just got my new laptop Satellite L500-1dt T3000 4gb
However its now asking me for the product key...
Where do I find this please... as you can guess I'm new to all this tech stuff.....

I dont understand why the Windows is asking for serial key
I mean the preinstalled OS has been activated already.
Are you using the Toshiba preinstalled OS?
Try to recover it again using the HDD recovery procedure.
You need to press F8, then choose Repair my Computer and then choose Toshiba HDD recovery.
Then follow the instruction on the screen.

When I try to add features to Win 8.1, from control panel menu, my encore tablet ask the product key of Windows.
I wrote the prod. key from the paper from the box witch come with the tablet but my Windows say # this key won t work# .

I downloaded student version of LR from amazon and the order has a license key but no product key. The verification process asks for product key?

I downloaded the student version of Lightroom 5 from Amazon and cannot complete the verification process. The order has a "license key" and they ask for "product code". The license key on my order will not work as the product code??? What should I do?

When I purchased the student version, everything worked the way it should. The code that was in the package was the code I needed to obtain my serial number. I have not purchased the student version directly from Adobe or anywhere else as a download. You will probably have to contact Amazon or Adobe customer service to have them help you get this straightened out.

MS Word Starter 2010 continually asks for product key yet keeps closing.

When I try to open the free pre-installed MS Word Starter on my PC I am prompted to enter my 25 character product key. After doing this a I receive ‘Your product key is valid’ on pressing the ‘Continue’ button MS starter opens yet three seconds later the
same box appears prompting me to enter my product key again. On entering the product key again I receive a further confirmation my key is valid. On pressing ‘Continue’ the box closes yet so does MS Starter 2010.
It used to work when the PC was new.
I have run ‘Repair’ MS Starter and ‘Repair’ MS Office 2010
The same happens with MS Exel starter.
I use MS Word 2010 day to day which works fine.

No I probably did not uninstall it from the old computer and that machine
was scrapped some years back.
Just to recap, I use Word 2010 and Excel 2010 every day and they work OK.
As I understand it these programmes, Excel & Word 2010, is what I got from
downloading the MS Student & Teachers discs?
So in my limited understanding, as they both work OK, I don't appear to have
a problem with the license being used twice. Do I understand that
correctly?
My problem is that on the rare occasions I decide to dip into the MS
Starter Programmes, a window appears asking for a product key. When I enter the
key for the MS Student and Teachers disc it says its valid, Word Starter opens,
the box asking for the product key appears again and when entered both windows
close. I don't quite understand why It asks for a product key for something
factory pre-loaded?

Server 2012 R2 Essentials Trial Installation from USB asking for Product Key

Hi,
I've just downloaded Server 2012 R2 Essentials trial iso from Microsoft site (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-server-2012-r2-essentials).
The downloaded iso file is 9600.16384.WINBLUE_RTM.130821-1623_X64FRE_SERVER_SOLUTION_EN-US-IRM_SSSO_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5.iso
I created a bootable USB using Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer-en-US.exe installer and it automatically copied the server 2012 files from the iso file.
Once my server (HP MicroServer) is booted up from the USB, the server 2012 installation is asking me to key in the product key.
Please, can someone help me this. I just want to install a trial version.

Downloaded Evaluation Version of Windows Server 2012 Standard- install is asking for product key

I downloaded the evaluation version of Windows server 2012 standard from the Microsoft TechNet site.
When I try to install server 2012 as a new virtual, I'm prompted for the product key for server 2012.
I do not have the key. How do I get the key? Or, why is this happening on a evaluation version?
Does anyone out there have the key for Windows server 2012 standard evaluation version, or know where I can get it?

Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in endless reboot loop

This is a detailed bug report so please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm you've had the same happen to you, I'll be grateful.
I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I even used to work for Toshiba so rest assured I like the machine. But I've got a problem with its recovery software. I just bought a laptop, Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I will occasionally have to field panic calls along the lines of "it's become too slow", "how do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe it's got a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was the automatic recovery, i.e. how to bring the HD back to "as new" state.
So I booted into the machine, answered the questions until I got into the OS proper, and then ran the "make a recovery DVD" program. Double layer DVD verified ok. With the freshly made DVD, I swapped the supplied HD for a spare I had (much smaller: only 40 GB instead of 320) and booted the rescue DVD hoping that it would remake me a clean system on the blank drive.
It did repartition the drive according to its scheme, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for Data including the recovery files. It did install the system in the Windows partition. It then rebooted into the installed Windows 7 to finalize the installation. There, trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until I stopped it.
Loop:
* reboot
* black screen with bright 4-colour windows logo "starting windows"
* black screen with light blade and "setup is preparing your computer for first use"
* blue "welcome" white screen with "please wait" and horizontal bar with green blob, saying "Finishing the installation may take several minutes. Please dont interrupt or shutdown the computer!"
* blue screen saying it's shutting down
Repeat the above forever.
I have seen it reboot way over 10 times over the course of several hours. And every time it pretends it's the first time it does that. Surely that's not normal!
I tried stopping it with ctrl-alt-del and task manager but the white screen would go on top of even the task manager, making it hard to kill any processes or even inspect what they were. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it switched off. Then when it rebooted it said if I wanted safe mode. I tried that. It went into the routine above and at some point it said it couldn't proceed with the installation if it was in safe mode. So it rebooted into regular mode and then... finished! It finally broke out of the endless loop!
Then it asked me all the usual questions about language, registration etc, as it had done the first time I had turned it on. This seemed good. I finally got back into a newly installed OS and all seemed fine, except I later discovered that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even re-did the procedure on the supplied hard disk instead of my spare one: first I nuked the windows partition, then I did rescue from the HD (with F8), not with the DVD I had made. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboots.
After I stopped it, it sort-of-worked, as above, but now some other programs were missing, notably the Toshiba DVD player.
(*) motivated by: better try this now, with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, than when the computer is away at its owner's home and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a phone line. Been there before.
Now, that specific one (DVD player) I could download from the support page and it installed fine; but what else might be missing or not working that I didn't notice? Clearly the restore process isn't working as it should.
Am I the first or only one to whom this happens? Am I doing anything wrong? Is there anything else I should try?
I need to make sure this restore procedure works flawlessly while I still have the computer in my hands. If it doesn't, there's no chance I'm going to be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie once I am asked to clean up the laptop over the phone a few months from now.

[Update: while looking for the right place where I could post this I found that other people are reporting the same problem. It's definitely a bug in the distributed recovery software for W7-64, not an isolated problem of my machine. See for example

I am glad to report some unexpected SUCCESS!
I left the computer at what it was doing when I wrote the previous
post. I came back to it an hour later or so (I had stopped counting
the reboots, though occasionally I'd hear that typical chime from the
other room, saying it was doing one more cycle) and I noticed
something slightly different: the white screen with "finishing the
installation may take several minutes" had a blue blob, not a green
blob, in the progress bar, and the blob was rectangular rather than
rounded. Very odd! Something different had happened, like a change of
theme. And a little while after that, the process really finished and
I got to the white screen that asks about what language etc etc, like
when I first turned on the new computer.

All I can conclude from this experience:
Even a reinstall that works will DEFINITELY involve many reboots that
seem to be getting nowhere. Apparently, progress is being made, even
though it looks like the process is stuck in a loop of reboots.
It would just be nice if it said something like "Before I finish
restoring, I'm going to have to reboot 26 times, please hang on; now
doing cycle 8 of 26". (Numbers are made up.) It doesn't, but just
knowing about it is helpful.
Perhaps worth redoing the install once more and making a note of how
long it really takes from beginning to end when it does work.
I still don't know if the process I described in the first post was
really stuck because of some other error or whether it would have
ended eventually. If I wanted to be really sure I could re-restore
everything on that hard disk once more.
I have no idea whether wiping all partitions from the disk before
reinstalling did any good or not: it shouldn't have made a difference
since, as I said, I noticed that the first thing the restore program
did was redo all the partitions itself. On the other hand we have
experimental proof that the restore can work on a HD without any
partitions.

data point that for you it had worked. That's what made me try again
and leave the computer on indefinitely through the innumerable
reboots, just in case.
I'll repost a definitive answer on how long a successful restore
process should take once I get round to redoing it on the supplied 320
GB HD.

Satellite L500-1DT won't start

My Satellite L500-1DT laptop won't start it goes into the start-up repair procedure automatically viewing the diagnostic and repair details it says it cannot determine what the problem is.
If I select the advanced options I am asked to select a key board but then I get a message that says you must logon on to gain access to the repair functions and all I can do then is reboot.
If I press F8 and try safe mode I just get the same repair features. I don't know what to do to proceed as all the options take me to the same place. Any help would be appreciated

I purchased Microsoft Office for Mac through the Apple website.. I have downloaded all from the disk into my Mac, no problem with all the other Word etc, but Outlook is asking for the key number: I have put it in but its obviously not the right one...????

unfortunately - you can not. you can't even buy outlook by itself at microsoft's own website.
does it have to be outlook? maybe you can get away with using something else that's outlook compatible.
how about trying Thunderbird for Mac OS?
or maybe you can call apple and let them know you purchase the wrong version - they might give you a break and just pay the difference for the home and business version.

Why am I asked for developers key in ctbw ?

Hello all,
I have used ctbw in my dev box and created characteristics. I re-did the same procedure in QA box of R/3 as well ( did not transport but re created the datasources) and now I am trying to do the same thing in the production box and this time its asking for developer's key while to to create the 1CL_O...datasource...it does create the classification/characteristics datasource but at the laststep it ask for developers key.
Why is this different in 3 boxes?
Also is it advisable to use developer's key in production box
Can someone explain.

Now I tried doing everything from scratch again from dev system. But my transports are failing with RC=08 with errors like

Object OSOA 1CL_ABUD001 has not yet been imported successfully
Object OSOA 1CL_ACPE001 has not yet been imported successfully
Object OSOA 1CL_OFUN001 has not yet been imported successfully
I had cleaned up the QA system before doing this transport,because earlier I had generated these datasources in QA.
Can you guy stell what am i doing wrong, or do I have to delete some table entry or something in QA before transporting?

Evaluation copy of Windows 8.1 Enterprise is asking for install key

I downloaded the x64 iso from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/hh699156.aspx and I am attempting a clean install the thing keeps asking for a KEY. Which the documentation says it shouldn't do but here I am. I tried the 4 win 8.1

According to URL "Upon installation, Windows will prompt you to activate. A product key is not required for this software."
I think you should have a skip button during installation.

Doesnot ask for access key. error No authorization for the 'S_DEVELOP'

After applying patches,in transaction F-43 one of the field Inv Recd Date( BSEG-ZOLLD) is not getting displayed.
after analzing we found that ZOLLD is not there in screen SAPMF05A(0302).
in my development server when i try to change the screen it says "You have no authorization for the authorization object 'S_DEVELOP', which would allow you to change the screen concerned"
my profiles contains sap_all and sap_new rights even then I am getting this error.
Why doesnt it ask for access key ?

Ehm, do you really think the SU24 settings for a transaction influence the changeability of it's underlying screens/programs etc? It will not matter at all what you do with S_DEVELOP in SU24.

After Effects keeps asking for a key

Every time I launch AE CS6 (I'm a CC member) it keeps asking for a key. This is when I select License This Software. It recognises my Adobe ID but not my subscription. I did load a trial version of AECS6 in February is this the problem?
Prem pro fails to load with error0XC000007b... and AI says up to date but cant find a launch icon. Cant even find the downloaded files. I have spent the whole day on the Creative Cloud trying to get it to work. I have early versions of some of these programs installed is this the problem? I'm at my wits end as I have client projects that need attending to.

Click License... and it wants a key. 2, I have been a member for 24 hours. 3. I use only one adobe ID. The issue did not happen with Audition CS6.I I deleted all adobe CS6 files using the CC Cleaner. Also deleted the hidden file (OPM.db file). I subsequently D/L AE from the Cloud. It D/L'd, Extracted then Failed to boot. I checked its error report and it was ... WTF?

Userexit asking for access key in CMOD

I am trying to write source code for an user exit in CMOD by creating a project and assigning enhancement to it.
When i click on user exit and press change it asks for access key .

1) Create the project
2) add the enhancments
3) Double click on the EXIT_**********
4) Place the cursor at the include double click and hit the enter so that you will get a pop up asking to create that include
5) write the code & activate it
6) back to enhancemnt screen and activate .
You should not enter in into the exit in change mode, enter into the exit(f.m) in display mode and then Place the cursor at the include double click and hit the enter so that you will get a pop up asking to create that include so that you can write the code in that include and activate.
