Save Interactive Reports in Apex 4.0 for a specific user

Hello all
Here's the setup: I have APEX 4.0.1 running on Oracle EE 10.2.0.5 on Windows 2003.
I built a GPS application which allows users to see their vehicles on a google map...but this is beside the point.
My problem is that when a user saves a specific Interactive Report (after having done some customization as to columns & computaitons etc) the report is visible to any one that connects to the application.
I am using a custom made authentication (in Apex I use no authentication and have a function validate the user logon before he is taken to the main page). this is because users are divided into companies, sub companies and departments and each user is granted access to a page in function of his presence in this hierarchy.
My question is: how can I implement the feature whereby saved interactive reports are visible to only those users that saved them?

what does APP_USER show for you? Is it the same for all users?
I'm not sure if I fully understood your sentence "in Apex I use no authentication and have a function validate the user logon".
Does that mean you are NOT using a "custom authentication scheme" for that? If you answer that question with yes, how should APEX be able to distinguish the different users? And I still don't understand why you don't use it, because also with a "custom authentication scheme" you can redirect the user to the page he is privileged for.

Interactive report gives an error only for a specific user

An interactive report based on a very complicated select gives an error only when a specific user is logged on.
The error is:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got CLOB.
For other users logging using this page it works fine.
Authentication for this application is done using a stored function.
The query does not use the current userid in it.
Why does it fail for a specific user? if there is a problem, it should fail all the time.

By what you said the report dont have any date parameters or no date columns.
"Query execution was not successful ORA-01843 not a valid month." This means it is related with date mask passing a invalid month into date column or argument to to_date function.Check once the session date that is 'dd-mm-yy' or anything else

Also a general question whenever I am trying to mark any question as 'Helpful', the status is not changing. Is there anything I am missing.While you flag it 'helpful' or 'correct',it takes you to other screen where you see "Yes, the question is now answered" click the radio button and then click ok button.

How to create Updateable Interactive report in APEX 3.2.1.00.11

I have an interactive report and am asked to add few more user defined columns, some of them should be free text input box type and couple of others are dropdown list (with Y/N options). I can do that if that was just a SQL report but with interactive report, I am not much aware of if it can be done. I know a way to work around this though - like create a link to direct to a new form page and update there but that is not what I wanted. I need to have those columns in the interactive report itself and should be updateable as well. Is this possible?

Interactive report with apex 3.2 oracle 11g

Hello all,
We are using oracle apex 3.2 oracle 11g .
i am using interactive reports using apex where the query is a outer join. In the interactive rport i am using collections frame work. apex_collection.create_collection_from_query_b
I am getting the following error ..
ORA-04030 OUT OF PROCESS MEMORY WHEN TRYING TO ALLOCATE 16328 BYTES

Are you saying the you are creating a collection using the create_collection_from_query_b API and then using the select c001,c002,.. from apex_collections in the Query of the IR?
Is the creation of the collection failing (process) or the collection is getting created and you are getting the error when region tries to render the report?

Reporting Services through ISA server for All Authenticated Users

Hello colleagues.
I have MS SQL 2012 server with Reporting Services and it work via link:

In LAN all work fine, but I want publish this resource via ISA for All Authenticated Users.
When in publish rule I configure (in Condition) "All users" - all work fine, but when I configure "All Authenticated Users" - I have trouble on web form on
https://reports2.domain.com/reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPat... - scripts not work, because it run how "anonymous" (I see on ISA logging) and ISA block scripts.
I can't use "All Users", because it's not secure.
Maybe somebody publish Reporting Services through ISA server for All Authenticated Users?
OR maybe - how on Reporting Services configure Negotiate authenticated for scripts?

All users or applications who request access to report server content or operations must be authenticated using the authentication type configured on the report server before access is allowed. The AuthenticationType named RSWindowsNegotiate is supported
by Reporting Services. To configure Windows Authentication on the Report Server, please see:

Besides, we can publish report server via ISA server. Please note that you should use a new web port number with a new listener which shouldn’t be used by other web site for report server. Reference:

Draft Documents View is empty for a specific user

Hi,
For a specific user, when he goes on the Document Draft Reports, the Sales Document sub-form is empty. Meaning that when he ticks the "Sales Documents" option, the boxes to choose specific Sales Document does not exist (e.g. Sales Quotation, Sales Orders etc.). This happens no matter what are the other options (e.g Open Only or User Option).
The other lists (Purchasing and Stock) are working properly. Again, all the other users do not experience the same issue as the form is working properly
The installation is on 2007A SP01
Any ideas?

I'm sure this is a Bug in your system. If you have any of the adons then please Disconnect it and also try to create new Super User and give him license and then check with this new user for the same output.......
Else I'm afraid you need to raise a support ticket to SAP.......

Extract the userID that set a role for a specific user

Hi all @SAP Forums,
I'm going to write a simple report to extract some information about users and role assignments in the system I'm working on.
The requirements is quite simple; for every user in the USR02 table, I have to extract some info about the roles the user has.
In order to do so, it's quite straightforward to find roles for a particular user looking into the AGR_USERS table, but ... I'd like to know if there's a way to find the user who set the role assignment for that specific user; the problem is that I cannot find that information in any AGR* tables, so I start to think it's not a stored information I can retrieve in any way.
Any hints/suggests you can give me? Thanks in advance.

A (key) user, say A123456, sets a role for another user (A00000) in SRM... let's suppose now A00000 becomes a buyer. I'd like to know if there's a way, starting from the user A00000, to understand WHO had given him his role (in this case, A123456) and WHEN... I can see the CHANGE_DAT field in AGR_USERS about the "when"... where can I (if I can, obviously) find WHO set the role for A00000 ?

Adobe reader 11 wont load signed feature for a specific user on VDI

Hey all,
New to the forums so please if i mess something up let me know.
We Run xendesktop 5 for our vdi systems and we have one user, only one user, that when they load the adobe reader there sign document feature does not load what so ever, i have tried multiple test accounts that have same permission and it loads just fine, other users running same desktop the feature loads just fine. i am really baffuled as to why the feature will not load for this specific user. just a troubleshooting note, i had the user log into a physical machine with the same adobe reader version and the sign feature loaded for them just fine, its only in the vdi system where it will not load. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the requirement
May be you can open it for a specific Cons Group(assuming User has authorization for that group) which translates back to opening it for specific user only
If user needs to work on more than 1 cons groups & has authorization then a step by step approach will help

Allow users to save Interactive Reports

I have scanned this forum but cannot seem to find what I'm looking for. Can someone please tell me exactly what needs to happen so that users can save their own versions of Interactive Reports? What do the authentication settings need to be? How does the user need to be logged in? Etc. We are using APEX 3.1 with 10g release 2. We use our own tables to do user authentication and authorization. Currently users are logged in using the post_login process so the APP_USER reflects their userid, but yet they do not see the Save Report option in an interactive report even though the option is checked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the input. I think the issue may be that I am noit logging the user in correctly so they are still APEX_PUBLIC_USER. The way our authentication works is that I get the user's id from a cookie passed by our companies secured login process. Once I obtain their ID from the cookie, I want to log them into my applications using that ID. If the cookie does not exist, they are redirected to the corporate login page. Do you know how I should be loggin the users into my applications? As I said, I tried using the wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.post_login API to log them in with the user id from the cookie, but it doesn't seem to be doing what I need.

Interactive Report actions don't work for users (i.e. for non-developers)

I've Interactive Reports that work fine in development. But when I or other users run it in non-development mode, no feature or actions (sorting, filtering, select columns, aggregate, etc.) work. At run time (going directly to the URL ...apex/f?p=APP_ID), the actions menu is enabled for users and it allows them to go through the process of filtering (select column, pick opeartor, pick value) and click-apply, but nothing happens after that! The interactive report comes back with the data as it was before the filtering was applied. Same thing happens with other action-menu features (no affect).
Please help since I've a demo tomorrow to show these features. Thanks.

Interactive Reports and APEX 3.0

hi -- I built some initial prototype pages (forms, reports, etc) in Apex 3.0. Have recently upgraded to 3.2, and in building more reports I see that there
is an option for an Interactive Report (and it's the default). Was this available in 3.0? I was new enough to APEX that I may not have picked up on it if it was... but what I can see is that for the Reports I created in 3.0 (Where the region is PL/SQL function body returning SQL Query) there is no option, in the Region Definition, to migrate the report to an interactive report (as it appears there should be, from looking at post:

The only task option is undo region source.
If Interactive Reports weren't available in 3.0, is there any way to convert existing reports? Or would I just need to re-create them?
Also, is there a tabular form that also supports interactive report features? I'm guessing not... but thought I'd ask.

Interactive Reports were introduced in Application Express 3.1:

I will try and find a link about the conversion details (updated below).
You only get the conversion option on the right hand of the screen for the Standard SQL Reports, not "SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)".
If you were to change it to the standard SQL type (which may not be possible) it would give you the option after applying the change. Interactive Reports only work on standard SQL queries, and not SQL generated from a function body.

Interactive Report Filtering apex 3.2.1

Hello there,
I've been searching around for some time and I can't seem to find much on filtering saved reports.
For example I have a report which displays information on a set of organisations and depending on the user, they can only see their own allocated organisations reports.
However, if someone saves a report (i.e. create a sort on details and save it as a saved report), it shows up on another person's interactive report as a saved report despite looking at a different organisation's details. Is it possible to only show saved reports to people who created the report for a particular organisation?

As I understand and tested, saved reports are visible only for that user who saves it.
Developer can save default report, that is visible to everybody.
I do not know where start looking your problem. But it sounds something relating your authorization
What kind authorization you use ?
Is page public ?

i've just had a look at the new Web Sheets and improved Interactive reports in the Apex 4.0 early adopters. I was under the impression that we were going to get an on-screen edit facility much like the one in Roel's blog? Am I missing something?
