SAP PI Interface for Multiple Bapi

hi,
i need to expose 2 Bapi (Bapi A and Bapi B) using SAP PI 7.0 using single PI Interface / webservice.
3rd party --> SAP PI -->SAP ECC6.
for first option, i can create new Bapi C and include Bapi A & B new Bapi C.  then only expose BAPI C in SAP PI.
for 2nd Option, i want to import BAPI A & B into SAP PI and used SAP PI capability to run BAPI A & B in sequence.
if i want to go for 2nd option (just use existing BAPI A & B), how to implement the steps to make the bapi can execute in sequence? any link tutorial wil be help me a lot.

Hi Hashim,
try to implement Stefan approach or even you can try below appraoch,
call BAPI A using SAP PI, then cal BAPI B within BAPI A logic, here you need to import only BAPI A in to PI system.
better to take help from ABAPer, he will help you on the same.

  • User Interface for Multiple Sensors

    Hi all,
I want to create an application where in i should be able to acquire data for Accelerometer, pressure, strain, LVDT and Temperature sensors. I want to create a Font Panel as shown in the attachment, i should configure any of the sensors by selecting the check box. Please find the attachment.
I created the prototype design using NI Signal Express, i am not able to customize the Step Set-up window as per my requirements(Shown in the attachment).
Any help regarding how to go about it, whether in LabVIEW or in Signal Express. I would be really glad if you any ideas.

You can certainly do what you want in LV, but you all have to create the UI manually. Beyond that, this configuration dialog is just another LabVIEW program.
What exactly is the problem you are having? I can't open your code because NI still hasn't released the beta version of LabVIEW 2015 for Android.
    Mike..
PS: Yes, the comment about LabVIEW 2015 is a joke! Unless of course there really is an Android version coming, in which case I just amazed myself...

  • Using Ciscoworks to update netmask on mgmt interface for multiple switches

Is it possible to user Ciscoworks LMS 3.2 to update the netmask for a management interface on multiple switches? For example, say I have a 3750 access switch management network, 172.28.185.0/27 (default gateway 172.28.185.1) that we're resizing to a /26. Is there a simple way to update just the netmask for the management interface on those devices using Netconfig?
    -David

Unfortunately not.  You could use Netconfig or even baseline compliance for this, but since you need to know each interface's IP, that means you'd have to create parameterized templates.  Therefore, you would have to create a template "answer" file for each device in this subnet which had their IP address for the interface in question.
Baseline compliance might be a little easier with a template like:
    Commandlet : CheckIP
    IsPrereq : Yes
    Submode : interface [#.*Ethernet.*#]
    + ip address [#172.58.185.\d+#] 255.255.255.224
    Commandlet : ReplaceIP
    Parent : CheckIP
    + ip address [IP] 255.255.255.192
You would still need to provide a value for [IP] for each device when performing a deployment.

  • Pros & Cons of Using SAP PI Interfaces for Report Generation

    Hi Guru's
    I have a Scenario's like
I have to generate a customized report in SAP with the main data's available in SAP ECC and some required data available in the Legacy System.
I want to know the Pros & cons of using SAP PI RFC/Proxy adapter interface to get the data from the legacy system for each time the user execute the report in SAP ECC.
    Thanks in Advance

There are couple of "dimensions" to consider in your PI interface design. For exemple when you are running the sizing exercise (Since we are considering adding a net new interface), you will need to capture specific information about new interface.i.e. S/A, adapters, frequency, avg payload size. etc..Note that the last two attributes will be hard to size properly in this case since you can't predict how frequent the end user will run the report which will impact the latency time required to pull the data. Latency will affect the user experience as visible side affect and definitely the SLA for other interfaces running at the same time.
On the other hand, the data you are trying to retrieve from the legacy won't be used for transactional purpose but for the end user to pull KPIs from the system which can affect ECC as well. You may end up doing lot hot fixes for your report (Assuming that the report is a medium complexity code)
There are other factors to consider but let's consider these are the major one.

  • One user interface for multiple VIs

I searched and searched for an answer to this so if it's out there please direct me to it.
I have an application that has roughly 10 different VIs.  These VIs are virtually the same.  All they are doing is monitoring data for the operator for instance: Temperatures, Pressures, Vibrations, etc.,.  I would like to implement a user interface where the operator could click on a button at the bottom of the screen that would take them to the temperature screen.  Once the temperature screen is displayed, I would like to be able to click on a different button that goes to the Pressure screen.  In other words, I want the operator to be able to access any screen they want from any screen they are currently viewing.  So all the buttons would be at the bottom of every screen.  And any screen would be able to access any other screen.  I just have not found a good way to do this.  Every thing I've tried always ends up coming back to a "main.vi".
    Multiple answers are welcome!  Thanks.

Do you need to have a SAP portal to use HR-OCI 6.0?  Do you also need to use ESS or MSS?  We are on SAP ECC 6.0.  We currently don't have a SAP portal, but we are looking into using HR-OCI to extract the Organizational Chart for a third party vendor.  Is this still possible?

  • WLC 5508 Multiple Interfaces for Multiple SSIDs

    Hello guys,
I am trying to build a new network from scratch, I have the WLC 5508 w/ Aironet 3600e APs connected to my Netgear Smart Switches and a Linksys RV082 router that I'm using as my DHCP server with several VLANs for several stuff on my Switches.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. Can I have 5 Interfaces configured on 5 different VLANs, each SSID on each a different Port:
    Port 1: Controller management only=> 192.168.x.x /24
Port 2: SSID 1: WiFi Internal=> 172.16.x.x/12 (Radius Auth with no sharing)
Port 3: SSID 2: WiFi Internal w/ sharing=> 192.168.x.x/24 (Radius Auth with sharing)
    Port 4 :SSID 3: WiFi Guest=> 10.0.x.x/8 (Web Auth)
Port 5: SSID 4: WiFi IT=> 192.168.x.x/24 ( Radius or certificate Auth with access to the controller management interface)
    2. How can I use the Controller as the DHCP server for all the WiFi traffic, and how should that be configured to work with my other DHCP server?

Yes you can... but you have to disable LAG.  Each post will need to be connected to a dot1q trunk and you will only allow the vlan that is required for that port.  Also on the interface, you will define what port is primary and what is backup.  I'm guessing you will not be using the backup port.  For example... port 1 that connects to a trunk port will only allow the management vlan.  Here is a link to setup dhcp on the WLC

  • Tcode BDBG - Generate ALE Interface for BAPI

    Hi All,
I'm trying to generate an ALE interface for the BAPI - BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI for my LSMW project, for which I have created a bespoke object in SWO1 (ZBUS), but each time I try to generate the ALE interface for the BAPI I get the error as follows -
Segment Z1BPBUS20001_HEADER_INS is used multiple times in IDoc types
    Message no. EA799
    Diagnosis
Segment type Z1BPBUS20001_HEADER_INS is used multiple times in the IDoc type. A segment type may only be used once in each IDoc type.
I agree, segment BAPIBUS20001_HEADER_INS is used more than once in BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI for the HEADER and CREATED_PROCESS tables, so is there any alternate solution to it?
I have also tried running BDBG for BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI, and I get athe same error message as above for the segment - BAPIBUS20001_APPOINTMENT_INS - but I cannot see this segment being used anywhere else except for tables DATE.
    Kind regards,
    Arijit Das

    Hi Suresh,
    thanks for your reply.
Method of BAPI has not been deleted,
but message type, idoc type and FM for Outbound processing.
These objects are within SAP namespace, so recreation will not work.

  • Making BDBG Easy (Generate ALE Interface for BAPI)

    <b>Making BDBG Easy</b>
Transaction BDBG is used to generate an ALE interface for SAP standard or custom developed BAPIs. Once a BAPI is given an ALE interface, it can be used in LSMW for migrating data or just as another IDoc. Quite a few SAP standard BAPIs cannot be used in LSMW as they do not come with an ALE interface. OSS note Documentation on Transaction BDBG (note number 125776) details the necessary steps to use transaction BDBG but it does not comprehensively cover the technical issues that one may encounter in order to create an ALE interface.
BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI, which is used to create Activities in CRM, will be used to illustrate a step-by-step approach to using transaction BDBG.
Go to Object Navigator (transaction SE80) and create a bespoke function group, we will call ours Z_CRM_ACTIVITY. Activate it.
Then go to Function Builder (transaction SE37), and copy the BAPI to a bespoke function module. Thus, BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI is copied to Z_BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI and assigned to the function group that we created in the previous step – Z_CRM_ACTIVITY. Edit the bespoke function module, go to the Attributes tab, and release the function module (<i>Menu Path – Function Module >> Release >> Release</i>). Now activate the function module.
IDoc segment types have a maximum length of 27 characters. Each associated type for the Parameters (tabs – Import, Export, Changing, and Tables) in a BAPI becomes a segment in the IDoc. Thus, an associated type in a BAPI cannot exceed 27 characters. During the ALE generation process anything beyond the 27th character gets truncated. This leads to more than 1 segment being called the same, and as a result an error occurs when the ALE interface is generated in the final step as an IDoc cannot have the same segment twice.
Eg: Table parameters DATE and DATEX correspond to types BAPIBUS20001_APPOINTMENT_INS (28 characters long) and BAPIBUS20001_APPOINTMENT_INSX (29 characters) respectively.
Also, a developer does not have the option to reduce the segment name during the ALE generation process. So in order to have an error free ALE generation happening in the end, bespoke associated types need to be created and assigned to our bespoke BAPI.
Go to ABAP Dictionary (transaction SE11), and create ZXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX data types for the structures in the BAPI that are greater than 27 characters. Activate all these bespoke structures.
Bespoke structures – ZBAPIBUS20001_APP_INS and ZBAPIBUS20001_APP_INSX can be used in lieu of the standard SAP ones for parameters DATE and DATEX. The same correction method needs to take place for other excessively long types, like the types being referenced by LOCATION and LOCATIONX.
Go to Business Object Builder (transaction SWO1). A search for Activity as the short description produces a few hits. After examining all the objects returned in the hit, we see that BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI belongs to 2 Business Objects - BUS2000110 (CRM Activity) and BUS2000126 (CRM Business Activity).
Copy either of these objects to a bespoke object ZXXXXXXXXX, we will copy BUS2000110 and rename it to ZBUS200010, program RBUS2000110 should also be copied to a Z version (ZRBUS2000110), and the object name can be changed to Company Name (eg: XXX) followed by ActivityCRM (XXXActivityCRM).
Now we edit our bespoke object, and create a method for it by placing the mouse cursor on methods in the object type tree and clicking the create button on the menu bar.
A pop-up appears on the screen with the following text –
    <i>Create with function module
    as template? </i>
After clicking on Yes, another pop-up asks for a function module to be entered, enter the bespoke function module Z_BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI here and click the tick button.
Accept all the default values in the next pop-up – Create Method: Method Properties, and do the same for the next pop-up – Create Method: Create Parameters. In the next pop-up click Yes to the question –
    <i>Method ZBAPIACTIVITYCRMCREATEMULTI not
    yet implemented
Do you want to generate a template
    automatically for the missing section?</i>
Double-click on the newly created method and go to the ABAP tab, the Function Module option will be selected as the default, make the API function as the default and click OK. Generate the business object.
Now, click on the method of the object and release the method (<i>Menu Path – Edit >> Change Release Status >> Object Type Component >> To Released</i>). Double-click on the method to confirm that the Status is released.
Save all the changes made, and Back out of the Edit mode and go the main Business Object Builder screen. Re-generate the business object. First implement, then release the main object ZBUS200010 (<i>Menu Path – Object Type >> Change Release Status To >> Implemented, then follow the same menu path and click on Released</i>).
Go to the BAPI Explorer (transaction BAPI), click on the filter icon on the menu bar, and select radiobutton – All. Click on the alphabetical tab. Look for XXXActivityCRM in the list. Release status should be Released for this object.
Now we should be able to generate the ALE interface for the BAPI. Execute transaction BDBG, enter the bespoke object (ZBUS200010), do a drop down on the method field and select the bespoke method from the list. Click on the create button on the menu bar. In the first pop-up accept Message Type ZBAPIACTIVITYCRM and click OK. In the next pop-up the following values should be there by default –
    IDoc type – ZBAPIACTIVITYCRM01,
    ALE Outbound Processing
    Function Module – ZZ_ALE_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI,
    Function Group – Z_CRM_ACTIVITY, and
    ALE Inbound Processing
    Function Module – ZIDOC_INPUT_ZBAPIACTIVITYCRM,
    Function Group – Z_CRM_ACTIVITY.
The option – Call in update task – should be ticked.
Now our BAPI has an ALE Interface to it and can be used in conjunction with either the BAPI or IDoc option in LSMW. The default values for an IDoc Inbound Processing should be maintained in order to use the bespoke BAPI / IDoc.

  • SAP ECC 6.0 - Using BAPIs for C# to extract data out

I have had a client recommend a strategy of extracting data usin C# (Visual Studio 2005) to extract data from SAP ECC using BAPIs.
We do have an existing methodology in place using flat files to extract data to non SAP systems
We have purchase XI which we intend to implement next year.
I basically wanted to keep things tidy and continue with the flat file interface strategy just to keep things simple going forward to XI.
THen there is also the security piece, the developer has had to slowly build a profile / roles that alows him to come in thru visual studio to access these BAPIs
I am looking for anyone who has had experience with this and what your experiences are.  As well, what are the SAP best practicies concerning this strategy
Thank YOU ALL who will reply

I think that SAP's strategy toward exposing BAPI is leaning toward leveraging their AS-JAVA stack.  With the AS-JAVA Enterprise Services and standard delivered web content, SAP is already exposing many existing BAPI/Business Functionality outside of the ABAP world.   However, that's not saying that traditional flat files have no place in the future.  Matter of fact, I don't see flat/delimited files going away any time soon.
It all really comes down to what you are doing, you may even end up with a landscape that's a mix of files/RFCs.  Here inhouse, we leverage file based transfers for large data sets such as SAP BI OHS extracts, and daily R/3 FI extracts.  Why file?  because it's simple, easy to control, and you can see the data being transferred.  A file can be "hold in my hands" if you will, at best there's just a few characters in-flight.
As for RFCs, any type of RFCs in fact (Anything from sap .net connector to AS-JAVA ESOA Based ES), are basically designed for transactional data.  Here, you are looking at things that are high in transactional count but small in individual size.  Your client's call using C#, it all really depends on how you are doing it.  MOST IMPORTANTLY:  Make sure you are using a proven, standarized, and SAP supported way, PERIOD.  NEVER EVER go into production with a "hack".
For the high-transactional-count-small-individual transactions, we leverage BizTalk Server (BTS) here.  I'll be frank, we are not using BTS because we wrote it.  We are using BTS because it just works better for us, in our environment.  BTS now support SAP 2.0 connector (registered program ID) and SAP 3.0 (WCF based, direct SAP RFC call, supported by Microsoft AND SAP).  We are leveraging these adapters and BTS (as distribution and transformation) in our environment more and more.
So, long story short:  Determine the transaction type, multiple solutions is ok, make sure the solution is supported!

  • How to Configure Cisco ASA 5512 for multiple public IP interfaces

    Hi
I have a new ASA 5512 that I would like to configure for multiple public IP support.  My problem may be basic but I am an occasional router admin and don't touch this stuff enough to retain everything I have learned.
Here is my concept.    We have a very basic network setup using three different ISPs that are currently running with cheap routers for internet access.  We use these networks to open up access for Sales to demo different products that use a lot of bandwidth (why we have three)
I wanted to use the 5512 to consolidate the ISPs so we are using one router to manage the connections.  I have installed an add on license that allows multiple outside interfaces along with a number of other features.
Outside Networks (I've changed the IPs for security purposes)
    Outside1 E 0/0 : 74.55.55.210  255.255.255.240 gateway 74.55.55.222
    Outside2 E 0/2: 50.241.134.220 255.255.248 gateway 50.241.134.222
    Inside1 : E 0/1 192.168.255.1 255.255.248.0
    Inside2 : E 0/3 172.16.255.1 255.255.248.0
My goal is to have Inside 1 route all internet traffic using Outside1 and Inside 2 to use Outside2.    The problem is I can't seem to do this. I can get inside 1 to use outside 1 but Inside2 uses Outside 1 as well.
I tried adding static routes on Outside2 to have all 172.16.248.0/21 traffic use gateway 50.241.134.222 but that doesn't seem to work.
I can post my config up as needed.  I am not well versed in Cisco CLI, I've been using the ASDM 7.1 app.  My ASA 5512 is at 9.1.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions/help

I have been away for a while and am just getting caught up on some posts. so my apology for a delayed response.
I find the response very puzzling. It begins by proclaiming that to achieve the objective we must use Policy Based Routing. But then in the suggested configuration there is no PBR. What it gives us is two OSPF processes using one process for each of the public address ranges and with some strange distribute list which uses a route map. I am not clear what exactly it is that this should accomplish and do not see how it contributes to having one group of users use one specific ISP and the other group of users use the other ISP>
    To the original poster
It seems to me that you have chosen the wrong device to implement the edge function of your network. The ASA is a good firewall and it does some routing things. But fundamentally it is not a router. And to achieve what you want were a group of users will use a specified ISP and the other group of users will use the other ISP you really need a router. You want to control outbound traffic based on the source of the traffic, and that is a classic situation where PBR is the ideal solution. But the ASA does not do PBR.

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same Citrix server

    Hi,
In my previous endeavours to solve this business requirement where multiple users will be able to use the Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP pages inside SAP to PDF, I was told that it is not possible to do this for multiple users at the same time. However I have found an article according to which it says it is possible. Could you check it once and let me know if this article can be used for implementing the requirement stated above as this link clearly indicates that Adobe Acrobat is supported on Citrix.
Please find the link below where it states it is adobe acrobat is supported in Citrix for multiple users.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html.

    1. What is the Acrobat feature that you mean? There's nothing specific to SAP included with Acrobat.
    2. Yes, some Terminal Server configurations appear supported (check carefully). All users of the terminal server will need a license, so far as I know - total licenses = total individual people using.
