SAP Self Service Vs Sucessfactor.

Dear Experts,
Can someone provide how ESS&MSS functionality can be achieved in Successfactor.
Below are the quires
The scope and span of self-service in Successfactor
The limits to self-service in Successfactor
Anticipated administrative overhead to manage self-service in sucessfactor  and users e.g. password resets, queries
How leave request can handled in Success factor?

Vinodh

Hi Juan,
Since the Web Dynpro versions for ESS, Training area is not integrated. That was replaced with Learning Solution (LSO), what alsomore, include new functionality, like manage e-Learning courses with SCORM standards. But take in count that LSO requires and additional license to operate in productive systems.
So what can you do?
1. Include the old apps in your Web Dynpro Portal (to prebook/request/cancel a participation and review the status). For this, add the PV7I and PV8I transactions, by using transaction or IAC iViews templates
2. For licensed LSO users, you have to download the Business Package for Learning, then make it accesible to users by adding the Role. Please check:
Business Package for Learning (SAP ERP) 1.0
To finish and be clear, e-Learning is only supported in LSO.
Kind regards

    Hi,
Click on SDN Community on the top Navigation Panel

You can find Portal Content Portfolio, Click on it.
In new window you can find Business Packages
We have three types of categories:
    1) Business Packages for Every User
    2) Business Packages for Managers.
    3) Business Packages for Specialist.
When you click on any of Categories, you can find related to that categories of Business Packages.
Click on Download then it will ask for Service Marketplace id and password.

  • SSO to SAP EP6 (for Employee Self Service) using WebSEAL

    Hi SDN friends,
We are about to embark on a SSO implementation using IBM WebSEAL for SAP EP6 ESS (Employee Self Service) connecting through to an SAP R/3 4.7 server.  Since the ESS solution for 4.7 still uses ITS services, this means that we have ITS iViews in the EP6 portal.
We have managed to look through the whitepaper 'IBM Tivoli Access Manager - Single Sign On for SAP NetWeaver - September 2005' described at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/ibm
We have the following queries, if anybody has a simple answer to these:
    -  Is it absolutely necessary to configure an SNC connection between ITS/EP6 and R/3 server to achieve SSO for the portal?
    -  Given that SAP EP6 references ITS IAC iviews, is it necessary for us to configure both ITS and EP6 for SSO, or can we simply configure EP6 for SSO?  If so, is it also necessary to configure both for SSL?
    -  Otherwise, how easy is it to set up SSO in this scenario without SSL (for demo purposes)?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    John Moy

    Hello John,
    regarding your questions:
ad 1) no. SNC is only mandatory if you use X.509-based SSO to R/3. You can also use SAP logon ticket-based SSO from EP to R/3 or usermapping that do both not require SNC.
ad 2) yes, you have to configure both EP and ITS at WebSeal.
ad 3) you can always omit SSL. However for production use, it is recommended.

  • HR Renewal Self Services Integration Issue with SAP Portal

    Hi,
We are  Implementing  HR Renewal 2.0 FP1 and the Self-Services Landing Page to be launched from within SAP Portal.
I have imported the PFCG role ZSAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_XX_UI5_1  into portal and assigned to the user. The End User read permission is provided.
We see the landing page with all lanes coming up fine when launched from portal. • Performance Optimization Self Service- SAP help requirement

    Hi,
I want to know whether for SAP's help is required for performing the self service of Performance Optimization.
If we collect ST12 trace and use it to perform the self service then is the report which is generated from the self service sufficient to take further action or will I need some SAP expertise to implement / take corrective actions?
In short, whether I can do the Performance Optimization by myself or I need help from SAP?
    Regards,
    Vishal

    hi,
    1) Is this service available to all the customer? (by all the customers I mean "Max Attention", "Enterprise Support" etc)
i answer this above is it, from mz above reply, have you checked
enterprise support customers can get five EGI sessions as free per year. please check
    http://service.sap.com/esacademy
    - click browse egis
for your second question also I answered above
Does the report itself gives suggestions or we need to provide the report to SAP
    here my reply above
because Guided procedure itself the proven methodlogy from SAP, the report provides the lots of suggestions against the SAP best practices.
you can use it yourself most of the time. if still you need expert guidance from SAP, book for EGI sessions. they called as expert guided implementations, remote support. duration might vary based on the session.
again, service report is the source, you have to review yourself, if you are in EGI, sap use that report for guiding. Please review
    Thanks

  • SAP IdM - Self Service password reset

    Hi All
Has anyone configured the Self-service password reset option yet?
I have a question that the documentation doesn't answer. We plan on using the IdM on our SAP landscape which would involve at least 9 seperate systems, meaning the Dev, QA and Prod systems for BW 3.5, CRM 2007 & ECC.
My question is if we have a user that has access to all these systems, but only needs to reset their password in 1 of them. How does the Self-service password reset option know which system that user's id is locked in or would it be resetting the password in every one of the systems?
    Ken

That's right. Users would have to repeat the same process if they want to change the password for say 2 systems out of the 9. Its a quick and easy way to get it up and running without much customization.
But if you want to eliminate this repetition, the ideal way would be to customize the UI (some thig like this which comes as part of RDS)
    Cheers,
    Murali.

  • SAP GRC Compliant User Provisioning (CUP) Password Self Service

    Hello everyone,
I am setting up Password Self Service within CUP.  For those users that do not already have access to the UME frontend, I know that I need to create a user ID in the UME frontend for each user so that they can access the Password Self Service option.  Since I only want the user to access the Password Self Service option, what UME role do I assign to them to ensure that they cannot access anything else within CUP?
    Thank you!
    Johonna

    Johonna,
The 3 defined roles are only those suggested by SAP.
You can create your own roles by assigning the various actions as needed to provide access or restrict as your organisation requires.
However, depending on your patch level, you may find that certain actions are dependant on others to work properly.
Also, you either grant access to the functionality or not. There is no partial or display only setting in the java stack.
    Enjoy!

  • SAP - Process of self-service

    Hi,
    Hello,
    Requirements: (regarding SAP R3)
    A) To allow the end user to request for an account directly from OIM Web Console.
    B) To allow the end user to request for modifications on its account such as Role and so on.
We currently already have the OIM provisioning accounts to SAP via Access Policies through SAP UM Connector. All is working fine.
Now we want to let the end user to request its own account when it applies.
For the requirement A I have no problem, but I am no sure on what to do for the requirement B.
Can i achieve this through the same provisioning process?
Doing some testes I noticed that when I was trying to request for a Role modification (B) the resource did not appear on the list.
I had to check the checkbox Allow Multiples for the resource to appear, but then the provisioning process failed trying to create the account that already existed.
My expectation was that it would already "know" that the account already existed and would only modify the Role as requested.
So if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Elso

    Hi,
I think I didn’t manage to explain my problem very well.
The SAP R3 is working without problems, all provisioning takes place ok for some months now.
What I’m implementing right now is the self service for this resource. For example:
-Today I enter the OIM web console, in My Resources -> Request New Resources and request the SAP R3 resource and a profile. When I do this request, in order for provisioning to take place, some people must approve – this is working well.
-Let’s say a few weeks from now, I need a new SAP R3 profile. I return to the OIM web console, and if the “Allow Multiples” option in Resource Objects is not selected, the resource is not shown.
With the “Allow Multiples” option selected the resource is shown in the list, enabling me to request the SAP R3 resource again with another profile. I request this new profile for SAP R3 and this new process passes through the approval process without problems and when the last approver gives consent, OIM tries to provision the resource, but as this resource was already provisioned an exception is thrown, because the account has already been created in SAP.
What I need is for the user to be able to request the SAP R3 resource several times and that on the first request the resource is provisioned and on the subsequent requests (should they happen) what the user requested is appended to the already provisioned resource.
    Thanks,
    Elso

  • Customer Self Service via SAP Internet Sales

This is my first time posting on the SDN, so please forgive my ignorance if this is in the wrong place.  We at Bentley have taken on the massive task of implementing a customer self service solution replacing our Siebel installation.  We are still mapping out how things will work and how it will be architected, but wanted to know if anyone in the community has any white papers on how the security architecture is supposed to look.  Here is our challenges:
    1.  Utilizing multiple info sources including BW (for reporting), CRM (for customer information and sales placement), R/3 (for invoice queries), and many .NET applications.
    2.  Supporting over 300k contacts each with a desire to maintain their own user base.
    3.  Currently utilizing the portal.
Again, we are trying to integrate all above to provide a solid solution for our customers.  SAP Internet Sales looks like a viable option, but that obviously would require a user master record in each SAP system (300k in each?) to support the hierarchy above for reporting, queries, and data entry.
Has anyone else in the community successfully implemented a similiar solution, and if so.. Would you be willing to share some ideas with us?
    Many Kind Regards,
    Wayne Miller

    Thanks!
Looking at your profile, I assume you may be able to help. I have Portal connected to my ECC system. We have loaded the latest UCES on the portal and configured XCM. Restarted the J2EE system. Everything seems to be ok, as I can do the connection tests from Portal (JCO) and ECC (RFC).
    When i launch the page - http://portal.com:50000/bdisu - i get the following error -
A general problem has occurred within the logon. The error message is: .
I dont know how to fix it. I created a message with SAP and they said some config need to be done on the backend, while the functional guys are not aware of any. Can you please guide me to fix this error?

  • Open UI error no self service but only monitoring

    hi,
i meet a problem when i open idm url, there is only monitoring tab but not self service. i guess i forgot some thingss when installing. my intall environment is following:
    windows2008
    SQL 2005 database
jdbc driver 1.1 for sql 2005
    sap nw 7.01 sp3
    sap idm 7.1 sp5
    jre 1.5
    my install steps as follow:
    1. install sql 2005 and sql native client.
    2. install nw 7.01 sp3
    3. install jdbc
    4. install jco
    5. update environment value class path(add JDBC .jar) and java home (add jre path and jvm path which appears after IC installation)
    6. intall nw idm 7.1 ic /runtime
    7. configure idm user interface

I think the user that you are using doesn't have the proper privileges. You should create a user in the Enterprise People Store with Manager Privileges and then use this user to log on to SAP IDM. Then you should be able to see all the other tabs.
Alternatively you can use a ToIdentityStore pass to assign your user the  privileges for the different tabs.

Thank for you reply and correct me if I am wrong.
Sanjay, I have raised the issue with SAP, in the mean while if you can please let me know the patches or a list of them that are requried thyat would be awesome. Sorry for asking you this, but the basis team here asks to tell them what is requried even though I do not have sufficient authorizations to check them.
