SCCM 2012 R2 Office 2013 deploiement 64 bit and 32 bit versions

We have some
Windows 7 64bit os with office 2013 32 bit
also
Windows 7 32bit os with office 2013 32 bit
We need to deploy office 2013 32 bit all over with sccm 2012 r2
what's the best way for the deployment
we also want to be sure to keep all user data for outlook. we don't want to loose that
can I install a 32 bit office and in the setup /admin use uninstall and everything will work

setup.exe /admin is the tool to use when customizing the deployment of Office; especially when deploying through SCCM.
The way I saved user profile data is to set it to Use Existing Profile under Outlook Profile of setup /admin
Yes, I have the default setup behavior box checked so it removes all previous Office version applications.

  • SCCM 2012 - Deploying Office 2013 Application - Setup Errors

    dear SCCM admins,
    i am trying to test deploying office 2013 to users in my company. i made the application and deployments. the application appeared in the software center and in the application catalog.
    The problem is whenever a user "which is not a local administrator" tries to install this application, it gives me the setup errors message saying "You must have administrative privileges to install or uninstall this
    product."
    Is there any specific configuration to make to overcome this behavior???
    appreciate your suggesstions

    As you can see from the screenshot you need to add the ProductID after the uninstall command.
    See here for finding the ProductID

  • Move a Excel 2010 Dokument Addin Project (Visual Studio 2012) to another devleopment machine with Visual Studio 2012 , but Office 2013

    Hi
    we do have the following situation
    on computer A there is a Excel Document Addin development project , Visual Studio 2012, Office 2010 installed. All works fine.
    we would like to bring the project to another machine with Visual Studio 2012, but Office 2013 installed.
    Visual Studio can not build the project. It says that the application is not installed on the machine (though Excel 2013 is installed , but not Excel 2010) It seems to have a problem with the
    vbproj.
    In other forums I found a hint that "Hostpackage = ..} needs to be set accordingly in the vbproj. I created then a "empty Excel-Addin project" under Visual Studio , looked at
    the Hostpackage entry, put that into the vbproj of "problem project. It still does not work.
    It would be great if anyone could help.
    Thomas

    Hello Eugene
    Problem is that it says that projectboard (the name of the main project) can not be loaded. All other projects in the solution can be loaded. Strange thing is , now that I try to create a empty excel Project it says that according to Excel security settings
    it can not be generated !?
    I opened then Excel and set all Trust Center settings to "Default" - but no effect. I really have no idea what is wrong ..!?

  • Excel COM object calls break with Office 2013 upgrade on 64-bit OS?

    Out of the 1000+ computers in the company mine is the only one running 64-bit windows 7.  I have noticed that when i try to run a small DLL i created to convert Excel files to Tab Delimited files it is crashing only on my computer.
    I have debugged the source code and found that there is no real exception being thrown except a popup does appear in the background stating "We're sorry, but Excel has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Excel will need to
    be closed as a result.  Would you like us to repair now? [Repair Now][Help][Close]"
    If i open excel via the main application this same popup comes up and when i click repair excel closes.  when re-opened Excel re-activates and then works fine.
    here is a sample of my (VERY simple) code which has worked for years on office 2007 with 64-bit OS:
    Dim excelPath As String = "C:\test.xlsx"
    Try
    objXL = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
    With objXL.Application
    .displayalerts = False
    .Visible = False
    .workbooks.Open(excelPath)
    .Workbooks(ExcelFileName).SaveAs(csvPath & csvFileName, Excel.XlFileFormat.xlCurrentPlatformText, , , , , Excel.XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlNoChange, , , , , )
    .workbooks(csvFileName).Close(csvPath & csvFileName, savechanges:=True)
    End With
    Catch ex2 As Exception
    Throw ex2
    Finally
    objXL.Quit()
    objXL = Nothing
    End Try
    I have isolated the exact line that is causing the exception to be thrown...
    .Visible = False
    Why would hiding the Excel UI cause an error of "We're sorry, but Excel has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly" to be displayed?
    If i remark out this line then the application seems to work properly for me...

    That I do not know. Do you have another machine where Office 2013 is installed, and where you can test? It could be system configuration issue, could be a change in the application behavior or a difference between 32-bit and 64-bit. You are updating
    at least a couple of generations of software and now running in a 64-bit environment so there is always the potential for changes in behavior and software defects.
    Unfortunately, I do not have Office 2013 64-bit installed so I cannot test this scenario.
    You could also try posting to the
    Excel for Developers forum to see if anyone has encountered the same issue when using Excel automation.

  • Office 2013 Professional Plus - 32 bit Deployment takes an unacceptable time to deploy in SCCM 2012 - SP1 CU3

    We recently migrated over to SCCM 2012 SP1 - CU3 the first of the year from SCCM 2007 SP2.  We have used SCCM in the past to deploy Office 2010 and had deployed Office 2013 to our IT Dept. before moving over to SCCM 2012.  The deployment went as
    expected.  Now that we are ready to start deploying Office 2013 to our corporate workstations, the deployment time is running 4.5 hours to 5.5 hours from the local site server DP.  I am afraid to find out what time we are looking at for remote DP's.
    The three factors that are different is that our SCCM site server is virtual, it is running 2012 for the OS, and obviously SCCM 2012-SP1 - CU3.   We are using the same package source files.   Previous to a successful deployment we were
    seeing hash mismatch errors which MS support pointed us to the nic driver on the VM was using E1000E and to change it to a VMX something driver.
    So I guess my question is anyone else out there deploying Office 2013 ProPlus - 32 bit from this type of environment?  Our previous deployment time for office was a little over an hour (not five hours).  Any suggestions where to look to improve
    the deployment time?
    I am expected to deploy this in one week and have been working on these issues for weeks.

    I see now that you are using a combination of scripts and ConfigMgr package/program.
    The AppEnforce.log file is for use with the new ConfigMgr Application model.
    Is there any reason that you don't use the new model for deploying Office 2013? It's a single step process and perfect for it. If you use the Office Customisation Tool you can customise what you like. The process will then uninstall Office 2010 and install
    Office 2013.
    This is how you do it

  • Office 2013 with Visio and Project Error - Package manifest is invalid

    In July I successfully created an App-V install of Office 2013 VL using the ODT. This week I decided to try just doing Visio as we don't install it or Project on all systems. I used my same customconfig.xml and just changed the ProPlusVolume to VisioProVolume
    and changed the source path. Everything downloaded and packaged fine. I was able to import into SCCM just fine and create a deployment to my test collection. However when I run the install out of Software Center I get (as part of a much longer error) the message
    in AppEnforce.log that the package manifest is invalid. Thinking that maybe I had to include Office as long with Visio I tried packaing all three items but still get the same error. Has anyone else seen this behavior and/or ideas how to fix it? Can I sequence
    just Visio or just Project? I'm including my config.xml just in case I've got something wrong with it that I haven't caught. Thanks
     <Configuration>

    </Configuration>

    Hy. I'm having the same problema.
    I'm trying to create na app-v package (v.5 SP2) of Office 2013.
    I downloaded the Office Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36778
    I installed it into C:\Office2013pck shared that folder as
    \\APPVMANAGER\Office2013 and mapped as Z:\.
    I changed the configuration.xml file to:
    <Configuration>
    <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" >
    <Product ID="ProPlusVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    <Product ID="VisioProVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    </Add>
    </Configuration>
    Then I ran in na elevated cmd:
    >Z:
    >\\APPV-CL-WIN7DEF\Office2013\setup.exe /download
    \\APPV-CL-WIN7DEF\Office2013\configuration.xml
    and
    >\\APPV-CL-WIN7DEF\Office2013\setup.exe /packager
    \\APPV-CL-WIN7DEF\Office2013\configuration.xml
    \\APPV-CL-WIN7DEF\Office2013\Appv
    Everything seemed to work fine.
    The creted folder had Office\Data\15.0.4649.1001 folder (I guessed this is a version number)
    When I tried to add the package to App-V Server (in the Console) I get the following error:
    An unexpected error occurred while retrieving AppV package manifest. Windows error code: 1465 - Windows was unable to parse the requested XML data.
    I tryied to publish it from powershell, getting the same error message agalluci image post shows.
    From the Event Log I got this additional information:
    There was a problem retrieving the requested package \\APPVMANAGER\AppVpck\Office\VisioProVolume_ProPlusVolume_en-us_x86.appv for import. Error message: Unspecified error
    Element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/appv/2010/manifest}UsedKnownFolders' is unexpected according to content model of parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/2010/manifest}Package'.
    I haven't found any indication of which file is the manifest app-v file.
    I also haven't found any .xml with the "UsedKnownFolders" tag (I changed the .appv package extension to .zip and explored some of the files).
    I tryied creating a package for 32 and 64 bits, only office, office and visio, and office visio and project running Windos 7 and Windows 2012.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 MDT 2013 Install Features after OS Install

    I have a question in regards to installing Features on Windows Servers Post OS Install/OSD.
    I have MDT 2013 integrated with SCCM 2012 R2. I have created a MDT TS doing the following:
    Microsoft Deployment Custom Task Sequence (All other ones were for OSD)
    I removed all the steps in the TS except for the "Use Toolkit Package"
    Added Several MDT Sequence for Install Roles and Features, Selected SNMP for Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2008 R2 Core, 2012, 2012 R2.
    Removed the boot image since it is not needed.
    Deployed to my Test Collection.
    I see the TS Running on the test servers but when I check Server Manager the SNMP is still not installed even though software center shows installed on the TS.
    Am I missing something here? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!

    Disregard my previous post. I was tinkering with the Compliance Settings and corrected my ignorance.
    Here were my steps:
    Create Configuration Item
    General: Put the name, Set Type to Window, filter set to "Server"
    Supported Platforms: All servers 2008 and newer
    Settings: Name,
    Discovery Script -PowerShell
    $FeatureName = "SNMP-Service"
    If (Get-WindowsFeature | Where {$_.State -eq "Enabled" -and $_.FeatureName -eq $FeatureName})
        $Compliance = "Compliant"
    Else {
        $Compliance = "NonCompliant"
    Return $Compliance
    Remediation Script - PowerShell
    $FeatureName = "SNMP-Service"
    Import-Module ServerManager
    Install-WindowsFeature -Name $FeatureName -IncludeAllSubFeature
    Compliance Rule: Name, Rule Type = Value, Must Comply Equals Compliant, Checked Run remediation script when not compliant, set Reports to Information
    Created Config Baseline, Assigned Config Item for SNMP Service and then deployed to my Servers.

  • Printer driver hangs when printing with Office 2013/Windows 8 64 bit

    Printer: HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi
    Printer Driver: V5.1 (up to date, downloaded from HP support website) or Generic V5.6
    OS: Windows 8 Professional 64bit
    When I try to print a certain Excel document with Excel 2013 and printer driver V5.1, the program hangs and needs to be terminated via task manager. This happens always with the same document, but not with all documents. The program hangs also when opening the print preview for the same document.
    The same document prints fine with the generic printer driver V5.6 and with the driver that comes with Windows 8.
    The same document prints fine with driver V5.1 under Windows 7 and Office 2010. The combination Windows 7/Office 2013 was not tested. The combination Windows 8/Office 2010 was also not tested.
    When I try to print an empty document with Word 2013 and generic printer driver V5.6, the program hangs and needs to be terminated via task manager.
    My conclusion is that the HP printer drivers have a problem with either Windows 8 or Office 2013 or a combination of both.
    The printer driver that comes with Windows 8 and is automatically installed is useful as a temporary workaround, but it lacks certain options, e.g. manual duplex.
    On request, I am ready to send the Excel document by e-mail for verification of the problem.
    Any help or suggestions will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Uli
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    From what you describe you are having issues printing from MS Office. Have you had trouble printing from other resources on your computer (e.g. from the internet or another program)? The first thing I am going to suggest is that we start by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer from the resources available online.
    First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
    In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.

  • Extremely Slow File Menu Office 2013 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), but everything else is perfect

    I have Office 2013 installed on my Windows 8 (now 8.1) computer. For about three weeks, all programs in the office suite ran perfectly. However, an extremely annoying problem suddenly appeared, which has been plaguing me for the past two weeks: The file
    menu is EXTREMELY slow consistently across all programs in the Office 2013 suite. There's a very noticeable delay, about 2 or 3 seconds, between when I click the FILE button, and when the file menu actually appears. Similarly, all options within this menu
    are laggy. Typically, the program will enter an unresponsive state for those few seconds and then promptly recover. I haven't lost any data to this issue yet, but it wastes my time.
    I don't have much more than the essentials installed on my computer. Drivers for my motherboard, NVidia graphics card, Office, web browser and about 6 other trusted programs.
    Any and all help appreciated. Thanks.

  • Sccm 2012 r2 console, devices, column layout and order is reset to default

    Hi :)
    I am running sccm 2012 r2 console on sccm server. I've added some columns into Assets and Management, Devices (beside default name, client, site code, client activity) ie. client version, endpoint protection enabled etc. I've left console open up and running
    and after some when I get back, column layout is reset to default 4 columns :(
    Can you fix please that system center consoles remember column layout and order ? (sc vmm 2012 r2 does not remember only when you add column maximum memory). :(

    This has to be something to do with the consolesettings.dat file. Do you have folder redirection set up on the AppData\Roaming folder? I have managed to recreate your issue using the following method:
    1. Add in some columns to the Devices view.
    2. Go to the \\server\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\ConfigMgr10 and deleted the consolesettings.dat file.
    3. Relaunced the console and the columns have reset to default.
    4. Set the columns again, closed down the console and the .dat file is recreated.
    5. Re launch the SCCM console and the settings are retained.
    I suggest you check either the C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\ConfigMgr10\consolesettings.dat. or \\server\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\ConfigMgr10\consolesettings.dat and the time stamp of the file. Do some tests and recreate
    the steps above.
    Somewhere along the line your dat file is being removed with your bespoke settings.

    Hi,
    How can I force a policy update to update machine policy and scep definitions at the end of
    SCCM 2012 OSD Task Sequence,
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I normally use this solution from Chris Nackers to deploy the latest EP definitions during OSD and deploy a custom EP policy, it works great. The policy will be downloaded when the client is registered.

  • Office 2013 - Evaluation of VL bits?

    Hi there,
    I have a customer asking if there is a way to install a trial version of Office 2013 [Volume License edition] for testing to see if it is a suitable solution for their environment. I've done some digging and haven't found a way to do this, so I was hoping

  • App-V Office 2013 MLCFG32.cpl and Search indexing

    Hi there,
    I used the ODT to make an app-v package of office 2013. However when I try to load the mlcfg32.cpl it displays the following error:
    The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.
    I start the cpl from the following location:
    C:\ProgramData\App-V\D24C3BDD-8FAD-44D3-998C-933F8F053682\764C2E31-0B14-4E44-818A-2836992E7EA6\Root\Office15
    Also the search indexing isn't working in Outlook 2013, whenever I try to load the indexing status it keeps on loading with no result. I wanted to remove the profile from Outlook 2013, but with no mlcfg32.cpl it's very hard.
    I also tried a repair of the application with no result.
    Why is there so little information on packaging office 2013 in combination with App-v from Microsoft?
