Sapinst.exe crashes on Windows 7 (ver. 6.1)

Hi,
I am trying to install Netweaver CE 7.11 on Windows 7 64-bit. Yes, I know it is not supported. But still, I would like to ask right about the reason sapinst.exe crashes.
So, sapinst.exe can be launched in Win 7 native mode, but it is not compliant with OS compatibility. So I am trying to launch it in Vista mode. But sapinst.exe crashes with error log like this (sorry for flood, but see below).
At the same time sapinst.exe launches in Win 7 native mode + 32-bit sapinst.exe launches in Vista mode. Only 64-bit sapinst crashes in Vista mode. I suspect this is related just to JVM and near that, and may be solved. Please, advise, if someone has more expertise than me or experience with such or similar situations.
Thank you.
Regards,
Anton

Also, I noticed that possibly JVM crashes in ntdll.dll. Here are some libs, from the errorlog:
0x0000000000400000 - 0x0000000000415000      C:\Users\i057882\AppData\Local\Temp\sapinst_exe.5528.1284043695\jre\bin\java.exe

0x000007fefe980000 - 0x000007fefea1f000      C:\Windows\system32\msvcrt.dll
Exception always occurs here: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc= 0x0000000076def2d5
So I assume ntdll.dll is the place where crash happens. Am I right? And what could it mean?
Thanks.

    This just started to happen. I'm using IE 11. Of course.. Safari is dead.
    Thank you!

    Remove or uncheck Bookmarks in your iCloud control panel. That is what is causing most of the problems. At least that is what I've been able to gleen from reading other posts here in the forum.

  • File Explorer (explorer.exe) Crashes in Windows 8.1 at shutdown

    Hi,
    Iv been running a custom built PC with Windows 8.1 (Win7 upgrade to Win8 then 8.1) Now since a couple of weeks after Win8.1, which was running perfectly fine up until last month when I Started to get these Explorer.exe crashes, Im  quite knowledge able
    with PC so iv done various things such as System Restore (as far back a could) and also followed all the guides on using the Registry editor to disable the Shell Extensions, in addition iv also used Registry Recycler but all to no avail. I then saw this support.microsoft.com/kb/2929203
    and decided to use the charms bar to shut down but it still made no difference at all.
    I don't really want to preform a refresh because i have so many Desktop Programs installed and i have only had this issue since around Mid way through last month, each time on shut down the instructions (referenced memory) are different but all structured
    like: "The instruction at 0x referenced memory at 0x. The memory could not be read. Please if you could help me find a solution to solve this problem with
    out preforming a refresh, I know this could be a a program but event viewer tells me nothing so I would greatly appreciate any help.
    My System Specs are as follows:
    MB: Asus Sabertooth FX R2
    CPU: FX6300
    GPU: GTX660
    RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600
    OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit With Latest Updates
    If you require any other info just ask :-)

    Another Update after changing some options in Event Viewer I get this two logs from each crash at shutdown:
    The process C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE (DESKTOP) has initiated the power off of computer DESKTOP on behalf of user Desktop\Calum for the following reason: Other (Unplanned)
     Reason Code: 0x0
     Shut-down Type: power off
     Comment:
    Followed by:
    Application pop-up: explorer.exe - Application Error : The instruction at 0xffffffff referenced memory at 0xffffffff. The memory could not be written.
    Click on OK to terminate the program
    EDIT: I also got the time of the first reported error: 02/02/2014 04:50:26

  • Skydrive.exe crashes on Windows 8.1 Pro RTM

    I'm trying to get Skydrive working on a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro RTM.  When I go to Skydrive (show my files in skydrive) via the "metro" app, the view is empty.  When I look at the skydrive folder in explorer.exe, it's also
    empty.
    I went to a command prompt running as an administrator and ran "skydrive /shutdown" followed by "skydrive" in order to reboot skydrive.  When I attempt to start skydrive, I get two entries in the Event Log.  The second event
    viewer message refers to a file named Report.wer that contains info about the crash.  I've attached the contents of both eventvwr entries and the contents of Report.wer.
    I'm wondering if this has anything to do with Skydrive Pro being installed by the Office 2013 installer that comes from my Office 365 subscription.
    Any thoughts on how to fix skydrive.exe?
    Thanks,
    -Ben

    I think I found a fix!
    I went looking at %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\SkyDrive\logs and found some messages in the SyncEngine*.etl files in that dir.  (BTW, Visual Studio wants to open those *.etl files but it doesn't show anything.  It's easier to open these
    files in Notepad and wade through the mess of hex.  Eventually, you'll come to readable text.)  The messages were:
    1) Failed to show/hide SkyDrive Shell Items, error code: 0x80070002
    2) Unable to correctly read and parse the ClientPolicy.ini file
    A quick search brought up some posts complaining about the Win-X shortcut being broken.  (link)
    I tried my Win-X key and it was indeed not working.  That forum discussion led to
    another forum post about Skydrive generating a lot of extra empty Skydrive folders in the user profile dir.
    These posts suggested some commands to run from an Administrative command prompt.

  • Java.exe crashes with windows access exception

    When OracleASHome102HTTPServer starts I get a Win2000 access exception c0000005 on java.exe. Little DrWatson window pops up... O9i logs Logs show nothing. Only drwatson shows problem info, assembler dump, ets...
    Anyone know what's wrong? I've got O9iAS 1.0.2.0, Win2000SP1, Pentium 4, 1.4GHz, 512Mg RAM?
    I know there is a problem with the jre JIT compiler on the P4. Got around this during O9iAS installation by using the '-nojit' parameter on all invocations of jrew.exe and jre.exe. Is my java.exe problem still with the P4 chip?
    Regards,
    Jim Anderson

    solution
    I have solved the problem,and the method as follows:
    1.look for the dll file:symcjit.dll(the path is %oracle_home%\Apache\jdk\jre\bin) ,
    2.change the extension to .old
    3.restart the httpServer
    4.ok
    try it,and hope you good luck

  • FlashPlayerPlugin_11_5_502_146.exe crashes in Windows 8 Pro using Firefox 18.01

    After upgrading to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit from Windows 7, every page which has Flash content produces this error message:
    'The instruction at 0x71a30000 referenced memory at 0x71a30000. The memory could not be written.
    Click on OK to terminate the program'
    If there are several Flash videos, it produces this error message for each one.
    This does not happen on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, or Safari. However, I do all my web development on Firefox because of good third party tools, so this is a real problem for me.

    I disabled the protected mode as instructed, and the problem has resolved itself.
    Many thanks.

  • CVI 2013 clang.exe crashes at wrong "extern dllexport"

    Another issue...
    #include <utility.h>
    extern DLLEXPORT int crashme;
    int __stdcall WinMain (HINSTANCE hInstance, HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,
    LPSTR lpszCmdLine, int nCmdShow)
    if (InitCVIRTE (hInstance, 0, 0) == 0)
    return -1; /* out of memory */
    crashme = 1;
    return 0;
    This makes clang.exe crash (using Windows 8, maybe it matters).
    /* Nothing past this point should fail if the code is working as intended */

    Hello!
    Thanks for reporting the issue. I have filed bug report # 423475 for the problem.
    However, it appears to me that you're trying to import "crashme" from a DLL into your project. Did you mean to use DLLIMPORT instead of DLLEXPORT? DLLEXPORT suggests that you're trying to export crashme from the current project and it's a little unusual to reexport a variable that you've just imported with "extern". (Unusual but no excuse for clang crashing.)
    Sorry, the import/export directives are a big confusing. I'll try to summarize:
    extern int x;
    Variable x is declared externally and you're importing it from some other file into this file.
    DLLIMPORT int x;
    Variable x is declared externally in a DLL and you're importing it into this file.
    DLLEXPORT int x;
    Variable x is declared in this file (which is part of a DLL) and you're exporting x from the DLL for use in other DLLs/EXEs.
    Thanks,
    Peter

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS + User profile Disks + App-V = Explorer.exe crashing all of the time

    I have built a new RDS farm on Windows Server 2012 R2 with two Session Hosts and a combined Connect Broker/Web Access server. I had the farm up and running with User Profile Disks and all seemed OK. However, as soon as I installed the App-V 5.0 SP2 RDS
    client on the session hosts, the explorer.exe process started crashing for any user logging in via the Web Access site. The process crashes and restarts every five to ten seconds. It's the same for administrators. If they log in via Web Access explorer.exe
    crashes, but if they RDP directly to one of the session hosts explorer.exe is fine. If I reboot the session hosts, then the first user to log in via Web Access has a stable desktop session (and appears to have a new profile as well). However, if that user
    logs out and back in again, explorer.exe starts crashing again. The only applications I have packaged at the moment are Office 2013 and Firefox.
    I tried disabling User Profile Disks, but this caused a whole bunch of other problems and I eventually lost the ability to log in at all via Web Access (errors about the user profile service). As this is a small pre-production environment I completed scrapped
    all of the servers and rebuilt from scratch. Again, everything appeared fine until I installed the App-V client, then explorer.exe started crashing repeatedly for all users.
    Has anyone come across this issue before? I have tried installing the App-V 5.0 SP2 Hotfix Package 2, but this didn't help. I have read in a few forums that App-V doesn't work very well with User Profile Desks, but I have not heard of this particular issue.
    Similarly, SP2 seems to have a lot of problems, so I am going to try removing App-V RDp Client SP2 and installing SP1. I ahev also deleted User Profile Disks for the test users to recreate their profiles, but this didn't help either.
    Any other suggestions welcome!

    Hi,
    I don't know too much about this to be honest but I have some suggestions so I'll throw my two cents worth in. A few things come to mind, first I'd check the client, the issue looks like its there, second check the local security setup and third if your using Active Directory there are special directory issues.
    Hope this helps

  • IPodService.exe crashes after installing MS Windows XP SP3

    Installed Windows XP SP3 the other day, now iPodService.exe crashes every time when starting. Does anyone have a workaround or fix? I have not found any other info about this problem...I tried the repair reinstallation, but that didn't help. Error signature is:
    szAppName : iPodService.exe szAppVer : 7.6.2.9
    szModName : iPodService.exe szModVer : 7.6.2.9 offset : 00027259
    Muchas Gracias for any assistance...

    I also uninstalled SP3, but the damage was already in the registry, so the uninstall did not help.
    I am using NIS2008, so I uninstalled that (making sure I had distribution info to allow re-install later.
    I reinstalled SP3.
    then, using regedit (start->run->regedit) edit->find and type in "$%&" which is string all corrupt keys start with (thanks to other posters). you will find them in groups. I selected the key at the top of the group of corrupt values (usually some "update" key) and deleted the entire corrupt group (right click->delete and confirm). Be careful to only delete the corrupt groups of keys!!
    in my case, I found at least half a dozen, or so, such groups. I deleted each one until the find could locate no more.
    I closed regedit and rebooted.
    I reinstalled NIS2008.
    I had also deleted itunes and apple update, so I reinstalled those.
    I have seen no further problems.
    hope this helps.

    I tried another machine, 64 bit of course, as I want to deploy my application on a 64bit PC, but still got the same problem.
    This other machine was from HP, iCore 3 (4 CPUs) 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM and running Windows Professional 64 bit.
    Now as I see it, it could be a Run-time environment mis-match error.
    For this I tried installing a 64 bit LVRTE from NI, but still no sucess.
    I checked DEP, for all 3 PCs and it was set to the following
    Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only (first option).
    I am confused. I can not find a solution for this and it is really frustrating.

    But I am assuming that when I make the installer, the 32-bit Run Time Engine is appened with the installer, as show below
    Since from the picture you can see its including the support installers from '\Program Files (x86)\'
    The application runs queries to fetch data from database in SQL server 2008, and for that I am using a Microsoft SQL Native Client 2008 R2 64 bit ( this is the only version that installs on either PC, even the one on which I developed my LV Application).
    I am not using any driver, only toolkits for reports - and for that I un-checked the "Remove unused polymorphic VI instances" when making the executable, otherwise LV throws up an exception that share variable are not being included.
    Yes I did reboot every time after I ran the installation.
    Still getting the same error.

    Well it came installed on my brand new Windows 8 pro w530 I received 4 weeks ago and has never worked. When you try to open power manager it just crashes. If you uninstall it the Lenovo software just keep reinstalling it. If you uninstall the Lenovo PM driver but do not reboot you can then open Power Manager. The minute you reboot the Lenovo software reinstallls the driver.
    Why would Lenovo install software on a brand new Windows 8 laptop that is broken and useless? Tech support is absolutely no help they transfer you to the software department which wants to charge you to fix a problem that Lenovo created!!! It is crazy!! I was hoping someone here could solve this problem or maybe someone at Lenovo would see this and get the problem resolved. Tech support has been useless. I reported the problem to them at least 5 times.
