  • SAP TAX is updated OK, Vertex is missing 2 weeks of tax data from SAP

    Hello FI Gurus,
We have an issue where Vertex data are not updating for two weeks.  Although when running report "RFYTXDISPLAY" all indicated that documents were updated to external system.  We are mssing 2 weeks of data on the Vertext side.  Does anyone know if there is a way to manually update SAP billing with tax to Vertex so it can be recorded?
    Thanks in advance,
    HarryT

Would need more detail on whether this is the last two weeks and issue still persists or if it was for only 2 weeks and everything now is fine.
If the RFYTXDISPLAY/ TRFC Queue is clear(unblocked), make sure that the transactions are listed in the queue by doc #.
How do you know the items aren't in Vertex?
You wouldn't be able to duplicate in SAP to write taxes to Vertex.  It would throw off your G/L.
If you still have issues, I'd call Vertex support 800-281-1900

  • Can SAP tax procedure be set up for both internal and external ?

    Hi all,
Hoping to get some help from you here.
Our current SAP system is set up with internal tax procedure, and we are planning to use Vertex as the external tax system. However, due to phase approach, we are planning to launch Vertex for part of the company codes and the rest of the company codes will stay with internal tax procedure. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

  • Third Party Tax System and SAP-ISU FICA

    Hello Experts,
We are implementing SAP solution for north american utility company. We are using SABRIX to calculate FI / SD invoice taxes. We want to use SABRIX for CR&B(ISU) invoices also. I know about below configuration:
SPRO > Financial Accounting (New) > Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) > Tax on Sales/Purchases > Basic Settings > External Tax Calculation > Activate External Tax Calculation
I checked few other config documents and found RFC function module "RFC_CALCULATE_TAXES_DOC" . According to config document if I execute this function module with RFC Target sys = "SABRIX" & with required parameters then system (FM) will return me tax amount (by calling SABRIX). Now, this function module doesn't contain CR&B document specific parameters such "contract account (FKKVKP-VKONT)" but this function module is very specific to FI / SD document that's why it has parameters ex. "ACCNT_NO - Vendor or ship-to customer account number".
So my first question is - 1) Do we have separate RFC to calculate taxes for CR&B FICA document? Which RFC gets triggered during ISU Invoicing?
    2) If there is no separate RFC to differentiate between CR&B document and normal FI/SD document then can we use RFC already provided by SAP? do we need to create our custom RFC?
    3) I need to assign tax jurisdiction code on the connection object without any manual intervention using address details. But I am not able to find standard config that can call SABRIX RFC during connection object creation to update Jurisdiction Code details.
Example - for the business partner I can pass address details to fetch jurisdiction code from the SABRIX using below config:
SPRO > Cross-Application Components > SAP Business Partner > Business Partner > Basic Settings > Tax Jurisdictions > Using Non-SAP Tax Software > Define RFC Destination for Tax Software
So is there any other standard way to update jurisdiction code on the connection object?
Any information would be of great help. Thanks.

  • Difference between SAP PSCD and tax and Revenue management

    Hi All,
I am new to SAP industry solutions for public sector and am actually trying to understand the new systems. Can anyone please tell me the difference between SAP PSCD and SAP Tax and Revenue management ? Please revert.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shakuntala

    Hi Shakuntala,
PSCD is an industry add-on on top of SAP ERP FI-CA (Contract Accounting), which is part of SAP ERP Core.
Tax & Revenue Management is a Public Sector industry solution, which utilizes PSCD to enable some of its key processes (e.g. account management and collection management). However, TRM as a business solution also make use of other modules and systems (e.g. CRM).
The initial development of PSCD was strongly driven by Tax&Revenue Management, therefore people usually have hard time to differentiate between the two terms. But now PSCD is also used by and enhanced for other SAP Public Sector solutions like Grantor Management or Social Services.

  • NULL Value in Journal Entry and Wrong Tax Summary

    Hi people,
I need your expert help for a big problem that appens to some customers.
    They run SAP BO 8.8 SP:00 PL:12
    This is the scenario:
You insert a new documet,  A/R Invoice or A/P Invoice is the same, problem appear in all of them.
After you insert the document, using SQL Server Management try this Select statment:
Select * from JDT1 where JDT1.debit is null OR JDT1.credit is null
A list of record where listed. And, this is the problem, NULL values are all in the VAT Lines in debit or credit colums.
If you try to make a SUM(debit-credit) you discovery that, 1000,00-null=null
Consequently, TAX Sumary report, that probably use arithmetic operation like me in SELECT statment,  count a wrong number when null values in DEBIT or CREDIT column in JDT1 for VAT declaration.
How could I solve? And how i can make invoices store 0 rather than NULL in the VAT Line?
Thanks in advance for your tips and solutions

    Thaks Neetu for your answer.
I thinks there is a misurandertanding.
    My problem is not SQL.
My problem is the SAP TAX Report.
I used SQL only for check data and discover why SAP raise a wrong TAX Summary report.
So, my question is: Why invoices write null values in journal entry, and how I can solve the problem that TAX summary report use null value in operations so the results are wrong.
    Thanks,

  • Tax computation in case of varibale income

    Hi Experts,
I have a tax scenario wherein client computes taxable income of employee at the start of the year  Now when they pay salary arrears (salary increment) to employees in novemeber/december they want that tax should not be calculated on the cumulative amount of salary for that month but tax liability of employee should be spread across the remaining periods of the year and tax should be accordingly calculated.
As i understand in sap tax get's deducted on the amount for a particular month (Variable + fixed). If the amount for a particular month is high for any reason then tax get's deducted accordingly for that month, the tax liablity does not get spread,
    Ex:
    Employee fixed monthly payment
    basic - 27580
hra - 5516 (rent exemption - non metro)
    Employee variable monthly payment
conve - 2713 (conve reimbursement - totally taxable)
    savings
Agg of Chapter VI - 10000
    conv exemption  -  2713 (monthly)
    Income Tax coming - 653
Now if in October he get's salary arrear of 100000 will system deduct tax as 30% for that month and change Income tax for that month (653/-) to any other amont (30% tax ded for that month) or will the system spread the tax to other month's and calculated tax accordingly.
Thanks so much for all the help extended.
    Regards,
    Jyoti

Well Jyoti, you are actually getting confused with the tax concepts for India -
Let me explain it in brief -
Whatever income employee will get in whole year, it will be keep on adding up and accordingly tax will be calculated as per the slab. Here we divide the income into 2 part that  is regular income and irregular income.
Since the taxation for India is annual, regular part needs to be projected for the rest of year to get the estimated annual income. It is based on the formula -
Year till date value of regular income (CRT value of /124) + current month value + current month value X projection factor(/401)  - this is calculated and stored as wage type /410 in system. As you know /124 generate based on cumulation class 24 and processing class 20.
Irregular income based on formula -
Year till date value of regular income (CRT value of /125) + current month value - this is calculated and stored as wage type /411 in system. As you know /125 generate based on cumulation class 25 and processing class 20.
After that we get all the exemption etc and finally generate the taxable income on which slabs are applied and deducted accordingly. This taxation will spread uniformly throughout the year subjected to the active status of employee. - This is just to make you understand that how regular and irregular income plays an role. I am also not explaining the rest part as i feel that is not the part of problem here.
There are 2 type of processing possible for taxation of arrears in India provided by SAP-
    1. You just add in simply into /125 wage type as it is a irrgular income. Accordingly it will be cumulated into /411 and will be considered for taxation. Here as you are not treating the arrears differently, taxation will spread uniformly here.
    2. Now If you want that taxation on arrears/ bonus happens on the same period of the whole amount, then you will be required to configure INBTD for the particular payment (Check the documentation for the details).
Hence if you are not configuring INBTD then tax will spread uniformly for rest of the year.
Let me take some of your example to make it more clear -
    Annual Gross - 397152
Income under head salary - 356075
    Total income - 256080
Tax on total income - 7608
    Monthly tax - 653
Employee monthly salary April , May, june, july - 35269 (tax 653)
Salary Arrears /Leave encashment Aug - 2 lac
So for the month of Aug what will be his taxable amount , will it be 235269 * 30% or will the tax amount for Aug be spread over to coming months (sep, oct, nov, dec, jan, feb, mar)
Here till  july it is correct. But after getting arrears, calculation will happen like this  -
Total income in month of aug - 256080 + 200000 = 456080 (Note i am not considering exemption etc so may be the amount vary lil bit).
Tax on total income= slab rate applied on 456080.
tax deducted till date = 2612
    tax remaining = tax on 456080 -2612
tax for aug month = tax remaining / 8.
Prerequisite is you need to tick cumulation class 25 here and also need to set processing class 20 accordingly.
Now suppose you are configured the INBTD for this 2 lac payment then calculation will hapen in following way -
Tax calculated on 200000 = say 30% slab applied then 66666. This processig will happen in INBTD.
But astill this amount will be cumulated into /125 and accordingly into /411.
    Total income in month of aug - 256080 + 200000 = 456080
Tax on total income= slab rate applied on 456080.
Remaining tax =  Tax on total income (calculated in previous step) u2013 66666 u2013 2612
August part of this remaining tax = Remaining tax  (calculated in previous step) / 8.
Total tax for august = August part of this remaining tax (calculated in previous step) + 66666.66
This is subjected to the total tax liability. IN your case tax liability may not reach at 66666. Then tax will be adjusted accordingly.
Since you are not using INBTD, it will not have any impact on your calculation. Hence the remaining tax including all the income will be uniformly for the rest of the periods
I know the answer become bit lengthy but hopefully will clear all your doubts

  • Tax in Purchase Order

    Hi,
In City of San Diego, the Non Deductable tax is required to be calculated on certain condition types and certain condition types do not attract the taxes.
    Example
Suppose the pricing of material is as follows.
    a.     Gross Price PBXX - $100.00
    b.     Discount before tax %age (ZTDP) u2013 1% = $1.00
    c.     Taxable Fuel Surcharge (ZTFS) - $10.00
    d.     Hazardous Material fee - $10.00
In the example above the sum of a, b & c is taxable and d is non taxable.
Thus the total PO value should be calculated as below
Taxable Amount = $100-$1+$10 = $109.00. This value should be considered as the base value for condition BASB in tax schema TAXUSJ.
    Tax say 7.775% = $8.45
    Non Taxable Amount = $10.00
    Total PO Amount would be = $109.00$8.45$10.00 = $127.45
The calculation schema is created according to this requirement (please refer the attachment). However, as per standard SAP, the tax is always calculated on the total of all the conditions.
So, in above example as per standard SAP tax would be calculated on $119.00 instead of $109.00
We have tried following options to address this issue
Option 1: Mark Non taxable conditions as Statistical in the calculation schema.
Issues with this optionu2013 This works fine as purchase order. However, as these conditions are statistical, the value of these conditions are not considered in net value calculation. Due to this the value of these conditions is not getting encumbered. This being public sector, the total PO price needs to get encumbered.
Option 2: Treat these conditions as some kind tax and create them with the tax category as u201CTaxu201D instead of Discount or Surcharges
Issue with this option: Though we knew that this is really not a best option we tried this. However, the values of these conditions do not get encumbered.
Option 3: Pass on subtotal of taxable amount to KOMP-KZWI6. Then in tax calculation schema TAXUSJ, maintain the routine 21 (KZWI6) for Alternate Formula for Condition Base value for condition type BASB (Base Amount).
The routine 21 is as follows
    Pricing procedure subtotal 6
    form frm_kond_basis_021.
      xkwert = komp-kzwi6.
    endform.
Though this should have been worked correctly, it is not working. System still calculates taxes on Total of all condition types
Option 4: Pass on subtotal amount to KOMP-KZWI6 and use BAdi EXTENSION_US_TAXES Method ME_TAXCOM_MEPO. The details of this BAdi are as enclosed with the message.
This logic is to route the program to a subtotal from KZWI6 instead of NETWR so that taxes are calculated only on the subtotal. This subtotal is carried over to field KOMP-KZWI6. System then picks up this subtotal and considers this as BASE amount in tax calculation schema for the calculation of tax.
Issue with this option: Though it works perfectly fine with single line PO, it does not work for multi line PO. At the time of PO creation, it calculates the taxes correctly. However, during saving of the PO, it changes the taxes. The taxes after saving are totally different and sometimes randomly calculated. The behavior is un-predictable. However, sometimes it works correctly. In some cases, it changes the tax amounts randomly (tax amount of line 1 will be shown to line 10 and that of line 10 will be shown in line 8).
The details of Calculation Schema and Tax Schema are as enclosed with this message.
