Sap Tomcat pdk 5.0.6.0. I need tomcat.jar

I am installing the sap tomcat pdk 5.0.6.0 and i get this log:
TOMCAT_OPTS = -Djava.library.path=../lib/apps -Dhttp.proxyHost=sopra.sapportals.com -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dhttp.nonProxyHosts="sopra.sapportals.com" -Dcm.decode=X
"C:jakarta-tomcat-5.5.4liblib omcat.jar" not found.
Unable to locate "lib omcat.jar", check the value of TOMCAT_INSTALL.
¿ where can i find this file ?

Hi Luis,
tomcat.jar is part of Tomcat3 (maybe 4, too), but not of Tomcat5. Maybe it is possible of running PDK5 on Tomcat5, but I've never ever heard of someone doing so. When I developed for EP5 (last summer/autumn), only Tomcat3 was supported; anyhow, with some hands on, on Tomcat4 it was possible, too.

I am trying to deploy Portal Development Kit 6.0 SP3 on WAS 6.40 (J2EE
6.30) with EP 6.0 SP3 and it is failing on the last package with the

Apparently, there is a bug in the .sca file that prevents it from deployment on UNIX servers.
SAP is working on the patch, but meantime we can use the following workaround:
unzip the .sca file
unzip the com.sap.pct.pdk.pct.epa.epa from the .sca
Copy all .ept files contained into the WebAS folder <(>
<<)>WASROOT>/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/web-inf/deployment/pcdcontent
restart the server.

Disabled standard role com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper

Hi - I've logged an OSS but if anyone can help me quicker it ould be most appreciated;
the role com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper can be found in the portal
content location
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.pct.pdk/Roles/com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper
when i double click on that role it shows only one Workset called
Examples and within it a workset called OBN Examples
I searched the SDN and found this post:

sorry, probably haven't explained it well enough.
it used to have lots of entry points, yes. but none of them were visible in the portal catalogue, except one "Examples"
the linked post describes exactly the same problems. when i followed the recommended steps "remove the role from the Administrator account" in that post, the role stopped working, apart from the "Examples" workset. Apparently we are not using NWDI and apparently this has some relevance, in that we can't create the system alias for the webDynpro as the post also recommends.
to recap - the standard role, since unassigning it from the administrator account, now does not function for any user. only the workset "Examples" is visible in the role. this was the case before. trying to view the other objects in the role is the reason I was working on it., since we have a requirement to add the Portal Logviewer in to the content developer role, without giving them the whole of the PDK/PRT maintenance applications. it now transpires that they were not displaying and were hidden becasue they are not Iviews, but are components accessed directly.
Does it need to be rebuilt? if so , how?

SAP MDM Joining tables in console? Help needed.

I am placed in SAP MDM Project.
Currently, we have an unique requirement.
We, have to join two tables of SAP MDM Console in an unique field
named(House No and PO Code).
Actually, we have a main table named Business Partner and a Flat table
named Address.
Now, we have a field named House No and PO Code(Business Partner) which I have made as unique.
Also, the Field named House No and PO Code(Address) is unique.
Now, my colleague suggested if we can make remote key mapping at the time of import
it will automatically populate the address data for each individual.
But it is not true. Remote Key mapping is a different concept.
If Remote key is mapped with any field of the Main table.
It will show remote key mapping for that field with a remote system.
When data is syndicated back after modification same data is reflected in that remote system.
Only thing that we can do is that make House No and PO Code (Business Partner) as Lookup(Flat) field and it is mapped with the Flat table Address.
Now, the SAP MDM Data Operator needs to select the address manually from say 10,000 address records for a person George Smith in main table(Business Partner).
No other way round.
Please suggest if there is any other way.

I am using SAP B1 version 9.0 PL 06. I imported a crystal report, defined FMS for choosing the selection criteria in the parameters. But when I run the report, it gives the dump error and comes out. this happens in the standard crystal reports given by SAP B1 also, for ex, stock turn over analysis report, when I run it, it gives the same response.
Please guide on how to solve it.

SAP data extraction mapping, where the JCO files need to be copied?

I have the following environment.
OWB client: Windows7
OWB server: Linux x86_64
SAP Server: Windows Server 2003
I need to create OWB mapping to extract data from SAP to Oracle target.
Please let me know what are the JCO files required and where do i need to copy them?
Do i need to copy them on both the owb client and server or is it enough to copy them on the client machine alone?

OWB client isn't supported on Windows 64-bit, just wanted to let you know since you mentioned Windows 7..
For the windows you will require 3 files sapjcorfc.dll, librfc32.dll and sapjco.jar. You can get them from the SAP install cd or download them from http://service.sap.com/connectors for your SAP version. You will need to have a SAPnet account to do that.
You can place the files sapjcorfc.dll and sapjco.jar in OWB_HOME\owb\lib\int, and librfc32.dll in OWB_HOME\owb\bin and also set the PATH to reference this directories.
For linux you will need librfcccm.so, libsapjcorfc.so and sapjco.jar. Also set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to reference these files locations.
If you are only extracting metadata from SAP then you need it only on the OWB client but if you plan to execute ABAP programs on the SAP system you will need to set it up on the server side.

Hi,
SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence 4.0 is installed on any machine ( windows/unix, depending on your architecture). It is integrated with a backend BW(also called BI) system. Now this BW(BI) system needs to be dual stack ( both ABAP and JAVA; as many features of SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence 4.0 requires BW java portal).
You cannot add ABAP ( like an add-on) to already installed java stack. ( though the reverse is possible, but not with NW 7.3).
What you can do now is to install NW 7.3 ABAP as a separate system and then integrate your NW java with your ABAP ( i.e, change the UME from java databse to ABAP in your java stack). This has to be done as ABAP+JAVA installation option ( as a single instance) is not available for NW 7.3 ( exception being for PI and Solution Manager). No further change in SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence 4.0 is required.

SAP web AS not picking up my custom actions defined jar

Hi,
I added some custom actions in the config.xml of the SAP Internet Sales Application, but noticed that this server is not picking up the jar file in which I defined my custom actions. This happens even though I placed the jar file directly under the WEB-INF/lib folder.
When I go through the logs, I see that under the resources, it picked up all the jars except mine. Is there a place where you define what jars to pick up with in the WEB-INF/lib folder.

Oh yes, there is.
In NetWeaver never place any files into directories and expect them to work. You MUST deloy them regularly.
On every start the server checks the files against what is in the DB and I don't know what it does in case of no file in DB, but it may even delete it...

Tomcat - jar library

Hi,
I packaged some of my classes in jar file and places it in /WEB-INF/lib/myjar.jar
In my servlet I included:
import mypackage.*;
However I get classnotfound exception. Now to make Tomcat update CLASSPATH automaticaly?

I still can't get it working.
My package is correctly compiled and put into jar file.
I set CLASSPATH pointing to jar, and servlet works fine. But when I copy the jar file into WEB-INF/lib folder and remove path to jar from CLASSPATH, the servlet cannot find it. Why?
Is there any additional config parameters in Tomcat to make the jar library available?
According to Servlet API Spec putting jar library in /lib folder should be enough... Has anyone encountered the same problem?

The maximum number of work processes depends on several things like the below.
1) Majorly on Your primary Memory
2) Hardware capacity
3) Operating systems
4) SAP version as well...
You need to calculate the work processes with your primary memory.
Every work process should take 150 mb space on memory.. so you need to increase the work processes that should be campatible with your primary memory.
And please read the OSS notes as suggested by our frnds then go ahead with your rquirement.

Usually if you try to install an add-on packaged as a .xpi file, it contains a list of compatible Firefox versions and Firefox won't enable it unless you are running one of those versions. So... I think the question should be directed toward whoever packages the add-on. I searched a bit, but couldn't figure out who is in charge of that.

Data extraction from SAP r/3 to sql 2000, bpc server

I have posted a similar thread previously,sap r/3 to sql 2000/2005, and understood how to transfer data from SAP R/3 to SQL 2005, but I need to transfer data from SAP R/3 to SQL 2000 server, not SQL 2005 server.

If you want to extract SAP R/3 data to SQL 2000, here are some alternatives:
1. It becomes very easy if by any chance, you are using SAP BW with SAP R/3. You can extract the data into BW using standard or custom extractors and then send it out with open hub. SQL2000 can pick the flat files from a specified location at regular intervals.
2. You can use Business Object extractors. You can get more info at:

3. If that is not an option, then you need to have a tool that allows being called via RFC. This agent will then execute the required command on behalf of your application and return the result. I do not know if there is a ready-to-use RFC-compliant agent for SQL Server. If you have a tool that does it for you, you might have to check your network connections (ping), permissions etc. and see if you can execute an rSQL from the remote machine on the SQL server.
There is a general solution to connect to nearly any kind of modern server application from a remote site by using simple HTTP requests. Suitable HTTP server for most needs would be:
1. Microsoft IIS
2. Java Tomcat or IBM WebSphere
3. SAP WebAS
In most cases, the IIS would probably be the one as it is installed on the Windows 2000 server anyway.
Define an Active Server Page (ASP.NET) and insert the necessary code in your favorite language to extract the data from the SQL server.
Your ASP.NET page would pack the result in the HTTP response object to be returned. In order to call the page from SAP you call the function modules HTTP_POST (using a HTTP POST request) or HTTP_GET (for HTTP GET request) on the standard RFC destination SAPHTTPA. (Pointing to a SAP utility program saphttp that resides in the SAP binary directory of your SAP database server and can be called from the command line in order to test its functionality without RFC).
