Save executing command to file

Question

heloo all.....
i have problem please help me......
iwant to execute linux command and save the result to rhe file but until now doesn't success
i was try like it
Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime()
run.exec("nmap -sP '192.168.1.2-254' > /bin/nmap.txt");
i was try it in linux command and the result saved in /bin/nmap.txt but when i try in my program using servlet nothing result saved to /bin/nmap.txt.

but i have new problem.
when i execute the same command but just for 127.0.0.1 (nmap -sP 127.0.0.1) and then i make reader using
Process p = run.exec(" nmap -sP 127.0.0.1");
DataInputStream read = new DataInputStream(p.getInputStream());
and then i write the result read to the file and it success to write all of result but if i try to other ip address it just write:
Starting nmap ..... bla..bla...bla........
i don't know why.....
