Saved search influences standard search for opportunity

Hello,
the search for opportunity (BT111S_OPPT/Search) i configured that the 7 most important search criteria are visible.
Now we created a saved search for opportunity where only 3 fields are used. This saved search works fine. But if i open later in the day again the standard search also only this 3 fields and not the configured 7 important fields are visible.
How could i change this strange behaviour?

Hi Manfred,
looks like your implementation is not clean. The view will keep the configuration as long as it is instantiated.
A simple check is in the view or window controller which Inbound Plug is called or if there is navigational data (the saved search data) supplied. The way to get the standard configuration from the config tool is shown in the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT of CL_BSP_WD_ADVSEARCH_CONTROLLER.
Maybe play around with the variable INIT_QS...

Saved search for Photo Stream not working in Mavericks

I have a saved search for JPGs in my photo stream so I can easily access them via Finder instead of iPhoto. In Mavericks my saved search no longer sees my latest photo stream iPhone pics. Anyone else notice this? I can see them in iPhoto though. I've tried re-doing the search, etc, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Oh man, I've been beating my head on the desk trying to fix this. The only clue I have is that photos taken from iOS 7 (vs iOS 6) devices after about a week ago (wasn't there an OS X update recently?) don't show up in finder the same. When you dig through the "sub" folder to find the long-named folders with the photostream files in them, hit command+i and check out the "More Info:" section. The recent ones don't have anything in them (see http://d.pr/i/WKzR). Furthermore if you drill down to one of those folders containing such an image (see: http://d.pr/i/nIUP) and try to create a saved search from there it won't show up (see: http://d.pr/i/FOri).
I even tried to create an automator to pull those images out, but when you're searching for a file in any of those new folders finder doesn't see anything.
Not an answer for ya, just more confusion. Let me know if you get any bright ideas.

Search for Opportunity with own partnerfunction

Hello,
i have in the opportunity one customer own partner function Z1.
Now i want to search all opportunities for partner XY in function Z1.
This means i have to add a search attribute to BT111S_OPPT/Search which is the BP_ID of partnerfunction Z1.
Could anybody please provide a kind of docu or the steps to get this done?

As far as I remember you already have 2 standard criterias (partner_fct and partner_id) that answer this requirement.

I updated firefox last night and I can't get t to open. HELP!!! All my saved searches for study are on there so I don't want to download a whole new version. Any ideas on what I can do to sort this out?

Firefox has been asking me to update, and it changed its look so I thought I had updated by accident, but it hadn't so I clicked the update now button and eventually closed computer. Today it won't open from the shortcut or through the main menu. I am now using google chrome to send this but I really need all my bookmarks, and passwords on my existing but not working version of firefox. Can you help please?

Do you have Internet Security Software turned on in your Internet Explorer?
I turned mine off, as I have Norton AV. Go into Internet Explorer and check to see if you have that on and try turning that off...and then try to get back onto FF. You may have to restart your computer, I'm not sure, as I'm not a techie. I just know that the Internet Security Software clashed with my Norton AV.

Saved Search Not working in WEB UI

When I am creating a saved search for opportunity and run it. The results are activities, not opportunity. But it is perfectly working for other saved search (like accounts, etc). Please help me in finding the reason behind this.

Thank you for the reply. There was misunderstanding in understanding the actual issue.
User faces the issue as follows:
"When they try to save a search for visit report, and run it later, they get the action items, not the visit report".
Please note visit report is kind of Activity. Also we havnt implement any badi for saved search. Even I doubt whether this is a standard functionality for activity/visit report, when saved search runs to display the action items.
Please help me on this.

Saved Search as a Stack?

I created a saved search for all my Numbers spreadsheets, and I want to put that in the dock as a stack. How do I do that?

Oy... Me too. Here's what I've found:
1. You can save the search and add it to the sidebar. "Right"/Ctrl click on it and select "Open Enclosing Folder". Find the search and drag it to the Stacks area of the Dock. Ironically enough, we want it as a stack, but it only opens a new window in the Finder with your search (this is ironic because I've heard people wanting this feature for other folders, but they get added as stacks...). Blah! Not what I want, but I'll take it I guess.
2. You can make a custom stack. In my Home directory sits a new folder I created called "Other Stacks", which contains individual folders that are my stacks. Inside each of those I have aliases ("shortcuts" for you Windows switchers out there) of the files/apps I want in my stack. So, alias everything, put it in a folder, put that folder somewhere you can find it easily, then drag it on to the Dock. Voila! A custom stack. Not what you really want for an ever changing situation, but maybe it will help for now if option 1 isn't to your taste.
I just pray they troll these forums looking for user complaints/suggestions =) It'd be nice to have some of these additional features in later updates of Leopard.

Opportunity Search for Status NE (is not) is not supported by SAP Standard

This is a fresh development for my current customer which is not yet completely tested. The last customer had the same requirement, created an OSS-message for it, SAP told him in standard it is not possible and gave up. I think I already heard that too many selection parameters are not supported but I haven't seen it yet in our project. But I have seen that with mabye 100000 excluded transactions there is a time out.
The alternative would be to create a sub-class of the GENIL-class (I think this is CL_CRM_QOPP_RUN_BTIL in your case - search for CL*OPP*IL* ) where the SQL-statement is triggered and redefine the relevant method (which is normally GET_DYNAMIC_QUERY_RESULT) and enhance the SQL-statement. Somewhere is customizing you have to replace the original class with the new class afterwards but right now I don't know where. I have not yet done this from scratch and I need to investigate this a little bit further.
The second alternative would be to modify the select statements in a BADI. I guess it is CRM_BADI_RF_Q1O_READ. But there I only the the possibility to change the STATUS_COMMON-criteria to OBJECT_ID criterias as still STATUS_COMMON NE is not supported in the SQL-statement of the GENIL-class.

Can I customize the standard columns for the search results (list view) specifically?

When searching for emails I would like to adjust the columns in the search results list view, e.g. add the sender's address. This I would like to save as standard columns specifically for the search results list view, since in other contexts I do not need it. However, I can only set standard columns for existing folders, not for the context of "search results".

Any Column headers you choose to display are selected for that saved search folder.

You are still in the same folder, it has simply ''filtered'' what it is displaying, so it will obviously still display the same column headers.

How to use a standard library binary search if I'm not searching for a key?

I'm looking for the tidiest way to code something with maximum use of the standard libraries. I have a sorted set of ints that represent quality levels (let's call the set qualSet ). I want to find the maximum quality level (choosing only from those within qualSet ) for a limited budget. I have a method isAffordable(int) that returns boolean. So one way to find the highest affordable quality is to start at the lowest quality level, iterate through qualSet (it is sorted), and wait until the first time that isAffordable returns false. eg.

}However isAffordable is a slightly complicated fn, so I'd like to use a binary search to make the process more efficient. I don't want to write the code for a binary search as that is something that should be reused, ideally from the standard libraries. I have a solution, but I don't find it very elegant. Here are the important classes and objects.

TreeSet<QualityElement> qualSet When you create an instance of HiQualFinderEl, you pass it a reference to a ComponentList (because it has the isAffordable() method). The HiQualFinderEl.compareTo() function returns 1 or -1 depending on whether the QualityElement being compared to is affordable or not. This approach means that the binary search returns an appropriate insertion point within the list (it will never act as if it found the key).
I don't like this because semantically the HiQualFinderEl is not really an element of the list, it's certainly not a QualityElement (but it inherits from it), and it just feels ugly! Any clever suggestions? Btw, I'm new to Java, old to C++.

Can't search for words anymore after saving PDFs in Preview

Hi everyone,
I would love to use Preview for my day-to-day use of previewing PDFs + highlighting + setting annotations. However, once I have saved the pdf with Preview I can not search for words anymore. If I search for one letter only, I would get cryptic hits like "7;%! 2%8%P%8!".
I am not sure, but I guess when preview saves the pdf using a Quartz PDF context, something happens with the index, or the underlying the font structuring.
Does anyone have had experience with these kinds of troubles?

Hi, thanks for answering quickly, and the heads up on that other thread.
It undoubtedly has to do with the annotations or mark ups (the last, in my case).
In the linked-to thread they end by suggesting that it's because it's has "commenting not allowed" when you see it
using Adobe Reader, File > Properties > Security says Commenting: Not Allowed.
However, some documents with "commenting not allowed set in Adobe Reader I can highlight or annotate fine, without it messing up after saving.
Besides, any document I save as pdf even from Word, will say commenting not allowed in Adobe Reader. So if even my own documents are not highlight- or annotate-able without garbling the text, what documents would these functions be for, then?
I think what somebody mentioned in the other thread about character encodings hold some truth, I see it in documents in Danish with æ ø and å (however, not all!), but not in English-only docs (yet. Have any of you?).

Normally system throws up an error when it reaches the threshold point. Normally the threshold / critical points are arrived at by considering the SAP recommended values and what is the sytem configuration you have got.
In true project scenario because of budget constraints we might not be able to have ideal system configuration which SAP recommends , in that case we have to tune to the system perform at an optimum level considering various aspects
In yr case memory parameters should have been set at level , but for yr job it needed more memory which it could not allocate and throwed an error.

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty

The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

No confirmation for shift-deleting messages in saved searches

I have noticed that there is no confirmation for Shift-deleting messages in saved searches, only in regular mail folders. This is rather dangerous.
I have checked my config editor, and I have have "mail.warn_on_shift_delete" = true, but this seems to apply only to regular mail folders (where I do get the confirmation diaog), not "virtual" ones like saved searches.
This seems like a bug - at least in my usage of virtual folders they are as real as regular folders, and I would like to have the same level of protection against mistakes there.

I figured it out. I had to go to m.google.com/sync in the browser and change a delete setting there. Don't know how it got switched though.
