Scaling in VI Logger Lite 2.0.1 not working properly

We are having a problem using a custom scale in VI Logger Lite 2.0. One of the two channels is not correctly applying the scale we are entering. We are trying to scale the value by 60, but it is applying a value of about 31.2 instead. I have attached screen shots in the Word document.

If you've ever made a special type of task in Measurement and Automation Explorer, such as a temperature task, it works the same way. Say you are doing a thermocouple measurement, which measures voltages that are smaller than 1V. The Range would look something like this:
Note that the range referrs to 0-100 degrees C, not 0-100 V. DAQmx knows to apply the reverse scale to the 0-100 range, which would correspond to the actual voltage values read by the card.

CS5.1 scaling tool not working properly

The scaling tool is working oddly. If I scale it something down (like a logo) - even with the shift held down and scale it back up - it is all distorted. Is there something that I need to turn off or on? Because the scale tool isn't working properly it is destroying logos. I'm not new to illustrator so unless something in the program has changed I'm not doing anything I haven't always done - without the bad effects.

Keyboard or Motherboard, that is the question (power indicator lit, but machine does not work)

Hello Everyone.
Sorry for this long as heck post. Skip to the all caps headers below, if you have no time for excuses.
I’m loving my new w530. Well, I have been loving it. I work in documentary production and for the last year have been in a very dusty part of the world.
No matter what we do, we cannot keep dust from the computers. Dust covers, etc. Are basically helpless, though we do use them. If you could NEVER expose the computer to anything, that would be great. But as soon as you use it, it will get dust in it, specifically the keyboard, and monitor bezel, but also any bezel and any button. The dust can get gritty and sometimes it’s necessary to remove the keyboard(s) and just “shake them out”.
So, we don’t even bother to put the retaining screws in…because in a few hours you may be doing it again. And even in a few minutes.
So, last night…oh dear…I just don’t even want to think about it…but I did something REALLY stupid. In my own defense, it was after having been awake for more than 24 hours straight.
Anyway, I turned the computer off, unplugged (how I wish that I had turned it over) it from the back of the comp, and removed the keyboard…and of course covered the hole…the mobo and the internals.
I proceeded to get all the gritty stuff out of the keyboard by turning it upside down, shaking it, turning it back shaking it…again and again…until I was satisfied.
Then I started putting the keyboard ribbon back into the receptacle on the mother board.
I’ve done it a thousand times, but..dammit, I almost want to cry…as I was placing it back on it slipped a little and touched something nearby on the mother board, and I saw the mute microphone button light up briefly.
I immediately thought in expletives (because we have two batts (one is the 9 volt and one 6 volt) and sometimes I operate without either and just the power cord.. Which I thought was the situation last night (because the comp felt so light to me…but as soon as I saw that lamp, I knew that I was wrong, the small batt was in)…and I also thought that I wouldn’t be surprised if the machine didn’t boot now.
And I was right…
So, besides the obvious scolding…which I deserve…does anyone know anything about the keyboard schematics?
I’ve looked for diagrams online, but have had no success. And we VPN to a few servers around the world and they are always so slow, trying exhaustive searches is just crazy time consuming.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS (THE SYMPTOMS):
When the machine is plugged in, the power indicator lamp (around the power button) is lit…and stays lit no matter what you do, until you unplug it and the battery (if any).
When the machine is NOT plugged in, but there is a battery attached, the lamp only lights when the button is pressed…and it stays lit until the battery is removed.
SO MY QUESTION IS:
Can anyone tell me based on the symptoms, if this is the keyboard (please) or if it is the motherboard?
We are praying that I only shorted the keyboard somehow…because we know we can get a replacement keyboard only 1 day away.
Motherboards, we would have to send out for, and that just won’t happen. And I don't even know if Lenovo will send motherboards...as they aren't considered CRU.
And it will have to wait for three months, by which time all warranties will be lapsed. Thankfully we got and bought some Win 8 licenses and I can just swap the hard drive to an old d830 and it works with no effort, and I have all of my work available to me with no fussing.

There is no coverage map as such.
I live in what is considered a rural area and had techs driving 60-70 miles one way to get to me, never an issue.
Obviously, YMMV.
In my not-so-modest experience, both onsite and accidental damage upgrades are worth every penny if one intends to keep their ThinkPads for an extended period of time.

Dynamic Scaling fron Windows 8.1 to Windows 2012 not working

Hello, I am trying to RDP from my Surface Pro 3 into a Windows 2012 Server and the session doesn't seem to take my client scaling by default. Based on this article:

the native resolution of my SP3 and I have to set scaling manually to 150% in the remote server.
Is this supposed to work automatically when connecting from Windows 8.1 to Windows Server 2012 using mstsc.exe?

You may have something disturbing Illy so she gets confused, see Item 7 in 5) below for usual suspects, or you may have what appears to be a preference corruption, see 1) - 4) and 6) below.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Arrays not working in flash lite

I could not get a multidimensional array to work in flash
lite, then tried a regular array - it is not working either.
This code works:

Make Skype work properly with Windows DPI scaling for high resolution displays

Hello, As of now, Skype does not work well with Windows DPI scaling. Everything looks fuzzy (fonts, icons, etc).Microsoft's recommendation is to turn off the DPI scaling ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2900023 ) but in this case, the text is too tiny to be read. Basically everyone with a high resolution display is stuck with either tiny of fuzzy fonts, making Skype unusable. It's really a pity because other Microsoft programs such as Office work perfectly with Windows DPI scaling, and Skype also looks great on Mac with Retina display. With high DPI displays becoming more and more common, this is a must have feature. Thanks for reading!

As you can see Skype is really broken on HDPI displays and the issue is still being ignored/unacknowledged by Skype devs.

Cpu frequency scaling not working and hdd powers down

I recently made a fresh reinstall on my laptop keeping only my user settings (home directory) but no system-wide settings (/etc).
Now I have the following issues:
1) CPU frequency scaling does not work. KDE's PowerDevil tells me, my CPU does not have scaling capability and when I try to start cpufreq, I get this error message:

- Is the governor you requested available and modprobed?

The governor modules are loaded:

This used to work out-of-the box with the previous install so I'm a bit puzzled.
2) My hard drive powers down after a few seconds of inactivity, just to power up a few seconds later when it's accessed again. The hard drive never powered down on my previous installation. I do not have any power management daemons running and this behavior starts right after booting the machine, before I log in.
I would like to disable this "feature" since I think it's rather bad for the hard drive's health as well as battery life.
Any ideas?:)
EDIT: Cpu frequency scaling is fixed now, forgot to load the acpi_cpufreq module.:rolleyes: There's still the issue with the hard drive, though.

The HDD thing is caused by upowerd, dunno why though.
You can try: hdparm -B 254 <disk device>, but that wont solve the problem permanently, only till you plug and unplug again the AC supply.
you can also try killing upowerd and things will (at least that was the case for me) be alright.
Maybe this is upowerd bug?

Project Lite Users - My Apps not showing Project

I have a handful of Project Lite licenses. When I assign users to the Project Lite license, they do not get the Project Web App icon in their portal. They only way of accessing the project is to the direct link: https://domain.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/default.aspx
How do I add that link or the Project Web App icon to the users (with Project Lite Licenses) Office 365 portal?

Azure Web role scaling not working when using Reserved IP

Hi,
I am using autoscaling feature for long time now on my web role deployment. I've recently create new deployment (with same web role bits) to use a reserved IP. Since that moment, the autoscaling is NOT working anymore. I can see many AutoscaleAction failures
in the Management Portal Operation logs.
When I try to update the role instance count using REST call (via Azure Management Studio of Cerebrata), I get the following error:
Code: BadRequest
Message: A reserved IP cannot be added, removed or changed during deployment update or upgrade.
I cannot find anything about scaling and reserved IP on the net but I can't believe I am the only one in this situation ?!?!

When ‘Deployment Update’ is checked, only the changes since your last deployment will be pushed out to update your services. This is not possible when changing the virtual network settings of the service. To enable full deployments, you have two options:
Uncheck the ‘Deployment update’ checkbox
Click ‘Settings’ on the ‘Deployment update’ item, and select ‘If deployment can’t be updated, do a full deployment’.

Can I take synchronous data from 2 NI9215/USB-9162's using VI-Logger Lite

I am a total noob, so this may be posted (although I have done a search and can not find the direct answer)
We have 2 NI-9215 / USB-9162 devices that we want to take synchronous
data from using VI Logger. When these devices were sold to us, we
were told that this was possible, but it appears as if it is not.
Both devices appear in the Devices and interfaces pull down, and I can
operate either one of them separately, but not together.

Since you have to run the two acquisitions in different tasks, they are run independently and cannot be synchronized. Is there a way for you to specify a start trigger for the task? Also, what do you mean that "it doesn't like running two tasks at once"? Does it slow down your computer performance? What are the specs of your computer?

Question? Best Workflow HD/HDV and Reframing/Scaling to Export to both HD and SD when working in an HD Timeline?

Just wondering, what is the best method for working with HD Footage both HDV 1440x1080 and HD 1920x1080
Not long been using Adobe Premiere Pro CC, just switched over from Grass Valley EDIUS 6.08 and atempting my first Stage Show Multi Camera.
Source is 5 HDV PAL and 1x1920x180 60fps MP4 file from a Sanyo Handy Cam.
Final delivery is going to be DVD.
Have done a few smaller projects prior to and normally have edited in HDV 1440x1080 50i PAL and exported to whatever format I need.
Slightly different this time, I need to I need to crop/reframe some video from a couple of the Static locked off cameras. I know what to do but at moment though, I'm very much undecided which method to use for best results.
Doing some testing I notice that if I import the footage and edit in my usual HD Timeline as said above, then I go into Motion and Scale and reframe to suit, then the picture still
looks better still Full Screen on my 2nd Monitor in the HD Timeline than if I switch the Sequence Settings to SD DV PAL.
I am wondering how the scaler works when exporting. Say I go with the original HD Sequence, scale the Locked off Shots as I want them, then export to SD DV PAL then does the Adobe Media Encoder take into account that I am working in a HD Sequence (HDV 1440x1080 50i PAL) and then Scale to suit or does upscaling go in an HD Timeline then Exporting to SD make things worse, I am asking this as I still like to have the option to output an HD file for the Web and possible Bluray or Mobile Device later on.
I also still prefer working in an HD Timeline as for the other Camera Angles, then it is easier to judge focus since the image is sharper, as apposed to working in an SD Sequence.
I guess the other option I suppose is to edit in HD and then switch the Sequence Settings later on to SD before Export, but not sure that would work with the scaling? Or is that the same as working in an HD Timeline anyway and then selecting an SD Preset in the Adobe Media Encoder anyway?
I guess what I am saying is, if I say for example, Scale a HDV source to 130% or then export to SD in the AME then, is the AME upscalling the original HDV Source to 130% Loosing Quality firstly (making less pixels that to begin with), then downscaling back again to 100% SD Resolution, loosing quality once more, or does it see that the source is HD and has more pixels to use and take that into account? If you get what I am saying. Obviously if I am exporting to any HD Format then, I understand that where will be some quality lose with any amount of HD scale.
I also read that it is less CPU resource full working in the native resolution of the media when editing, especially on an older system.
The other option is to work in an 720 Preset possiblely?
At the moment I don't have a proper Preview device and am making do with the 2nd Display on my Graphics Card GTX 760.
I was looking at getting a Blackmagic Device for preview, or possible one of the Matrox.
It is a shame really, since I already have the Canopus HD Storm in the PC, which I was using with EDIUS for a lovely full screen preview to a 32" TV, since looked great, so since switthcing to Premiere, I can't use it and am having to make do with the GTX 760. Which isn't as good.
Maybe there is some setting I can alter to get a better Playback Image?
Anyway, I notice that the Full Screen Image from the GTX 760 is not as clear as it should be when editing, especially whilst playing back the image is slightly soft and more so when in the Multicam Mode it is even softer.
I am not sure if this is because my computer is not quiet fast enough? Maybe I should post this in a seperate thread in the Hardware forum, but I thought it was worth mentioned in this post aswell.

So in short At the moment I am undecided which method is best to use

Your Creative camera is not the best one could wish for. Open a 1280 x 720 sequence, import some Creative footage, use motion scale to fit it in and judge the quality for yourself. My guess is you will be disappointed in the quality. Then when outputting to DVD you will reduce the resolution and quality again, making it even worse.
So, my suggestion is, don't follow that route.
Ultimately you will end up with 720 x 576 material for your DVD. You already need to upscale your Creative footage, and change the PAR and take serious quality hits, do not increase your problems by upscaling and then downscaling again.

Focus manager is not working in Flash lite 4.0

I am working on development of UI components in flash lite 4.0. And i am using Focusmanger class to handle focus of all components present in the stage. I don't have any issues when the component is running in flash player 10. But i am getting some issues if i test the same component in deceive central.
Eg: I will place 2 combobox component on a stage. Focus first combobox and click enter list items will open.
I will try to navigate between the combo item. At the last combo item focus is going outside the component. As per the requirement focus should not go outside until user clicks enter again. Looking for valuable solution for this.

There is no way to know what will change in the future. This
is the solution that works now. It will probably remain in place
for the reasonable future.

X200: CPU frequency scaling not working in Windows 7 x64

Hi there, this is first posting here. Trust this issue has not been addressed before--if it has please redirect me to the post where this discussion happening.
Here is my hardware: X200, P8700, 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 7454-32U
I have just upgraded my RAM from 2GB and clean installed Windows 7 x64 (came with XP x86). I have also loaded all the drivers including the power manager driver and power manager from IBM/Lenovo support/download site. all hardware is working fine.
My only problem is that the fan is always on--running at about 3340RPM and blows all the time--temps are at around 42-46C. I have noticed that the CPU is quite, but firing at max all the time--does not scale down when no activity. tis happens when I select "power source optimized" on battery and on AC.
I have noticed that when in XP 32-bit, the CPU will come back at rest to 786MHz--and go up when needed.
Could someone please help me figure out what is goin gon here? I am so tired of looking and posting on other forums that I am about to go crazy. I love this machine, but my only issue now is this.
I have also checked the BIOS and set the CPU to "automatic" and Speed Step is on. I am using the latest BIOs version v3.11 Dec 2009.
Please help me.

Hi Jessica Thank you for the reply and also pointing me to the Upgrade Advisor links-Here is the output for the 64-bit Windows 7 Compatibility assessment--as you see there are no issues with Hardware compatibility. Also I have downloaded all the applicable drivers from Lenovo. The problem still persists.
if you could link me with the direct access to the power management related drivers from lenovo, ACPI and BIOS drivers I will appreciate a great deal. Also to mention, I have upgraded the BIOS Feb 2010 release, and also the Power manager driver to v3.12 (no fixes in fan speed and CPU freq scaling I am afraid.)

Windows 8.1 DPI scaling does not work with Windows 7 client ?

I have a Surface Pro with Windows 8.1 and a PC with Win7 SP1 both fully updated including optional updates (RDP8.1 client for Win7, verified in about box).
Still, when I connect to my Surface from my PC everything is enlarged.
My PC has two monitors: primary 1920x1080 and secondary 1680x1050. I've tried opening connection on each one of them as well as on both (multi monitor). I've also attempted to use windowed mode with lower resolutions.
Surface is set to default DPI settings (slider moved to Larger and "Let me choose one scaling" is unchecked). Also, when I'm connected via RDP I cannot move the slider ("Some display settings can't be changed from a remote session") though
I can click "Let me choose..." but that requires a sign-out. Another oddity is that my remote desktop client does not have a "Smart sizing" window menu item.

When you are within a session you should be able to check the option Let me choose one scaling level for all displays, change the scaling, sign out, then when you reconnect it will have the new dpi setting applied. This is the expected method for a
Windows 7 client.
