SAP ECC Interface w/ IDOC-XML using TCP/IP, HTTP, or FTP to 3rd-Party Syst.

I am trying to understand if the following interface options can occur (without the use of SAP PI or any other middleware):
Option 1A: Can I process an SAP ECC outbound IDoc in XML using TCP/IP to a non-SAP 3rd party system?  Can you please explain the reason for why I can or can NOT do this.  If possible, please provide supporting documentation on how-to do this?
Option 1B: Can I process an SAP ECC inbound XML-IDOC from a non-SAP calling system that used TCP/IP?  Can you please explain the reason for why I can or can NOT do this. If possible, please provide supporting documentation on how-to do this?
Option 2A: Can I process an SAP ECC outbound IDOC in XML using HTTP to a non-SAP 3rd-party system?  Can you please explain the reason for why I can or can NOT do this. If possible, please provide supporting documentation on how-to do this?
Option 2B: Can I process an SAP ECC inbound XML-IDOC from a non-SAP calling system that used HTTP?  Can you please explain the reason for why I can or can NOT do this. If possible, please provide supporting documentation on how-to do this?
Option 3A: Can I process an SAP ECC outbound IDOC in XML using FTP to a non-SAP 3rd-party system?  Can you please explain the reason for why I can or can NOT do this. If possible, please provide supporting documentation on how-to do this?
Option 3B: Can I process an SAP ECC inbound XML-IDOC from a non-SAP calling system that used FTP?  Can you please explain the reason for why I can or can NOT do this. If possible, please provide supporting documentation on how-to do this?

Hello Kirk  ,
The answers for your question are:
Option 1A: Yes you can .you can use TCP/IP but you must have a middleware component for that such as BC/JCO .
Please see the link : [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/09/c88442a07b0e53e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
Option 1B: See the link above.
Option 2A: You can use ABAP code :
[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/e5/4d3514c11411d4ad310000e83539c3/frameset.htm]
Option 2B: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/90/4f3c2ec3c511d6b2b400508b6b8a93/frameset.htm]
Option 3A: Only with ABAP code :[Reg: FTP Connection;
Option 3B: See the link of Option 3A.

    I recently created a video in iMovie that I later uploaded to YT. I had a message from YT a day later saying that the music I used in my video was detected as 3rd party content. I used music found in the music and sound effect section. The artist is listed as Apple Inc. What happened?
    This is the message I received:

    What does this mean?
    After your dispute has been submitted, your video will soon be available on YouTube without ads for third parties. This is a temporary status and might change at any time.Learn more about copyright on YouTube.

    This question comes up from time to time. YouTube and Facebook are both wrong.
    There are a number of con-men who think that they can earn a quick buck from claiming that they own the copyright to Apple’s royalty-free jingles and sound effects included with the iLife applications. These are all free to use, as clearly stated in section 2.C of the iLife Software License Agreement:
    “You may use the Apple and third party audio content (“Audio Content”) contained in or otherwise included with the Apple software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual samples, sound sets, or audio content may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound files, sound effects or music beds.”

  • Receiver IDOC error - using TCP/IP

    Hi All,
    I have a scnario where I am sending an IDOC to BCOMM ERP system via IDOC adapter from SAP PI using TCP/IP RFC program but while sending it is giving me an error in SM58 as IDocException occurred and there isn't much info in SM21 or ST22 or any other transaction.
    Error log in SM21 says
    Name of the partner program where an error has occurred.  Check the
    preceding system log entries.
    Use the gateway monitor (transaction SMGW) to monitor the functions
    of the gateway.
    If someone has ever worked on such a scneario please let me knw and any pointers would be great.
    Cheers
    Abhi

    Hi Michael,
    I know that this is not the conventional way but we cannot use RFC of type 3 as it is not a ECC system , it can handle IDOC communication via Idoc adapter through a SAP connector at there end which can be handled only via TCP/IP.
    I am able to do it for another system with similar scenario but Not able to do for this particular system.
    Can you tell me about your scenario and how you did it?
    Thanks for your reply.
    Cheers

  • Using BC Form for Newsletter Signup on 3rd party platform

    I am working with a client who has a 3rd party online store, but their website is hosted on BC platform. I need to provide the newsletter signup form code to the other dev team so they can recreate the form to allow customers to signup for the newsletter while shopping in the the new online store. Is there any documentation on this? It seems that the .js files are BC specific.
    The form is making a call to "/CampaignProcess.aspx?ListID=27563". This does not exist on the site and the 3rd party developer needs access to that actual aspx file or have the full URL path?
    The form also makes a call to "/CatalystScripts/ValidationFunctions.js". This does not exist on the site and the 3rd party developer needs access to that actual aspx file or have the full URL path

    Mario,
    I appreciate your response, but I'm not quite sure I understand your

  • How to use BEx or Visual Composer to visualize 3rd party tool data?

    Hello,
    could you give me ideas how to visualize non-SAP warehouse data with BEx or Visual Composer?
    I know that one option is virtual provider with connection to external DW. I do not want to load data into BW.
    Is there any other way? If yes, how it can be done?
    Thanks,

    3.3 Connectivity and Interoperability
    This section briefly describes:
    • The means of connecting Visual Composer Storyboard to the required back-end systems
    • The technology environments to which models composed in Storyboard can be deployed
    Connectivity with Back-End Systems
    Visual Composer provides tools that let you connect via the portal to back-end applications defined in the portal system landscape. This connection enables you to import into your model the relevant function modules on which you want to base your iViews. The imported function modules are referred to as data services.
    Normally, you can connect to any installation of a back-end application to import a data service, and then deploy the content to any portal that enables access to an instance of the same back-end application. However, if the customer installation of the back-end application includes customized function modules, you will need to import the data services in the customer environment, in order to retrieve the customized functions.
    Most connections to back-end systems are accomplished using the SAP and JDBC connectors deployed automatically as part of the connector framework installed with the portal. The SAP connector provides access to R/3 and BW systems, while the JDBC connector provides access to a wide range of databases, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, DB2 and others.
    BI connectors, installed separately in the portal, can be used to access a range of different data, including multidimensional cubes, relational tables and queries. Connectivity is based on defining a system in the portal landscape. You may define systems for the following connections:
    • BI XMLA
    • BI ODBO
    • BI JDBC
    • BI SAP Query
    In addition, you can configure the BW system, installed automatically with the SAP connector, for accessing predefined queries.
    The following table describes the systems from which Visual Composer can import data, and the connectors that are required. The “Connector” (second column) indicates the name of the connector used to install the system in the portal.

  • Using both iPhoto 6 and iPhoto '08 - 3rd party software?

    Hey guys,
    I recently purchased and installed iLife '08. After doing this I tried to run Still Life 2.3.4 This is a program that allows you to zoom and pan across photos for iMovie exactly the way you want. When I tired to run this program and open an old project I was working on, it said that it couldn't find the "rolls" in the iPhoto library where I had my photos stored. The next thing that I tried was to re-import all the photos from iPhoto '08. But Still Life does not even recognize the new library that iLife uses. My question is, is there a way to keep using iPhoto '06 while still keeping the other aspects of iLife '08. Or is there a way that you can have both iPhoto '06 and '08 at the same time? Please just give any advice. Thanks!

    Sorry, I am having trouble posting. Please disregard.

  • Email using my address sent to me from 3rd party

    I don't know the right wording for what just happened to me, but I'm hoping someone can explain it and tell me how to correct it.
    I opened my junkmail and there was an email FROM ME. I thought that was weird since I hadn't sent anything to myself lately. I opened it and it's a pharmaceutical ad for sexual enhancements complete with pictures and a link to the site. I did NOT visit the site, I DON'T visit that kind of site and since I don't have a *****, I know the advertisement was some sort of mass mailing.
    HOW DID THEY USE MY EMAIL ADDRESS??? Are they now using it to send the same crap to my friends? To strangers? Who will now fill my mailbox with CRAP? Do I need to close that precious dotMac account (I hate the dotIT'S ALL ABOUT ME account name.) How do I stop this????
    HELP!!!!

    It is easy for a spammer to forge any field of a message. The email was not sent from your computer or your email address really, the spammer just puts your email as the one listed in the From field of the message. The actual email header will show the IP address where the mail really originated, which is in part how email clients (Mail, Thunderbird, etc) can detect and filter such junk. Some more primitive filtering does not catch this, and for those not using filtering they are more likely to read mail they may be fooled into thinking they sent themselves. Chances are your friends also have been getting emails from 'themselves' in their junk folder too. This is now a very common tactic.

  • SAP XML and SAP IDOC XML

    Hi Friends,
    Can any one tell me what is the difference between SAP XML and SAP IDOC XML?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi,
    Various XML standards are supported by SAP. It presents data according to an SAP specification either in IDoc-XML or BAPI-XML, the SAP XML extensions for IDocs and BAPIs. It uses preprepared representations of the SAP interfaces to XML Commerce Business Language (xCBL) messages to facilitate communication with the MarketSet marketplaces.
    Messages are stored in a generic envelope. This envelope contains metadata that controls, among other things, the routing of the messages. SAP supports two different standards for these envelopes - Microsoft BizTalk and a format similar to Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Packaging SAP BAPIs in a standard envelope offers several advantages, including direct processing of messages by external applications and a uniform system of error handling.

  • Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System

    Hi,
    I downloaded Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System Using MII 12.0
    senario from sdn. I'm trying to do that senario in MII 12.05. But I have problem with section 6 in page 7 (you can supply senario from sdn)
    "6- Under the loop of Repeater, use action u2018Rowu2019 to append just the string part of the WA which will display only values for field u2018Batchu2019"
    I did not find WA elemen in Output element of Repeater_0
    How can I create WA element?
    Thanks.

    Cemil,
    Set up a SAP JCo Interface action block.  Use the RFC name RFC_READ_TABLE.
    In the link editor map the table to "MARA", set RowCount to something small (20 is good sample size) and create an xml transaction property named FIELDS and copy the following into it:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><FIELDS>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>MATNR</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>MTART</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>BSTME</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>XCHPF</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>DATAB</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
        </FIELDS>
    Then link the Transaction.FIELDS to SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/FIELDS}.  You may run into problems with two other fields and optionally they can be removed (set link type to remove xml).  I usually remove them initially for testing.  The two fields are:
    SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/NO_DATA}
    SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/DELIMITER} (or you can set this to something like a semicolon,";" or tilda,"~".  I find it easier to caclulate position by length, but that is my own idiosyncrasy.)
    Once you get this one working, we can explore how to do filtering on the dataset.  Your output should be something like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <RFC_READ_TABLE>
      <INPUT>
        <DELIMITER />
        <NO_DATA />
        <QUERY_TABLE>MARA</QUERY_TABLE>
        <ROWCOUNT>20</ROWCOUNT>
        <ROWSKIPS>0</ROWSKIPS>
      </INPUT>

    Add a repeater sourced on:
    SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Response{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/DATA/item}
    Link your repeater output to a tracer with this:
    Repeater_0.Output{/item/WA}
    What you will see in each tracer message is a single line of data with all the fields contents concatenated together.  You can look up what each field in the string represents by the length of the field as returned in the Response segment of the RFC_READ_TABLE rfc.  Then you can parse out the data you are interested in.
    Give this a try and let me know how you succeeded.
    By the way, I could not find the scenario you referred to.  Can you post a link?

    Mike

  • Mapping XML into 3rd party system using XIF adapter

    Hi Gurus,
    First of all let me thank all of you for a tremondous contribution you are making for these kind of topics(CRM XIF) in SDN. I could solve half my problems by looking into your replies.
    But I have a new & similar problem now. I am able to create and send XML file of order data into 3rd party middleware system using XIF & SOAP framework. But the 3rd party system(business connector) is unable to parse this XML file in their system. They keep getting the error message invalid XML file. I tried testing that myself and it gives me the error 'SOAP-ENV' error. They even tried some workarounds using some SOAP wrappers but it still didn't work. They are asking me to provide a DTD (data type definition) to this XML file generated out of SAP. Not sure if anyone has seen a similar problem like this but our interface is stuck at this point.
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

    Hi,
    We have figured out this problem for ourselves. The 3rd party system gets this error because SAP generated 2 XML tags in the beginning of the XML file which cannot be interpreted by XML spy or many XML parsing software’s. When we deleted the first 2 tags we stopped getting that error. But it wasn't a feasible solution for us to delete the first 2 lines in the XML file and then save it and then parse it. We preferred an alternative approach via IDOC's instead of processing XML files directly. Its also better because the size of XML file is much bigger (15 mega) than Idoc ( max of 4 mega bytes). But if you have to process  XML files only then you cannot do that for real time or near real time processing as the parsing of XML file nearly takes more than 10 min. And it is definitely not preferred way especially if your middleware system has the capability to process Idocs from a middleware architectural stand point.

  • Best approach to read IDOC flatfiles using XI in mass number

    Hi,
    We have a requirement like, we will be provided with IDOC PO flatfile structures(Exactly same as IDOC,but in flatfile format) .
    We have to read those flafiles and create POs in our SAP system.
    please note there is no sender system,will be provided with IDOC structured flatfiles and receiving system is SAP,so I can use IDOC adapter on the recv side.We can use file adapter with FCC ,but as file adapter cannot support multiple heirarchies,I cannot go for sender File Adapter to read those files.
    so what is the best approach to do this interface using XI?
    thank you in advance.
    ..Sri

    Hi
    You could refer the below link for reference
    If you need XI to convert IDOC XML format to IDOC Flat format, refer to:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/xi/xi-how-to-guides/how%20to%20convert%20between%20idoc%20and%20xml%20in%20xi%203.0.pdf
    https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700001795162005E/HowToIDocXMLToFlat.pdf
    (Section 3.2 of the how to guide mentions how to "Convert a flat file representation of an IDoc to IDoc-XML" !!!)
    Converting Idoc flat file representation to XML
    Otherwise creating a flat file from the IDOC XML using the file-content conversion will be very cumbersome.
    If you need the file in the idoc structure itself, I would suggest to create the file in R/3 and poll the file from XI.
    Probably above links could give you some hitch on it
    Thanks

  • Creating IDoc XML and sending to XI

    There is a mechanism to create IDoc XML within SAP ERP through the use of
    Change Pointers in concert with a port of type XML File (WE21). This is well
    documented in this document.
    http://www.erpgenie.com/sap/sapedi/Conversion%20of%20IDOCs%20to%20XML%20format.pdf
    My question is whether the IDoc XML can be generated using Change Pointers and
    the resulting IDoc XML be sent to XI through a RFC Adapter.
    Please don't suggest using an IDoc Adapter. I already know how to do that.
    Thanks
    Vamsi

    Hello Vamsi,
    2)  You need  use Sender File Adapter for this.Not by RFC Adapter
    1)yes, you can generate IDOC-XML using Change pointer
    for better understanding...
    Re: Change pointers trouble
    CHANGE POINTER SAPAPO/C5
    Re: Change pointer issue!!
    If you want to know the basic concepts of Change pointers...Search SDN..you will find lot of info regardin this...
