Scanning suddenly stopped working

I've been scanning for years, but as of yesterday, all I get is "The scan cannot be performed because another program or computer is using the netwokred HP image device.  Try again later".  I last performed a scan on 11 July.  Today is the 26th of July. My configuration is that my computer is connected to a wireless bridge, that connects to a wireless router, which connectes to the wirelss HP OfficeJet Proj L7780. I've rebooted the printer, the router, the bridge, and the computer numerous times in the last two days to no relief of this problem. I've reinstalled the drivers 3 time now.  I also checked the firewall.  Could find no changes.  I did add a new rule to allow UDP and TCP traffic to and the printer. Though I think it's a bit redundant.  However, during the installation it indicates possible firewall issues with two TCP Ports.  These ports show in the firewall to be enabled... actually all are enabled for the HP drivers that I see, and for the OfficeJet IP address that I added in trying to address this issue. I ran HP Print and Scan Docter 4.7 and it gets as far as the Driver Check.  It indicates a driver error and that the tool was unable to resolve the problem. I do have another computer which also connects to the router and from there wireless to the OfficeJet Pro 7780.  It can scan fine.  No problems.  However, I should not have to go to that machine to perform scans and then transfer the scan results to my computer. This leads me to believe that the issue is not with the OfficeJet Pro 7780 or the router. Despite the ports being open, devices being rebooted, and software being installed, I am no longer able to scan from my computer.  Is it a matter of time before the other computer stops being able to scan? Any assistance is much appreciated. Bry

I would like to help.
When you said that you uninstalled and re-installed the software, did you mean the printers software or the app?
If you uninstalled the printer try uninstalling the app.

    Usually if the webcam software has been installed, you should be able to start this software going to:
    All Programs -> Toshiba
    There you should find the webcam software check if you can use and control the webcam after this software has been started normally the webcam control bar should pop up if you would move the mouse cursor above the upper display area PS: the bar can be moved to other area too; left right or bottom

  • Printhead suddenly stopped working

    About 4 years ago I bought the photosmart plus b210a all-in-one and about a year later after replacing the ink cartridges as instructed for this particular model and as i had done everal times already, It suddenly stopped working. It ran the test page print fine but when i went to scan an item it wouldnt scan at all. I ran through all troubleshooting and everything pointed to a broken printhead.  This simply doesnt make sense.  I recently found this printer in the closet where i put it after the issue.  I want to use it again but found that these printshoes can cost upwards from $50, thats almost the price i paid for the printer back then.  I might as well just get another shotty printer. This printer constantly gave me problems especially since it liked to reset its network connectivity constantly.  anyway i believe this issue to be the fault of hp selling a shotty product. however since i dont have the money to buy a new printer and since it was practically new when it broke itself i want to find a way to fix this.  I will not pay for a print shoe that costs almost as much as the printer itself it is ridiculous and reeks of corporate greed.

  • Touch ID suddenly stops working.

    I just got my iPhone 6 over a week ago and this is my first time having an iPhone with the Touch ID. Everything was working fine until today. The Touch ID decides to work then suddenly stops working then back and forth. When it doesn't get my finger print it says "try again" but it's not even trying to scan it. I've read a few posts about how your hands have to be clean, dry and to clean the home button with rubbing alcohol, etc. I've read and done it. I've also restarted my phone a few times in hopes it will fully start working again but no luck. I'll admit that I had my phone laying on a counter while I was taking a shower today and it got humid. But, I've done that in the past with other phones and they're perfectly fine. Do I have to be in a perfect temperature for the Touch ID sensor to work correctly forever or what??? I can still go back and change my phone but if this is a common problem then I rather just keep this phone.

    I have figured out the wall connection somehow messed with Touch ID. I noticed when it would only work while it wasn't charging. I changed the charger and it's working perfectly!! Leaving this post just in case someone has the same problem I had.

    It seems when i do something simple as typing text, it'll stop working and give me a "Adobe Photoshop suddenly stop working". My CS4 32bit version seems to working fine with whatever i'm working on. I'm running a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate on a new computer Intel quad core with 4gig of ram if that helps.     Either the physical drive or the enclosure electronics has failed. The light you are seeing is powered by the USB connection, the power, electricity, all USB ports put out. That doesn't mean the actual physical hard drive or the USB to SATA bus electronics are working properly. If it doesn't show in Disk Utility then it is DEAD.
    Most of the time it is the enclosures electronics that fail. Removing the physical drive from the enclosure and put it in another enclosure or using a SATA to USB adapter, one that has it's own AC power supply, might allow you to get the files off the drive.

  • Satellite L300 suddenly stopped working - new motherboard needed

    My Sat L300 suddenly stopped working the other day.
    It kept freezing to start with, then nothing at all. So, I kill-disked the HDD and tried to re-install Windows (XP).
    During the install it threw up a message that some internal components had been incorrectly installed and needed to be reinstalled.
    I was told to remove the memory cards and re-seat them.
    That did not work. I thought that perhaps the HDD was damaged, so I fitted a new one, and started to reinstall Windows.
    Once again, same message. One of my colleagues at work suggested that the Motherboard was probably U/S.
    So I have been trawling the .net to find a replacement. Laptop out of warranty! I am told that some other serial numbered motherboards will work with this laptop. Don't really want to get a motherboard only to find its never going to work! My unit has an SPS number of: V000138330.
    I am being offered one with an SPS of: V000138390.
    Any ideas? Will this one work?
    And if it does, will it give me the functionality that I used to enjoy?!
    Sorry for the long sob story.
    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Sorry but can you tell us more about your notebook? which model do you have exactly (L300-xxx)?
    Do you have European model?
    Has your notebook valid warranty?
    Maybe I have misunderstood something but why you want to exchange mainboard if the warranty is probably still valid?

    Clean the lint/debris from the charging port and plug the cable in.

    The cause:  It is now clear what caused this problem.  For years I had several “all-day” events in my Outlook calendar (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).  In May 2012 I decided to make some of them one hour  events so I could add alerts to remind me of the event.  I did this by dragging them in Outlook to the time I wanted and expanding them to the time slot desired and then adding the alarm.
    The symptom:  Syncing stopped working for the calendar but continued working for contacts and notes.  I didn’t realize sync was failing until months later when I missed two very important phone calls, so when I noticed it the cause was not obvious. 
    The failed attempts:  I’m head of a software firm and my calendar sync is a crucial to my business life so I took this on with a vengeance.  From a quick look at events in Outlook and the iPhone I could see that the problem started in May 2012.  Events before May were in both Outlook and the iPhone but events after May were only one or the other.  Unfortunately I had changed several other things at the same time relating to other events so again the cause was not obvious.  MANY calls with AppleCare proved them incompetent so my internal IT guys assisted trying many things.  We tried a huge number of calendar changes and several versions of iTunes, iPhone OS and Office as well as both iPhone 4 and 5, all without success.
    The fix:  After 18 months of frustration, MANY  hundreds of $ expense and MANY hours of wasted time I saw a blog that had a calendar sync  problem and it indicated all day events were related.  I changed the display of the Outlook calendar to the list view, added columns so I could see “all day” event check marks as well as times of events,  sorted on the “all day” event column to move them to the top, and for all events that were “all day” events AND had a start and end time, I removed recurrence and then added the annual recurrence back…
    After I fixed all events that had BOTH “all day” set and had a start/end time, I tried another sync.  It synced for the first time in 18 months! 
    Problem occurred May 2012 – fixed Nov 2013

    Let your ipod die. Then when it is dead charge it adn turn it back on. After that it should be fine.

    Hi there,
    I have an HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC (QG411PA) running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit for more than a couple of years already. During those times up until now, whenever my laptop is on standby for an hour or so, its keyboard and touchpad suddenly stops working, regardless if its running on battery or on AC power.
    I always ensure that I have an external mouse in order for me to navigate properly and pull up the on-screen keyboard in order to type once that issue arises.
    All appears to be updated in terms of Windows Updates and I even reformatted it, but issue still persists.
    Is this particular issue that I am experiencing a harware issue? Perhaps a software issue? Or maybe a defective model itself?

    Steps to drain the Static charge and loading default BIOS settings to resolve the issue
    Step 01. Turn OFF the Notebook
    Step 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery too
    Step 03. Press and Hold the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minute
    Step 04. Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter
    Step 05. Start the Notebook and keep tapping F10 Key during the startup to access the BIOS
    Step 06. Once you get to the BIOS, Please press F5 or F9 Key to load setup defaults for the BIOS
    Step 07. Now let's press Esc/Escape Key. Save Changes and Exit - Yes

  • Outputs Suddenly Stopped Working.

    I have a 5th gen Ipod that I've taken very good care of. Until yesterday I've had no problems with it at all. I was using the Ipod in my car w/ my Itrip and the Audio suddenly stopped working. I assumed it was the Itrip not working correctly, so I plugged it into a set of speakers (via the bottom output) but that wasn't working either. Then I plugged headphones in and there is no audio feeding through the headphone output either. I can see on the screen that the songs are playing on the ipod, but apparently the outputs are not functioning correctly. I tried all of the "Rs" recommended in troubleshooting but those did not help. Any suggestions?

    i have the exact same problem. Although i am able to here the clicks throught the headphones which makes me wonder that this is something with software. although i have restored and reinstalled and all that, nothing.
    Anyone have a solution?

  • Ethernet suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason

    My late 2011 MBP is usually functioning as a desktop with external display and keyboard/trackpad, so I have it connected via ethernet when it's on the desk.  However, my connection suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason.......... BUT clearly not a router problem as there's no problem with the wifi connection.  System Preferences > Network > Ethernet is telling me:
    Status: Connected.  Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet.
    Dunno how this happened, as to my knowledge I didn't actually do anything to cause this problem, just randomly stopped working.  Any solutions much appreciated, thanks :-)

    If the technician at the shop is competent, he has given you a diagnosis that should have identified the problem.  You could run the Apple Hardware Test to verify the findings:

    Note the Apple Hardware Test is not definitive.
    Go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites.  They have parts and installation instructions.  To install an Airport card is fairly easy.
