Hi,
I have to upload a file and the file uploaded should be saved to aparticular location. For Example if i upload a file named 'eg.jpeg.' , how can i save this file to a particular location in the system?

Hi,
If you just want to display it within the same BSP application, try this:
<htmlb:image src="eg.jpg" />
If you want to retrieve the image from a non BSP application, I think you should look at logical files and paths (transaction AL11).

I have a java class in the background of a JSP which creates an XML file and saves it.
Furthermore another class picks that file and processes it. While running this program on my local computer it is obviously working fine but in order to run it on a tomcat server or for that matter any server, I want it to save the XML file in a particular folder, for example:
tomcat_home/webapps/myapplication/ xmlfolder / something. xml
so that my other class can easily pick up the file and I dont need to change the location each time I change the server.

You can get the context root(the place from wher the aplication is running) of your application and then save the file somwhere, but i >>woulden't recomend that. But this is what you are looking for.How ?
You can also just save the file, it will be saved in a temp directory. (use this only if the file is a temp file not for storing purposes)Just saving the file somehow doesnt work for me as the folder where a class is saving a file by default is somehow different from the folder where another class is trying to pick a file by default. Other option is just to configure a tomcat system variable that specifys an folder. You can get that property from your application and >>then save the files there.Im not able to consider this one because the application will be put on different servers by different people later so they would all then need to configure their systems just to read a file. I was sure there were better ways. :(

Uploading File to a particular location

Hi,
I need to upload a file to a particular location using the Struts framework.
I have been reading about the html:file tag.
But I did not come across any information as to where the file gets uploaded to. I need the file to be uploaded to a location in my project.
How do I do it?
Could anyone post a code sample for this?

I see lots of useful examples tho.
Saving the retrieved file to a particular location has nothing to do with Struts. Just handle it in your Javabean. Check the java.io API.

How to find where iWeb is saving the files?

greetings.
i used iweb last year to make a couple web pages... i normally just edit html directly and don't use this kind of software... i cannot find where it is saving the pages i've updated... the location in ~/Site that has the files from last year do not appear to be updating when saving... the changes are getting saved somewhere because the changes are still there after quitting and restarting iweb... the standard way i use to find where a program is saving the file is to command+click on the title bar to see what path it is saving the file... that doesn't work in iweb...
i edit my files locally on my HD... then when everything is ok, i copy them up to our server... since i cannot find where iweb is saving the files, i can't copy them to the server... i really don't like software that gets in the way of just doing the work or hides everything... :-\
i did a quick search of the manual and this list and didn't find anything on this topic...

ps: also how does one get rid of that ANNOYING "try mobilme for free" splash screen when starting the program each time? it's enough to make me want to just delete everything and recode it by hand... certainly less annoying and possibly even faster... :-[ sorry for being so cranky-

There is absolutely nothing wrong with iWeb at all. You just need to learn how to use it and what it does and how it publishes that is all.
You just need to know that if you want to update, then you need the domain files and where they are stored and know that iWeb cannot import and that it creates html files on publishing and publishing to a folder will create these. If you wish to make alterations to these files, then you can easily do so with an html editor and then upload directly to your web server.
As with anything, if you learn what it does and how to use it effectively, you can make it work very well for you.

each user should b given a separate directory.
can anyone tell me how to make the user to store

And to view the file, if the user enters the file name

I'd just answered a similar case. I believe this is what you are looking for;

Read up on MIME-Type and Character-Set for info.

Error in saving the file

I have created one report in apex. I have dowload option to download the csv file from report.. i am able to download to download all files accept one report which is giving me the error while clicking on saving the file "Error: Unable to read source file or disk"...Please suggest why it is happening. Where are you trying to save it to?
Are you using iCloud?

HP scanning error: “An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only.” Dr. Google finds others with this problem. Some claim that this is caused by an upgrade of Apple OS10 (which I did do). One claims that HP has a "patch" for this problem. If I try to quit HP scan, it won't quit and freezes my computer. Here's the odd thing. I have no problem scanning in a colored page from Scientific American either before or after this error (after rebooting each time), but simple black and white documents started just today to give the error message above.

Thank you for the link however if I understood all of the instructions I would still be reluctant to try this on my own especially from a third unknown party where some of the information may be wrong and/or lost in translation. (Google translation at the end of this comment). The instructions say to uninstall the software. So if I uninstall the original HP software am I using the original disk to reinstall and then personalize again?What about all of the updates since I originally installed the software? I found the Disk Utility but what is "gatekeeper"And I am using OS X 10.9.1 that is current because I downloaded the latest upgrade. This worked for me:
"Although it is not a 'fix' for the HP issue, I did find a workaround that helped me. In the Preferences Panel in MacOS X you can pull up the Printer/Scanner preferences and scan directly from OS X. I'd not known of this prior to posting here and it worked like a charm."

I have the familiar Mavericks issue of failing to save scanned files from my Mac:
"An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."
As far as I can see, there has been no resolution to this issue, despite reassurances dating to last fall (2013).
The support website acts funky, too, sending me around in circles when I try to download the drivers; it may be a Safari-only problem, but still, please fix your software!

This error message comes up every time I try to save a scanned document to my mac 10.9 .4 . I have reset the software for my HP C5180.All in one. I have not had te problem before, just recently following some upgrades ....any suggestions how to fix this, on reading forums it seems its a common problem.. not good .

Reset the printing system. OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system.
Verify and repair disk permissions. Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions.

Can I get back a file that logic deletes... Well I did but I had thought I saved the file under a different name?

Hi. I have been using logic pro on the computer at music school... A Mac pro... Anyway, I was recording a friends band. W got some awesome takes down. I was then doing a little post, saved the file as one name and then stared working on it under a new file name. Anyway, logic came up with a splash that asked if I would like to delete the original file, and I clicked yes, as I thought I had saved the session under a different name just earlier. Anyway, I lost everything. Ok... Shirt I thought... But I managed to find everything in the recycle bin. Except one awesome take of an awesome song, I am a little bit heart broken as I've gone though the sessions undo file in quite some detail, but I seem to have lost it. I have access to the file on my Mac at home (MacBook pro, and logic express 8 I think) cool that I can open logic pro files in logic express, but anyway. Anyone want to offer me any solace? I think a solution might be too much to ask for....

If you were using OSX 10.7 then you could go back to a previous version, but you have overwritten the file.
