Saving Adobe forms in R/3

Hi All,
  We are using ISR scenarios (Eg: Personal change request of MSS package) where we have used adobe forms. Manager generates a new form whcih goes to HR co-ordinator as a workitem. But we need to save these forms in R/3 also. because in future, user may want to see that form.
  So where this form gets saved?
Thanks,
Seema

Dear Seema,
AFAIK it is not recommended to store document files directly in SAP production server.
Saving files for being retrieved at any time by users therefore requires consultation with your BASIS for security and storage issue since this is no longer development private issue.
Available options are :
1. saving to remote directory via network file system ( ie mount via NFS or else )
2. saving the file using time pattern in its name to designated directory with a time limit
3. upload the file to FTP server

  • Getting special character while saving adobe form from portal

    Hi All,
    I am getting Special character while saving adobe form. I am using webdynpro java application, in which I am using download file UI element.We are facing this issue after support packs were implemented in staging system.
    Kindly advise.
    Regards
    Shashwat

    Hi,
    We have ABAP system as backend system seperately and Single sign on is configured.
    when we access the portal with domain name line http://hostname.domain/52000/irj/portal, we are able to access the adobe form which is develope on abap system without any issue.
    but our issue started when we are trying to access portal only with hostname as http://hostname:52000/irj/portal
    we are able to login to portal but when we are trying to open the adobe form we are getting error
    No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password
    Since you have configured SSL, I assume that this configuration is done with fully qualified hotsname. Hence the certificate is generated based on this hostname.
    Now when you access your portal without typing fully qualified hostname, system is unable to locate a relevant certificate. Hence it lands up with a message "No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password"
    Hope this answers your query

  • Saving adobe forms in DMS through web dynpro application

    Hi all,
            I have a requirement in web dynpro where the user enters few data and clicks a generate button. On click of this button i have to generate pdf forms and save it in DMS. I have already designed the adobe form, but i do not know how to save it in DMS. So, please let me know asap how this can be done.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi,
    You will have to use the function module BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN_REPLACE2.
    First save the PDF file on application server.
    Then use above function module.

  • Saving adobe form data to XML

    Am trying to see what happens when user fills in adobe form and clicks submit. What will be sent back to server? Filled PDF or XML? If its XML, does it get stored on the user's machine in some temporary files?? If not, atleast where does it get stored on the server?
    Am basically trying to develop a functionality where user clicks submit and all the form data gets stored in an XML file on the local machine. Any inputs?

    Hi Narayana,
    You can use Web Dynpro Java with embedded Interactive PDF forms; and within your WDJ application, you can call various 'models': web services, EJBs and BAPIs/RFCs etc.
    So to pass data to an SAP system, you don't automatically need the XML data as a BAPI is sufficient. Check out <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/webdynpro?rid=/library/uuid/49f2ea90-0201-0010-ce8e-de18b94aee2d#backend">these SDN tutorials</a> to do this.

  • Adobe form not saving user-input data into saved pdf file

    Hi forumers,
    I'm a new abap developer and I'm tasked to create an interactive adobe form that will require the user to input data in the form.
    No data is passed and received from PDF, but PDF has to be u2018Fillableu2019. I am able to fill out the form but when I actually save the form, it will be saved as a blank form again. I've seen the relevance of the  LS_DOCPARAMS-FILLABLE = 'X' on this forum and I have incorporated it in my code. But how should I code the abap program to enable to save the user input as well into the form.

    Not quite yet, I have to say...
    If you check the domain "FPINTERACTIVE", you'll see these values:
                   Print Form
    X     Interactive Form with Additional Usage Rights
    N     Interactive Form Without Additional Usage Rights
    F
    So, you are not providing "additional usage rights" (Adobe Form Credentials), meaning there could be a problem when you want to use those forms in a Production environment.

  • Adobe form - Text field not getting saved.

    Hi All,
    We created an application in which user will enter the data and submit it . The details entered in the screen will be saved in the Ztable.
    Our problem is when the user enters the data in the TextField UI of the adobe form it is not getting saved in the table. In development its working fine.
    In production for few users it is getting saved and for few users it is not getting saved.
    We are not able to find out the root cause of the problem.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Best Wishes
    Idhaya R

    Hi Idhaya,
    As you said it is working for few users,
    Then you need to check Adobe reader installed for users who are having problem.
    Hope it helps.

  • No data saved in Adobe Forms

    Hi experts,
    I'm new to Adobe Interactive Forms. I'm trying to get the ISR scenario from the  'ISR cookbook' to work. Untill now that was really easy to do. I definded a scenario, defined my characteristics and developed an Adobe Form. After saving and activating the form I can test the scenario succesfully. But here is the problem:
    My characteristics appear in the form, like they should. But after filling the form and saving it, no data has been saved. The form stays empty as well as the created notification. Through function module ISR_PROCESS_EVENT I'm able to check that the notification is empty indeed.
    I don't know what can be the problem or what I have to do to make the form save the data to the R/3 system.
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    Edwin van der Palen

    Hi Prabhakar,
    Thank you for your reply. Like I said, I'm developing the form for the Internet Service Request (ISR). With transaction QISRSCENARIO I generated a form and during the generation of the form the interface and the values in de data view are created automatically. After that, I did the binding of the 'data view values' to the fields in the form. This way, I don't have to use Web Dynpro.
    It seems like I did al the steps right. Even though, when I test the form no data will be saved to the form. The created notification is also empty.
    Any more hints on this issue?
    Thanks,
    Edwin

  • Adobe Forms - Table control data Saved in Database table through Web Dynpro

    Hello Friends,
    I Am facing a Problem in Adobe Forms through Web Dynpro.
    i Want to Make Interactive online Adobe Forms - In Table Control user enter the multiple entry in the table control and after that Click on SAVE button , entry will saved in Database table.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Gaurav.

    Hi Gaurabh,
    For interactive form you have to check the property DisplayType = native and PdfSource should be a Context Attribute of type 'Xstring'.
    For data retrieval, create a NODE and have all the required attributes within that node of AOBE form.
    Fetch the data in WDDOINIT.
    Also check, that the offline senario for this form is working.
    Hope it helps you.

    Dear All,

There is a submit button which user can click in order to submit details. This submit in turn does posting. Method is written in wed dynpro view for validation and posting.
    My problem starts here, when user has clicked on submit and posted, posting happens and finally the data is present in adobe form with the new PR no crated. When i try to save this form in my desktop it saves a blank form and not the data which is present in it. However if i don't click on submit and save the pdf with the manually entered values it save properly with the data.
    Please help in getting to bottom of this issue. One point, i have no idea about adobe forms, so pleae let me know for some obvious case as well.

  • Saving Adobe Interactive Form

    I have a web dynpro application opens an interactive form and once a user fills it out it creates an activity on the crm backend. That works fine.
    What I'd like to do is take the adobe form and attach it to the newly created activity. I am able to attach other documents to the activity, but not the .pdf from the interactive form.
    The method I use to attach documents takes a context element called pdfObject and passes it to the backend as a byte arry. The problem is, only some data is coming thru.
    I'm thinking that it might only be passing the data or the form template, but not both in a .pdf format.
    Anyway, if anyone knows of a way to take a interative form and get it into a byte array, please help.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Markus,
       You are correct the pdfObject is the binary context that is assigned to the pdfSource property. The form works great for filling out and calling the ABAP rfc. The problem is that I tried saving the pdfObject element, in the web dynpro application, to file and it does not save in a readable pdf format. If I go into the form manually and save it as a pdf it works ok. I also compared the size of the pdfObject and the saved pdf and the saved pdf is much bigger. This leads me to believe that the binary stored in pdfObject is not a pdf, but maybe the data from the pdf.
       I guess the question really is, What is pdfSource holding? Is it the data less the template,all the pdf data...
        Anyway, I image someone has tried to save an interactive form to file via web dynpro. Let me know if you have any hints for me, or have tried something similar.
    Regards,
    I guess the context element pdfObject is the value you assigned to the pdfSource property of the InteractiveForm UI element. And you probably also made it of a 'binary' type in the Context. Can you please check this?

  • Saving and sending Adobe Form pdf from WebDynpro

    Hi,
    I'm developing an application which receives data from a RFC to a R/3. The datas are displayed on a pdf-Document in a Webdynpro. This works fine.
    Now I want to send this form as attachment in an email. Do I have to save it first as pdf or can I send it directly?
    On SapHelp I found a tutorial how to save a form as pdf:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dc/f1783fe3263042e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    I tried out the describtion but without success. I defined an action on the view where the form should be displayed and added the coding in the implementation of the event. In the form I added a button Submit to SAP from the Web Dynpro Library. When I press the button, nothing happens. Do I have to make any changes under Object->Field->Control Type?
    Another question about the coding:
    public void onActionsubmit(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActionsubmit(ServerEvent)
              IPrivateResultView.IContextElement contextElement =
                   wdContext.currentContextElement();
              byte[] bytes = contextElement.getPdfSource();
              try {
                   File file = new File("C:
    temp
    example.pdf");
                   FileOutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(file);
                   os.write(bytes);
                   os.close();
              } catch (IOException e) {
                    // do something
                   e.printStackTrace();
              wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getMessageManager().reportSuccess(
                   "You have pressed Submit!");
        //@@end
    The path where the pdf shall be saved is "C:
    temp
    example.pdf", I expected something like "C:\temp\example.pdf" on a windows machine.
    Where will the pdf be saved? On the machine i deployed the application (what about rights for saving) to or localy on the machine I start the app?
    Does anyone knows how to send the pdf by email when saving the form or knows a helpful tutorial?
    Many thanks for your help

    Hi all,
    doing Tutorial 31 from SDN (Interactive Forms using E-Mail) I have a problem with the entries for the smtp-host in the coding.
    I always get the error message:
    Sending failed;  nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.javamail.exception.JavaMailMessagingException: Cannot send message to host xxx:25 using the SMTP protocol.
    //@@begin onActionSendForm(ServerEvent)
    Properties props = new Properties();
    String host = "xxx";
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", host);
    In host I entered the entrie for the smtp i use in Outlook, where it works fine. In the Tutorial i get the errormessage.
    I have an smtp-server from our company with which it works too, but it is not the smtp used by Outlook.
    And i can't use this smtp at my customers.
    Could it be a problem with the used ports or a needed authentication? In the Tutorial is no coding for this.
    Does anyone use a freemailer for this tutorial and have success with the smtp of this freemailer?
    Kind Regards
    Mathias

    Thanks for your reply.
    1. I tried finding similar questions but was not able to do so.
    2. Yesterday itself i found out that it's working fine for some users but not for others. So i am just wondering whether it's a problem related to version of softwares like Adobe or IE?
    I have IE7 and Adobe Reader 9.4
    Please give some inputs, friends.
