Issue with special characters in SAP CRM ICSS application.
Hi ,
I have issue with the special character in CRM web application.
1. In CRM IC Webclient application(5.0) . i am copying and pasting some special characters in the description of the service request document. then this is saving the character as it is.
But when i am opening the same service request in SAP CRM ICSS(Internet Customer Self-Service) application, then the special characters are converting to different characters.
I am not sure whether this is the right forum for this or not.
Can anyone please suggest how can i correct this. Or is there any standard solution to handle the special characters in ICSS.

Something like XAE or "K" after PAY Value in the xml tag and continued the text value. (Tag value is not getting copied exactly here - i am sorry for that )

Accessing SAP CRM 7.0 objects
Hi All,
After doing lot of research on SAP CRM 7.0 documentation, I got to know that there are different ways to access data from the system:
1) Using BAPIs
2) Using RFCs
3) Using SAP XI
4) Using Web Services (Enterprise services?)
I am interested in going with the Web Services option.
I have read in the documentation that Enterprise Service Repository is part of SAP NetWeaver Platform.
We are planning to register for SAP RAC service to get access to SAP CRM 7.0.
If we have access to just SAP CRM 7.0, will I be able to access the web services.
Can someone please help me understand this.

I read the documentation[1] which says that there are 235 enterprise services built for 35 business objects.
That said, the wsdl will be already published for all those default web services I believe.
Can't I just consume the default web services and read the data from SAP CRM 7.0?
As SAP CRM is dependent on SAP NetWeaver, can I assume that I will have access to all the Out of the Box web services if I have SAP CRM 7.0 installation.

actully i m new in SAP CRM field but having good knowledge about marketing consept. i m little confuse about the SAP CRM implimentation, I know it's a complex process and it's main motive to profit maximization & shortend the sales bind-up and many more... can u pls tell me about few real CRM implementaion example, why & how actully CRM implemented? and what was the GAP there on client requirments?

In the case of Sales / ICWC you could start with basic order entry. This would be phase 1.
In phase 2 you could add extended fact sheet, sales contracts, case management, and scripting functionalities. If you decide to include Marketing, then this phase could for example include free goods.
Phase 3 would consist of extended marketing functionality: full segmentation of BPs according to multiple marketing attributes; marketing calendar/plan and campaigns.
Phase 1 alternative: Leave ICWC for phase 2 and only implement basic sales functionality in phase 1. In that case you would do order entry via CRMD_ORDER and not via ICWC. Phase 2 would then included (basic) ICWC functionality.
Of course the demands and requirements of your customer would be leading in deciding the phasing of your project.

Except for the application error pages you should also keep in mind that some error pages are generated by SAP Webdispatcher - presuming you are using one in front of your J2EE-Engine

New JAVA application with data from SAP CRM and R/3
Hi All,
We have a requirement to create a new application which will have CRM BP Master data and D&B Data from R/3 and based on authorization different roles be able to edit some of the fields and workflows to confirm the new data .Once users edit the fields in the application the new data will be replicated back into BP Master Data in CRM.
In our company we are using CRM 7.0 and R/3 4.7 system if we decided to create the application using JAVA can you please let me know the architecture(servers etc) we might need because of the JAVA application.
How to connect Java application to SAP CRM 7.0. Can you please guide me the data flow structure

SAP CRM 7.0 - Interactive reporting tool enhancing reports with new fields
Hi Everyone,
I am a BW Professional, currently working on evaluating the true benefits of implementing Interactive Reporting tool for our company. As I understand the Interactive reporting tool restricts us to report on individual reporting areas like Activities, Leads, Opportunties etc.
But according to our business it is very important for us to be able to report on cross reporting areas real time i.e. activities & leads together or activties, leads & opportunties together etc.
I learned about the enhancement work bench in interactive reporting tool where we can add SAP fields to individual reporting areas, so I thought of adding leads & opportunties to activities. This is where the fun part starts.
Here I learned that all activty ID, Lead ID and Oppo ID are all fed from one single field from SAP CRM i.e. OBJECT_ID, which means the system is dividing this data into individual reporting areas based on type of data i.e. leads or oppor's etc. and may be based on some key like account etc. So here is a technical question, for me to add a new field to a reporting area I have to give a field name but we already have OBJECT_ID from where I am pulling activties data, so if I want to include leads also in activties then I will have to add some logic manually to get that and can't use enhancement workbench because it is for missing fields from SAP CRM whereas in my case I already have OBJECT_ID from where I am getting Activity data.
Sorry if I am driving you guys crazy but I am just trying to think loud to make myself clear with concepts.
Also I have seen that a reporting area in Interactive reporting tool is based on a BW query, but I am not sure why not all the fields in BW query are available for reporting in Interactive reporting tool?
Any help or commets will be greatly appreciated.

checking with the config wizard is always a good idea since it's the only supported way to configure this scenario
The secret is that you apparently did not activate the report areas. It is a bit missleading that the queries are checked before the report areas are checked, therefore you see the errors concerning the queries first. Below those errors you should find some lines like
Report areas: delivered 15, active <?>
CRM interactive reports: delivered 20, active <?>
Activation of report areas checked
The last line offers some documentation and the actual link to activate the report areas.

Adding Extended Field in CIC0 - SAP CRM 5.0 IC Win

Scenario:
1) SAP CRM 5.0 - IC WinClient;
2) I have extended 3 fields using EEWB;
3) These fields were created correctly under "Clients Field Tab";
My Problem:
I want to see theses fields in the standard CIC0 (Activity Screen) and not inside the "Clients Fields Tab".
Three Questions:
1) Is it possible to add extendend field to the standard screen?
2) If yes, How can I do this?
3) Is this possible using Screen Variant?

For non-ABAP'ler it is a lot of effort, even experienced programmers need depending on the requirements up to several days.
2) If this field is used in several screens (e.g CIC0 / CRMD_ORDER, etc) will I have to do the same procedure for every transaction/screen?
No, it is one screen only, which is re-used in both transactions.
3) If I have two distinc Contact Centers using the same application, can I hide this fields that I've added using screen variant for one CIC0 and allow the other to see them?
If you use screen variants these are depending on transaction type only and not on te contact center application, so once you define a layout e.g. for a phone call, this layout is taken by all applications in call center and crmd_order.

The CRM version in our landscape is : CRM 7.0 EHP3
But we have installed below versions in Fiori.
UIX02CRM (release 100) SP3.
GBX02CRM SP3
Please suggest whether we need to uninstall them and install new versions(CRM001-CRM 7.0 EhP3 SPS07).
Also system does not allow to uninstall existing components. Please advice on this.

I defaulted input help field (pick list) but SAP CRM still asking for one
We are running SAP CRM 7.0.
Some fields as you know are dialog / pick list fields.
What I mean by this is they are input help fields where you
can click a little square (in sap crm 7.0) to the right of the text box
and it brings up a dialog screen of values that you can select from.
Here is an example screen shot of what I am talking about:

So what I have done is implemented the GETTER function for this input help field so that by default it has a value.
The code is like so:

The method works great it sets the default of the currency to say USD. When I click the create button to create an opportunity the field currency is set to USD, this is great because it makes my job easier that I dont have to click the input help button and select a currency, it is already there.
But once I click the "Save" button for an opportunity I get a small error in the error notification box that tells me I need to select a currency! But why is this happening a currency already exists? So If I click the input help (the little button) and reselect the currency value USD then save my opportunity this error goes away.
The question is why does this happen? I need it so that the default currency value is recognized by the SAP CRM system. Why do I have to go back in and re-select the currency if it is already set? Is there some sort of consistency check or something I need to do to eliminate this problem?
Here is a screen shot after creating an opportunity with the default Currency set to USD (this means I did not select USD in the dialog input help it was defaulted by the getter method:

Only if I go back into edit mode and actually click the little square to bring up the dialog of values and select USD does this error go away. Why does this happen ?I called SET_CURRENCY right after setting my value and the error is now gone.

In which screen the Profit Center field can be seen in SAP CRM Product Master?

1) Do we have profit center field in SAP CRM Product Master?If yes then in which screen can we see?
2) At the moment we are not using the profit center field in either of the systems(ECC and SAP CRM) in Material, we want to use this then how to go ahead to have this field in CRM.
3) If we add the profit center value in material master in ECC under general and plant data view then how this value will be replicated into SAP CRM , delta load or initial load?
We are using SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP CRM 7.1 systems.

1.Need to mark the fields as mandatory in SAP CRM Opportunity (description,sales prospect,phase,status,opportunity group,origin
,product(description,quantity,expected total value) ,Milestones(Start date and end date),Organization.
2.Also the fields in SAP CRM Quotation ( Prodcut,Usage,Project Manager ITS (an Employee) and Capitalization ( our Z-customer field)
How to achieve this ? Is this can be done through pure customization in SAP CRM or any developers work involves? We are using SAP CRM 4.0 .

SreedharSome can be done thru customazing in spro>crm>basic settings>incompleteness>Define Incompleteness Procedures. For more enhanced functionality you can use also badi under spro>crm>basic settings>incompleteness>Business Add-In for Incompleteness Check in Business Transac.
To define incompleteness for exampla for SAP CRM Opportunity - description, do the following in spro>crm>basic settings>incompleteness>Define Incompleteness Procedures:
- create new incompletenes group: e.g. ZOPP
- assign this group to your opportunity transaction type
- define incompleteness procedure:
- object type: ORDERADM_H
- field name: DESCRIPTION
- relavance: HEADER
- message: ERROR
- define determination

ISA Application SAP CRM 5.0 - on mobile
Hi All,
We are supporting ISA application fr our client on SAP CRM 5.0, as of now.
We would like to check if there is any possibility for our end users to open the application on their mobiles. If its possible, what all do we need to configure, if any.. \
Any inputs on the same would be highly appreciated...

since couple of steps in the ISA environment invoke CRM backend calls I do not think, that this is feasible in an offline scenario.
