Save Select List states and load it on reload
Hi all,
I have a form in which the user have to choose the values from 5 Select Lists connected with LOVs. If the user selects values in the first 3 lists, but in the fourth one the value which he/she looks for does not exist, the user clicks on a link "Other" opening a page where he/she can enter the value and this value is added to the corresponding LOV on close of the page. The problem is that on the main page the Select List is not updated. The page should be reloaded. And if the page is reloaded, all the values selected in the first three lists are gone and the user should select everything again.
So the question is how to reload one select list keeping the selected values from the others?

It seems to be something to do with the non-classic. Maybe a Java confict?

Help with select list item and dynamics action
G'Day Apex Gurus,
I having problems trying to achieve to trigger the help window of a select item automatically. A help window is triggered when the select item label is clicked but my client would like to be triguered automatically as soon as the user click to see the options in the select list.
I think that I should be able to do it with dynamic actions but I can not get it to work.
I know when someone click on the label of the select list item trigger this JavaScript

So I want to trigger the javascript also when the user click of the select list item and pull down the options and for that I think that Dynamic actions is the way to go but I can't get it right.

I set up a test case in exactly the same way and it worked fine for me. I created a page item called P1_DA_DEMO and added some static select list values then added some help text. The settings I used are below, I suggest you try again but also make sure you have no other Javascript errors on the page. Use a tool like firebug to check.

Selection type: Item(s)
Item(s): P1_DA_DEMO <- a selection list item

2. Go to another website, in the document workspace I try to Add webpart -> Browse -> Upload the STP file, but after that the List A webpart still doesn't appear.

need the user to be able to select multiple items in a list box and also to enter a Begin Date and End Date. I then need my report to return only the records that meet all selected criteria. It works fine with a ComboBox and 1 selection but can't
get it to work with a List Box so they can select multiple items. Any help is greatly appreciated while I still have hair left.The query should return all records.
Let's say you have the following controls on your report criteria form:
txtStart: text box, formatted as a date.
txtEnd: text box, formatted as a date.
lbxMulti: multi-select list box.
cmdOpenReport: command button used to open the report.
The text boxes are used to filter the date/time field DateField, and the list box to filter the number field SomeField.
The report to be opened is rptReport.

Select Lists - Setting and Referencing (Using) the Select List variable
I have (a login page and) 3 application pages (call them Day, Week, Month), each with similar selection lists and a chart. I have three requirements.
1) When a new selection is made, the value of the selection list variable is updated --that is, it does what select lists do.
2) I need to set the value of the Month selection list variable before the Month page is rendered for the first time -- I need to give it an initial value.
3) When navigating from page to page, say from Month to Week or Day back to Month, I need to have the value of the selection list variable carried to the new page from the value on the previous page.
It sounds simple to me -- something that one could do with an (global) application item. The logic would be like

At http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43250:101 (guest/Ima9Gue8t) is an example where I have each page's select list working (except on the initial visit to the page, where the select variable is null!!!). How can I get the select list value on the new page to sync with the value from the previous page?

Dynamic Select List - XML and umlaut
Hi, I've recently implement a dynamic select list as per [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=327306], however it seems to break if I have any words containing an umlaut. I've tried setting the header on the Application Process to UTF-8 (OWA_UTIL.mime_header ('text/xml', FALSE, 'utf-8');) but it doesn't seem to make any difference. The word in particular giving me problems is Kühne - it's the only non english entry so far, but I would expect others in the future.
Does anyone have any ideas how to allow this character to be parsed correctly? Short of using replace to check for this and every other possible character I'm not sure what else to do.

Select list width and printing output
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to set the width of a SELECT LIST control? I have tried to set but it is always dynamic and depends on the width of the data items of the list which are supposed to be displayed. Can i fix the width, jsut like simple text field.
I want to print a text from my pl/sql procedure on the web page from where i am caling the procedure. I tried using DBMS_OUTPUT, but vain. I actually want to print a customized error message on my web page at the occurrence of any exception.

SalmanUnfortunately it is not working. I have following exception block in my procedure. control will transferred to the exception block if my query to remote database failed over the database link which this procedure just created.

List A has a multi-selection column with multi-values.
Form A has fields populated from the data in List A by using a data connection in the form. I have a workflow that updates the values or creates a new item in List A. All fields work except the mufti-selection. The multi-selection has ;# separating
the values and I am having trouble setting the list box properly(checking of the selecting values) instead it concats all values on one line. I basically need to get the multi-selection column from list 1 to show exactly in the Form A and be able to
update the selection with the workflow. I can do this with single values with no problem. the multi-selection list is difficult. I read somewhere I can use a repeating table but I am not sure the workflow will work with that. That is only a read and not
a write.Wow over my head a little. I understand what an array is with script but not how to write the script to handle it. I made this:

Selecting View States and TabNavigator Canvases
Hello all Flex fans...
I have two questions for somebody who has done this before.
It will take a bit of explaining so bear with me.
I have a datagrid called "selClaimant" as the starting point
of my application. When I select something from the selClaimant
datagrid I change view states to a view called "ClaimView". In the
ClaimView state I have a TabNavigator control with several canvases
called "Claimant" and "Claims" and several others.
My first question is when I select something from the
selClaimant datagrid how do I ensure that the Claimant canvas is
displayed in the TabNavigator and not the Claims canvas???
My second question is similar to the first but with a twist.
First off the Claims canvas also has two view states (call them
"ViewOne" and "ViewMany"). ViewOne has a datagrid control called
selClaim that allows me to select a claim that has been filed by
the claimant. ViewMany allows me to see all the details about the
selected claim. When I select a claimant from the selClaimant
datagrid I query the database to see how many claims that the
selected claimant has filed. If there has only been one claim filed
I want the starting state to be the ViewMany canvas when the user
clicks on the Claims TabNavigator. If there is more than one claim
in the database then I want the ViewOne to be displayed so I can
select which claim I want the detail on.
I store the number of claims in an array so I can use the
array length to see if I have one or more claims but I am not sure
how to logically force my view state and canvas state.

canvas I want selected. 0 is the first tab in the navigator. Good
thing I grew up on UNIX and can still remember how to count
starting with a 0 instead of a 1. :)

I think I know the answer to both of these questions, but what the hell maybe the obvious isn't always the case and a yes to either would be really cool so

Creating a tool to readout parts of the CMOS Memory (where the settings are stored) is not a problem. Here is the data a simple BASIC Program puts outs:
The tricky point is to relate each and every one of these numbers to their particular function within the parameters of my particular BIOS Setup structure. To translate these numbers back to the actual options in the BIOS Setup mask is a possible task. However, it takes many, many hours. This in itself is not a problem either: the crucial point is that this needs to be done for any particular BIOS Version that is looked at.
If this relational problem is considered, it easy to understand that pen&paper and/or a digital camera are better ways to get the job done. They do not take hours of programming which would need to be repeated for any particular BIOS Version. And because of that, such tools are a complete waste of time, a complete waste of energy and ambition and also a pointless activity. And (to take the arguement one step farther) that is precisely why you will not be able to find anything useful using Google. Useful tools for this kind of task don't exist, because they are pointless.
Now, if that is to hard to understand, I don't know what to say. Reacting with swearing is probably the only possible response. However, it does not rule out the fact that your memory in conjunction with a pen and a piece of paper and/or a camera is the best option here.

3 buttons and 2 select lists in a single line

I have an application which has 3 region buttons ( say, b_1, b_2, b_3) and 2 selects lists (say, sl_1, sl_2). I want to display all the five buttons and items in a single line in the following order:
b_1 b_2 sl_1 b_3 sl_2
I have set Begin on new line = no
and Begin on new field = no, for both the two select lists.
But it does not seem to work.
Do anyone have any idea, how to sort out this issue?

I have created two select lists P1_X and P1_Y. These items are hidden on page load event. When the associated button is clicked the list should appear on the page.
Written the following code in 'Pre element text' for each of the items:
P1_X :: <input type="button" value="X" onclick="f_X();" class="t17Button" />
P1_Y:: <input type="button" value="Y" onclick="f_Y();" class="t17Button" />
Where, f_X() and f_Y() are displaying the select lists.
As you can see, the select lists are appearing just below the html buttons, which I want side by side with the buttons.
Could you please figure out the issue?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to pre-select some items in the Multiple-Selection List Box.
I recommend to follow the steps below to achieve this goal:
Click Default Values under Data tab in InfoPath, expand the dataFields and navigate to the Multiple-Selection List Box field.
Set the Default Value of the Multiple-Selection List Box field.
Right click the field under the Multiple-Selection List Box group, then select Add another Value Below and set the Default Value for this field.
Repeat step3 based on the number of the items that you want to be pre-selected.
