SAProuter functionality validation

Hi,
I would like to validate SAProuter functionality at GUI level. Any idea or clue please explain with detail steps.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Srinivas

Flex can do all of this. You will have to write code.
The Flex Text Input component supports built-in data
validators and formatters, complete with error messages, tool tip
pop-ups and the red border color when vaildation fails. It's real
easy to do.
Never bothered with using the browser's staus bar. Flex can
talk to its HTML wrapper and call javascript functions via External
Interface, though. But I'd just use a label component underneath
the form, for example, to display any other messages.

  • Validation of fields

    I have four mandatury fields in a page and one submit button.Among that one was read only field and another one  is drop down list.If all four fields are populated then only save button should be enabled,otherwise it should be disabled.
    Can any one help me this?
    Here is my code...
    private  if (customercode.text=="" ){Csave.enabled=
    false; return;}if(customername.text==""){
    Csave.enabled=
    false;
     return;}
    function validation():void{ if(geo.text==""){
    Csave.enabled=
    false; return;}
     if(cmblistunit.selectedIndex==-1){
    Csave.enabled=
    false;Alert.show(
    "Error:Customer type cannot be null.Please select a valid Customer Type!"); return;
    Csave.enabled=true;}
    If geo field(read only) value is selected last,then save button is not enabling.

    The property represents the "property path" from the object (the formulation spec data object, in this case) that you are trying to validate to the property you want to be required.
    To get to the reason for change, you first have to access the SpecSummary property of the formulation spec, then the SpecSummary's FreeTextReasonForChange property, and then the FreeTextReasonForChange's ReasonForChange property. So your property should be "SpecSummary.FreeTextReasonForChange.ReasonForChange"
    If you are using the DatabaseAndObjectSchema document, you can traverse these property paths, but just remember to use the property's name, not its type, in the property path.
    You can learn more about the DatabaseAndObjectSchema document in the Extensibility Guide's Developer Information section in the Appendix, and in the Appendix of the ValidationTraining powerpoint presentation, under ReferenceImplementations\Validation\Documentation folder.

  • Server side validation

    Hi I am trying to validate two forms the first form allows a customer to register if it is correctly validated then it proceeds to address form as these two tables are linked by foreign key so when u create account in one need to do it at the same time for both. I tried client side JavaScript to validate the forms which works but don t prevent the accounts from being created if wrong. This method I tried to implement:

    Java methods aree fine but when I try to access these ion the JSP page it fucks up I can t see how to resolve the issues can anyone help ?

    Hi the code that I showed you was on two separate pages one in the java file where I have tried numerous methods at server side validation
    e.g.
    private int validate = 0;
    //StringTokenizer is used to check for empty spaces as in prevents user from submitting a empty form
         //countTokens count the number of empty spaces between the words if no words no token it would be empty and validate to 0
         //otherwise it would equal 1 and the message output shall appears on the screen. To be exact as long as it count the number of whitespaces this means
         //if it is more then 1 it can be then there must be text present in the text field and thus tokens can be made.
         /*public String getIsEmpty()
              String output = "nothing";
              StringTokenizer Email = new StringTokenizer(getBnEmail());
              StringTokenizer Title = new StringTokenizer(getBnTitle());
              StringTokenizer FirstName = new StringTokenizer(getBnFirstName());
              StringTokenizer LastName = new StringTokenizer(getBnLastName());
              StringTokenizer Occupation = new StringTokenizer(getBnType_Of_Occupation());
              StringTokenizer Password = new StringTokenizer(getBnpassword() );
              StringTokenizer confirmpass = new StringTokenizer(getBnpassword2());
              StringTokenizer Numbers = new StringTokenizer(getBnNumber());
              StringTokenizer Date1 = new StringTokenizer(getBnExp_Date());
              StringTokenizer Type = new StringTokenizer(getBnType() );
              StringTokenizer cardholder = new StringTokenizer(getBnCardholder_Name());
              if (Email.countTokens() < 1 || Title.countTokens() < 1 || FirstName.countTokens() < 1 || LastName.countTokens() < 1 || Occupation.countTokens() < 1 || Password.countTokens() < 1 || confirmpass.countTokens() < 1 || Numbers.countTokens() < 1 || Date1.countTokens() < 1 || Type.countTokens() < 1 || cardholder.countTokens() < 1)
                   output = "Please fill in all fields. Thank you.";
                   System.out.println("this is empty at first attempt and then second time nothing typed");
                   validatem = 0;
                   output = "To fill in your address details proceed to this page by <a href=\"../jsp/NewAddress.jsp\"> clicking here</a>";
                   validatem = 1;
              return output ;
    This method works it counts the empty spaces and if any it does not allow the user to proceed to same page but if correct it goes to the same page but show all their answers filled using jsp:get Property and then the link above to the other form to fill in the code. However no indivdual messages can be passed to the user which is crap as the people keeps pressing he won t know what is wrong.
    The method that I am currently using is this one:
         public boolean isValidUserData() {
                   System.out.println(bnFirstName);
                   return (( bnFirstName !=null) && (bnFirstName.length() >0) &&
                        (bnpassword !=null) && (bnpassword.length() != 8) &&
                        (bnpassword2 !=null) && (bnpassword2.length() != 8)&&
                        (bnemail !=null) && (bnTitle !=null) &&
                        (bnLastName != null) && (bnLastName.length() >0) &&
                        (bnType !=null) && (bnNumber !=null) &&
                        (bnExp_Date !=null) && (bnCardholder_Name != null) &&
                        (bnType_Of_Occupation !=null));
    again this method is held in the Java file. This works the best as it checks for empty spaces however the password verification it does not do check whether password 1 matches password 2 nor the fact that password should be 8 characters only or check whether the user is typing in an integer or not etc. I can do this in JavaScript the integer one I am not sure. I then use JSP page which is this below:
    <jsp:useBean
         id="newcust"
         scope="session"
         class="projectshowbeans.customer2"
         />
    <!--
    <jsp:useBean
         id="newaddress"
         scope="page"
         class="projectshowbeans.Address"
         />
    <jsp:setProperty
         name="newaddress"
         property="bnemail"
         param="frmemail"
         />
    -->
    <jsp:setProperty
         name="newcust"
         property="bnEmail"
         param="frmemail"
         />
    <jsp:setProperty

  • Validation & Method configuration in UCWB

    Hi,
    I have a method with details like below :
    - Type of data stream : Total Records
    - Validation Type : Individual Data Rows
    The method above is created via : Consolidation Functions --> Validation --> Method, in UCWB.
    Under : Consolidation Functions --> Validation --> Task, I have also defined a task and I would like to assign the above method to this task.
    My question is why I could not see the above method?
    Any comment would be appreciated. Thank you.

    If you try to force the assignment of your method to the task by simply entering the technical name and pressing enter and save, you'll have the following message (I did the test) :
    Task DDD: Invalid validation type in validation method DDD
    Message no. UCUS0026
    Diagnosis
    When assigning validation methods to validation tasks, you can only use validation methods with validation type data rows netted.
    You assigned validation method DDD to validation task DDD; however, this method has a different validation type.
    Procedure
    Check the method assignments for task DDD.

  • Erroring out when trying to call a custom function from the discoverer repo

    Hi everybody, Thanks in advance....
    I have a discoverer report giving the shelf life of an item.
    The shelf life is to be calculated using a function.
    Hence, a custom function is created. I registered the function using Discoverer Administrator Edition.
    Then opened my desktop edition and opened the report.
    Going to Tools > Calculations > New > Functions > Database > selected the function and changed the parameters passed to the function by going to Items selecting the columns from the tables they are available.
    Now, when the query is refreshed, it comes up with an error "Function returns no value".
    When tested from sql session, the function returns value.
    any idea, as to whts the reason???
    -- Kiran

    Hi,
    Have you validated the function in Discoverer administrator?
    Is the function valid?
    Have you manually defined the function details or imported directly from the database?
    pls. let us know.

  • Price validation........

    Hi All,
    Anybody please tell me what is wrong with the folllowing code.
    it is giving javascript error.
    isNaN() is not working.
    Well I have placed the same code in java script forum but nobody have answered.
    Please reply soon.
    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <script language="javascript">
    function validation() {
    var price=document.name1.price.value;
    if(price.isNaN()) {
    alert("hello");
    </script>
    <form name="name1" method="post" action="a1.jsp" onsubmit="return
    validation()">
    <input type="text" name="price">
    <input type="submit" value="submit">
    </form>
    </html>

    two second goggle for isNaN gets
    The isNaN function is used to determine if the argument, testvalue, is a NaN.
    A NaN, which means "Not-a-Number", is classified as a primitive value by the ECMA-262 standard and indicates that the specified value is not a legal number. The function returns true if the argument is not a number and false if the argument is a number.
    The classic example of a NaN is zero divided by zero, 0/0.
    bloody amazing things is computiers

  • Confirm password validation

    How can I create confirm password form validation, is there a tool in ADDT to do this?
    User enters password twice to confirm there is no mistake
    Thanks
    Bert

    You may use PL/SQL function returning error text or boolean functions validations to do this.
    something like
    if :P1_email = :P1_emai1 AND :P1_password =:P1_password1 THEN
    return TRUE;
    else
    return FALSE;
    end if;cheers,
    Hari

         <HR size=1>
         <P>
         Using client side JavaScript is an efficient way to validate the user input
         in web applications. When there are many fields in the form, the JavaScript
         validation becomes too complex.
         </P>
         <P>
    The JavaScript class presented here makes the form validations many times easier.
         </P>
         <P>
         The idea is to create a set of "validation descriptors" associated with each element
         in a form. The "validation descriptor" is nothing but a string specifying the type of
         validation to be performed.
         </P>
         <P>
         Each field in the form can have 0, 1, or more validations. For example, the input should
         not be empty, should be less than 25 chars, should be alpha-numeric, etc
         </P>
         You can associate a set of validation descriptors for each input field in the form.
         <a name="3"></a>
         <h3>Using The Script</h3>
         1.Include gen_validatorv2.js in your html file just before closing the HEAD tag<br><br>
         <CODE>
         <script language="JavaScript" src="gen_validatorv2.js" type="text/javascript"></script><BR>
         </head><BR>
         </CODE><br>
         2. Just after defining your form,
         Create a form validator object passing the name of the form<br><br>
         <CODE class='htm'>
          <FORM name='myform' action=""><BR>
          <!----Your input fields go here --><BR>
          </FORM><BR>
         </CODE><CODE>
          <SCRIPT language="JavaScript"><BR>
          var frmvalidator  = new Validator("myform");<BR>
         </CODE>
         <br>
         <br>
         3. Now add the validations required<br><br>
         <CODE>
              frmvalidator.addValidation("FirstName","alpha");
         </CODE><br><br>
         the first argument is the name of the field and the second argument is the
         validation descriptor, which specifies the type of validation to be performed.<br>
         You can add any number of validations.The list of validation descriptors are provided
         at the end of the documentation.<br>
         The optional third argument is the error string to be displayed if the validation
         fails.<br>
         <br>
         <CODE>
              frmvalidator.addValidation("FirstName","alpha");<br>
              frmvalidator.addValidation("FirstName","req","Please enter your First Name");<br>
              frmvalidator.addValidation("FirstName","maxlen=20",<br>
                   "Max length for FirstName is 20");          <br>
         </CODE>     <br>
         <br>
         4. Similarly, add validations for the fields where validation is required.<br>
         That's it! You are ready to go.
         <A name="3"></A>
         <h3>Example</h3>
         The example below will make the idea clearer<br>

         <h3>Some Additional Notes</h3>
         <LI type="disc">The form validators should be created only after defining the HTML form
         (only after the </form> tag. )<br>
         <LI type="disc">Your form should have a distinguished name.
         If there are more than one form
         in the same page, you can add validators for each of them. The names of the
         forms and the validators should not clash.
         <LI type="disc">You can't use the javascript onsubmit event of the form if it you are
         using this validator script. It is because the validator script automatically overrides the
         onsubmit event. If you want to add a custom validation, see the section below
         </LI>
         <A name="5"></A>
         <h3>Adding Custom Validation</h3>
         If you want to add a custom validation, which is not provided by the validation descriptors,
         you can do so. Here are the steps:
         <LI type="disc">Create a javascript function which returns true or false depending on the validation.<br>
         <CODE>
              function DoCustomValidation()<BR>
              {<BR>
                var frm = document.forms["myform"];<BR>
                if(frm.pwd1.value != frm.pwd2.value)<BR>
                {<BR>
                  alert('The Password and verified password does not match!');<BR>
                  return false;<BR>
                }<BR>
                else<BR>
                {<BR>
                  return true;<BR>
                }<BR>
              }<BR>
         </CODE><br>
         <LI type="disc">Associate the validation function with the validator object.<br>
         <CODE>
         frmvalidator.setAddnlValidationFunction("DoCustomValidation");
         </CODE><br>
         </LI>
         <P>
         The custom validation function will be called automatically after other validations.
         </P>
         <P>
         If you want to do more than one custom validations, you can do all those
         validations in the same function.
         </P>
         <CODE>
              function DoCustomValidation()<BR>
              {<BR>
                var frm = document.forms["myform"];<BR>
                if(false == DoMyValidationOne())<BR>
                {<BR>
                  alert('Validation One Failed!');<BR>
                  return false;<BR>
                }<BR>
                else<BR>
                if(false == DoMyValidationTwo())<BR>
                {<BR>
                  alert('Validation Two Failed!');<BR>
                  return false;<BR>
                }<BR>
                else<BR>
                {<BR>
                  return true;<BR>
                }<BR>
              }<BR>
         </CODE><br>
         where DoMyValidationOne() and DoMyValidationTwo() are custom functions for
         validation.
         <A name="6"></A>
         <h3>Clear All Validations</h3>
         In some dynamically programmed pages, it may be required to change the validations in the
         form at run time. For such cases, a function is included which clears all validations in the
         validator object.<br><br>
         <CODE>
         frmvalidator.clearAllValidations();
         </CODE><br>
         <br>
         this function call clears all validations you set.<br>
         You will not need this method in most cases.
         <a name="7"></a>

    The code is not working because you made a mistake somewhere, duh! So figure out what (hint: firefox javascript console, it's your friend) and fix it!
    And next time when you post code: use the [ code ]  tags to pretty format your code, as it is now it's unreadable.

  • Warning message in Oracle Workflow notification

    Hi,
    I have a requirement, where a warning message is to be shown to the user when he presses the Approve button of a notification.
    I know that through post notification function, validations for a particular notification can be performed and an error message can be shown to the user using RESULT := 'ERROR: error_msg'
    But can a warning message be shown ? If yes how?
    Thanks in advance.
    Souri Guha

    I would try by using a parameter to tell whether the warning message for the notification has been displayed. First time the notification is being approved the function raises the warning message and sets that attribute to indicate the warning has been displayed. Next attempt to respond the notification your function will check that attribute has been set and will do nothing, just let the notification go responded.
    You might as well present the warning message in the notification body and introduce another attribute to get the acknowledgement from the user. Only when that attribute is set to YES (acknowledge) will the post-notification function actually let the notification be approved, otherwise an error is presented for the user to acknowledge.
    Hope this helps
    Alejandro

  • How can I open a new browser window!!!  Very Challenging!!!

    I have a form (name=MAIN) with a submit button (name=Button A). Button A opens a new browser window (name=SEARCH), via an HTML form target tag (<FORM TARGET=A>). Window SEARCH has multiple submit buttons (10-15). Each button has a different action which is handled by a servlet (form name and button name are passed to a servlet as a hidden field in the form to determine the action), which is setup to be an action handler. When a button in the SEARCH window is clicked the results are retrieved from an Oracle database and should be displayed in the text fields in window MAIN.
    For example, some results may be displayed in window SEARCH (_self) and and other results may be required to be sent to window MAIN depending on the button clicked.
    How can I setup window SEARCH so each button can have a different target window (some may be window MAIN or other windows)? Using a form tag for each button doesn't give desirable results. Is there a way to do this with JSP or some form of Java code?
    A form tag can only have one target. Basically I have one form with multiple submit buttons. How can I get it to send each submit buttons results to a specific window?
    Thanks.

    <!-- try this -->
    <script language="JavaScript1.2">
    function mysubmit(mytarget){
    document.myform.target=mytarget;
    document.myform.submit();
    function validation(myform){
    //validation stuff
    return [true | false];
    </script>
    <form target='none' name='myform' action='myaction.jsp' method='post' [onsubmit='return validation(this)']>
    <input type=button name='submit1' value='submit1' onclick='mysubmit("target1")'>
    <input type=button name='submit2' value='submit2' onclick='mysubmit("target2")'>
    <input type=button name='submit3' value='submit3' onclick='mysubmit("target3")'>
    <input type=button name='submit4' value='submit4' onclick='mysubmit("target4")'>

  • Insufficient privileges error while calling the seeded page on button click

    hi all
    I am working on Customers Online module.
    I have added a normal button on a standard page through personalization .
    The destination for the button is set to call the seeded Create organization page
    destination="OA.jsp?OAFunc=XXIIMC_NG_ORG_CREATE&amp;OAHP=IMC_NG_MAIN_MENU&amp;OASF=IMC_NG_ORG_CREATE"
    System Admin --> functions --> XXIIMC_NG_ORG_CREATE is a copy of standard function IMC_NG_ORG_CREATE.
    It calls the page "OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/imc/ocong/party/organization/webui/ImcCreateOrg&HzPuiAddressEvent=CREATE"
    When i click on the button i get the error *"You have insufficient privileges for the current operation. Please contact your System Administrator"*
    1. The profiles *"FND Function Validation Level"* and *"FND Validation Level"* are set to NONE
    2. Bounced apache also.
    3. The responsibility Customers Online Superuser is assigned to my user.
    We are doing R12 upgrade. The similar functionality is working fine in 11i.
    Please let me know what could be the reason of this error and how to correct it.

    Hi,
    Grant is not given to the create organization page. Ask your DBA for this issue.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Sir! No Sir! :)
    I will try to explain.
    If I do have table with russian letter, than creating index creation will fail, no matter name of index :(
    But if I will prepare copy of my table with english name (including meta-data) - index creations is succesfull.
