SAP BO Translation Management Tool
Hi,
I am using the SAP BO Translation Management Tool to translate our WEBI reports into French language. Most of the queries are getting translated properly and after the export to the server they are available in French language.
But I am having issues with two of those reports in which even on successfully translating the variables and exporting the same to the server the translation is not available. On opening the WEBI report again in TMT it shows that none of the variables were translated and this problem is only with the variables not with query names or prompts.
Any kind of help would be great.

Arminder Singh

Translation Management Tool FWM 01014
We are currently using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 SP5.
The Translation Management Tool is currently giving us the following error when attempting to import a folder from the System Repository:
org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: Unable to find servers in CMS <[email protected]>:6400 ... All such servers could be down or disabled by the administrator (FWM 01014).
As mentioned in the SAP Knowledge Base Article 1974085 the two listed causes are:
1. There is no available Translation Manager Service in one of the Adaptive Processing Servers
2. Request Port for the CMS is not opened in the users firewall
When viewing the services in the APS on the CMC it does show a Translation Service but there are no configuration options for it. As well, there is currently no firewall set up either on the server or the client machine.
Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks.Hi,
1)Ping the Server machine with IP address and host name from the client machine. Ping the client machine with IP address and host name from the server machine.
2)If you are facing any issue then try making the host file entry on the server machine and client machine as below
<IP Address> <Hostname> <FQDN> (OF Server)
<IP Address> <Hostname> <FQDN> (OF Client)
Both the above entries to be made on the Server and client machine.

Translation Management Tool (BI 4.0) fails to import Crystal Reports
I am trying to use the Translation Management Tool on Crystal Reports in our CMS Repository. When I try to import the reports the Import Status indicates a Fail but does not give an error message. When I click on the failed item the tool displays com.businessobjects.sdk.oca2.translation.internal.TranslationServiceException in red in the bottom of the window.
Can anyone help with why I cannot import these reports?
-Byron Clairoux
Treasury Board SecretariatIt is good to have what I suspected was happening confirmed, and that it is at least noted in the documentation. A less cryptic error message would be helpful - something clearer than the current "com.businessobjects.sdk.oca2.translation.internal.TranslationServiceException" message that is displayed if you try and import a CR 2011/2013 report.
Thanks for the responses

[BO 4.0 Client Tools] Problems with using Translation Manager
I have Installed SAP BO 4.0 with SP 2 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server with a MS SQL Server 2008 R2 as repository Server.
I have patched the Server with the SP4 for BO. I have installed the Client tools with the same Patchlevel (SP 4) on the same Server.
The Java - Installation is the Installation from SAP BO 4.0
Now I try to use the "Translation Management Tool"
Login with a BO - Administrator and Enterprise authentification.
Next Step ist to load an object from the repository.
This ends with an error Message: java.lang.Exception: initInstance failed. -2
And now? I have no idea.
Who can Help?
RalphHello Mister Makmerphy,
it seems, that the higher memory limit solved the problem.
I made it in some steps and now I have a memory limit with 3 Gbyte.
And with a last step I've added the last 4 parameters.
But now I have the Problem:
"This server is considered failed because it has stopped 5 time(s) in 60 minute(s)."
And the actuall status is "failed"
Where can I reset this counter.
Waiting another hour to restart doesn't help
System Reboot doesn't help.
Where can I reset this counter or this timer.

Impliment SAP Authentication for Translation manager BI 4.0
Hello Experts,
We are using SAP Authentication type to logon and to create the reports. The reports are created now.We would need to have these reports translated using Translation Manager (TM) but they have provided a user name on Enterprise login.
But when we try to import the reports it is getting failed and giving an error "InitInitilization Java" exception .
As when the clinet tool TM is opened it is not showing the SAP authentication it has (Enterprise,Windows AD,LDAP,Standalone) and no SAP.
So can you suggest about how to have the SAP login for TM also.We are using BI 4.0 SP 2.7.Reports are created using BEX as back end.
thanks in advance
LekshmiHi Lekshmi,
In your Translation Manager web.xml look for Authentication.default and set sso.sap.primary and set the values as
<context-param>
<param-name>authentication.default</param-name>
<param-value>secSAPR3</param-value>
</context-param>
<context-param>
<param-name>sso.sap.primary</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</context-param>

Tools for SAP development work management?
Hi fellow SAP developers!
As you know, in a big software company the management of development work can be a challenge. Everyone should be able to see quickly who is doing what, who is available for new work, how did some old requests get solved and where is their documentation. We are talking about more than just some simple ticket management system here. It would be a central repository and work management tool for years to come.
I am interested to hear some suggestions for good tools that can be used for development work management in SAP world.
- It should be a tool where development requests can be input, reviewed, approved, documented and stored.
- It should support storing attachments
- It should support a project structure, under which the development items are created.
- It should be searchable and have different views to the development requests (for example by project, request raiser, developer, status etc.)
- It should have some kind of approval system or workflow.
- It should also support email notifications when the status or person assignment changes.
- It should run on large corporate network (accessible in intranet, perhaps via browser).
- A nice bonus would be a mobile client access for urgent cases
I'm keen to hear any proposals, even if not all the points in the wishlist are fullfilled
I'm interested to hear any comments on your exeperiences on various work management tools. What worked and what not?Well, a SAP based product would be efficient as it is integrated and there would be no need for additional licenses etc.
I have to investigate the Solution manager offerings more, if that indeed could handle this task. Have you got any further information or experience?
Rally sounds interesting as well! Are there any other tools like that, proven good in SAP development?
For simply using Abap workbench, I'm afraid that is not good enough for what I'm after. How would you manage for example work queues, project based issue views and extensive solution documentation with it? And everything would have to be searchable and visible for also for non-technical managers who do not log in to SAP. -
Project management tool in SAP itself like Microsoft Project planner
Hi Experts,
I need to have information on the project management tool available within SAP.
Is there any project management tool like microsoft project planner available within SAP.
I heard that SAP solution manager does it. Please let me know whether it is right or not?. If correct could you please provide the relevent document or let me know how could I do that in the SAP BI 7.0 or in the solution manager.
Your help would vve appreciated.
ThanksHi,
Yes..Solution Manager is a tool in SAP whichcan be used for Project Management.

Advantage and disadvantages of SAP IDM & Microsoft Identity management Tool
Hi Folks,
I am looking some points on SAP IDM and Microsoft tool for Identity Management. I am looking below mention points.
1. Difference in the feature and prize.
2. Limitation
3. Solution architecture for both
Relevant answers will be rewarded.
Regards,
Akshay ShailHi,
I can add some points about SAP NW IdM. Regarding your question about the prize: If you only connect SAP systems (it can handle all types of SAP ABAP and SAP Java Systems) they don't charge you extra, because it's already in the NetWeaver license. Furthermore, if you use the SAP Central User Administration: It isn't further developed and will be replaced by SAP NW IdM.
The systems you mentioned can be connected, I think these are basics for everey IdM solution. HR interation is possible with SAP IdM, don't know about the other solution in this point.
There are some whitepapers and presentations about SAP NW IdM: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-identitymanagement?rid=/webcontent/uuid/f0b68fb1-d8af-2a10-2a8e-cc431c15bb39&anchor=section2.
Nevertheless, your question about limitations and solution architecture probably needs a PoC if you want to answer them in deep.

SAP RELEASE MANAGEMENT TOOLS -- SOLMAN,REMEDY,DEVTRAC, ETC
Hi Gurus,
I am new to SAP BASIS, and currently working on SAP RELEASE MANAGEMENT TOOLS.
Could you pls. share any documentation on below mentioned tools,
VIZ.
1.REMEDY
2.SOLOMAN
3.DEVTRAC
4. ANY OTHER TOOL
And also any other tools documentation related to SAP RELEASE MANAGEMENT TOOLS.
Regards
Sai Harinithe Java process is having a communication issue with the ABAP stack. First 3 things I would look at:
1. is the ABAP stack up and running? The Java stack is checking for a user installed in the ABAP stack.
2. is sapgw00 service defined in the services file? should have been done by the installation, but I've seen this fail.
3. is host ISLLSOLM listening on the port defined as sapgw00? If this is not true, any number of things could be wrong. -
BPC Mass User Management Tool error in BPC 10
Hello,
I've downloaded tranport files from How to use BPC Mass User Management Tool in Netweaver. But Transport import fails with RC12 without any shortdump. ABAP program ZUJE_MASS_USER_MGMT is not created.
Version used - BPC 10 CPMBPC 801 on Netweaver 7.4 .
Thanks in advance for your inputs.Tried changing transport options but no luck. Transport failed with status RC12 without creating ABAP program. However, Old version transport files imported with error. But I could not find METHOD check_bpc_component_is_valid.
Can anyone please send the updated program.

BPC Mass User Management Tool in BPC 10.0 NW-Version Component Error
Hi,
We have a problem when importing request K900024.RBP and R900024.RBP.
We changed the UJ_STRING in "DATA: lv_value TYPE uj_value" in the source code as recommended at BPC Mass User Management Tool in BPC 10.0 NW
Unfortunately, when we try to import CSV files we receive a error message "BPC Version Component must be 800". Our is 801.
Where can I find this files or its upgrades? Is there a SAP link?
Can anybody help us?
Best Regards,
Ana TeresaHi Ana,
See note https://css.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/1861347. You should solve this issue.

Screen samples for EHS Management tool
Hello EHS gurus:
Can someone tell me where I can see some sample screens and steps in the EHS Management tool program?
Regards,Hello
first of all: what do you mean with "EHS Management tool program"?? SAP is not using this term.
SAP uses the term "SAP EHS Management". If you take a look on SAP pages then SAP Management does mean a number of applications which are grouped. Therefore this is not "one" program but many.
PLease refer to e.g.
http://www.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/corporate_services/ehs/index.epx#
http://help.sap.com/content/documentation/sbs/docu_sbs_ehs.htm
http://www.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/corporate_services/ehs/features-functions/environmental-compliance-software/index.epx
Take a look as an add on SAP pages using the term "sustainibility".
second:
Sorry: Best options is to prepare a SAP IDES system to get an idea about EHS Management. and the screens etc.
Another option is to get training from SAP. Be aware of the fact that to my knowledge there are not so many SAP locations there you can get training
E.G:: https://training.sap.com/us/en/course/sus310-sap-ehs-management-essentials-and-functions-eef-classroom-095-us-en/
With best regards

PPS: please make a survey in this FORUM using the term "Best practise" & EH&S". SAP is providing Best practise Solutions in the area of EHS (refer to SAP marketplace etc.).

SAP Bank Communications Management
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help? We are currently exploring with our bank using their facility for transmitting Payment Files directly to them through a secure transfer and also retrieving Statements, Forecasts, Acknowledgments and Rejections. The Payments files, Statements and Forecasts will use standard formats such as MT103/940 etc.
What we want to achieve is integrating with SAP using some standard functionality that will allow the Cash Management team an easy way of monitoring and controlling the payments.
Can anyone clarify whether the Bank Communication Management tool can be used for the above scenario or will it only allow you to use it if you have a direct connection to SWIFTnet??
Thanks in advance
AdamAdam,
You are right. BCM is the tool. What BCM can do is:
1. Batch payment runs into batches as per your requirement. For example you run say F110 10 times a day for EFT. Based on the BCM rules you can combine these 10 Payments runs into one or more batches
2. After having batched the payments, you can view them in BCM payment monitor. with the current status. From here you can drill down to the payment run and view the paid items.
3. After you receive ACK/NACK (Acknowledgement or rejection notices) message from SWIFT you can update this monitor and your Treasury/Cash management people can view this status. You can also set 'alerts' in case of rejection so that the responsible person can get an email and he/she can take immediate action.
4. Treasury/Cash management can also approve the payment, depending on cash availability stop the payment and can release it the next day once they have money. By this you are not reversing the payment, but it is just kept pending in BCM.
