    Background
    1. Weblogic 10.3.6.0 running on Oracle Linux 6.5 with Oracle JRockit(R) (build R28.2.3-13-149708-1.6.0_31-20120327-1523-linux-x86_64, compiled mode)
    2. Oracle Apex 4.2.1

    4. Apex and Apex Listener running on the Weblogic box above
    5. SQL Developer 4.0.2 running on Windows 7 64 bit / Java 1.7.0_55
Updated Apex to 4.2.5 via p17966818_425_Generic.zip patchset. Apex environment running fine as do all applications via Listener 1.1.3
Updated Oracle Listener to the latest version of Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
    Current Status
Apex Applications and RESTful services are running fine.
    Problem
Unable to connect SQL Developer 4.0.2 to Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
Error message in SQL Developer - Cannot connect to DEV. HTTP/1.1 403 Target service not allowed
    Additional Information
    Steps followed -
    1. The oracle users APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER did not exist, so I ran apex_rest_config.sql from the APEX 2.4.1 patchset whilst connected sys as sysdba and provided the same password as APEX_PUBLIC_USER for both users.
    2. I also ran
    grant insert, delete on APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups to APEX_LISTENER;
    alter session set current_schema = APEX_LISTENER;
    create or replace synonym wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups for APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups;
as per Oracle SQL Developer User's Guide Release 4.0

    Any help much appreciated

Further to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
    Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:
INFO: Error: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_RT$APPROVALS_SGID_FK) violated - parent key not found, occurred during execution of: [CALL, insert into wwv_flow_rt$approvals (user_name,status,client_id,security_group_id,created_by,created_on,updated_by,updated_on) values(/*in:user_id*/?,/*in:status*/?,/*in:client_id*/?,/*in:tenant_id*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?), [tenant_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [client_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [user_id, in, class java.lang.String], [status, in, class oracle.dbtools.rt.oauth.ApprovalRequest$Status], [created, in, class java.sql.Timestamp]]with values: [adminlistener, APPROVED, 3858401374580004, -1, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785]
SQL Developer responded with an Authentication Failed titled dialog with the following displayed in the body of the dialog

Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to tackle this?

  • Connect SQL Developer to APEX 4.0

I've just installed SQL Developer 3.0 and i want to connect it to my 10g XE database.
I APEX i have an account with all my applications tables and procedures, etc. The problem is that i can't access this account from SQL*Plus or from SQL Developer.
Any tip about how to connect SQL Developer to my APEX account?
    Kind Regards,
    Cearnau Dan

    Hi,
With SQL Developer you connect to database user/schema.
It is totally different thing than Apex users.
    Apex users "lives in" workspace.
And database user/schema is what you assign to Apex workspace and use as application parsing schema.
I'm bad explain, but check this

  • Can connect via ODBC but not via SQL Developer?

    Hi, all.
    My setup:
    Windows XP Pro
    JDK 1.6
    SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.45
I'm attempting to connect to an Oracle DB using OS authentication and trying hand-entry of the host and SID; and also trying my TNS file. When I attempt to connect via SQL Developer, I get the following error:
"Status : Failure -Test failed: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied."
When I attempt this same connection, however, using ODBC and Access, I can get right in and see the tables.
What can I try in order to get SQL Developer working correctly?
    Thanks,
    IVR Avenger

I'm not really familiar with connections Using OS authentication, but if OCI+TNS based connections work you could try to activate OCI connections by selecting
Preferences -> Database -> Advanced -> Use OCI/Thick Driverand then use the TNS connection type when creating your connection.
It should work well even with the thin driver but i cannot help you in this case because i've never had to use this kind of authentication.

  • Username password works in SQL Plus not in SQL Developer

I have SQL Dev 1.2.1. It works fine with some databases, but with two databases with logons managed by Oracle Enterprise User it does not work. I receive an Ora 01017 error invalid username password. The user name and password work fine from SQL Plus and from a third party tool. I have a local developer client environment installed, so am using TNS. SQL Developer was installed before the client environment. I was not trying to access this database before the client environment install. I was using the basic connection before the client install. Neither basic or TNS connection works for this particular database.
    Any ideas?

We have changed the password and it still does not work. There are no special characters in the password.
I am tempted to think the problem is the jdbc driver versions. The logon for Enterprise user controlled databases stopped working after I installed the thick client Oracle developer. I have tried to find the threads with information on disabling the thick client jdbc but have not found them. I also have tried to enter a URL for the thin client without success. One of our DBAs is saying that the 11g clients are broken and he is in communication with Oracle about it. He says 10g works but 11g does not.
Any further help would be appreciated.

  • How to connect sql developer OE schema and Hr schema,

    Hi ,
I downloaded Oracle 10g express edition and SQL developer downloaded in my computer, I don't know how to connect to OE and HR schema, by default the SQL developer and Oracle 10g has only sytem and sys database. And as well I wanted to migrate datas from third party datas , could anyone please , pllease guide me. I am new to this field and just started to learn. what is listener and how to activate Listener and Repositary
    Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance
    Chan

The HR schema installs fine in XE, but the OE schema doesn't quite. I've done it, but there will be errors. The reason is that the OE schema uses some features of XML DB that are not supported in XE. If you want to use the OE schema in XE and you don't mind if it isn't a complete OE schema, then you can get the installation scripts from an Oracle SE or EE installation.
You can also get it from the companion disk for Oracle SE or EE, but this is a bit challenging, because you can't get it by running OUI unless you first install Oracle SE or EE. You need to run an archive utility like WinZip or 7-Zip and look for the scripts inside a compressed file - I forget which one, but I'll look it up if you like. Oh, and since the OE schema isn't really supposed to be installed on XE, Oracle does not support any of the methods for putting it there.

  • Problem connecting SQL Developer 1.5.1 with Subversion 1.5 (win XP)

Hi I'm trying to connect the latest version of SQL Developer 1.5.1 to an svn version 1.5 repository.
I'm on a win XP machine. (svn is on Linux red hat)
    The error I see is;
Testing read access for repository svn://<xxxxxxxxxxx>/var/svn...
    svn: Malformed network data
    svn: Malformed network data
    Access refused.
I'm able to connect to other (older versions of svn) repositories.
I notice that SQL Developer uses SVNkit 1.1.6. and I have a feeling that this is not compatible with svn 1.5
Has anyone encountered this problem or has anyone successfully connected SQL DEV 1.5.1 to SVN 1.5?
    Regards,
    Patrick
note: the svn repository is a source code repository. (.java .class and .sql files.)
there is no DB data there, and no DB schema. (other than in the .sql files)
I'm saying this because I'm not an SQL specialist, (and even then, I'm mainly mysql!) and I seem to get the impression that source control to SQL guys might mean something slightly different. i.e. versioning a DB rather than the source code that creates a DB. If I'm wrong about this, apologies! ;)

If I'm wrong about this, apologies! ;)There are arguments both ways, but the current implementation in SQLDeveloper only supports version control on source files. IMO there needs to be a link between the vc repository, the source file you are working on and the object it creates in the database.
As it stands, you can edit and compile a procedure in the database, but if you don't remember to extract it back to its source file, you end up with a mismatch. Similarly, if you edit the source file and forget to run it into the database you end up with a mismatch.

    Hi 794752,
-Does remote sqlplus work from the same XP machine?
-Have you tried thin (default) or thick (with 11.2 instant client) in SQLDeveloper?
-Have you other Oracle software on the XP machine? If so you may have to set ORACLE_HOME in your cmd session to the SQLdeveloper software such that %ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib exists, (so SQLDeveloper does not try your existing ORACLE_HOME).
Please do not use all CAPITALS.

  • Connection sql developer

Hi, I have problems to create a new connection on sql developer. I I create the new connection, the subject, but then when I turn off the computer and then turn it on, starting sqldeveloper, the connection is gone. How can I do? Thank you all for your patience

What version of SQL Developer? What operating system?
You may not have permissions to the SQL Developer system directory (on windows  c:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming\sql developer, I think).

    Hello everyone!
I have a query that works perfectly when executed from SQL Developer. However, executing the same query from C# gives error ORA-01427.
I am using Oracle.DataAccess.dll version 2.111.6.20, which cannot be changed, because the software is distributed and all users would have to install the new driver.

now if the sum is changing the value then I have to ask: are these hitting the same data sources?
let's change the query around a bit and see if you get the same result
    try this query
    with
    mat_stats
    as
    SELECT 1 NR  ,
           5 VER ,
           'NOK' STAT ,
           4 CNT

           1 CNT
    FROM DUAL
    -- part 2
    select distinct
    nr,
    VER,
SUM(CASE STAT WHEN 'OK' THEN CNT ELSE 0 END) OVER() OK_CNT,
SUM(CASE STAT WHEN 'TOL' THEN CNT ELSE 0 END) OVER() tol_cnt
    FROM MAT_STATS ;
    NR                     VER                    OK_CNT                 TOL_CNT
1                      5                      0                      1                      note I just "faked" your data based on your initial results, so you ought to be able to be able to change the with clause back to yours.
Run a full select in C# and look over the result set (fill a datatable and do a row.count then compare to a full select in Developer and see if the row counts are the same.

  • Notes on Sql Developer - Importing - XLS

This isn't really a question, but I thought I should get the record of my tribulations posted so someone else won't have to work as hard as I did.
Please note when using import in sql dev - first, the file MUST be a xls formated BINARY file. I received a file with the extension xls, but it was actually a tab delimited csv, and the only message import gave me was : 'an error has occurred' , and then a stack trace with :
java.io.IOException: Invalid header signature; read 664572811392150337, expected -2226271756974174256
         at org.apache.poi.poifs.storage.HeaderBlockReader
A ascii csv would cause this since it doesn't have the binary header. Incidentally, poi is a java (apache) library for reading microsoft file formats.

You can try changing the column in the excel to general datatype before you attempt to load using sql developer.
    alternate way...
You can save the excel file as .csv file. Once saved you should be able to use the sql*loader to load the data.
    the sqlldr command for online
    sqlldr userid control=test.ctl log=test.log bad=test.bad data=test.csv discard=test.txt

    into table constraint_chk
    fields terminated by ','
    (column1 char(10),
    column2 date,
    column3 number) ;

  • Seeing decimal values in TOAD, but not in SQL Developer

I'm writing on behalf of a co-worker. He's using SQL Developer to look at some records in a database, but in one column he sees zeroes instead of the correct decimal values (the values are between 0 and 1).
However, the developer he's working with is using TOAD and sees the correct decimal values in the column.
Any idea as to how to get the decimal values to appear correctly within SQL Developer?

The database version is 10g, the version supported by TOAD is 9.
    Hi ,
1/I have not seen this reported please give a create
table statement and some test data to insert to
reproduce the problem.. Please give versions of
SQLDeveloper and the Oracle database - out current
production release of SQLDeveloper is 1.5.1(.54.40)
2.If you can convert the number to a string at the
database side say with TO_CHAR you should see the
string representation of the number in SQLDeveloper.
This would work if you are using a select via the
worksheet or a view on the table with the number if
you want to see it in a views data tab.
