SAP Certified V's SAP Approved Vendors

Hello Gurus
We are currently looking at some vendors for a project at the moment.  Some of them are SAP certified while others have been audited by SAP and their processes have been approved.  Can you please provide SAP’s definition of a ‘SAP Certified Vendor’ and a vendor that has been audited and their processes approved by SAP.  Possibly you can consider the following in your response?
Product compatibility and interface compatibility.
Future upgrade compatibility.
Implications on SAP support.
Any other items that should be considered.
The vendor is quoted as saying:
"We are not SAP certified.  We use SAP certified methods for connection to SAP
Information on items such as the JCO, .XML can be obtained from the SAP website.
Thus we use SAP certified methods of connection..."
Hope you can help!
KR,
C

  • Approved vendor List in SAP?

    We run SAP ECC 6.0
Is there a functionality available for AVL (Approved vendor list)?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
In my opinion, you would need PLM(Product Lifecycle Management) also for this functionality:
    http://www28.sap.com/businessmaps/B8D5310B98904774BA426D5F820E7D0C.htm
PLM is available ERP EhP4 onwards.

  • Are the Oracle Transparent Gateways SAP approved

Gentlemen: Thanks in advance for your reply. I am new on this gateway world and I am trying to find the best solution for us.
Situation ... DB Migration of SAP 4.5B from MSSQL to Oracle8 in Sun Solaris (No problem with this).
We run a VB application that connects to SAP using SAPComm to read from SAP and update, asl well.
Problem: We will do the migration but the developer of the application in VB may not be open to change their coding, and we found the option of replicating db tables from Oracle to MSSQL, once we migrate, with the Oracle Gateway, which produce something transparent to the VB application.
    Questions:
    1. Does SAP approve this kind of accesses/replications to their DBs without us affecting our license agreement with them? I should ask this question to SAP, but if you know already, that will defenitely help?
    2. I understand this tool (Oracle Transparent Gateway) is available as of Oracle9i. Our migrated SAP system will be running on Oracle8, but it is my understanding it does not matter the version of Oracle we are running our db, because what we procure is the Oracle9i to be installed separately to interact with both SAP (Oracle8) and MSSQL. Is that right? Could I build that scenario? If yes, how much is for the Oracle9i license. Should acquire it through SAP (I guess not)?
    Thanks,
    Juan-Carlos

You can use Oracle Streams to replicate from Oracle to SQL Server. This is a feature of Oracle 9.2.
This feature uses the Oracle Transparent Gateway for SQL Server to communicate between Oracle and SQL Server.
This is licensed separately from the database. Oracle 8 can communicate with Oracle 9i using DB links.
You can purchase a license for the each of these products at http://oraclestore.oracle.com/

  • Approved Vendors List

1.We need a list of Approved Vendors from List of Vendors Master Data. Is there any provision to have a report. Can any body Guide me.
    2. At time of Entering Vendors ( Business Partner)Master Data in <b>Accounting tab</b> if I Select  Tax Sub tab  There is a provision Vendor Type----
    Drop Down box .
In this can we define this vendor as <b>Approved.</b>
If so how can we generate Report.

2nd Iteration...client was not using the "Priority" field on the "Payment Terms" tab in the BP Master Data...so they dropped the usage of the "On Hold" and had me change the label of the "Priority" field to "Approval Stage".  They had started using several "stages" to approve a vendor.  They defined the approval levels as: QA Approved [with code of QA Appr], Engineer Dept Approved [with code of Engr Appr], Governmental Reporting Approved [Govern Appr], Final Approval [Final Appr].
    1.  To change the label of the fleld name: position the cursor over the field name, and double-click the field name as you hold the "Ctrl" key down.  Remember to make the new field name bold and use all caps for the new name (easy way to ID which field names have changed).
    2.  Wrote SQL on each stage of the approval process for each department as follows:
    SELECT *
    FROM OCRD T1
    WHERE T1.Priority = 'QA Appr'
    AND T1.CardType = 'V'
Just substituted 'QA Appr' with 'Engr Appr', etc...
    3.  Of course after seeing the various reports, someone in management came along and wanted to have a report that showed ALL Vendors in each and every stage so we changed the SQL to check:
WHERE T1. Priority IS NOT NULL
    AND T1.CardType = 'V'
    ORDER BY T1.Priority, T1.CardName
The government required them to do even more "stages" and so they had a third iteration...which was my original suggestion...

  • SAP MDM Vendor email addresses are not in order when sent to SAP R/3

    Hi Experts,
We were trying to maintain vendor email addresses in this order in SAP MDM:
    E-mail address: massupa@nexus
    Sequence Number: 001
    E-mail address: win@nexus
    Sequence Number: 002
    E-mail address: satita@nexus
    Sequence Number: 003
But when saving the record, its order get mixed up like below: (I believe it was arranged alphabetically automatically---> is this the standard MDM functionality?!)
    E-mail address: massupa@nexus
    Sequence Number: 001
    E-mail address: satita@nexus
    Sequence Number: 003
    E-mail address: win@nexus
    Sequence Number: 002
When it gets syndicated to ECC, its order was maintained incorrectly with incorrect IDs:
    E-mail address             ID
    massupa@nexus        001
    satita@nexus              002   -
    > should be 003
    win@nexus                 003  -
    > should be 002
we checked both the XML Files and the IDOC and found that it has the same order maintained in SAP MDM
    massupa@nexus        001
    satita@nexus              003
    win@nexus                 002
But how come the IDs were changed in R/3?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Mike,
As per your requirement, i feel that for ID either you can create a new field say sequence ID in this e-mail addresses table of MDM and thus can syndicate it or can also use ID as key using remote key concept. I mean for this e-mail addresses table, you can set property Key mapping = yes  in MDM Console and thus can use this IDs as key for this email address e.g. for massupa@nexus you can save ID as Key.
So during syndication, map this field with target IDOC structure field and I mean Remote Key under e-mail addresses table with IDOC ID target field. In this way you can have correct IDs with their corresponding email addresses.
Kindly let me know if you are looking for something else.

    Regards,

    Hi Danish,
    The entry would be:-
Upload Open Item AP A/C.... Dr.
    To Vendors Account (Credit balance)
    Vendors Account (Spl GL)..Dr.
To Upload Open Item AP A/C...Cr.
This way all your vendor open item will get uploaded in the system and the Upload Open Item Gl will get nullified when all items are uploaded in the system

  • Error when PDF File is send through SAP to Vendors.

    Hi,
We are regularly sending payment advices as PDF File to our Vendors. but from february all of sudden many of vendors are facing issue while opening PDF File.
Some of them are getting Error as "Adobe reader could not open file because it is either not supported file or because file has been damaged(it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded) while some of them are receiving Blank attachment.
Also when we try to send same file to internal id's and our personal Id's we are able to open same. So this is not sap problem as file leaves sap correctly.
What could be reasons they are not able to open same? Also this can't be a problem at recipients end as many of Vendors are facing this problem all of a sudden.  Also one more observation when correct file is received size is of 8KB while same when received by Vendors its only of 1 KB.
Please let me know solution for this.

  • EDI IDOC OUTBOUND send Purchase Orders from sap to vendors

    Hi Experts,
I am new to EDI IDOCS, but i got object on this. So my requirement is purchase orders are send to vendors from sap (OUTBOUND) through EDI-850 format. and also i have to add some more fields to standard idoc type ORDERS05, one more condition is if vendor type is not EDI, then the POs should send through fax, email, how can we solve this condition.
So plaese send some sample code on this object.
    Thanks in advance,
    S Reddy

    Hi ,
You can send the purchase order to the vendors using different outytpes configurations in NACE transaction .
If you define a particular output type where you need to give medium 6 and define partner functions within this you can also set condition which partner needs to recieve EDI output and which one FAX or email all this will be done by Functional expert.
For adding extra segments to your basic type ORDERS05  you need to extend the idoc you can do it via WE30 and WE31 .Link you message type to basic type and extension . Please follow below tcodes for further help . Create all the requested steps in the tcodes mentioned below.
    we20:patner profile
    we21:port
    we30:idoc creation
    we30:segment creation
    we81:message type
    we82:link message with idoc type.
    we02:to status of idocs.
Now you need to write code for filling those extra segments you have added to you extension type. For that you need to check where your new segment is placed in Idoc structure . There will be a exit avaliable to attach your code to fill those segments .
Please go through previous SDN links to see more info.
One the settings are done in the NACE , issue output from PO transction and once your output is processed check your Idoc in WE02 to see if the segments are coming with the desired data.

  • Creation of PDF in SAP per Vendor - Remitance Advice

    Hello Everybody,
We have come up with a requirement.
We are sending the remittance advice automatically to vendors once the payment run is executed via transaction F110.
The remittance advice will also be saved on the desktop of the user in PDF format, so that in future if the remittance advice is not delivered to the vendor then the user can send a copy to the vendor.
A spool will be created after F110 is executed. With the spool number we can convert the forms into PDF.
Now the issue is Only one PDF document is created for one spool. One spool will have the advices created for multiple vendors. We requrie one PDF document per vendor. That is each vendor should have different PDF document.
Let us know you views on this .
    Regards,
    MG

Did you develop a custom program to output the file on to the users computer? If so you may be able to modify it.  I'm familiar with the standard program that will let you e-mail the PDF but didn't realize it would save it to the local machine, especially as it's run as part of a background job and would have thought it would drop it on the application server.
That said depending on the number of vendors you have saving one PDF per vendor I think would be more of a pain.  We for example pay 1,000s of vendors a week so looking through the files, even it it were somehow named intelligently (vendor #, payment date, etc.) may take some time.  There are 3rd party apps that let you print to a PDF or modify an existing PDF.
For example CutePDF allows you to print a document and save it to a PDF.  What I'm thinking is just open the large file that contains all of the vendor remittances, search on the vendor #, and then print the pages you need to a PDF file which can be e-mailed.  Or use some PDF modify/creation program to just save the pages you want to a new file and e-mail that out.  May be less clunky than CutePDF but I don't have an app like that installed.  Not exactly what you asked for I know but a possible solution.
    Good luck.
