Scanning int without using nextInt

Question

hello
is it possible to use
something.matches("[0-9]+") && text.hasNext()) {
                       String number = text.nextLine();to check whether the first line of input contains is a number and then converting the string to a integer

                    }where scanner 1 is scanner that read a txt doc and scanner(text) reads the lines
and what's in the txt doc is
1000

where i want it to only parse the 1000
