SAP CRM Implementation Process

Hi Guy's,
I am kind of new to SAP CRM... I am in the process of finding as much information as possible regarding SAP CRM. I have a general question (show below) regarding CRM Implementation... I am hoping to get an answer from you....
Q: If any Company chooses to implement SAP CRM in 2 or more phases.... then which functionalities (Ex: in Marketing, Sales and CIC) the company would implement in the 1st phase and what are the other functionalities he would like to implement in the next phases?
Let me know if the question is not clear enough....
I really appreciate, if you could explain in detail.....
Thanks in advance...
Sreen

Hi Sreen,
In the case of Sales / ICWC you could start with basic order entry. This would be phase 1.
In phase 2 you could add extended fact sheet, sales contracts, case management, and scripting functionalities. If you decide to include Marketing, then this phase could for example include free goods.
Phase 3 would consist of extended marketing functionality: full segmentation of BPs according to multiple marketing attributes; marketing calendar/plan and campaigns.
Phase 1 alternative: Leave ICWC for phase 2 and only implement basic sales functionality in phase 1. In that case you would do order entry via CRMD_ORDER and not via ICWC. Phase 2 would then included (basic) ICWC functionality.
Of course the demands and requirements of your customer would be leading in deciding the phasing of your project.
Kind regards,
KZ

  • SAP CRM Implementation Project - Phases/Stages

    Hi all
I am very new to this Area !
I would like to know different Phases/Stages in the SAP CRM Implementation Project !
    Regards
    RJ

    Remo,
I believe every SAP CRM Implementation project would follow the ASAP methodology which is as follows:
    Phase1: Project Preparation
The system landscape is set up, consultants are assigned. Project charter is created etc.
    Phase2: Business Blueprint
The implementation consultants do a study of the clients business and learn how the processes/ cycles involved thru discussions, workshops etc
This is documented as an AS-IS document.
The clients business processes are then mapped on to SAP by the consultants.
This is documented as the TO-BE document
Gap Analysis is performed to identify any gaps between the AS-IS and TO-BE documents. i.e. something that the client wants but cannot be met thru SAP CRM. Then enhancements etc come into picture.
    Phase3: Realization
The system is configured as per the TO-BE document. And the client is given for testing.
    Phase4: Preparation for Go-LIve
Once the client confirms all the unit and integration tests, the master data needs to be uploaded. Other system checks by basis and SAP itself are performed.
    Phase5: Go live and support
The project goes live and the consultants give a month's of hypercare or support.
Hope this is wat you were expecting.

    hi
well talking about the implementation project in CRM
let us assume we are implementing it in BANKING industry
here the requirement is in improvement in the field processing and all the effeciency of the sales or feet on street
so we implement the CRM marketing with CIC
what it will do that we start with first the readiness document that what all are the requirement of the bank and how the company can cope it with the help of CRM
then we prepare the BLUEPRINT to state that the data to be processed will be strucutured in CRM in how many phases or the timely schedule of the roll over of CRM in bank
next up we start with the configuration ,like we have to start campaigns and generate leads for the banks which may get converted into the opportunities
so have to do all the configuration of CRM according to the requirements being given
one thin g i forgot which is very imp is that we do requirement gathering, its pretty imp part of entire process
after getting these only we can do whatever we want with CRm
so after that we realise the configuration in realisation phase then we do those UATs and SITs
this way we phase out the CRM in any sector
    just a gist of everything
    hope i cleared some air
    best regards

  • Standard authorization role for CRM implementation team member

    Hello,
We are starting SAP CRM implementation project (7.0) and I would like to avoid giving sap_all authorizations to functional consultants in development environment. Unfortunetly I can't find standard customizer profiles like the ones in ERP system exists.
So the objective is to have quite broad role or profile with no restrictions in customization and functional area. However it's important not to have Basis authorizations in this role/profile. Hope that someone can give me a hint in this direction.
    Thnak you,
    Jahoo

    Hi,
as soon as the implementation team member should also do developments my experience is that without SAP_ALL you will have much trouble. Therefore in our dev-system each consultant will have SAP_ALL authorization. Of course only in the DEV-System.
    Kind regards

  • Environment Readiness Checklist for Application Test in an SAP CRM project

    Hello Experts,
I am working for a very large SAP CRM implementation project at my firm. I am part of Application Test team responsible for carrying out all due dilligence before test begins. I need your help to prepare a detailed checklist for Environment Readyness covering below items like
    - Transport (Custom Build as well as Config)
    - Checking and ensuring that code and config is moved successfully
    - Number Range Set Up
    - Manual Configurations ( partner profile creation, initial ALE config
    - Initial Master Data creation ( reference customer, register groups, enter values in some custom Z-Tables ,service providers etc etc..)
    - Any other item which you I should take into account
    Regards
    Rohit

    Hello Sumanth,
By going to System -> Status -> SAP System Data -> View Components, you should be able to see the soft components which are installed in your system, I guess.
These soft components corresponds to the business suite applications which are installed.
This is what you wanted ?

  • Moving OTC processes from SAP R/3 into SAP CRM 5.0

    Hi all,
A SAP CRM client that I am currently working on have decided to extend the project scope and now want to move all their existing OTC processes from R/3 to CRM 5.0. Their system is heavily bespoked with a high level of user exits, as during the initial implementation they preferred to use more ABAP than config although some of the functionality was available as standard. If they haven’t figured it out yet, I’m sure they’ll be asking themselves soon whose clever idea that was. They have over 1m customer records with a low transaction volume per customer per year, configurable products, complex pricing and use Biller Direct, just to mention a few.
Has anyone got any experience in doing this previously? Any issues, challenges or lessions learnt apart from the obvious ones?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
You can go ahead for IMPORT with DB 9.7.
We completed an OS/DB Migration Project (which involves system copy using EXPORT/IMPORT) and we utilized direct newer version of DB2 on the target during IMPORT.
But please confirm whether the kernel of your release would work fine with DB 9.7 or not. Otherwise, there is no problem in going for higher version of DB2 here.
Small question -  Why you want to test the Mock Upgrade on DB2 version which is different than the current version on production server ? Or are you planning to upgrade your current DB2 8 to DB2 9.7 BEFORE the SAP Upgrade on all the servers - then the testing is OK I think (however OS is still the different - Or may be you will go for system copies for this too !)
    Thanks

  • Hi, I'd like to know how SAP CRM has been 'tailored' for the High Education sector?  Is it basically the same product than the existing CRM or a totally different syste,?  Where has it been implemented?  Is there an existing document/presentation about it

Hi, I'd like to know if the SAP CRM solution for High Ed is the same product thant the existing CRM solution?  Or has it been 'tailored' for High Ed? If so, how?  Is there existing documentation/presentation about it?  Where has it been implemented?
    Thanks!
    Sylvie from Montreal

    Ged,
whilst generally I agree with you a question (or two) for clarification so we can be sure we're not comparing apples with oranges
I'm not familiar with O2's product lineup but given you're on Annex M is that a business package?
Are you on an Infinity residential or business package?
On the subject of the offshore support teams my experience from the other sife of the fence is that many, many of them are very technically orientated. The problem is that the ISPs they work for don't give them access to many of the tools that are needed (they need to raise internal requests to even get line checks done in some cases) and also they are very heavily scripted & monitored in what they do/say on a call.
Sounds like O2 are operating as a contact centre rather than as a call centre which is much more preferable from the customers point of view.
DISCLAIMER: although I work in the industry I do not work for BT and any opinions given are purely my own.

  • SAP Implementation Process !!!

    Hi Folks,
I need brief information about the SAP implementation process. As per the ASAP Methodology we have different phases involved in the entire implementation process from Project preparation,Blue print analysis,Realization,Final Preparation and Go Live Support.
I did not involve myself into implementation. Being a Basis consultant I would like to know what is the involvement of basis consultant in each phase in detail and what are the activities being carry out by a basis team, what would be the avg team size and what would be the duration of the project approximately. I know it depends on the project and modules being used, architecture and all. i just wanted to know the rough details for information.
I would really appreciate for any useful information.
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi Viond,
Please find below an elaborated details for SAP Implementaion.
The ASAP (Accelerated SAP) Roadmap provides the methodology for implementing and continuously optimizing your SAP System. It divides the implementation process into five major phases and offers detailed Project Plans to assist you (Microsoft Project format). The documentation stored at each level of the Roadmap tree structure contains recommendations on implementing your SAP System and links to helpful tools and accelerators. We use SAP Solution Manager for the same and define the steps and this information can be transformed into MPP.
The implementation of your SAP System covers the following major phases:
    Project Preparation
In this phase you plan your project and lay the foundations for successful implementation. It is at this stage that you make the strategic decisions crucial to your project:
Define your project goals and objectives
Clarify the scope of your implementation
Define your project schedule, budget plan, and implementation sequence
Establish the project organization and relevant committees and assign resources
Sizing for the SAP Servers (SAPS) Important for Basis.
    Business Blueprint
In this phase you create a blueprint using the Question & Answer database (Q&Adb) older versions and now it has been replaced by new value adds from SAP in Solution Manager, which documents your enterpriseu2019s requirements and establishes how your business processes and organizational structure are to be represented in the SAP System. You also refine the original project goals and objectives and revise the overall project schedule in this phase.  In short its As is >> To be its from from functional consultant (mapping of business process) Basis will be involved how and when backup will be taken what 3rd party/vendor will be used, how users will be handled (CUA or normal procedure).
    Realization
In this phase, you configure the requirements contained in the Business Blueprint. Baseline configuration (major scope) is followed by final configuration (remaining scope), which can consist of up to four cycles. Other key focal areas of this phase are conducting integration tests and drawing up end user documentation. Major part will be creation of transport requests and transportation to QAS system. Configuration of SAProuter, Solution manager and its various configuration
    Final Preparation
In this phase you complete your preparations, including testing, end user training, system management, and cutover activities. You also need to resolve all open issues in this phase. At this stage you need to ensure that all the prerequisites for your system to go live have been fulfilled...Final Check.
    Go Live & Support
In this phase you move from a pre-production environment to the live system. The most important elements include setting up production support, monitoring system transactions, and optimizing overall system performance.
You can also download an HTML version of the ASAP Core Roadmap 7.1 on [SAP Services Marketplace - ASAP Roadmaps and Run SAP Roadmaps|http://service.sap.com/asap] (SMP login required).
    All the best !

  • Number for bDocs processed per hour in custom interface to SAP CRM from Tibco

    Hello Experts,
Could you please let me know the ideal Number for bDocs processed per hour for a interface which has SAP CRM and TIBCO.
The intent is to use to most easy to scale technology for a custom interface to SAP CRM from Tibco .
I did check the forums but was not able to get a definitive answer.
I understand that it is not possible to quantify the exact number of BDocs that can be processed in an hour, but could you please let me know the factors on which it depends.
    Regards,
    Akash

It depends on type of data you want to process and the size of your hardware.  My rule of thumb is that you should be able to do at least 1 BDOC per second in a worst case scenario or 3600 records for a small size system.  Keep in mind the biggest bottleneck is the database update/lookup times.  A properly sized large system, could do much more volume.  Your best bet is put in the desired transactional throughput into the SAP quicksizer and then work with your SAP hardware partner to approriately size your production box.
If you already have hardware for production bought/existing, then find out the current SAPS rating for your hardware and then use the quicksizer to determine the target SAPS needed to meet your requirements.
    Take care,
    Stephen
