SAP CRM Approval Management

Hi Experts,
We are trying to implement the functionality for Approval Management, in CRM 7 EHP2. We followed the documentation on SAP Help as mentioned below and the IMG help.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm700_ehp02/helpdata/en/8a/5283bda2364bc09ffc7aa84f48bc72/frameset.htm
My only query is: Is this functionality only meant for "Service Requests" or for others such as Sales Orders?
There is no such restriction mentioned anywhere in SAP Help or IMG documentation, however, during implementation, we saw that there was no assignment block for "Approval Procedure" for the sales order, but is present for the Service Request, and works very well.
We are able to assign the "Approval Procedure" to the Sales Order transaction type in SPRO, though.
Are we missing something, or is it a future functionality that is partially implemented in EHP2?
Thanks & Regards,
Nelson.

Hi,
You can assign the approval  process for other transaction apart from Service request.
We had did the same approval process for CRM pricing approval in one of our project. We linked a  workflow for the approval process.

Ashish

  • Standard way of Handling Escalation process in CRM Complaint Management

    Dear experts,
What is the standard way of mapping Escalation process in SAP CRM Complaints management?
We need to escalate the complaint to next level if it is not resolved with in the a specific time.
How can we configure this scenario in SAP CRM. Please help me to solve this issue. Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Raghu ram

    Hi Arup,
We are setting up a Complaints Mgmt system for our client.
They have a very standard process of handling complaints.
The complaints are created in the system and assigned to a CR Agent. The CR agent then forwards to the respective department for investigation. Once the investigation is compelete the department sends it back to the CR who then decides whether the Complaint is justified or not.
If it is justifed and there is a money refund involved then there is a limit to what the CR agent can approve. If its more than his limit somebody from higher authority needs to approve it. My quesiton to you is:
    - How is the complaint assigned to the CR agent. Do I need to replicate the Org strucutre from HR into CRM? If yes, then once I have the org structure where do I do the CR assignment?
    - Secondly how does the CR agent assign the complaint to other department for investigation. Is this through CRM Complaint Activity or there is another way for it?
    - Third once the investigation is complete and the required department needs to send the feedback how will this be sent back to the CR for making the final decision. Is there a workflow?
    - Finally how can we setup the cap limits like if there is a money refund to the customer from the complaint then if the the amount is between 0 and 500 a CR should be able to approve it, if the amount is between 500 - 1000 the manager should be able to approve it, how can this be setup?
    Many thanks

  • Attachment Handling in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP 3.0

    Hello,
We are in the design phase of an SAP CRM 7.0 EhP3 implementation project. In the current landscape the legacy system for customer service  (CS) management uses an external shared fileserver for storing attachments from the CS system. However we plan to decommission this external content server as it does not support good security features.
Storing attachments in SAP CRM via content management - can SAP CRM content management support large files? What is the maximum capacity per attachment and also the overall maximum capacity that SAP CRM content management can support.
We have "heard" that SAP does not recommend storing attachments within CRM, but rather in an external secure storage server. Is this true? Is yes, what would be the best approach to store and read attachments from SAP CRM?
    Regards,
    Reena

    Hi Christophe,
Facebook and Twitter are officially integrated into SAP CRM 7.0 EHP 3. Not LinkedIn though.
You can use a custom solution in EHP2. Example is provided in SAPPress book SAP CRM: Techical Principles and Programming.

  • Connecting SAP CRM (or R/3) to FileNet

We are implementing a SAP CRM 5.0 system, and FileNet P8 is to be used as the document repository for SAP CRM.
We are using the FileNet adaptor, called ACSAP for SAP R/3, which allows us to connect to SAP CRM using the generic ArchiveLink functionality. However, we have found that the generic SAP ArchiveLink functionality is very restricted compared with the standard SAP CRM document management (e.g. versioning, creation from templates etc).
For example the documents tab on a SAP object, such as the business partner, allows users to import or create documents from new or from a template.  The user will be prompted to enter metadata and this document will have a version associated with it and it can be checked in and checked out by the user.  However we are currently using ArchiveLink which requires the user to click "activate ArchiveLink" to create the ArchiveLink folder.  In order to save a document in ArchiveLink the user must then import or create a document in the ArchiveLink folder.  Unfortunately most of the functionality mentioned previously, such as creation from a template and metadata capture, is not available when creating a document in the ArchiveLink folder.  We have also found that due to the lack of metadata the document name is generically assigned and thus is not useful to the user for identification.
In addition it is not possible to force users to save their documents into ArchiveLink, therefore they are able to save them outside of the required document repository. We have been unable to find a good solution to this problem.
So we want to know if it is either possible to:
    - Specify that SAP CRM document management use ArchiveLink as its standard document repository?
    - Connect FileNet/ACSAP directly to SAP CRM document management without using ArchiveLink?
Has anyone had experience connecting SAP CRM (or SAP R/3) to FileNet, and is able to provide us with some insight?
    Thanks
    Philip

    Steps:
    1) Activate the application component hierarchy (tcode RSA9). Changes made to the application component hierarchy in the CRM system can be transferred to the BW using the "Edit Application Component Hierarchy" (SBIW - Postprocessing of DataSources).
SAP Note 434886 must be implemented in CRM 3.0 before the application component hierarchy is activated.
    2) Activate the Business Content DataSources (tcode RSA5).
Select/enter the application component and choose Execute (F8).
To compare the shipped and active versions, choose the 'Select Delta' pushbutton. If there is no active version of the DataSource, it is selected automatically.
To activate the shipped version, choose the 'Transfer DataSources' pushbutton.
    3) Management of the versions of the BW-Adapter metadata (tcode BWA5). All DataSources are displayed that are managed by the BW Adapter.
As in transaction RSA5 (Service API Metadata Activation), the 'Select Delta' function can be used to select the inactive DataSources or compare shipped and active versions.
You can also go directly to the screen for maintaining DataSources that are managed by the BW Adapter.
The 'Compare Version' function makes a detailed comparison of the shipped and active versions.
All BW-Adapter metadata is considered when versions are compared:
    Header information (Table SMOXHEAD)
    Mapping information (Table SMOXRELP)
    Global selection conditions (Table SMOXGSEL)
    Attribute key fields (Table SMOXAFLD)
Datasources used in CRM-BW extraction are:

    0BBP_STSMA_TEXT
    0CRMFOCST_TEXT
    0CRM_ACCPLN_ATTR

  • Bounce Management in SAP CRM 2007

    Hi Experts,
we have SAP CRM 2007 and I have a few questions about Bounce Management.
It is a very simple scenario, so it´s fine if only hard bounces for incoming EMails are handled.
    1) Do you need ERMS for that simple form of Bounce Mgt?
    2) Is the Usage of Inetraction Center required? (We do not want to)
    3) Is it possible/recommended to create Activities out of incoming bounces?
    4) Can you segment on Bounces, not only within the Campaign Automation?
    5) What ist the effort/set up to use Bounce Mgt in that simple scenario about?
    Thanks a lot
    Florian

Yes, I was mentioning SAP Note 897730. The major pre-requisite mentioned there is Event linkage settings through SWETYPV transaction and in your case you just need to do the Rule Modeler settings. If you are using DEFAULT policy you do not need to do anything in Service Manager Profile.
    The note pre-requisites mentioned are
The required services and service manager profiles for using the E-Mail Response Management System (ERMS) are defined: All entries necessary for bounce management are delivered in the default Customizing. As I mentioned before Service Manager Profile: Bounce is already defined and you are going to use that profile. The required service in your case would be "Bounce Data Update" or one of the 5 standard service mentioned in this note. These are already defined and taken care of in standard configurations. Therefore, you do not need to do anything over there.
Please do the above two settings and if you have any issues please come back to me. I am sure you won't have any issues with the requirements that you mentioned. I just took one hour to set up hard bounce scenario. Only if you are planning to use services that are not standard it becomes slightly tricky. In our case major issue was that there was an error in the standard workflow. I did not know much about Workflow bindings etc. before, but then I had to dig deep into this and it gave me an opportunity to learn workflows. This was the good thing that came out of all this.
    Regards,
    Deepak
Please note you will have to do the Event Linkage settings in SWETYPV transaction.

  • Importance of Bounce management functionality in SAP CRM

    Hi All,
I want to discuss few interesting issues which I have come a cross while doing a setting for bounce management functionality in SAP CRM 7.0
Before sharing my experience I want to discuss some term related to Bounce email than will discuss about types of bounce emails and cause of the bounce email. The setting of bounce functionality is describing in below link .
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm700_ehp01/helpdata/en/46/3f509215835fa7e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
In general when a website visitor sigh up they receive email from the company site, the information the site collected saved in the database but It commonly happen some of your email will be undeliever. In marketing term we say it as 'Bounce'. this is the same way happen as when a person give a bank cheque to bank and don't have sufficient money to his/her account the bank people say the cheque got bounce ..
As we are aware emails are bounce for variety of reason such as.
         - In case the recipient email address is invalid.
         - recipient email address is inactive or closed
         - recipient mailbox is full or mail server have some technical issue etc
In general all these bounces emails categorize in two category.
Hard bounce- When email address is not active. example wrong email address, email address de-activated, deleted,or closed
Soft bounce-  recipient mailbox is full, mail server have some technical issue, Out_of_office is setup .
Now finally we come to know about the cause of bounce email and types. Now the question arises why this is so important when we have bounce management functionality active in sap crm marketing ? as described in above url.
suppose that there is a campaigning happening for an product where 3000 person visited it. Now incase 2000 visitors shown interest so have qualified as prospect bases on the information they have provided such as name, address, salary or employment detail.
After successfully execution of campaign now senior executives create a mailing list for all the prospects in the target group of campaign and sends email to all the users. Now if I say to how many customers really company have reached reached after campaign execution answer will be we can not have the correct fact and figure as there could be some bounce happened.
Now incase bounce management setting is configure in your CRM system than system will receive inbound e-mails for each bounce.Suppose we have received one thousand bounce emails than we would say actual customer contacted is 1000. this is the correct fact and figure and very much useful for marketing people.
After than executive could remove email address which were hard bounced and for soft bounce they can use some other channel to contact like telephone calls etc to reach them.
The correct facts and figures are very much important for marketing strategy and planning and also to know success level of each campaign. Assume a scnario where in day a company launches more than 5 campaign. I feel the importace is transparent now.
I hope you would find some interest in above blog.
    Thanks
