
    We had to restart the whole system for the instance profile to take effect again. Rather noisy and a few developers could take an additional 10 minute coffee break as a result
    We are testing this on 3 different releases with different config:
    - 4.6C (46D)
    - 6.40
    - 7.00
    The different config relates to:
    - gw/sec_info
    - gw/monitor
    - auth/rfc_authority_check
    Our intention behind this is to improve baseline security and harden some special systems further.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Interface Framework

    Hi Experts,
    Can I ask not so technical question here for the ABAP Guru?
    May I know what came up to your mind when someone mentioned Interface Framework?
    Our organization is using quite a lot of non sap system to support operation due to multiple business area that we have.
    Hence, monitoring and logging of the interface result is challenging if we do it manually.
    If I want to consolidate the way to monitor and log interfaces but not the way interface being done (IDOC, flat file, Web Services), is this what being called as part of Interface Framework? FYI, we are not using SAP PI/XI.
    Thank you.

    There are a few articles out there that compare AWT / SWT (JFace?) / Swing. But I haven't come across anything very current. Most seem to have been written in 2006.AWT (components) are largely the same as they were in 2006. Swing has had some minor improvements, but I do not think any new components have been created since then. I cannot speak for SWT.
    But basically, what I am getting at is that all 3 APIs were relatively 'mature' as of 2006, so there is unlikely to be anything new and profound introduced since 2006, to make any real difference.
    The only other framework I have come across so far is Qt Jambi.You're one up on me.
    I was almost going to throw GWT into my list, but felt that was just being obtuse. ;)
    Another aspect of this choice of course is the skill set of the development staff. None of which are too versed in any Java UI Framework. It may be that the application will get ported to a .NET framework (C#) instead as there are other aspects driving a redesign of the code anyway.Limiting your product to just Windows (raised eye-brow). As I understand it, .NET still has no portable GUI framework to speak of (no - 'mono' is/was not worth mentioning - any updates?).
    If you intend to market to Windows only, and already have a crew with .NET skills, that might make the most sense.

  • Integrated Configurations com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception

    Hi guys,
    we are using PI 7.11.
    With this release local processing on the advanced adapter engine is possible, when using integrated configurations.
    This works fine.
    Lately I faced an error situation in an RFC to JDBC scenario, when one field doesn´t meet the conditions of the database.
    I tried to dig deeper to identify the incorrect value by switch on the trace in the receiver JDBC channel, as I did several times before.
    Afterwards I treied to restart the message.
    Following error occurs.
    com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.ConfigException: Unable to retrieve interface determination with object ID ab1bf720bf2711dea7d2020000000030 from CPA cache.
    I made some test with integrated configurations (FTP to FTP) and come to the result that errors, which require changes on the communication channel e.g. wrong password etc. result in an new object in the CPA cache
    trying restart the failed message ends up in the error specified aboce.
    Anyone faced the same issue already?
    Kind regards
    Jochen

    HI Jochen,
    I feel that you should once go for a CPA Cache refresh from Adapter Engine and try executing your failed messages once again in the adapter engine.
    To do a CPA Cache Refresh from the Adapter Engine:
    To trigger a cache refresh from the individual Adapter Framework, open a browser window and enter the following URL:
    http://<host>:<port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=delta|full
    The Monitoring url is like this:
    http://<host>:<port>/CPACache
    Check this How-to Guide on Cache, it will be useful:

    Hi Suman,
    Which PI version you are using? Is it double stack?
    We also faced a similar problem few days back.
    We have tried a below approach and succeeded.
    Can you please check with T-code SXMB_MONI if there are any queues are stopped (Red circle symbol written STOP on it).
    Go to t-code SMQ1/SMQ2 and click on the line items, it will open another session which will display the details of message status (Green flag-scheduled).
    Click on the Resend button on the tool bar, it will show a pop-up there click on Retain button.
    This will help you to restart a stucked EOIO/EO messages.
    P.S: You have to determine that how many such kind of queues are stopped and so you have to manually restart those scheduled messages.
    Also refer to this thread Queue stopped in sxmb_moni
    Try this if it helps.
    Regards,
    Dipen.

  • Include multiple SAP applications for implementation in CE ESR

    Hi guys,
    I would like to know whether it is possible to implement different services in the ESR of a CE environment in different SAP applications.
    For example operation 1 of outbound interface of process component 1 is implemented in the SRM system. The operation 2 of outbound interface of process component 2 is implemented in the CRM system.
    Guss it flys, but just want to be sure.
    If this works then use of PI is only necessary for A2A processes with mediation and B2B processes (adapter engine necessary), correct?
    Thanks a lot,
    Mane

    Hi,
    Yes, It'spossible.
    Eventhough we design the process components we implemnt the service interface.
    You can generate proxy for the service interface in multiple systems and implement only the required operations.
    Thanks,
    Abdul Raheem S

  • Portal is blank after modifying com.sap.portal.layouts.framework

    Hi Experts,
    Using SAP EP 7.0 SPS 18 and NWDS 7.0.18
    I downloaded the par file com.sap.portal.layouts.framework because I wanted to increase the width of the detailed navigation panel. I imported it into NWDS and in the WAandNavPanel.jsp I modified this line
    <hbj:page title="Portal Page">
         <hbj:gridLayout   id="GridLayout1"  width="100%" cellSpacing="2">
         <hbj:gridLayoutCell rowIndex="1" columnIndex="1" width="20%" verticalAlignment="top">
              <lyt:container id="navPanelContainer" />
         </hbj:gridLayoutCell>
         <hbj:gridLayoutCell rowIndex="1" columnIndex="2" width="80%" verticalAlignment="top">
              <lyt:container id="workAreaContainer" />
         </hbj:gridLayoutCell>
         </hbj:gridLayout>
    </hbj:page>
    To this:
    <hbj:page title="Portal Page">
         <hbj:gridLayout   id="GridLayout1"  width="100%" cellSpacing="2">
         <hbj:gridLayoutCell rowIndex="1" columnIndex="1" width="25%" verticalAlignment="top">
              <lyt:container id="navPanelContainer" />
         </hbj:gridLayoutCell>
         <hbj:gridLayoutCell rowIndex="1" columnIndex="2" width="75%" verticalAlignment="top">
              <lyt:container id="workAreaContainer" />
         </hbj:gridLayoutCell>
         </hbj:gridLayout>
    </hbj:page>
    I then selected 'Quick PAR Upload' from NWDS and selected 'Include the source code of the portal application' and 'Deploy PAR' checkboxes and then deployed.
    Now when I login to the portal, its just a blank screen. What did I do wrong, and how can I fix this please?
    Regards,
    Marshall.

    Hi Marshall,
    Just a couple of notes for you:
    Changing the SAP namespace to your own/client namespace is a good idea, though you'll need to copy all referenced Portal objects if possible.  In addition, every support pack or patch will require you to recreate this PAR file using the original SAP source as the underlying code may have changed.
    All that said, the easiest way to check out a change is to make a change directly to the PAR file and upload.  I do this when working with a local Portal install (not the development one).
    Another point, make sure when you upload it via System Admin/Support/Runtime Tools/Administration Console (or something like that); that you get a valid version number when you upload.  If you don't, that indicates something is wrong with the PAR file.
    Maybe a test for you would be to take the existing PAR file, and upload it again without modification to see if there's a problem; then do it again, but this time just adding some space or something to the file (no code changes).  Keep baby stepping till you work out what code is making the screen go blank for you.
    Regards,
    Matt
    ps. I hope you've solved this by now...Otherwise ask your friendly SAP expert (who may be handy) how to do it.  Alternatively, publish exactly the change you're making and we can review it.

  • SAP application penetration testing.

    Dear All,
    Does anyone have information on penetration testing of SAP application? I am looking for the following:
    ·         Tools
    ·         Methodology including any reference material
    phenoelit has some resources/vulns for SAP.
    http://www.phenoelit.de/whatSAP/index.html
    and also:

    Thanks in advance,
    Elad Shapira, CISSP

    Elad,
    SAP Security Testing is at the complex end of Application Testing. It's easy to test individual components (e.g. EP or ITS apps can be tested to some extent by more or less any outfit with Web App experience). We've been 'doing' SAP Security Testing for most modules, WAS, EP and ITS for a while now and it's a very strange beast indeed.
    The bad news: There aren't any tools (beyond ABAP Workbench and Access/TOAD).
    Generally in an SAP test you're looking for the following:
    Assurance that underlying infrastructure and databases are secure (So, classic Vulnerability Assessment and Database testing)
    Assurance that the SAP instances themselves are sufficiently secured (Authorizations, audit focused points, source code review for Z* and Y* transactions, Interfaces, User Exits etc.)
    Assurance that the documentation and procedures are up to scratch (normally a fairly swift policy review, usually highlights the areas that are different).
    Please feel free to send me a message offline if there's any specifics you'd like to discuss.

  • Siebel Application Interface

    Hi,
    I need a Siebel Application Interface in a poc (but without installing the actual Rapid Mart) as a starter/teaser for a Siebel Rapid Mart later on. The problem is that I am not able to find neither the Siebel Rapid Mart or the Application Interface at the SAP portal - BusinessObjects packages and products - Bobj Rapid Marts. Suprising that the Siebel Rapid Mart is not there, but what about the Application Interface ? Is it only included together with the Mart, or do I need a special key to activate it in Bodi or is it the one named 'BOBJ XI 3.1 INTEGRATION FOR SIEBEL SOFTWARE WINDOWS' although that sounds like a BOE specific software.

    Vinay,
    Unforunately SaveSession only saves the attributes and their values. The text of an attribute cannot be saved.
    If you really need the attribute text, you would probably have to use some custom code to do the following:
    1. Create a text attribute (a2) that will hold the text of the attribute you want the text for (a1):
    2. Create a event handler that sets the value of the text attribute (a2) to the text of the attribute (a1).
    3. When save is called the text attribute (a2) will be saved to the session.
    Its no a very elegant solution, but its the only way I can think of to do it.
    Cheers

  • SAP Application forms

    Hi, Experts,
                       This is Kiran. I am working on SAP Application Forms in IS-U module. In this form has ‘one page’. But while running the form it goes to shot dump. The message is “ Out put is continues or contains too many pages (>2). Why did it happen? Actually
    My application form has one page.
                    The Error message is “ The Termination occurred in ABAP Program “SAPLEFGP” IN EFG-PRINT “  the main program was “ EFG-TEST-PRINT”.
                    The termination occurred in line 590 of the source code of the include program “LEFGPU01”
    MAC_MAG_SY-OUT ‘X’  here system idicates the error. Please help me for this solutions what I have to do .

    Hello, thanks for your answer.
    I can't use the first option from you, because of the necessity to use SAP Logon Tickets.
    If i understand everthing right, it is possible to implemant the SAP-Logon-Ticket-Libary in the integrated application. By Oracle Forms is this not possible, because it is a framework application. The authentification to the Oracle Forms application is transferred over the Oracle Application Server. It is also no possiblity to implement the libary in the application server.
    Today i talked to the Oracle Support and they said that one solution is to use the Oracle Access Management as Middle-Software between SAP EP and Oracle Application Server.
    What do you think about this solution? It is really not possbile to integrate Oracle forms in SAP EP with SAP-Logon-Ticket without an extra software?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Cisco ACE Issue accessing SAP applications through ACE appliance

    Hi,
    I have website whose VIP resides on my ACE appliance. That site has many links on it which are SAP applications.
    For one link, when i click it first time, user is asked for authentication which is not  actually required and get blank page.
    When I click back (go to main site again) and again click the same link, it opens normally without any authentication prompt.
    Rest all links on the site have no issues and open normally.
    I had same issue with acceptance for same application and below parameter map resolved the issue
    parameter-map type http case_param
      case-insensitive
      persistence-rebalance
      set header-maxparse-length 65535
      set content-maxparse-length 65535
      length-exceed continue
    I tried using same parameter map with persistance rebalance disbaled but still it does not work.
    What could be the issue in this case?

    Hi,
    The SAP has front end server to which ACE is sending traffic dstined to particular VIP. front end server then communicates with backend server for all date related to all applications. When client is using different applications, url in browser remains the same. All applications are working fine except this single application.
    same setup is working fine with cisco CSS and even the accepatnce is working fine for same set of applications.
    I am getting bad tcp checksum messges in capture output.
    10.38.199.196 is client IP....10.36.64.40 is VIP and , 10.36.64.86 is nat ip  and 10.36.32.55 is front end server which is user interface to various applications

  • Difference Between SAP Connectors and SAP Web Services Framework

    Hello,
    I would like to know the main difference between the SAP Connectors protocol (that uses SOAP) and the SAP Web Services Framework starting with NetWeaver.
    Thank you,
    Pedro Carrilho

    Hi Pedro,
    I guess you are talking about Business Connectors and XI.
    If that is the case, the differences are:
    SAP XI belongs to SAP Netweaver Technology, whereas BC is an Integration tool provided by Webmethods.
    SAP XI is based on a model called "Hub & Spoke" and Business Connectors are "point to point". So by using XI, what happens is that you do not redesign Solutions once again.
    With XI you save the entire integration knowledge of a collaborative process centrally in SAP XI: Objects at design time in the Integration Repository and objects at configuration time in the Integration Directory. In this way, SAP Exchange Infrastructure follows the principle of shared collaboration knowledge: You no longer need to search for information about a collaborative process in each of the systems involved, but can call this information centrally instead. This procedure considerably reduces the costs for the development and maintenance of the shared applications.
    Also SAP XI comes with pre-configured solutions bundled along with it, so you can straight-away use the solution instead of redesigning.
    Also i believe SAP XI is integrated as a required solution for some new mySAP solution like SRM, there are some scenarios within SRM requires SAP XI to be used and we cannot use BC's there.
    But incase if you do not have multiple systems connected and communication is between just 2 systems, BC should be sufficient, instead of investing on XI.
    But i guess slowly SAP will be stopping its support for BC, as SAP XI can do everything that BC does and even much more.
    Also go through these threads...
    Re: Business connector
    XI vs Connectors (Like JCo and .NET)
    I hope this is what you were looking for...
