Hey i was just wondering about my speakers the Left right and sub work the 2 back left and center ones aren't working i don't really now what my sound card is any help would be great
The 5 second rule only aplies to fish :smileyvery-happy:

sniperz,
If it's a Creative 5.1 sound card, try turning on the CMSS features. The sticky at the top of this (Sound Blaster) forum covers the steps on how to enable surround sound effect or you can check out the Knowledgebase article for the steps.

If your unsure of the type of card and it's capability you have then it's best to check with Dell.

  • Apparently faulty new SBS 560 speakers: advice needed!

I'll appreciate any advice people can give me!
Last week, I bought a SBS 560 5.1 speaker system from an online retailer called Komplett. Having just moved into a new flat, I didn't get to test them until yesterday. When plugged in, and even when not connected to the PC, they make an alarming "humming" noise - most of this noise comes from the sub. Furthermore, whenever I turn them off, they make a brief "screeching" noise. Music played through them is a little distorted, and the humming appears to grow - after putting on a tune yesterday, I had to run back into the living room and turn the speakers off when I realised I could hear the "humming" noise from the other side of my flat.
A friend suggested that it's a problem with either the power supply or the sub. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Oh, one other thing - I'm based in the UK, and the speakers arrived with a Euro plug. Komplett provided an adaptor - just a simple plug head convertor. Is this an issue?
Thanks in advance for your time!
    James
Oh - one other thing. Adjusting the bass level at the back of the speaker does have an effect on the volume of the humming. Oddly, though, the level of noise is reduced at the highest setting, and is utterly intolerable at the lowest.

Yes, they specifically fix Nvidia 330m problem, they state that the only true solution is to remove old chipset with their brand new chipset that has been apparently released by Nvidia as an update for this issue, this is exactly what they say:
    What faults can we fix?
We can fix graphic/display issues relating to the 15" / 17" Nvidia 330M models in 2010 Models. These are fixed using the appropriate professional equipment.
Brand New Chipset Repair - (only option we recommend for Macbook Pro Nvidia Models) With this procedure we re-fit a Brand New Nvidia GPU Chipset reballed in leaded solder.
**** Special Offer - £10 off making the Brand New Chipset Repair £169 + Post! ****
They also provide photos of certain logic board (including photo of serial number) with old chip, chip removed and new chip installed as a proff.

  • SBS 560 Speakers problem

I bought these speakers about month ago. The problem is that i connected it to my pc and there is no sound. My sound card is Realtek AC97 Audio. The processor is Amd Sempron. And i dont even know where i need to plug those 3. wires from speakers to my pc. I connected them them as the same colours at my pc.Sorry for bad English.Waiting for help here.

    TomasMetall,
You should try testing the soundcard and speaker separately. To test the speaker, disconnect the audio cable from the soundcard end and then connect them to another external device such as MP3 player, discman, etc. Do this for all three audio cable and see if you get sounds from the respecti've speaker. If all works well, the issue should lies with the soundcard you have and since you have already try reinstalling the driver for your soundcard and still facing problem. I would suggest checking it up with your motherboard support people.

  • 2.1 with my 5.1 SBS 560... i know that this has been anwered before

    Hi guys!
Well, i know that this has been answered before I post this, but I'm Spanish and I don't understand all the answers...
I have recently purchased this 5.1 SBS 560, and I only hear the left and right frontal speakers, and the subwoofer. I have read and re-read all those posts about this problem, but I don't understand well, and overmore i'm not good with the sound problems...
By the way, i have a Creative SB Live! Value. It is a 5.1 card, isn't it's
Please, explain me how to hear all the speakers. Explain it as if you were explaining it to a dumb ^^
    Thanks everyone
    Bye!

ok, thanks again to all of you
I have a SB Live! Valor (in spanish, i suppose that it will be value in english). I know it, and i have checked it in the properties of My PC.
well, i'll bought an audigy 2, then, but i don't have money... :P so i will use this card for some more time
but i have a question, ok, it's only for 4.1, but i only hear still 2 speakers and the subwoofer. Can I use at least 4 spekars, until I buy a new sound card?
I have enabled the CMSS in the creative playcenter, but it seems still to be working only the left and right frontals and the subwoofer
Sorry for my english again... and thanks a lot! ^^
PD: i will post the numbers printed on the card later, sorry but i can't open the PC now

  • Creative Labs SBS 560 Stereo Speaker Set

Hi, I'm planning on buying the , saw it here:
    http://www.hcw.be/hcwcs/p.asp?mscssid=&p=F793&d=L#ld
My question is, does this speaker system uses the headphone jack to connect?
    example:
    http://www.cewindows.net/reviews/032005.JPG
Because I have a 2.1 speaker system, and I can connect this to my xga-box (little machine to connect my gamecube or xbox to my monitor)
    http://www.futuremax.nl/images/xb/bg/650.jpg
(I put the cable from my 2.1 system in the side)
And I need to know if I a) Can connect this 5.1 system to my xga-box
    b) Will have sound through all the speakers, including the
    subwoofer?
    Any advice would be appreciated

    Bruuss,
Any of the Creative soundcard that's advertised as supporting 5.1 speaker system or higher is compatible with the SBS 560 and yes, the Audigy 2 ZS is compatible with the SBS 560.
As for connecting two output device, you can get a stereo splitter adaptor so both the speaker and headphone can share the audio output jack.

  • SBS A520 speakers not working on DVD

I have purchased Creative SBS A520 5.1 channel speakers. I have DVD Player with 5.1 channel output.
I have purchased 3nos. 3.5 jack to RCA terminal cable to connect them.
Now only the FR and FL are working the other SR and SL speakers and Center and Woofer are not working. I am after it since 5 days.

I Have the same problem with my iPad Air 2 64GB. usually after restarting the speaker will work again until last night and today. I restarted my device many times but the speaker wont work at all. Actually I had the same problem with the first iPad Air 2 I Bought from Bestbuy, luckily they gave me brand new replacement & I remember the manager said that this is a common problem of returns of the iPad Air 2 at BestBuy.
Apple should fix this because its verry annoying, inconvinient  and not worth the money I paid for.

So , if you are planning to run the server as file server its not a good practice. Better to load non SBS Server or follow :
    http://www.jeremycole.com/blog/2008/06/24/how-to-stop-the-sbcore-service-service-or-how-to-use-sbs2003-as-a-normal-server/
and use SBS , by following this article it wont restart automatically and you can plan your upgrade / movement to new server.

  • SBS 330 speakers

I HAVE SBS 330 2 IN SPEAKERS. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN HOOK THEM UP TO A PORTABLE CD PLAYER AND USE IN MY CAR.

    atozgirl,
You will need to make sure that your soundcard in the computer is functioning properly first. Test your soundcard using a pair of headphone and see if there's any sound. If there isn't any sound output from the headphone, likely your soundcard is having problem and not the speakers. You can try downloading soundcard drivers from your soundcard manufacturer website and reinstall them. Hopefully it fix the soundcard problem.

  • SBS 560 speaker system

Hi, I posted a few days ago.. about not having enough speaker jacks to plug everything in. I just received the computer in the mail today and it has the orange/black/green plug in's.
I plugged in all the speakers, and only the subwoofer and 2 front speakers are working.
Any suggestions on how to get the center and rear speakers to work?
I also have no idea on what kind of sound card it has..
Is there anyway i can run a test on the speakers?
If anybody can help, I'd greatly appreciate it..
    Dusti

If you've got $0 go to your nearby best buy store and as long as you have USB, I'd highly recommend getting the USB Sound Blaster Audigy2 NX, which has all the ports you need. It's external, and it includes a remote. I turned my computer into a highly complex jukebox.
You really only need the green and the orange cables, which has always allowed me to use my 5.1 Logitechs with my Dell computer (and the middle speaker dishes out sound still. Hmm...). But since I got my Audigy2 I am extremely happy.
That's product number 3 from Creative. I've got to make a long ass thank you letter on here. So many people have problems with creative devices, but with my tried-and-crap trial and error method, I eventually figure it out.
I stil l refuse to read the instructions. Muahahahaaaa.
But, if you want the best sound possible, go with a new sound device. If you don't have USB, my local best buy (Grand Rapids, Michigan--45 minutes away) has an internal version, so I'm sure yours does.
I love my creative products, as it allows me to have a multilateral audio set up that catches envy from my friends

  • SBS 560 problem

I got the SBS560 for christmas and all the speakers are working apart from the center speaker. I mean, its working but when you plug it into the center speaker port it sounds very very distorted, and as if its recking the speaker (its also very quite). This happens with any other speaker plugged in that center port. BUT it can't be the center port on the sub because i plugged in another pair of speakers into the center and subwoofer port of my soundcard and they sounded just like the center speaker when plugged in. Now this soundcard is very old (although it runs 5.1) do you think its the drivers (it shouldn't be as they updated fine) or the soundcard itself, like the sound output or something isn't good enough (sounds more like it). If it is the soundcard, what kind of sound card can i get that is within the ?20 - ?30 mark, prefably creative.
    Thanks.

    TomasMetall,

  • How do I connect 5.1 Surround Speakers to Mac Mini?

Hello, I was wondering if there is any way to connect my 5.1 speaker system (Creative SBS 560) to the mac mini. I tried googling but nothing helped.
Is there any extensions I could use to get the full capacity of the speakers (using 5.1 instead of 2.1).
I'm thinking of maybe the audio leads (front, rear, sub) to an optical cable (toslink). Not sure if there is such thing, but any alternative would help.
I would be grateful if anyone could help me out.

Apple provides the optical out for 5.1. You just need speakers with optical in - http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakersaudio/home_pcspeakers/devices/224&cl=us,en
The other option is to attach a receiver to do the decoding to speakers like most of us do to turn it into a home theater.
The only thing that would work with the Creative SBS 560's would be a dedicated decoder with some special adapters for the connectors - http://www.amabilidade2002.com/toslink.htm

  • The back speakers not working! plz h

Hi, yesterday i bought a SBS 560 5. system plus a sound blaster audigy SE card but when i install the sound card the only sound that come out is 3 on the front and the 2 on the back wasnt working at all. Can some plz help? (excuse my bad grammar) THNX

You need to make sure that its setup to 5..
    Things to look at.
Windows control panel/sound. Set to 5.
    Creative mixer, 5. ?
Other media software players for DVD playback is at 5..
    Games are set to 5..
Now, if that still fails to give you all speakers working then we need to dig deeper, its not complicated at all but try the simple things first
Ill be back soonish to get an update on how ya went.
