Scam refund offer from 800-922-0204

I just got a robocall from 800-922-0204 - it was a pre-recorded message offering me a $28 refund by logging into http://28verizon.com/
This is clearly a scam, and I wanted to raise this to Verizon's attention, as well as any other people how are getting called by the scammers right now. It's a pretty good scam in that the site looks pretty authentic except the $28 refund button.

@adas_vzw

I just got the same phone call. Had the robovoice recording and everything. Nasty.
Tried to call Verizon to report it and couldn't hear the tech on the other end due to digital crackles.
Happened about 10 minutes ago for me. Same phone as above.
Irritating.
Hope they get busted.

    Just got a call from 800-922-0204 telling me I could get $24 off my next bill by visiting www.verizon24.com and logging in.  Visiting the site with incognito mode it's using Verizon's logo, etc, and all the links point to the usual verizonwireless.com pages, however it's obviously fake since if you enter random numbers for the login it'll tell you that you've "won" and then asks for the necessary personal information to gain access to your real account.

    We received calls yesterday and today on each of our Verizon mobile phones.  Although it sounded too good to be true, I signed in to check it out.  That's when it started to really smell as they asked questions for personal data that Verizon already has on file.  I guess I need to change my Verizon password to ensure no unauthorized access.  Their web page really looked real.  I wonder how many people will fall for this scheme....?

  • Verizon Wireless called me on my cell from 800-922-0204 offering a $51 Credit?

    I have to log into Verizon51.com.  Is this true or legit?  The website looks like verizonwireless.com?

    Just found another thread elsewhere in the Communit on this same topic: I received a call on my phone and it said to go to www.verizon51.com  thenlog on and receive 51 dollars off my bill is that true

If you can share the details then we can assist. Keep in mind that if the number is changed online then there is not a cost.

  • How to get Request Offering from given Service Offering using Service Manager SDK?

    Recently, I am working on application where I have to fetch all Request Offering from given Service Offering.
    I can retrieve all Request Offering using following method of SM SDK :
    var requestOfferings = group.Extensions.Retrieve<RequestOffering>();// group is Management Group
    But I am unable to get request Offering from given Service Offering as I am new to this platform. I have searched in web but can not find solution to this problem.
    It would be great if someone guide for this problem or give me any suggestion related to this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    RequestOfferings are handled a little differently in the SDK, but fortunately, they're still backed by standard EnterpriseManagementObjects..it just takes a little work to get them.
    There are a few ways you can go about getting a request offering's related service offerings. I'm going to show you the relationship route, but you could also use a type projection to achieve the same goal.
    In your original post, you're simply retrieving _all_ request offerings..that's fine. If you wanted to retrieve a single request offering (as I do in my example) you need to find the request offering's identifier. This identifier is a pipe delimited string
    of various values. The quickest way to find it, in my opinion, is to query the MT_System$RequestOffering table in the database, but you can also find it by looping through all the RequestOfferings returned by group.Extensions.Retrieve<RequestOffering>();
    Anyway, for the following example to work, you only need your request offering's Identifier and your management server name. (Again, you could simply loop through all of your request offerings and retrieve the service offerings for all of them)
    The comments inline with this example should guide you through the steps.
    //Connect to the management group and prepare the class and relationship types that we'll need.
    String strMySCSMServer = "your server";
    EnterpriseManagementGroup emg = new EnterpriseManagementGroup(strMySCSMServer);
    ManagementPackClass mpcRO = emg.EntityTypes.GetClass(new Guid("8FC1CD4A-B39E-2879-2BA8-B7036F9D8EE7")); //System.RequestOffering
    ManagementPackRelationship relSORelatesToRO = emg.EntityTypes.GetRelationshipClass(new Guid("BE417A55-6622-0FC3-FCEA-90CD23E0FC23")); //System.ServiceOfferingRelatesToRequestOffering
    //An example of an extension identifier looks like this:
    //1|My.RO.MP|1.0.0.0|Offeringc921c4feujhoi8cdsjloiz352d7gf3k0|3|RequestOffering
    String strRequestOfferingIdentifier = "your request offering identifier";
    //Retrieve the request offering using an Extension Identifier.
    ExtensionIdentifier ei = null;
    ExtensionIdentifier.TryParse(strRequestOfferingIdentifier, out ei);
    RequestOffering ro = emg.Extensions.Retrieve<RequestOffering>(ei);
    //Using the request offering's Identifier, retrieve the enterprise management object that it represents
    EnterpriseManagementObjectCriteria emocRO = new EnterpriseManagementObjectCriteria("ID = '" + ro.Identifier + "'", mpcRO);
    IObjectReader<EnterpriseManagementObject> orROs = emg.EntityObjects.GetObjectReader<EnterpriseManagementObject>(emocRO, ObjectQueryOptions.Default);
    //Since we queried for only a single Request Offering, the object reader should contain 0 or 1 elements.
    EnterpriseManagementObject emoRO = null;
    if (orROs.Count > 0)
    emoRO = orROs.ElementAt(0);
    else
    Console.WriteLine("No Request Offering found");
    //Now, using the relationship type "System.ServiceOfferingRelatesToRequestOffering", get all Service Offering's related to our request offering
    IList<EnterpriseManagementRelationshipObject<EnterpriseManagementObject>> lstEMROs = emg.EntityObjects.GetRelationshipObjectsWhereTarget<EnterpriseManagementObject>(emoRO.Id, relSORelatesToRO, DerivedClassTraversalDepth.None, TraversalDepth.OneLevel, ObjectQueryOptions.Default);
    //The GetRelationshipObjectsWhereTarget method returns a list of EnterpriseManagementObjectRelationships..These objects represent that relationship between two objects.
    //Thus, these relationship objects have two properties of interest; TargetObject and SourceObject. In this case, service offerings are the source of this relationship type and
    //so, you can access the service offering object itself by using the relationship object's SourceObject property (which is nothing more than an EnterpriseManagementObject)
    foreach (EnterpriseManagementRelationshipObject<EnterpriseManagementObject> emro in lstEMROs)
    //emro.SourceObject is your Service Offering object. You can use it for whatever you need from here on out. In this example, i'm just writing out the DisplayName
    EnterpriseManagementObject emoServiceOffering = emro.SourceObject;
    Console.WriteLine(emoServiceOffering[null, "DisplayName"].Value);
    Give it a try, let me know if you have any questions :)

  • Processing Refund checks from One time vendor

    Hi Gurus
    I have an issue related to refund checks from vendors with whom we have very few transactions. My question is that if I have refund check from a vendor but do not have any subsequent payment to be made, how should I enter this check in the system? If I enter a credit memo, it should reduce the subsequent payments to the vendor but what to do if there is no subsequent payment?
    Thanks for all the help in advance.
    Regards,
    Shalu

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply. I tried to follow the instructions but could not process the entries. Let me enter the steps I am following:
    in Trannsaction F-43, I am debiting vendor AAA (not expense account but actual vendor number) using posting key 21 and crediting the expense GL account (posting key 50). So my vendor has a debit balance and the expense account has credit.
    In the second step, I am again in F-43 and I credit my vendor AAA (posting key 31) and debit the bank GL account (posting key 40). But I am getting error that document spliting is active and Item category 04000 not allowed in accounting transaction 0300/0001
    I am not sure if I am doing the correct entries or the scenario is clear to me. The exact need is that if there are no future payments, how do we handle any refund checks from the vendor that could be a one time vendor or any vendor with whom we have limited transactions.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Best Regards,
    Shalu

  • Phantom services offered from re-named server

    Testing Leopard on new xserve with OD and few services like web and netboot then used changeip to rename it. The original name seems stuck in OD because these services continue to show as available from that machine even when they're disabled in server manager. Other posts indicate that a name stuck in OD may be fixed by rolling the machine back to stand alone, so I unbound the machine from OD, returned it to its original name, put it in standalone, and then named it with the new name using changeip again. No joy - the phantom services continue to be offered from the old name. WGM's computer panel correctly shows the name while it is added to OD. How can I correct the OD record so that the services offered from this machine are accurate?

  • Lightroom 5 Offer from B&H

    I do lots of digital photography. I edit and print using Photoshop Elements. Is there any need for any other editing programs.
    Today there is a tempting offer from B&H for Lightroom 5. What is there to gain by buying and using  this?
    Thanks
    Bob  AZ

    The main benefits of LR5 are the raw tools which are the same as CS6. In comparison PSE has a stripped down version of Camera Raw. I see from your previous questions that you shoot lots of NEFs; so you would probably benefit from LR5. It also has far more print options than PSE.

  • Can you update an iOs app and change its platform offering from iPad/iPhone to just iPad?

    When building a new app with Adobe DPS to update an existing app, can you update an iOs app and change its platform offering from iPad/iPhone to just iPad?

    Vinod is correct in that you can build a new app that's iPad-only, but if you try to submit it as an update to the existing app, Neil is correct--Apple will reject it because it's considered a downgrade. You either need to stick to the universal app and do something like create a single iPhone folio that refers users to the iPad, or you need to submit it as a new app.

  • Lenovo Special offer from CLEARWIRE SCAM

    Hello,
    I'm writing this as a warning to anybody who considers wimax capable card for their thinkpad. 30 days Free trial is not available in Philadelphia, PA. I've ordered t400s with Intel 3150 specifically to try the CLEAR wimax service that is available in Philadelphia, PA. It seems that Lenovo customer service is unaware of the conditions of the Lenovo-Clear promotions published on the lenovo's web site http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/WW/AG/merchandising/US/popups/promos/clearwire.html especially when it says that 'You must activate the offer through the pop-up window that will only appear if you receive a WiMAX signal from the CLEAR network.' I have had one customer service representative hunging up on me and another one admitting that he has no idea what I am talking about. Even though I can see the CLEAR WiMAX service, no popup window has ever surfaced.

    Hello,
    Lenovo advertises "Get 30-days of service FREE everywhere CLEAR’s WiMAX network is available." The details of the offer are available here http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/WW/AG/merchandising/US/popups/promos/clearwire.html
    The only way to get the promotion is to use a pop-up window as per description referenced above. It says:
    You must activate the offer through the pop-up window that will only appear if you receive a WiMAX signal from the CLEAR network.
    and then
    This 30-Day Free Trial offer shall only be redeemed as described above.  This 30-Day Free Trial offer is not available for redemption through the CLEAR.com website or at any retail stores distributing CLEAR service.
    It seems that the description implies that the only way to redeem the offer is to use the pop-up window that would appear when laptop sees WiMAX signal from CLEAR. There're no other options available. This sounds reasonable enough, right? If there's a problem one would just pick up the phone and call Lenovo technical support. The knowledgeable and friendly customer service representative(s) would resolve the issue in no time. There's probably a button somewhere that needs to be pushed or something really simple like that. After all this is the only way to get the offer, so Lenovo would make it as simple as possible.
    There's a lot of CLEAR advertising here in Philadelphia, PA. The service is available throughout the city and in nearby counties. I was curious about WiMAX, so I've decided to spend extra money on Intel 5150 card while configuring my T400s. It comes with 30 days of free service, I thought. Yesterday I've decided to try the WiMAX service. I've watched the WiMAX tutorial first. It didn't mention anything about the pop-up window. I've used Access Connections tool to activate WiMAX. It searched for providers briefly and presented me with a single tower like icon labeled "Clear". No pop-up window appeared. I've tried 'Wide Scan", but the result was exactly the same. A single Clear tower, no pop-up window. On the next step I've clicked on the tower icon and then hit connect button that appeared on the right at the bottom of the screen. A small pop-up window appeared on the screen informing me about the progress. It was saying "Applying WiMAX settings", "Obtaining IP" and then completed. No other windows have appeared. The system just connected to the WiMAX. I thought, oh well, maybe I need to open up the web browser. May be the pop-up window is a web browser window? No, it was not the case. Internet explorer has greeted me with MSN and Lenovo tabs, no pop-up window. Ok, I'm missing something here. It's time to call the tech support. The representative promptly opened up a case, put me on hold for 7 minutes and came back with an answer. He said that there's something wrong with my setup, so I would have to restore the system to the factory condition. Ouch! The laptop is two days old; I didn't put a lot of things on it yet, so I've decided to give it a try. An hour later I've tried connecting to the WiMAX service again, this time using the system in its pristine state. The result was exactly the same as before. No pop-up window ever made its appearance to ask for my email, login and address. Ok, there's gotta be something I thought dialing the customer support again. This time the representative was not sure that WiMAX even available in Philadelphia. He then mentioned that he can't hear me well enough and asked if he can call me at a different phone number. I gave him the land line number, but nobody called. Half an hour later I've made another call to the technical support. The representative asked me if I can connect to the WiMAX service. My answer was yes, I can connect, but it's not the point. He said that if i'm able to connect, there's no issue and hang up the phone.
    I'm still able to connect to WiMAX today, but it wouldn't let me browse the net. I'm getting redirected to Clear web site where I can buy a day or a month of service. Still no pop-up window though. I guess I'm still missing something.
    Did anybody actually see the WiMAX CLEAR promotion pop-up window?

  • Has anyone gotten an offer from "elastic" (Republic Bank)

    Wow, I have not read this board for a long time - looks like maybe over a year.  Apologies to the 2 or 3 people who had sent me mail, unread until now, from late 2013. I got an offer in the mail from "elastic" (issued by Republic Bank) which is not a credit card, but a line of credit on a Payday-Loan-type account (although, as they point out, the terms are about 1/4 as bad as traditional payday loans.) I took them up on the offer and opened up an account with a $2,500 credit line.  I did not take out a loan at the time of application (which was instantly approved as the letter promised, once I logged on and filled it out.) Has this already been talked about here?  I searched and didn't find any conversation about it.  If I got a mailer, and so did my husband, I assume many people will be getting it,so I thought I'd start the mammoth "elastic" thread.

    I just wanted to, add a comment for the elastic line of credit. I received this offer in the mail and was very hesitant at first because all the scams out there. I went online and entered all the pertinent info and was given a credit line of $2500. I transferred $1500 to my account and it was confirmed 2 days later. Elastic was there for me when I needed them. I used the money as a down payment on a newer truck and I am very thankful to elastic for approving me. This is not a scam. The terms are agreeable. Only bad thing about it is that they take money every week from your account. Some people will unfortunately go into the red and get bank overdrafts because they couldn't cover the weekly payments. So my advice is this. Don't take out more than you can pay back. They provide an easy to understand repayment plan, it will show you in advance what you have to pay every week. Oh and one more thing. Once you except the loan you will have 2 weeks before you have to make your first payment. My first payment on a 1500 advance is only 78.00. So if you need money in a hurry and you can afford to pay it back I say give elastic a shot. I didn't expect to get approved but I did.
