Looking at the comment in the Blog it looks like it's in the CM12 R2 download. Thanks for your help Mike!

A note to anyone like George who is looking for the updated Endpoint Protection installer, it IS updated in the disk image in the System Center 2012 R2 download, even though the date on the VLSC page for it has not changed since 2013.

I have Office 2012 for Mac.  I want to add Outlook without restarting a trial of Office 2012. How can I do it?

To help with nomenclature: iOS is the operating system for iPads, iPhones and iPods.  OS-X is the operating system for Macs (versions are 10.xxx with the latest being Mountain Lion (10.8.5 is the current patch level)).
Now, to answer your question:  MS Office for the Mac does not give you the ability to individually install, or remove, components like the Windows version.  It is an all or nothing proposition.  So, Outlook should already be there.  If not, you will need to reinstall the entire package.

It depends if you have a current service contract.  You get a 1 year period where you will get updates to LabVIEW after purchase.

  • Mac OSX Lion & Autocad 2012 for Mac

I recently purchase Autocad 2012 for Mac and installed it on a Macbook Pro running OSX Lion.  I have a problem and I'm trying to determine if it is Lion-related or Autocad 2012 for Mac-related.  Within Autocad there is a basic function whereby you can typically use the print functiona and "save as PDF" to save a drawing in a PDF file format.  Once saved in this fashion, the file can then be emailed to a commercial printer (like a Kinko's) that has the correct size printer for printing architectural plans.  Unfortunately, when I try and "save as PDF" the function is not working?  I recognize this is a really specific question that might be as much Autocad related as Mac related, but if anyone has any ideas please let me know.  I'm under the gun on timing to get plans completed!  Many thanks!!!

Make sure your copy of Adobe Acrobat is for Lion if it is installed on your Mac.  It can affect whether or not some PDF functions work.  Your other option, might be to use Save as PDF from the File menu -> Print command.  Though I think the quality of the PDF is not as good that way, at least you can try it and see what comes out.

  • How to pan using magic mouse in Autocad 2012 for Mac?

Hi. I'm loving Autocad 2012 on my Macbook Pro Retina (although, it is not yet supporting Retina Display). The problem is, I want to be able to pan using magic mouse but, there seems to be no option for this. If I use two finger swipe, it switches between desktops.

I'm disliking the navigating too, but instead of the spacebar, I have to hold down the Command button at the same time. The problem with that is it takes me out of Model Space and into Paper Space. Two double clicks to get back in and all is well, but it took a while, and when you're concentrating on eg, dimensioning, you don't always notice.
Re: inactive windows. No zooming, but side to side movement is ok. A fix would be nice.
My other problem bugged me so much I went out and got a (insert feeling of embarassment here) Logitech wheel mouse, and that was trying to control the zoom rate. When it's set as slow as possible, it's too slow for everything else and when it's in AutoCAD, it's ok but most of the time it takes 3 or 4 swipes on the scroll to get it to move. The wheel mouse was ok, but zoom control doesn't work well, even tho it's an expensive mouse, and exchanging it for a new one brought the same problem. (let go of the wheel and it bounces back a little...or a lot... from the direction in which you zoomed). I think I'll take the magic mouse...

  • SCEP 2012 System Center Monitoring Pack for Linux v4.5.10.1 Problem

    Hi Everyone!
We are having a problem with OpsMgr 2012 R2 and the System Center Monitoring Pack for SCEP 2012 for Linux v4.5.10.1.  We have successfully deployed the Linux OpsMgr 2012 R2 agent to our test CentOS 6.5 VM as well as SCEP 2012 v4.5.10.1.  We have
imported the System Center Monitoring Pack for SCEP 2012 for Linux management packs into OpsMgr 2012 R2 which is successfully discovering SCEP on our Linux VM, but when looking at the details for the monitor, it indicates that SCEP is "not found"
as seen in the following screen shot...
As seen in the following screen shots, everything else seems to be installed, configured, and working properly...
Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    JJ

Magnus_001 (big ups) and I were able to get discovery to stop failing on the Linux side of things, but the SCOM MP is still highly problematic.  Their pdf guides for SCEP implementation on Linux has a bunch of typos and errors -- for example, listing
'/bin/sh' instead of '/bin/bash', and one of the lines (the one that includes "export LANG=C" won't run no matter what.  When we disassembled the SCOM MP, we found that there's an extraneous space at the end of the command, current thought is
that that's causing a regex to fail within sudo.  All of their commands, from what I can tell, need to be specified as NOPASSWD within sudo; if you see errors about ssh-askpass with that you can confirm that there are likely typos in their guide sourced
from the pdf.  We eventually allowed '/bin/bash' to get the programs to run since we couldn't get a regex match to catch their command (which should be in a script).  We are out of failures that we can discover with logging on the Linux side; it's
likely to be an error within the MP at this point.
When we look at the powershell script in the MP library, the "not found" error is the default state, set immediately after stdout is captured from the discovery script.  I'm guessing that there's some problem interaction between that script
and the parsing thereof, as when we run the script locally as root we see the output that we'd expect. For all I know that's a line ending or locale problem.
Troubleshooting on the linux end is problematic, as instead of distributing a script to check on the linux side (which makes the sudo part of things much easier), the script is hard-coded within the MP.  From what I understand it would need to be disassembled
    and recompiled to change.
The snippet below may be of use to someone for use in their sudoers file, it will make the checks work on the linux side at least.  I wouldn't recommend this for anything beyond testing, as specifying that an account can run a full bash shell as root
without a password is a terrible idea.
#replace scomactionaccount with whatever your scom action account is called
    User_Alias SCOM = scomactionaccount
    Runas_Alias SCOM = root
    SCOM ALL = (SCOM) NOPASSWD: /opt/microsoft/scx/bin/scxlogfilereader -p
SCOM ALL = (SCOM) NOPASSWD: /bin/bash

  • SCEP 2012 and VDI offline servicing

I've seen this question being asked before in another thread (Best practice to run Microsoft Endpoint Protection client in VDI environment) however the answer doesn't provide enough information (for me at least)
We are planning to use a Citrix XenDesktop environment with Provisioning services providing VDI clients. As far as I know the SCCM client will be installed in the VDI golden image and after some adjustments SCCM client registration will go well. We will
also use SCCM 2012 and deploy SCEP 2012 for anti-malware scanning.
SCCM 2012 provides offline servicing for Software Updates in WIM images, but what is a best practice in keeping the VDI's up-to-date? I can't find any good information about this, so maybe the answer is very simple?... Is there a way to offline service the
VDI image so Software Updates and Anti-Malware updates are injected in the image?
Or do the VDI's get updated as physical systems, at the time they are logged in to the network, discarding all changes when logging off. This doesn't seem the right way to go.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thx. Niels

I struggled with this same problem for a while, and likewise didn't find a great answer anywhere. In our case, this is for an RDS VDI environment, but the solution I ended up employing should work anywhere.
First, set up SCCM/WSUS to download the updates to a UNC share (if you haven't already; here's a helpful guide:
http://blog.thesysadmins.co.uk/sccm-2012-scep-unc-definition-updates-automation-powershell.html). Also, create an antimalware policy for the VDI machines with the definition updates source set to UNC only, and set the UNC Path section accordingly.
Here's the key part: create a scheduled task in your master image to run based on boot or resume (RDS puts the VDI VMs in a Saved state rather than Off). Here are the settings I used for the task:
General tab: I set it to run as the SCCM Network Access Account; Run whether user is logged on or not
Triggers tab: Begin the task On an event; Basic; Log: System; Source: Kernel-General; Event ID: 1 (this pops up on a startup or resume event); Delay task for: 5 minutes (during VM creation, it boots the machine for just a couple minutes, and I
didn't want this task to be interrupted by a shutdown halfway through); Enabled
Actions tab: Action: Start a program; Program/script: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\MpCmdRun.exe"; Add arguments: -SignatureUpdate
I left the other tabs with their defaults
In RDS, the VMs on creation are spun up briefly and then put into a Saved state. It then spins up just a few, waiting for users to connect. By the time a user logs in, the machine should have the latest updates, but even if it doesn't, it should be
no more than ~5 minutes before it does.
    Hope this helps!
    Ryan

  • I have Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4, Quickbooks Pro 2010, Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, Operating in Windows 7.  Are there any recommendations for running Quickbooks Pro 2010?

I have Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4, Quickbooks Pro 2010, Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, Operating in Windows 7.  Quicbooks Pro 2010 is not responding or opening currently. Quickbooks does not support Parallels anymore.  I hear Apple Bootcamp is an opton.  Are there any recommendations for running Quickbooks Pro 2010 on Mac?

QuickBooks Pro 2010 for Mac is not supported in Lion. QB Pro 2011 will work, but I just got an email today that 2011 will not be updated to work in Mountain Lion. QB Pro 2012 will be updated for ML.
Be aware that the Mac version of QuickBooks is shamefully lacking in features compared to the Windows version. I do use the Mac version, but it has more features than I need for a small business, so it doesn't affect me. No one knows why Intuit seems to hate Mac users, but they show it every day.
If QB Pro 2012 for Mac can be downloaded as a demo, I would strongly suggest testing with it before making a final decision. You will be able to import the Windows data, but possibly not all of it, depending on the Windows version features you use.
Boot Camp allows you to install Windows on its own, bootable partition. When you boot to it, you are of course running Windows in every sense of the word. Just on Mac hardware rather than typical PC gear. Your Windows version of QB will work there without issue. The problem is having to boot back and forth between Windows and OS X, depending on what software it is you need to use at the time.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 and SCEP for Mac

    Hello all,
We have SCCM 2012 SP1 with SECP installed and working well for Windows clients.
A request came to me that we have the roughly 10ct Mac computers protected by EndPoint and reporting through SCCM.
Is this possible with what I have now?
Please let me know if you have any clues for me.
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
There is no way to push the SCCM MAC Client to a MAC Computer, you have to install it manually, threre are scripts available on blogs that can assits but still you have to run those scripts manually as well.
The System Center Endpoint Protection client for MAC is indeed a separate download on the volume licensing site, it is not managed through SCCM it is a standalone antivirus software which download it's defenition files directly from the internet. So there
is now way to manage it centrally.
I hope that answered your questions.

There was a second Security Update (v1.1).  Did you download that one.  It was supposed to have fixed the problems created by the prior update.  At least is solved my problems with Quicken 2007 for Mac and AppleWorks 6.
