  • Difference between SAP support releases and SAP support package stacks ?

    Hi,
Lets take SAP R3 Enterprise 47x200 (my company) as an example.
Looks like there is SAP R3 Enterprise 47x200 release (from release notes) and SAP R3 Enterprise 47x200 SR1 (support release 1).
And there are support package stacks for this release.
What are the differences/similarities between these two ?
Where can I find some document which explains these things as a whole ?
There is enchancement packages introduced in SAP ERP 6.0, how EHP's relate to those two above ?
    thanks

  • SAP Support package information request

    Hi,
after some time in my company are considering to upgrade from:
    - SAP ERP 6.0, SP 8
    - SAP Netweaver 7, SP 13
    to
    - SAP ERP EHP4 6.0, SP 4
    - SAP Netweaver 7, SP 20.
So, in the first case we have to apply an enhancement, in the second to apply a major level of support package.
I would like to know - in advance for both systems - the object lists that will be affected by these changes.
    How can I do?
Can anyone please tell me where I can get this information.
    Thanks,
    Giuseppe

    >
You should upgrade your netweaver to EHP1 level if you are upgrading ERP 6.0 to EHP4. It is not recommended to have nw on 7.00 release if you are upgrading ECC to EHP4.
Also, objects which will be effected that you can check in table TADIR.

    Hi Asif,
How to get particular support package from service market place .
    EX:SAPKB70011
If you want to download the patch SAPKB70011:
Service Market Please --> Downloads --> SAP Support Packages --> Search for Support Package and Patches.
At the search field, enter SAPKB7001* it will give you all the support package from SAPKB70010 to SAPKB70019 if available.
You can add the required patch to your download manager.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Question about SAP Support pagackes

    Hi all
I am trying to understand more about SAP Support packages. Can anyone please help me to answer the following questions.
    1. How do we find out  waht version of Support package currently installed on our system. ( e.g what command or transaction provides this info).
    2. How do we find the latest support pack available from SAP?
    3.   Do we have to apply support pack to each component or to each module e.t.c
        ( Any command or tranaction....)
    4.  What is a  differnce between SAP kernel support pack and SAP Note.
    5. Is it requirement to  apply support package from SAP solutaion manager or can also be applied throught transaction
    Thank you very much....

    Hi Julio,
    1. How do we find out waht version of Support package currently installed on our system. ( e.g what command or transaction provides this info).
Go to Txn SPAM --> Click on Package Level --> Check the level against SAP_BASIS or SAP_ABA
    2. How do we find the latest support pack available from SAP?
    http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks --> SP Stack Information
    3. Do we have to apply support pack to each component or to each module e.t.c
    ( Any command or tranaction....)
There will be support packs for each component like SAP_BASIS,SAP_ABA,SAP_BW .. etc and you can apply them through SPAM.
    4. What is a differnce between SAP kernel support pack and SAP Note.
Kernels are central program that are required to run SAP system and these programs reside in OS level.Kernel support pack means correction to these cental programs .There is no transaction for this. You can replace the existing files with the new one ( in simple words ) . SAP note means correction to SAP programs , more than one SAP note is called a Support pack and Note can be implemented using SNOTE and Support packs using SPAM
    5. Is it requirement to apply support package from SAP solutaion manager or can also be applied throught transaction
Now you need Solution Manager to download Support packs from SMP.You can apply SPs in the target system without using Solman.
    Thanks

  • Support Package Level

    Hi:
How can I find a difference between Support Package level 111 and 140 for SAP ECC 6.0.
    I would appreciate help.
    Thanx

    Check
    http://service.sap.com/patches
--> SAP Support Packages in Detail
In the new Window you can generate a "side effect report" that will show you implications.
Another way is to click on the name of the support package in the download area and you will see all the notes that are contained in that support package.

Can anybody tell me which support package of netweaver 2004s ist identical (for example has the same version of jndi-provider) to support package 19 of netweaver '04?

    Go to service.sap.com
Software download-> SAP Support package->SAP Support package stack--->
Select 04 or 04s or whatever patches you need to down load.
Select the usage type which ever required.
If it is 04 follow this procedure:
Download te following file from service markeplace
    CTRLMSSxx_0-20001822.SAR
    J2EERTxx_0-10001982.SAR
    J2EERTOSxx_0-20001822.SAR

After Uncarring two folders will be generated.

You can uncar these files anywhere. Only thing is you have to run the sapinst present within the SAPINST-CD folder.
For 04s download the SCA's and patch using JSPM.

  • Release BI 7.0 front-end add-on for SAP GUI 7.10, Support Package 700

    Hi guys,
In SAP note 1238872 the release of new support package has been mentioned (Quote: "Download the BI 7.0 front-end add-on for SAP GUI 7.10, Support Package 700 from the SAP Service Marketplace.")
So, can someone tell me, when this Support Package will be released?
(At the moment the last version provided in download area is 6.02)
    Kind regards
    Markus

Thanks, but my question was not how can I workaround, cause I was able to read that note. (Unfortunatly the workaround solves the problem for the query designer only and the error still persists when executing the query)
However, can some one please tell me, when the Support Package 7.00 will be released?

  • Official Support from SAP on Support package levels

I have NW7 Dual stack system. Currently at SP10
Looking for an "official Policy" on supported SP levels from SAP, if it exists already. Please help me by providing a link that information or a document if it exists.
We are working on an ongoing infrastructure support policy for this installation.
    Thanks in advance.
    Vasu

You can run a certain level of support packages as long as you can live with the "deficiencies" resulting out of that. You can run on the initial installed level if you can deal with the fact, that you will need to apply a LOT of notes in case you run into an error (because of dependent notes because of the low support package level).
There may also be cases where it´s impossible to provide a correction by note (e. g. table changes) and where corrections can only be delivered by support packages.
Last but not least the law may force you to install a certain level (e. g. fiscal year change) to get the newest (and correct) data out of the system for all kinds of changes that may be necessary to comply the law.
Basically you can leave your system on a certain support package as long as you wish but it may become difficult or even impossible to give you a solution if more than an ABAP code correction is necessary.
This is especially true on dual stack systems where a change in the portal may force you to upgrade your complete backend to a certain level because there the ABAP + Java stack must be in sync --> one of the reasons why we totally avoid dual stack installations.

  • How to import Support Package 13(SAPKW70013) for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI

    Hi,
How to import Support Package 13 for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI (BI Patch 13 or SAPKW70013)
Note no for that is : 1019055.
    Thanks in Adavance,
    Dushyant.

    Hi,
RTC for BI 7.0 SAP_BW SP 13 is scheduled in CW 21, that is coming week, after that you should be able to download it from service market place.
@others: Dont get confused about SPS release with SP release. BI has intermediate release which is SP release, SPS is SP-Stack release (which is NetWeaver release).
SP 12 correspond to SPS 12 which is sceduled CW 21.
    Hope this helps.
