Saving an Adobe Interactive Form without dialog in background

Hi'
I hope someone here can help us.
Our client uses an R/3 system, version 4.6C, where data for the Interactive form is generated.
We use an RFC call to send the data to a NetWeaver system.
The RFC generates our Adobe Interactive form in the NetWeaver system.
We need to save the generated PDF file onto a harddrive in this background processing ( in the RFC ) immidiately after the file has been generated.
Any ideas as to how we save the file?
Regards,
Karin.

Here's one way I could think of doing it. Not sure if it's the most efficient. There may be some function modules out there....
You write a small program to print an Adobe form from the RFC.
Before you call Job open (CALL FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_OPEN'
), set the following parameters of
sfpoutputparams.
Set the outputparamaters to suppress the dialog
utputparams-nodialog = 'X'.
Set to print to a dummy printer
outputparams-dest = 'LP01'.
Set a spool request
  outputparams-REQNEW = 'X'.
Then you can call a program like rstxpdft4 to download the PDF file.

  • Adobe Interactive Forms without Web Dynpro and ACF???

Hi All, we would like to build an interactive forms solution based on the Adobe software integrated into WAS. However, the customer requires a true thin client application with no additional installation on the client. Integrating Adobe Interactive Forms into Web DynPro however requires the Active Component Framework (ACF) to be installed since these forms are integrated into the page within an ActiveX container.
So the question is whether there is a way to use Adobe Interactive forms including the Adobe Documents Service within WAS but without(!) using Web Dynpro?(the full blown Adobe LifCycle Forms solution is not an option). Any suggestions on this are highly appreciated!
    Tanks!

    Hello everyone,
I would like to add a couple of points from the SAP Product Management perspective.
Adobe has a number of stand-alone products that are the foundation for what SAP can now offer thanks to our partnership. This is exactly why we decided on a partnership that provides us with established technology, which is now integrated.
It is true that Web Dynpro is the main SAP way of integrating the interactive functions of the solution. We made this decision consciously, because the development and run-time environments provide very useful features that reduce the need for manual coding, such as the possibility of passing the data back to the backend using the Web Dynpro context. The automatism we offer here needs to be implemented from scratch with any other solution, including the Adobe stand-alone one.
While it is true that the ACF constitutes a certain limitation for the reasons you mention, Adobe will remedy this in 2005. The Reader/Web Dynpro integration will be available later this year for multiple platforms (OS, browsers) and will not require ACF anymore.
If you do not want to use a full-blown Web Dynpro application for your concrete scenario, consider developing an application that provides nothing but the interactive PDF form to the end user, to be filled in using the stand-alone Reader. The submit of the form data (with or without the PDF itself) could then happen via HTTP or e-mail.
    Kind regards,

  • E-mail adobe interactive form without showing it..

    Hi experts!
I am trying to create a WD apllication in which when the user presses a button an adobe interactive form will be called and e-mail, without showing the actual form.
From what i saw in the corresponding tutorial, in order to attach the file to the e-mail, the file must first exist in pdf format.
But, during runtime all i have is the pdfsource.
So, the point is: how can i create the actual pdf from the pdf Source without showing it????
    Thanx in advance!!!!

    Hi,
actually I would not recommend that. That's something which has to be programmed completely new and does not exist at the moment. If you want to have it outside in the internet for externals you will force candidates to use Adobe Acrobat reader in a certain version and might get browser problems. So technical support might become an issue.
So the only opportunities you have without creating something new, is using Web Dynpro standard or a third party tool based on flash.
    Best regards

  • How to send mail from adobe interactive form without opening the outlook

    Hello all,
When the end user press the submit button i want it to send the XML data without opening the outlook or other mail application.
Is there a way to do this?
I tried javascript codes to send mail with UI = false but it did not work.
    Thank you all in advance,
    Eran

    mailForm
Parameters: bUI, cTo, [cCc], [cBcc], [cSubject], [cMsgBody]
    Returns: nothing
This method exports the form data and mails the resulting FDF file as an attachment to all recipients,
with or without user interaction depending on the value of  bUI.
If it is set to true then the rest of the parameters are used to seed the compose new message window that is displayed to the user.
If bUI is set to false, the cTo parameter is required and all others are optional.
You must use a semicolon u201C;u201D to separate multiple recipients in cTo, cCc, cBcc parameters.
The length limit for cSubject and cMsgBody is 64k bytes.
    Example:
/* This will pop up the compose new message window */
    this.mailForm(true);
/* This will send out the mail with the attached FDF file to fun1 @ fun . com and fun2 @ fun . com */
    this.mailForm(false, "fun1 @ fun . com; fun2 @ fun . com", "", "", "This is the subject", "This is the body of the mail.");
    Note:
This is a Windows-only feature. In addition, the client machine must have its
default mail program configured to be MAPI enabled in order to use this method.
I had to change the code:
    instead of this.mailDoc :
    var myDoc = event.target;
    myDoc.mailDoc(false, "fun1 @ fun . com; fun2 @ fun . com", "", "", "This is the subject", "This is the body of the mail." );
But the outlook new message window still opens...
    Any Idea's?

  • Need help with Adobe Interactive Form Saving

    Hi Gurus,
I need your help with Adobe Interactive form saving.
I have written the code in pre-save event to prompt a message when user didn't enter any value before saving. The form data should not be saved upon clicking save (Just prompt the message and exit form the form). Can u please advice me how to do this.
    Regards,
    Srini

    see the link: http://forms.stefcameron.com/2008/04/
    it says:
preSave: Failed validations will not prevent the form from being saved however Acrobat/Reader will issue a special warning message, after issuing the validation error message, to inform the user that the validations failed. Iu2019m guessing this is because the user may be saving the form to continue filling it at a later time so the save canu2019t be completely prevented.

  • Saving Adobe Interactive Form into a Server Path in Webdynpro.

    Hi Forum,
I have an Adobe Interactive Form as UI element in my webdynpro View. This form is available in the context attribute in Binary Format. I can read the form from this attribute as Byte Array only. I want to save this file in to a folder located in the Portal Server (ex : path :

I am trying  with the following code :

           IWDModifiableBinaryType binaryType =(IWDModifiableBinaryType) attributeInfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
           IPrivateTestCompView.IContextElement element =     wdContext.currentContextElement();

  • WD BusinessGraphics Image - Displaying it in Adobe Interactive Form

    Hi.
We need to display some BusinessGraphics (runtime generated) in Adobe Interactive Form. So, we tried to solve it using two ways:
1 - Generate a URL to access the BusinessGraphics image, using web cached resource. But somehow, it doesn't works well. When we call the URL directly on Internet Explorer, it is displayed. But when we set the URL in an Image in Interactive Form, no success... it is not displayed.
Ex.: using Formcalc on Initialize event: "Image.value.image.href = $record.PortalData.EmployeePhotoURL"
OBS.: when we map it to a normal URL (ex.: "http://server.domain.com/image1.jpg"), NOT generated in runtime, it works well...
2 - Generate the image as a byte stream, convert it to Base64 and bind it to an ImageField, as I saw wrote here in a thread (without any more helpful answers...). The problem here is that we dont know how to generate the Byte stream for the BusinessGraphics image.
Does anyone knows how to generate a byte array from an Image of a BusinessGraphics component? Or have a differente approach to display a BusinessGraphics on an Interactive Form (like deals directly with IGS)?
    Regards,
    Douglas Frankenberger
    PS.: we are using:
    - NWDS 7.0.10
    - Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.0.050519

    Hi Chintan.
Our images were dinamically generated, so we dont have a filename to access it. The method getAbsoluteWebResourceURL requires a valid filename to generate the URL.
The URL that we have follows the below format:
    http://server:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/vendor.com/xyzwDCName/DCNameApp/~wd_key800_1420382789975/.gif?sap-wd-download=1&sap-wd-cltwndid=0f546c20792111dd80ac0018a451af48&sap-wd-appwndid=0f645c21762111ddc3810057a451af48&sap-wd-norefresh=X
When we try to open it directly on IE, it works. But, when we set this URL to be opened by an Image in Interactive Form (using a script and/or mapping it to URL property), it doesn't shows up, even allowing Adobe Reader to access the address above (a dialog is shown to require access to all URLs that we have used to the images). Probably what happens is that Adobe try to request a WD resource, and WD understand this Adobe Reader request as a non-compatible browser. So, it denies the response (see "Browser is not supported" message accessing a URL to an Image).
Is there a way to go through this?

  • Adobe Interactive Forms no BAPIs or RFCs available

    Hi all -
thanks to all who helped me get adobe interactive forms up and running
now that we can deploy an interactive form
our problem is no backend BAPIs or RFCs are available
for it, only custom dialog ABAP modules
is there any method where the form could get data
from back end without calling BAPI or RFC?

    Hi Viji,
I believe there must be a misunderstanding here. While Adobe delivers sample forms both in Adobe LiveCycle Designer (only the form) and for their own server products (the LiveCycle series), this has nothing to do with Interactive Forms in SAP software. Adobe contributes 2 key technology components to the joint solution, but the business logic continues to be shipped by SAP only. This means that Adobe neither ships standard forms for an SAP system nor BAPIs.
In mySAP ERP 2004, a couple of pilot processes built with Guided Procedures were shipped to selected customers. These processes dealt with the creation and changing of master data. These processes are not generally available.
Interactive Forms is included in several environments, i.e. Web Dynpro for Java, Web Dynpro for ABAP, ABAP Workbench (for printing), Guided Procedures, Internet Service Request (ERP), and Business Intelligence. In NetWeaver '04, you can only use Web Dynpro for Java and ABAP Workbench.
There is NO OUT-OF-THE-BOX SUPPORT for BSPs.
If you wish to use KM functions, it'll be up to you to develop them for your process. You will need to persist the generated PDF form (it doesn't happen by default), and there is no standard delivery that includes KM functions.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to binnding the data in the adobe interactive forms for making a table?

    Hi, experts,
    Function:
Through the sharing context node between adobe interactive form and a WDA for ABAP, display the data of the sflight_node in the ADOBE.
    version:
    Acrobat Reader 8.1.0
currently both of the SAP-ABA and SAP-BASIS SP level: 9
    ADS : Successful.
    The following is my action:
    1.     Create a interface (Z_SFLIGHT_INTF) with a attribute node (SFLIGHT_NODE) that type is "sflight"  using the transaction code "sfp"
    2.     Create a form (Z_SFLIGHT_FORM) using the transaction code "sfp" with the interface Z_SFLIGHT_INTF.
    3.     Trag the sflight_node in the Z_SFLIGHT_INTF to the form( Z_SFLIGHT_FORM).
    4.     Open the layout tab in the form(Z_SFLIGHT_FORM), and create a table(table1). Click the table created just now, select the binding tab in the object tab, and in the Default Binding, select the SFLIGHT_NODE under the Z_SFLIGHT_FORM.
    Problem 1:
Do you tell me whether is right for binding the context SFLIGHT_NODE using this way? If bind 3 context attributes in the sflight, how can I do it?
    5.     Create a WDA for abap (ZZ_02_SFLIGHT), and create a view(MAINVIEW) using transaction code "se80" in the sap-gui with adobe interactive form. Set the templatesource(Z_SFLIGHT_FORM) in the  adobe interactive form properties and saved, and then, datasource is "MAINVIEW_Z_SFLIGHT_FORM" automatically.
    6.     But I only found the attribute SFLIGHT_NODE under the context node(Z_SFLIGHT_NODE), and  I don't found the NODE ( SFLIGHT_NODE ) context in the context tab in the WDA for abap so that I don't set data to the context NODE (SFLIGHT_NODE).
    Problem 2:
Do you tell me what can I do it so that I get the node SFLIGHT_NODE rather than attribute in the WDA for setting the data to the CONTEXT NODE (SFLIGHT_NODE)?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Developing Adobe Interactive forms in SAP R/3 4.7

I have a client requirement of developing Adobe Interactive forms for automating exisiting manual processes. The SAP version being used is SAP 4.72.
Could anyone please let me know what all is required to implement it and how that can be done in brief.
One of the related links to the topic without much details is 4.7 and Adobe Interactive Forms.
If anyone has worked with such requirement, his inputs would be valuable

    Hi,
You will have to use WD Java for integrating Interactive forms with SAP version 4.7
NetWeaver developer Studio ( NWDS) is the tool used for this integration. Data can be passed from SAP to WD Java using RFCs.

  • Migrating PCR frontend-JSP forms to Adobe interactive forms-WD Abap Comp

    Hi All,
We are currently on Netweaver 7.0 & ECC 6.0 and ESS - MSS Business Package 50.4. We are using JSP Forms on portal front for Personnel Change Requests (PCR's ) where in all the scenarios in the backend are heavily customized with good amount of usage of Javascripts. For certain scenarios, where in a huge amount of information is fetched from ECC 6.0 backend system, JSP are performing really bad and the total time taken to display the form is actually causing a lot of irritation to the end user.
We are planning to propose an upgrade to SAP adobe interactive forms. The prerequisite is that the business wants to reuse all the customized scenarios without any changes and just want to move towards better front end forms.
    My questions are:
    1. Please list benefits of SAP Adobe interactive forms - ABAP component over JSP forms (performance wise)
    2. Issues with SAP Adobe Interactive forms?
    3. Since Javascripts do not work in Webdynpro ABAP. How can we implement those front end checks and validations.
    3. Any other options available for UI that can be suggested?
All suggestions are welcome. Quick response is appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your time and help.
    Best Regards,
    Anupama

Is your performance issue with the Javascript with JSP pages?  or the Java script you are using within the Adobe form in your WDJ custom application using Adobe form? I have worked on PCR's using ISR framework old school it used to call as PCR and now HCM Processes and form, Developed PCR's using WDJ also integrated workflow with the WDJ PCR for approval(we never had any performance issue) infact ISR frame work was kind of slow compare to custom WDJ solution and less flexible for a developer to develop.
I have also worked created WDA custom application for PCR's , WDA is definitely better when you compare it with WDJ but I have not seen much performance issue with WDJ atleast on custom PCR solutions.
I don't have any case study to share with you, can you please tell what kind of PCR's your client is using and what kind of performance issue you are experiencing and where and why you guys are using Javascript.

  • Problem with ACF for Adobe Interactive Forms

    Hi Gurus,
I had created an adobe interactive form using web dynpro for abap, but I am getting the 500 connection timed out error in the browser when I test the web dynpro application. Where as a normal web dynpro application without adobe form is running successfully.
    The system details are :-
         Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0
         NW04S SPS9
         Adobe Reader 9
         IE 7.
I followed the note 766191 and downloaded and installed ACF(for NW04s and higher version supported upto acrobat reader 9) from browser itself.
I also followed the note 1150277 for enabling IE settings on ActiveX controls. And I checked in IE with Tools->Internet Options->Programs->Manage Add-ons, but the ACF components were not available.
    Please help me out.

  • Data Passing Problem with Adobe Interactive Forms

    Hello all,
I am trying to create a Guided Procedure to implement an offline Adobe Interactive form. This form is based on the standard Requisition Request form used in MSS for e-Recruiting.
I've copied the standard form and updated the layout to ZCI using the appropriate transaction (not manually). After that, I've changed the Interface and layout. But to get the Form in the portal you need to have a .xpd file. Therefore, I've tested the form in preview mode, saved a copy as a PDF file and opened this copy in the standalone Adobe Lifecycler Designer. In the standalone version you are able to save the form as a PDF (not possible using transaction SFP).
My question 1 is if this is a wrong approach and there is a better way to retrieve the xpd file.
Next to that, I wrote a RFC function to retrieve data in the backend. This function is working and now I try to pass the data to the Form in the GP (using prefilling). The data is never passed, any points that I need to check there. The data used to export is a structure that contains a number of table types, because Adobe has issues with importing tables it seems. The form is working correctly in the backend.
Points will be rewarded for helpfull awnsers!
Kind regards & thanks in advance...
